It’s been a busy 2 weeks for Rare and the crew making Sea of Thieves. Last week during The Game Awards, Rare revealed that the highly anticipate open word adventure will be hitting Xbox One and Windows 10 on March 20th, 2018. While the game hasn’t made a public appearance outside of E3 2017 and Comic Con 2016, Players have slowly been chipping away at the game’s technical alpha for the past year now consistently playing the game and giving their feedback directly to Rare themselves.  This week also seems to be big for Rare as they’ve detailed a bit more on what you can expect to see in the full game.

The short 7-minute progress video seems to give off a personal and warm vibe, similar to a Nintendo Direct. Design Director Mike Chapman takes fans through some of the meatier features of the game such as creating alliances with certain guilds and the variety of mission structures. Check out the full video below for more info, and also check out our 2016 SDCC interview with Executive Producer Joe Neate. Sea of Thieves will be releasing for Xbox One and Windows 10.

Briefly: Yes!

I’ve had my eyes on The Deep End’s upcoming first title, Perception, since its Kickstarter campaign first went live back in 2015.

The team has been filling hungry gamers in on all of the titles’ development news since the Kickstarter was successfully funded, and even revealed a very welcomed console version of the game back in January.

Today, we welcome the best Perception news of all – the game’s extremely close release date. The title will hit Steam, Xbox One, and PS4 on May 30th.

Perception is a first-person narrative horror adventure that tells the story of Cassie, a blind heroine who uses her extraordinary hearing and razor-sharp wits to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned estate that haunts her dreams.

The game looks extremely original, and from a team that consists largely of ex Irrational Games developers, we’re bound to be in for quite the adventure.

Take a look at the release date trailer below, and be sure to let us know if you’re excited for this one!

After about 2 years of waiting and multiple gameplay teases like at N7 day and The Game Awards, EA has finally given Mass Effect Andromeda a release date. Coming straight from the official Mass Effect blog, they revealed that North America will get the chance to explore Andromeda when the game launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 21st, shortly followed by a worldwide release on March 23rd. Are you excited for Mass Effect Andromeda? What’s your favorite Mass Effect game? Tell us in the comments below!

Briefly: We’ve been having a blast with Nintendo’s Super Mario Run since its release last Thursday, and apparently so have many, many others.

Nintendo revealed today that game was downloaded more than 40 million times in its first four days of availability – far exceeding the numbers presented by various analytics firms, which noted between 2.85 and 5 million downloads as the game’s first day numbers.

Apple’s Phil Schiller noted that this marks an App Store record for the fastest-downloaded game. Whoah. The game has also sat atop the ‘Top Grossing’ section of the App Store for the past several days, meaning that Super Mario Run is making a lot of money.

Of course, while all of us are just excited to be playing a new, different, extra portable variation of Mario (with some slick extra modes to keep us going once we’ve collected every Black Coin), many individuals on the web are having a field day about the title. The game is currently rated 2/5 stars on the App Store, and essentially every single one-star review is simply complaining that the game costs money.

The whole thing really makes me think of Louis CK’s famous ‘Everything’s amazing and nobody’s happy’ bit. This game is freaking awesome, and worth every penny.

In any case, I’m off to run some Toad Rally. What’s been your favourite part of Super Mario Run thus far?

Playtonic Games just dropped a bombshell of Yooka Laylee news onto the world today, so without any further hesitation, let’s dig into this info.

Let’s just get the bad news out of the way. As of today, Tuesday December 13th 2016, the Wii U version of Yooka Laylee has officially been canceled due to technical problems with the console. In their newest update, Playtonic stressed that this decision was very hard for them, and right up until today they had been constantly searching for work arounds to the issue, but sadly could not find any. Don’t fret just yet though! While Wii U is officially off the table, Playtonic also dropped that development on Nintendo will continue with a Switch version now set to release!nintendoswitch_hardware-0-0

Now, even though Yooka will be arriving on the switch in 2017, it will not be launching alongside the other versions, but that does bring us to our next piece of news which is far cooler, the game has an official release date! That’s right, get ready to go bat ship crazy because Yooka Laylee will be launching on April 11th 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC! Not only that, but Playtonic also released a look at a brand new world coming to the game titled Capital Cashino. Check out the video below and tell us what you think about this update!

Great news for Alien fans! (No, not the Roswell ones.)

Fox has just released a brand new poster for the highly anticipated horror sci-fi film, Alien Covenant. A sequel to the 2012 prequel Prometheus, which seemed to receive a lukewarm reception with most Alien fans. Originally planned to release October 6th, 2017, Fox has decided to change the films release date. . . . . . .to sooner! Yes, Alien Covenant will now be releasing  on May 19th. 5 whole months months ahead of its original release! To help fans get through the next couple of months, the studio was kind enough to release a teaser poster with a familiar friend we’ve all come to know and love. Check it out below and tell us in the comments what you think about it!

After a couple of months of silence, Nintendo has finally revealed the date and price for Super Mario Run.

The company announced that the game will be launching on December 15th for a limited time on the Apple app store. Android still has no release date. We do know the price now know. The initial trial of the game will be free, but afterwards you’ll have to pay $10 for a full unlock. Not everything has been expanded on (modes, android release, etc), but Nintendo is teasing more news about the game soon. Are you excited for Super Mario Run? Tell us in the comments below!

Video games and comic books share so many qualities, one of which being that the end is never *THE END*. When Professor Layton wrapped up his adventures with Unwound Future, then delivered what was said to be his final game when the prequel trilogy came to a close with 2014’s Azran Legacy, it seemed like that would be the last we would see of the top hat professor. It turns out that this was only half true. While the ultimate gentleman may be out of the spotlight, his daughter has arrived to take up the puzzle solving mantle, and we’ll be playing it in the West much sooner than expected.

Announcing Lady Layton: The Millionaire Araidone’s Conspiracy, the debut trailer introduces us to Katrielle, a dectective who is exploring London in search of her father. With her talking dog at her side, it’s clear that Kat’s adventure will be just as offbeat, charming and quirky as the previous games in the series, all on display thanks to the game’s animated cutscenes. The lengthy trailer gives us plenty to dig into, but we still have so many questions. What happened to Luke and Emmy? What about Layton’s son that was featured in the professor’s mobile spin-off? Considering Luke had the special ability to talk to animals in the past, what’s the deal with the animals actually talking? Where’s Professor Layton? And most importantly, considering how Hershel’s true love ended in tragedy, who was he able to find happiness with again in order to have a family in the first place?

Luckily, we won’t have to wait too long to find out. Check out the trailer for yourself and speculate with us, and make sure to dust off your thinking cap, since we’ll have a whole lot of puzzles to solve once next year hits.

Lady Layton is set for a 3DS, iOS and Android release.

Disney just hosted their first Facebook live event, and while there was a graphical hiccup or 2, their announcement was pretty damn cool.

Director Rich Moore took to the stage with Wreck It Ralph co director Phil Johnston and John C. Reilly  himself to announce that Wreck It Ralph 2 is officially happening (even though Reilly accidentally announced it a couple of times.) and that the film will be releasing on March 9th, 2018, which really isn’t that far away. You can watch the full video right here on their Facebook page if you’re interested. Are you excited for the sequel? Tell us below in the comments!

During Nintendo’s three day Treehouse streaming event, more details surfaced hinting at when we can expect to catch em all for real with Pokemon GO, the upcoming free to play mobile game that uses augmented reality technology to detect and catch Pokemon in our actual surroundings.

While a specific release date wasn’t mentioned, July seems to be the time we could expect the final game to be released if the details surrounding the Pokemon GO Plus accessory is anything to go by. Priced at $34.99, the pocket sized device will light up whenever a Pokemon is nearby, allowing you to use the button on it to throw Pokeballs without having to use up your phone data or pull out your phone every time you want to seek out new characters. What’s even better for 3DS players out there, is the confirmation that Pokemon caught in GO will be transferable into the main games some time in the future. During this portion of the conversation, it was revealed that the Pokemon GO Plus would release in July, right after the release of the app.

E3 2016 Pokemon GO Plus

Knowing that, it seems like we’ll be getting the game sooner than expected, especially since Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have been quiet with the details up until this point, even as the game began a second round of beta testing a few weeks ago. With the game right around the corner, are you excited to finally be the Pokemon Master you were meant to be within the confines of reality? Comment below and let us know!

Are you ready to catch em’ all for the seventh time!? The Pokemon Company has unveiled the first game play trailer for the upcoming Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, showing off its new region, starters, and cover legendaries alongside its worldwide release date.

Releasing on November 18, each version returns with its tried and true turn based combat, which will surely come with another hundred or so Pokemon to catch, train and battle. What’s most exciting to me however, is that the new region seems to be in full 3D. In other words, while and was the first foray into full 3D characters and game play for the main series, traveling was still largely from a top down perspective, save for a handful of special areas. This time, the world already looks so much bigger in scale since the environments have an actual layout that doesn’t revolve around the grid based map that every past game has revolved around. Just think of the new lands we’ll be able to explore while catching all those new Pokemon!

Speaking of which, the trailer gave us our first glimpse at the three new starters and the version exclusive Legendary Pokemon. Featuring Rowlet, a Grass/Flying owl, Litten, a fire kitten, and Popplio, a water type sea lion, one of these three will be the first Pokemon we claim as we begin our new adventure. Let’s talk about these new guys for a minute… Is it just me, or do they look more like fan art? I don’t usually favor Grass Types, but Rowlet looks the most interesting to me, especially with its 180 head spin. Popplio is cute, but uninspired, while Litten… It looks more like a Route 1 catch than a starter. Let’s just hope it doesn’t evolve into a Fire/Fighting type. As far as the Legendaries, we don’t have any specific information on them outside of their box art, but the Sun Pokemon looks like Wildfire from Skylanders decided to walk on four legs, and I’m looking forward to Moon telling us why Lugia went on to skin Cresselia and wear its coat.

Take a look below and watch the full trailer for yourself, then tell us what you think! Which starter are you leaning towards, and are you siding with Sun or Moon this time around? Share your thoughts in the comments and let us know!

After a year of delays and months of silence, we’re finally getting Mighty No. 9 on June 24th… Assuming you wanted it on consoles.

In an announcement to backers that echos our story from last week, the team behind the controversial Kickstarter funded action platformer that’s set to be a spiritual successor to the Mega Man series has gone gold, with a final release date of June 24th. Acknowledging the plethora of problems that have plagued the project for longer than any publisher would want to admit, Keiji Inafune, the father of Mega Man and project lead behind MN9, posted the following message to his backers and fans:

To all of our backers and fans of Mighty No. 9,

Firstly, I would like to say again how sincerely sorry we are for how long we have kept all of our fans waiting. We are finally able to deliver some long awaited news regarding Mighty No. 9. We have now confirmed the following release dates for Mighty No. 9: June 21st 2016 (North America & Asia) and June 24th 2016 (World Wide). We understand that as a result of the various delays we have disappointed and let down our fans, but we are happy to finally be able to deliver the game to everyone who brought us this far.

With the game having “gone gold” we are in the last final stages of being able to deliver it into your hands, be that via your favorite retail outlet, or via digital channels.

Therefore the release date we are announcing is set in stone and there will be no further delays for the game.

Portable versions for PlayStation® Vita and Nintendo 3DS ™ will follow at a later point.

It has been almost three years since the start of our Kickstarter campaign, which was only made possible through the support of our backers and fans around the world. This is a project where everyone’s passions were combined in order to create something very special, and we are looking forward to delivering the final product to everyone who was involved. There can be no stronger connection between game creators and game fans.

Now that the dust has settled, we will be delivering Mighty No. 9 to everyone next month. How long will it take you to clear the main story on NORMAL? How many people are going to be able to clear MANIAC mode? What is going to be the fastest record for the time attack mode? We are looking forward to seeing the community answer all of these questions for us! Make sure to let us know your feedback and thoughts on the game through our SNS channels as you play the game. Your voices are what made this game possible, and we want to continue hearing what you think so that it may influence our future endeavors. “

Unfortunately, gamers who wanted the portable version will still have to continue to wait. The call for community interaction at the end of his statement is comforting, but after delaying the game for so long for a bonus feature like Multiplayer, (a feature that was added to a single player game as a Stretch Goal and was largely seen as a cool bonus rather than a game defining mode,) the multiple supplemental Kickstarter campaigns despite raising far more than their initial goal, a huge visual overhaul compared to what was shown in the concept art, radio silence after the latest delay, and working on side projects like an anime and other games while this one was continuously put on hold, we’ll have to see if it’s enough to win back the faith of the community.

What say you, Geekscapist? Are you excited about the game finally releasing, or are you long over it?

If you were losing sleep over the thought of when you’ll be able to play Megadimension Neptunia VII, the fourth main game in the Hyperdimension Neptunia RPG series, then you’ll be able to rest easy tonight. Idea Factory has announced that our return to Gamindustri will arrive on February 2nd!

Joining Neptune and Nepgear as they travel between three different dimensions as they attempt to save Gamindustri from its latest threats, the game is set to feature new battle mechanics, characters, enemies, CPU’s and NEXT forms to keep things interesting. And of course, we can’t forget the humor, game parodies, and crazy personalities the series is known for, which has captivated us enough to place Neptune and Nepgear in high spots on our top waifu lists! We’ve gone full weeaboo for these games, people!

Despite retailers listing Megadimension Neptunia for a February 2nd release for awhile now, it’s great to see some official confirmation, especially if you’re counting the days until your limited edition will arrive. But wait, what am I supposed to play if Gravity Rush HD and Street Fighter V both come out on the same day!? I think it’s time to make some serious life choices.

For more information on the battle system, NEXT forms, or past reviews, check our archives and get all the Nep Nep you can handle, and be sure to check back for all your Neptune news!

The North American release date for the Pokémon-flavored fighting game, Pokkén Tournament for Wii U, was announced this morning with a surprise: the N.A. release precedes the Japanese one! Pokémon fans in North America can expect the game on March 18 while Japan will have to wait until April 28.

There is already quite a roster building up for Pokkén Tournament and it doesn’t look the reveals are stopping anytime soon. The most recent ones being Braixen, Garchomp, and Mewtwo along with yesterday’s announcement of Chandelure, bringing the fighter count up to 16 combatants.

The North American version of Pokkén Tournament will retail for $59.99. All first production run copies will also come bundled with a Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card that, when tapped on the Wii U Gamepad, unlock the Shadow Mewtwo as a playable character.

Are you looking forward to this one? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

The day a lot of us have been waiting for has finally come.

Just a few short minutes ago Oculus finally pulled back the curtain on their countdown clock to reveal the release date and price for the Oculus Rift. The VR Headset is set to launch on March 28th. What you don’t want to know though is the price. In order to safely secure yourself a kit, you’ll have to put down a whopping $600 in cold hard cash.

Oculus 1

Ok so the machine is pretty pricey, but what do I get with it if I decide to purchase it? Well random person reading this article, I’m glad you asked.

According to their announcement, The full rift set will include built in headphones and a microphone, an Xbox One controller, the Oculus itself (with a free copy of Lucky’s Tale), and the Oculus Remote which let’s you easily navigate the menus on the system. If you’re looking for something even more expensive to pay for, then fear not because Oculus has you covered.

Oculus 2

As of right now you can also Pre order a Oculus Ready Bundle that includes an Oculus ready PC along with the headset for an even more insane $1500. How will this compare to Playstation VR and the Microsoft Hololens in the long run? We’ll just have to wait and find out. Will you be picking up the Oculus Rift when it launches?

Oculus 3

After playing through three remakes, three spinoffs, and an anime that roughly puts it all together, it’s about time for a brand new Hyperdimension Neptunia title, isn’t it? And not a spinoff or another remake, (not that there’s anything left TO remake at his point,) but a true, core title that advances the lore of Gamindustri.

Well, it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer! Idea Factory has announced that the long awaited sequel to 2012’s Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory will finally hit the PS4 in early 2016, under the title of MegaDimension Neptunia VII. That’s “V-2”, not 7. You know the Japanese and their wacky numbering system.

MegaDimension puts players back into the floppy shoes of Neptune, who is tasked with traveling across three different worlds to save Gamindustri, complete with new characters, environments, and CPUs. In addition, the game play is said to be getting a much needed overhaul, with the new “Parts Break” mechanic, which lets the goddesses cut their enemies into pieces to lower their attacks, “Giant Battles”, which will take a new type of strategy to win, and NEXT mode, a Next Gen upgrade that gives the four goddesses brand new, more powerful transformations to go with their new outfits. A new dungeon mini-game rounds out what we know so far, which pays homage to Spelunker. However it plays, it has to be better than Stella’s Dungeon in Re;Birth 2, right?

So step aside, Uncharted 4 and Legend of Zelda, because the game of the year 2016 is already decided! Want to know what all the hubbub is about? Take a look at the screen shots and full press release below, then when you’re done, check out our reviews for the Vita remakes and spinoffs here, here, here and here. Amiibo September Screen 1

In addition, the much rumored Retro 3-Pack was confirmed for September 25th, bundling R.O.B., Duck Hunt and Mr. Game and Watch in one package. The Mii Fighter pack on the other hand, was officially pushed to November from its original September launch window, but was also confirmed as a three character bundle. As for the modern colored 8-Bit Mario, Mewtwo, the Chibi Robo set, and the Yoshi Yarn plushies, details will be released on a future date.

The best news of all? While it wasn’t explicitly stated, it seems like none of the figures mentioned above are store exclusives! That means we can choose where we decide to throw away a good evening camping out for these guys! Which ones are you going to pick up in lieu of valuable time with friends and family? Sound off below!

Shortly after the reveal of an HD remake for the PS2 classic, Odin Sphere, for the East, Atlus has confirmed that the game will be coming stateside as well! In 2016, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, (pronounced LAYV-thra-sheer), will launch in the West for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita, bringing back the gorgeous hack and slash title that put Vanillaware on the map.

But it’s not enough just to port the game to newer consoles, which is why Atlus is promising a series of new features. Following five characters with unique stories based off of Norse mythology, this action RPG is getting all the bells and whistles to ensure that this classic has a real chance of ending up even better. Including redrawn art and upgraded visuals, Leifthrasir will also come equipped with a host of new upgrades to the combat and RPG elements, giving even veteran players a reason to come back!

Specific details are light at this point, but for anyone who played the original Odin Sphere as the sixth console generation was coming to a close, you’ll know how much of a win this is for those who love a visually stunning, often challenging 2D brawler. If you missed out, check out the trailer below and see what all the hype is about!

If you’re still in the Amiibo hunt, you might want to set your alarms for Friday afternoon!

Amazon announced that Palutena would go on sale on Friday, July 24th, at 2 PM PST. One click ordering will be disabled, so everyone who signs in will have an equal chance of obtaining it. Oh, and if you wanted to hoard a ton of characters for yourself, (or sell them to avoid real work,) then sorry. It will be one per customer this time around. Considering how big Amazon is, I’m hoping that they will have plenty in stock to appease all of the gamers who will be viciously assaulting their keyboards trying to buy the Goddess of Light, but then again, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

From Amazon:

“We have ample quantities of this amiibo, but we still expect to sell out. Please act quickly at 2:00 p.m. PT on Friday for your best chance at buying Palutena. Demand is expected to be very high, and there’s no guarantee that she will remain in stock for long.”

Previously, we reported that Palutena would be an Amazon exclusive, resulting in a collective groan from Amiibo hunters who are starting to get tired of these hoops that North America has to jump through just to buy these things. Regardless, it’s looking like some retailers are becoming more proactive with communicating their plans to their ravenous customers, giving everyone a fair shot at snagging a rare figure before the scalpers do, which is a step in the right direction.

Will you be at your computer come Friday? Or are you over all the stress that comes with wanting to give Nintendo your money?

Disney Interactive has announced that their upcoming Star Wars themed Toys to Life title, Disney Infinity 3.0, will hit stores on August 30th. It’s been a few months since we’ve heard any major news on Pokken Tournament, the upcoming Pokemon fighting game developed by the Tekken team at Namco Bandai. As if to make up for this travesty, the game received three new trailers, two of which reveal new fighters, and the third which serves as the opening to the game.

First is the introduction of Weavile, the Dark/Ice type that evolves from Generation II favorite, Sneasel. Using its sharp claws and powerful ice attacks, this Pokemon is often associated with the bad guys of the game’s universe. In Pokken, it puts its high attack and speed stats to great use, dodging opponents attacks and getting up close with ease.

Next, the Generation I favorite, Charizard, was more of a certainty than most. Still, seeing it in action has us all the more excited for the final game. Its powerful wings, claws and fire breath serve as reliable tools for putting the hurt on the enemy, which have carried this Pokemon through nearly two decades of battle. If that’s not enough, its Mega Evolution changes it into the black clad Mega Charizard X, which aims to finish off opponents in intimidating style.

Finally, the best news of all is that the game is right around the corner. Hitting Japanese arcades on July 16th, it wont’ be long before we’ll be able to see the full game in action. Console releases or localization plans haven’t been revealed yet, but considering that it’s Pokemon, it would be ridiculous for it to be passed up.

Tell us who you would like to see in the upcoming fighter! Which Pokemon would be a perfect fit in the Pokken arena? And why would it be Hawlucha?

One of the reasons why the Nintendo Digital Event felt so underwhelming was the surprisingly late release dates that some of the expected 2015 releases received. First, Yoshi’s Wooly World was given a release date of October 16, which is very odd considering the game launches in Europe in about a week. Last I checked, our regions spoke the same language, so the release was likely delayed to fill gaps in the vital holiday season. More understandably, (but just as disappointing,) it was also revealed that Xenoblade Chronicles X, the RPG epic that follows in the footsteps of the critically acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii and New 3DS, won’t launch until the end of the year, on December 4th.

Using a similar turn based battle engine as its predecessor, but focusing on a new universe and cast, the previews we’ve seen in the past show off an incredibly vast world that can be explored on foot or by mech. Primarily taking place in the colony of New Los Angeles, the few remaining humans are tasked with establishing their new home after Earth was caught in the crossfire of warring alien races, all while fighting to survive as other races seek their destruction.

With so much dialogue to translate, dub and convert over to our region, it’s no surprise that the game would take so long to release, Still, that doesn’t mean the news isn’t disappointing. Based on the first game and what we’ve seen of this one though, and I’m willing to bet it will be worth the wait.

In another instance of ABOUT DAMN TIME, we just got this amazing announcement for Zoolander 2! Zoolander himself appeared, alongside Hansel, on the catwalk at the Valentino Fashion show. What happened next was pretty damn awesome.

All this is fine and dandy, but you’re really interested in the date for the extremely anticipated sequel to the 2001 comedy classic. Well, you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer.

Zoolander 2 will hit theaters February 12th 2016!

Have you been waiting for news on the re-release of Grim Fandango since it was announced earlier this year? Well, wait no longer!

At the Playstation Experience, Double Fine announced that the legendary adventure title will arrive on Playstation 4, Playstation Vita, PC, Mac and Linux on January 27th! For nostalgic gamers who want to revisit the classic, or gamers like myself who have never been part of the PC Master Race and couldn’t play it when it was brand spanking new, it’s great to finally know when we’re going to be able to experience the title!

In addition, Double Fine released details on a few more titles that are on the way, including:

Broken Age: Coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita alongside our Act 2 PC release next year.
Gang Beasts: Also heading to PlayStation 4 on PC launch day next year!
Day of the Tentacle: Special Edition: This is a thing! It’s happening!

In addition to the recently released Costume Quest 2, it’s looking like a good year for the team. What are you excited to see? And will you be firing up Grim Fandango in late January? Comment below and be heard!

Atlus has announced that the upcoming 3DS exclusive, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, will become available on November 25th. Bringing together the casts of Persona 3 and 4 for the first time in an RPG setting, (and also marking the first Persona RPG in six years, the team behind the Etrian Odyssey series is bringing their expertise to this first person dungeon crawler.

But for those wondering if the core experience we expect from the series will remain intact, don’t worry. Atlus is promising that Q will retain the combat and character development of the core titles, which will be interesting considering these are established characters in a “what if” scenario. Something tells me it won’t take itself so seriously.

All initial prints will come with special packaging and a half set of tarot cards, but you’ll want to pick up the limited edition if you want all the goodies, including a handy 3DS XL case imported from Japan! Too bad we can’t get that amazing Q themed 3DS to go with it…

But enough wishing for what never will be. Check out the opening movie and let us know if you plan on picking up Persona Q this November!

Briefly: TGS is now on in full swing, and earlier this morning Konami’s own Hideo Kojima took to the stage to give fans a brand-new gameplay demo of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The demo showcases gameplay in the Ground Zeroes portion of the game, and as you’d expect, things look freaking phenomenal. Everything’s in Japanese, so I’m not really sure exactly what’s going on, but the video is definitely worth a watch.

Take a look at the new demo below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the title! Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launches in 2014!

Briefly: The Playstation 4 is still without an official release date, but that is set to change very soon.

Instead of simply sharing the date with all of us eager fans, the company has announced that they will reveal their PS4 launch plans this Tuesday, August 20th.

Sony states “We’ll kick off the show at 18:00 BST on 20 August 2013 with a briefing to media on our release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita”. You’ll be able to watch the reveal live here, which hopefully goes off without a hitch (unlike their 30-minute late, very inconsistent E3 conference).

We’ll be sure to share the news as soon as it’s announced! Are you planning to pick up the console?
