E3 is ruined.

We all patiently watched Sony’s E3 press conference on Monday with the hope that after years of silence, we’d finally hear new details on Team Ico’s follow-up to the incredible Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian. The game was first announced with a breathtaking teaser video back in 2009, and has scarcely been mentioned since.

No new details came during the conference, but in an interview with GameTrailers, Sony’s Jack Tretton confirmed the disappointing truth that we won’t be seeing The Last Guardian any time soon. Tretton stated: “I think the cool thing about our worldwide development studios is we have so many projects out there from so many great teams. Projects never ultimately go away, so The Last Guardian has certainly not gone away, but it’s on hiatus right now.”

There you have it. If you were still hoping we’d see something from the title at E3, or any time later this year, you can put those hopes to rest. Rewatch The Last Guardian‘s debut trailer below, and let us know how you feel about the news.

http://youtu.be/EHzHoMT5eRg

Update: Kotaku has more information from Shuhei Yoshida, head of Sony Worldwide Studios. Yoshida has issued an update to Tretton’s statement, lettings us all know that “The game is in active development. [Lead designer Fumito] Ueda-san shared updates a few months ago. Nothing has changed. My answer is, ‘Yes, the game is in active development.’ It’s not hiatus at all. But we are not ready to reintroduce it. When we are ready, we will do that. Please wait.”

I’ll believe it when I see it. What do you think?

Even if you’re planning to immediately upgrading to a PS4 or Xbox One upon release, Rockstar is giving us one very good reason to hold onto our old consoles. Grand Theft Auto V hits stores less than two months before Sony and Microsoft release their next generation of consoles.

Rockstar isn’t at E3 this year, so I’m guessing we won’t be seeing any new footage this week. The developer has, however, released a batch of sexy new screenshots. Even if it isn’t next-gen, this game is pretty.

Take a look at the new images below, and be sure to let us know how excited you are! Grand Theft Auto V releases on September 17th!

Mondo is well known for their absolutely incredible posters and artwork (not to mention t-shirts), and they’ve just revealed two new posters for this Summer’s biggest film, Man of Steel.

Two amazing artists have crafted these limited-edition art pieces. Ken Taylor and Martin Ansin have both done some spectacular work, and if my wallet permits, I will definitely be ordering one (if not both) of these.

First, Ken’s 20×36 poster will be available in a regular edition for $50, or a more-limited variant for $75:

man o steel

Next, Martin Ansin’s 24×36 poster will be available for $50 in a regular edition, or $300 in an incredible metal variant:

These both look absolutely wonderful. Will you be picking one up? Head to Mondo’s official blog for all the details.

So this is what future zombie games look like.

During yesterday’s Microsoft press conference, Capcom gave us our first look at Dead Rising 3. In the game, you’ll as play Nick Ramos, an everyday mechanic in a zombie-filled world, who apparently has the ability to call in airstrikes. The gameplay looks like standard Dead Rising fare, but the game’s graphics certainly do not. That is a lot of on-screen baddies.

Dead Rising 3 looks very impressive, and is certainly a title to keep your eye on. The game will launch in early 2014, and at this point has only been revealed for Xbox One. Watch two trailers for the game below, and let us know what you think!

During Sony’s E3 press conference last night, Bungie took to the stage to finally show off gameplay from their anticipated next title, Destiny. The game is a sci-fi first-person shooter on a much larger scale than anything we’ve ever seen before, and is designed to evolve and expand over years of time.

Details are still few on the game itself, but if these trailers are any indication, Destiny is set to be a system seller. Watch the new gameplay videos below, and let us know what you think! Destiny drops sometime in 2014!

During last night’s Sony press conference, Square-Enix confirmed the long rumoured existence of Kingdom Hearts III in a big way. The game’s first trailer was a trip down memory lane for some, and when gamers learned that it was a new title in the franchise rather than a remake or spinoff, the audience went wild.

Since the debut happened at the Sony press conference, gamers were unsure of the exclusivity status of Kingdom Hearts III. Square-Enix confirmed today that at release, the title will be available for both PS4 and Xbox One.

Few details are available about the title, but we’ll be sure to update you as we learn more about Kingdom Hearts III. Watch the game’s debut trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Now, for someone who has never played the series (but has always wanted to), what are my options? Do I need to track down a PS2?

Just two days ago we showed you the fantastic first poster for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Now, it’s trailer time.

We’re just six months away from this second chapter’s release into theatres, and I couldn’t be more excited. I thought that the first film was a fantastically fun, beautiful trip back to Middle Earth, and it’ll be an absolute pleasure to jump back into this world.

The Desolation of Smaug teaser is a great first look at the film, and also give’s us a peek at the film’s titular character, Smaug. Don’t take my word for it, watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits theatres on December 13th!

Were you a fan of the first film? Will you be seeing this one in 48FPS?

Everyone hated the fact that Sony didn’t show off their physical PS4 console back at the system’s announcement in February. That’s all water under the bridge now, as Sony’s E3 press conference has left gamers cheering and dying to get their hands on the console.

Sony has revealed that the console will hit stores in North America and Europe this holiday season. The system will cost you a cool $399, 399 Euro, or 349 Pounds. That’s right, it’s $100 less than the Xbox One.

Physically, the console looks like a slanted black box. Really, I don’t know why people get so stuck up over how a console looks, but to each his own I suppose. It looks like the PS4 will have some fantastic support, which is why I’m really interested in getting one.

Take a look at the first images of the PS4 below, and let us know if you’ll be picking it up! For other PS4 news, read our (no longer live) live blog, and see what you missed!

We first reported on The Walking Dead: 400 Days DLC a few days back, and today the content became official.

Sony announced it during their just-concluded E3 press conference, and also revealed that the game will be coming to Playstation Vita. The Walking Dead: 400 Days is an add-on for Season One of Telltale’s acclaimed title, and will be released this Summer.

The first trailer for the new chapter has been revealed, and I couldn’t be more excited. Sony didn’t mention The Last Guardian, so this news served as one of the most exciting portions of Sony’s conference (only because I’m such a sucker for this game, the rest of the conference was pretty great).

Watch the teaser below, and let us know what you think. We’ll update you as we learn more on this one!

Briefly: Man of Steel doesn’t hit theatres until this Friday, but a sequel is already in development at Warner Bros.

Deadline broke the news as Man of Steel‘s world premiere went on tonight in New York. Overwhelmingly positive reviews are starting to hit the internet, so it’s no surprise that the studio doesn’t want to waste any time on this one. Both director Zack Snyder and writer David S. Goyer are set to return for the sequel. Nolan will return as well, but his role will be smaller than in the first film.

Are you looking forward to Man of Steel? Are you glad to hear that the same team is returning for a second chapter?

It’s been a long day, with E3 conferences from Microsoft, EA, and Ubisoft concluding throughout the afternoon, and Apple’s own WWDC beginning this morning. The moment most gamers seem to be waiting for is here: Sony is finally about to unveil the physical PS4.

What else does the gaming giant have in store for us? What’s up with the Vita (sigh)? Will the PS3 drop in price? When will the PS4 launch? Stay tuned for our live updates throughout the event, and watch our embed below!

Today has been quite a day! First, conferences from Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, and Sony are still ongoing preceding E3 tomorrow, Apple’s WWDC kicked off today, and now the world premiere of Man of Steel.

There are a ton of prominent celebrities at the gathering, and I’m sure we’ll see a ton of people that were involved with the film too. Us peasants have a few days to go until we can see Man of Steel, but it’s great to see that the world is excited for it.

You can watch a live stream of the red carpet event below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Man of Steel hits theatres this Friday!

Another unexpected announcement from EA!

Mirror’s Edge first launched in 2008. The new IP was instantly revered and acclaimed by critics, but sadly did not sell very well. Fans have been awaiting a sequel ever since, but we always knew that it was extremely unlikely to happen.

Today, everything changed. During EA’s just concluded E3 press conference, EA and DICE announced a new entry into the Mirror’s Edge series. The game is being developed for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but a release date has not been unveiled (the video simply states when it’s ready).

Watch the debut trailer below, and let us know what you think! As soon as we learn more about this exciting project, we’ll be sure to share it with you.

WOW. I did not expect this.

A new Star Wars: Battlefront is coming from EA. DICE (Battlefield series) is developing, and it’s going to be insane. A tiny teaser trailer was unveiled at EA’s just-concluded E3 press conference, which shows very little about the game aside from the fact that it’s real.

Star Wars: Battlefront II released in 2009, and a sequel was nearly completed before being cancelled by LucasArts. Watch the teaser trailer for the new game below, and let us know if you’re excited!

E3 attendees (those lucky jerks) will have the chance to play Batman: Arkham Origins on the show floor tomorrow, but for everyone else, Warner Bros. Interactive has revealed a new gameplay trailer for the title.

The preview features a ton of awesome in-game footage, and should quell most worries that gamers had about the title. Arkham Origins looks awesome, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Batman: Arkham Origins hits stores this Fall!

Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline occurring several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, witness identities being formed and key relationships being forged.

How’s everyone liking all this pre-E3 news so far?

Via GameTrailers, Travellers Tales has just released an awesome new trailer for the upcoming Lego Marvel Super Heroes. The game has been kept under wraps for quite some time, with only small peeks and teasers being revealed. This new trailer gives us a much better look at the game, including some major plot elements. I’m unbelievably excited for this title.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think! Stay tuned for more E3 coverage throughout the expo!

Lego Marvel Super Heroes hits consoles later this year!

Briefly: During today’s Microsoft press conference, the company finally revealed a detail that we’ve all been waiting for: the Xbox One’s price point.

The console is set to launch this November (exact date not set) in 21 countries, for $499, 499 Euros, or £429. 499 Euros? Ouch.

What do you think of the price? Will you be picking up an Xbox One? What did you think of the presentation?

With E3 (or at least the big press conferences) and Apple’s WWDC both starting today, I didn’t expect to see much in the way of movie news. That being said, Edgar Wright and his upcoming film The World’s End is bigger than both those conferences combined.

Six new character posters have been revealed for the film, and each gives us a little more insight on the folks we’ll be meeting in the movie. Check out the new images below, and let us know what you think! The World’s End stars Martin Freeman, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Rosamund Pike, David Bradley, and plenty of other awesome blokes, and will hit North American theatres on August 23rd!

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Back in April, we showed you the exclusive poster for Man of Steel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody. Now, just four days before the film’s official release, it’s trailer time.

It looks like they’ll be a few DC Easter Eggs in this one, including an appearance from Batman (which is more than we’ll get from the non-XXX Man of Steel). If you enjoy porn or porn parodies, it looks like you’ll be in for a treat with this one.

Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Man of Steel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody stars Ryan Driller, Eli Cross, Kirsten Price, Skin Diamond, and many more! The movie releases on Vivid on June 14th, and will hit DVD one week later!

We’re just weeks away from the return of AMC’s insanely popular drama Breaking Bad, and the fifth season has just released on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Included in the package is a never-before-seen bonus scene titled ‘Chicks n’ Guns’. The clip features Saul Goodman and Jesse Pinkman taking some precautions as their partner’s management of his meth empire spirals out of control, and it finally reveals how Jesse got his hands on some firepower.

The clip is awesome, and is a pretty integral part of the fifth season. I’m unbelievably excited for this show to return, and I can’t even begin to imagine how it ends. Watch how ‘Chicks n’ Guns’ was made below, and let us know if you’re excited!

What are you hoping to see happen in the final eight episodes?

We’re just a few days away from the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and Warner Bros. has just revealed the first poster for the film.

It’s a simple image, and the tiny Hobbit in its centre really helps establish just how large the film is set to be. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Smaug should be an incredible character, and I can’t wait to see this story continue.

Take a look at the poster below, and let us know what you think! The film’s first trailer is set to release this Tuesday, and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug releases on December 13th!

Following the first full trailer released last month, ABC has debuted a new TV spot for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This spot aired during last night’s NBA finals, and has now been released online.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is still without a premiere date, but the series will air on Tuesdays this Fall. Watch the new spot below, and let us know if you’re excited!

http://youtu.be/M9KdHLq-yfs

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

The world of last year’s best game is about to expand.

Telltale’s 2012 adventure title, The Walking Dead, is one of the most heart-wrenching, addicting, and emotional experiences that the gaming world has ever offered. At the close of the game’s fifth and final chapter last November, Geekscape and the entire gaming world was dying for more from this universe.

A second season of the game was confirmed some time ago, as was the chance of some DLC for the first title. Based on a listing that has popped up on the Steam Database, we may not be waiting much longer for more content.

Little is known about the add-on or what it will entail, but it appears to be subtitled 400 Days. Telltale Games has also been tweeting small teasers that correspond to the leak, so they’re definitely ramping up to something.

Check out the teasers below, and let us know just how excited you are! We’ll be sure to give you more info as we discover it.

Season four of The Walking Dead is now under production! Following last month’s ‘Zombie School’ behind-the-scenes video, AMC has released another production short, this time revealing just how special-effects artist Greg Nicotero came to direct for the show. It’s an interesting watch for anyone interested in the series, which is sure to up the ante with new showrunner Scott Gimple.

Watch the video below, and let us know what you think! The Walking Dead returns to AMC this October.

This looks bad ass.

Summit Entertainment has just released a new poster for Escape Plan, the new action-thriller that features both Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger… need I say more? We haven’t seen a trailer for this one yet, but I’m guessing we’re going to get seriously nostalgic when Escape Plan releases.

The film, originally slated for release this September, has been pushed back to October 18th. This means we’ve got just four months to wait for the feature, which will surely be worth the price of admission.

Check out the new poster below, and let us know if you’re excited!

csg_ESCAPEPLAN_3H_fin9

Action superstars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger team up in the action-thriller ESCAPE PLAN.  Ray Breslin (Stallone), the world’s foremost authority on structural security, agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called “The Tomb.”  But when he is wrongly imprisoned, he must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.

Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson may soon be taking on the role of another hero. Deadline has learned that Marvel Studios is currently courting the actor for the role of Quicksilver in Joss Whedon’s 2015 release, The Avengers 2. There are alleged scheduling conflicts that may prevent the deal from happening, but I’m sure hoping that things work out as I believe this is a fantastic casting choice.

X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer recently revealed that he would also be using Quicksilver in his film. That role went to American Horror Story‘s Evan Peters, which is also a great choice. The Avengers 2 will also feature Quicksilver’s twin sister, Scarlet Witch.

What do you think of the news? Would you like to see Aaron in the role, or is there a better choice out there? The Avengers 2 hits theatres on May 1st, 2015!

Following our first look at Bumblebee, Hound, Optimus Prime, and two other vehicles, Michael Bay has unveiled one more car for the upcoming Transformers 4.

The car is the “the extraordinary and exhilarating 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Coupe,” but the Transformer hiding inside has not yet been revealed.

What do you think of the vehicle? Which robot would you like to see it turn into? Transformers 4 hits theatres on June 27th, 2014.

It’s almost time to head to the theatre for Man of Steel, and Warner Bros. is really pushing all of the marketing they can into the film.

A tie-in mobile game will hit iOS and Android devices on June 14th. The game isn’t the prettiest thing this side of Infinity Blade, but the gameplay looks eerily similar to last year’s Batman: Arkham City Lockdown, which was an absolute pleasure to experience. The game’s price has not yet been determined, but I’d expect a cool $2.99. Watch the first trailer below, and get your swiping finger ready.

The studio has also revealed three new banners for the film, which all really focus on the ‘You Are Not Alone’ message we’ve seen in the trailers. The message certainly seems to have a few meanings, as of course, humans were unaware that aliens existed, and Kal-El certainly thought that he was alone in the universe too. Check the banners out below, and let us know what you think! Man of Steel hits theatres on June 14th!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

We’re just a few months away from Kimberly Peirce’s anticipated remake of horror classic Carrie, and MGM has just debuted a new poster for the film.

This Carrie adaptation is looking very impressive in my opinion; tt’s got an excellent cast, a chilling trailer , an awesome motion poster, and much, much more. I can’t wait to see the full feature (and wish that it hadn’t been delayed).

Take a look at the new poster below, and let us know what you think! Carrie hits theatres on October 18th!

The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

Months after leaked images hit the internet, the first trailer for the upcoming Pacific Rim mobile game has made its way online. It’s a very quick look at the game, but coming from the same folks who did the Real Steel brawler, the final release should fare pretty well.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Pacific Rim hits theatres on July 12th, and I’d assume that the game will release near there too.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
