Briefly: Preceding Sony’s PS4 reveal earlier today, Microsoft announced yet another huge exclusive for the upcoming Xbox One.

The publisher has again teamed up with the acclaimed Lionhead Studios for another title in the Fable franchise. This time, however, you’ll be able to join forces with three other people. Is this a game changer for the franchise?

Fable Legends forgoes the storyline from the original trilogy, and will instead be set 400 years before the first game. I’m guessing that Albion will be a very different place than the one we know and love, and that you’re going to need all the help you can get.

Watch the first trailer for Fable Legends below, and let us know what you think! The game was announced without a release date, but we’ll fill you in as soon as we hear more!

Briefly: Finally.

Sony announced earlier this week that the Playstation 4 launch date would be revealed today at Gamescom. Their conference has come and gone, and we now know just when you’ll be able to pick up a PS4 of your very own… and it’s about damned time.

The PS4 will hit North America (US and Canada) on November 15th. As previously revealed, the console will cost a cool $399. European gamers will have to wait an extra two weeks, and can pick up a unit on November 29th (for €399 / £349).

Sony also revealed a price drop for the suffering PS Vita (down to $199, and it’s still not worth buying), and a release date for Gran Turismo 6 (December 6th)!

Take a look at all of the PS4’s launch countries below, and let us know if you’ll be picking up a console! I’m looking forward to getting in line for this one!

Briefly: Edgar Wright’s The World’s End is now less than a week away from (North American) theatres, and we couldn’t be more excited!

The Cornetto trilogy is almost over, but how about a refresher on the previous chapter? A new, interactive screenplay for Edgar Wright’s Hot Fuzz has been released online, and is a great look into one of this decade’s most recognized films.

The screenplay is filled with plenty of images, videos, and notes that I’ve never seen before, and should serve as a great flip-through for fans of Wright’s films, or anyone excited for The World’s End!

Head here to take a look at the screenplay (which isn’t embeddable like the Shaun of the Dead one was), and let us know if you’re excited for The World’s End!

Briefly: Batman: Arkham Origins is now just a few months away from stores, and Warner Bros. Interactive has just debuted some new screenshots for the title.

The new screens offer what appears to be a pretty neat reveal: Origins will feature the Batcave. Sure, we got a glimpse of it all the way back in Arkham Asylum, but maybe this time we’ll be free to visit?

Take a look at the screenshots below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the game! Batman: Arkham Origins releases on October 25th, 2013!

Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline occurring several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, witness identities being formed and key relationships being forged.

Briefly: The ever growing cast of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy has just added one more player.

Greg Henry, who has previously appeared in Gunn’s Slither and Super, has joined the cast in an unspecified role.

This would mark yet another great addition to the already stellar cast of Guardians of the Galaxy. So far, the film stars Karen Gillan, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, John C. Reilly, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, Djimon Hounsou, and more! Take a look at Henry’s revelatory tweet below, and let us know who you’d like him to play!

Briefly: In a just released interview with D.J. Caruso (promoting his new film, Standing Up), the director briefly touched on a project that many of us have been waiting for for a very long time: the film adaptation of Garth Ennis’s Preacher.

Caruso states “I’m still attached to Preacher and we’re wrestling with Sony because I got another movie at Sony called Invertigo, which is a big action film we’re trying to get going this summer. So Preacher got put on the back burner, but we’re still involved with Preacher and hopefully we’ll have some good news on that soon. Todd August wrote a great script. I think it’s one of those features that has to kind of go through the studio system if it’s going to be made for a certain price. So we’re kind of revisiting a way to approach making the movie in the right way.”

So basically, the movie is still happening… but not right now.

The project, of course, has been in development hell forever. The film rights originally sold in the late 1990’s, and has since gone through plenty of writers, directors, studios, and even HBO before landing where it is today. For me, the HBO series sounded like the most promising way to adapt the series, and I don’t think I’d be alone in saying that I’m not overly looking forward to Caruso’s version… if it ever comes to be, that is.

Are you still waiting for a Preacher film? Who would you want to see play Jesse? Sound out below!

Briefly: Whatever this project is, I’m already insanely intrigued.

Bad Robot today debuted a trailer for a mysterious new project titled Stranger. It’s unknown whether the video teases an upcoming film or television project for the studio (which has a number of each currently in the works), but Stranger doesn’t appear connected to anything that Bad Robot has announced so far.

The video clocks in at just over a minute long, so I won’t spoil anything that it contains. Take a look at the impressive teaser below, and let us know what you think! We’ll be sure to share more details as they’re announced!

Briefly: The Playstation 4 is still without an official release date, but that is set to change very soon.

Instead of simply sharing the date with all of us eager fans, the company has announced that they will reveal their PS4 launch plans this Tuesday, August 20th.

Sony states “We’ll kick off the show at 18:00 BST on 20 August 2013 with a briefing to media on our release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita”. You’ll be able to watch the reveal live here, which hopefully goes off without a hitch (unlike their 30-minute late, very inconsistent E3 conference).

We’ll be sure to share the news as soon as it’s announced! Are you planning to pick up the console?

Briefly: This is freaking awesome.

Machinima Prime has just debuted a fantastic new Skyrim live action fan film. Created by Warialasky, a Machinima partner based in Utah who is best known for his Skyrim, Goldeneye, Tetris and Splinter Cell live action pieces, this latest live-action Skyrim short follows Dovahkiin, the noble dragonborn hero, who is cursed in a fight with a vampire.

The video clocks in a nearly 20 minutes, and had me invested right from its opening scene. I haven’t seen any of Warialasky’s other work, but following this unreal Skyrim short, I’ll be looking them up immediately.

Take a look at Skyrim: Into The Void below, and let us know what you think!

http://youtu.be/xy5LizCEGF8

Dovahkiin has completed the task of eliminating Alduin and saving the world from destruction, only to have contracted vampirism along his journey. Most of Skyrim remains oblivious to this feat and shun him from their towns because he has become a vampire, leaving Dovahkiin to wander the wilds.

The head of the Dark Brotherhood, Astrid, captures Dovahkiin and brings him to a remote cabin in the marshes, believing she can use him. Promising a cure for his vampirism, Astrid convinces Dovahkiin to assist the Brotherhood on a mission to rescue a captured member of the Brotherhood. This forced partnership brings them face-to-face with the Necromancers and a battle for their survival ensues.

Briefly: Those of you looking forward to next year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be waiting a little longer than expected.

The film, originally slated to hit theatres on June 6th, has been pushed two months to August 8th. Paramount explains that the lack of family films in late Summer should help the production’s box office numbers (the further distance from Paramount’s own Transformers 4 should also help both films).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, Whoopie Goldberg, and plenty of others! I’m still not really sure what to make of the film (or Megan Fox’s April O’Neil for that matter), what do you think?

Briefly: FX today released a third extremely brief, extremely creepy teaser for the upcoming American Horror Story: Coven.

The video clocks in at just 18 seconds, so I won’t give away anything that the teaser reveals. It likely has almost nothing to do with what the season will actually offer (as with Asylum‘s teasers), but I’m damned excited to see more.

Take a look at the teaser below, and let us know what you think! American Horror Story: Coven premieres on October 9th!

Briefly: It’s about time…

After an announcement earlier this Summer, followed by a prompt delay, Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time is finally available worldwide.

I haven’t yet had a chance to download the game, so I haven’t experienced just how much the in-app purchases and free-2-play model mess with the addictive, simple perfection of the first title. Maybe things will turn out alright?

Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time is available for free on iOS now. Download it here, and be sure to let us know if you’re enjoying the title!

Briefly: Could The Wonderful 101 be the Wii U’s much needed killer app?

The Wonderful 101 is less than a week away from hitting store shelves… at least in Europe and Japan (North Americans will be waiting until mid-September), and Nintendo has just debuted a wonderful launch trailer for the highly anticipated title.

Juan gave us some pretty fantastic coverage of the game during this year’s amazing San Diego Comic-Con, and if his excitement is any indication, The Wonderful 101 is guaranteed to be something special. It’s been some time since I’ve picked up a new Wii U game (though I still really need to get on Pikmin 3), but I will definitely be lining up for this one.

Take a look at the launch trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited!

Briefly: Here it is folks.

That’s right, it’s Thursday morning, and Rockstar has just (finally) debuted the first multiplayer footage from Grand Theft Auto V.

We’ve all been very curious to learn just what Grand Theft Auto V‘s multiplayer component would bring to the table, and that time is finally here. Take a look at the multiplayer first-look below, and let us know just how excited you are!

Grand Theft Auto V hits PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th.

Amazing, right?

Briefly: Warner Bros. Interactive today revealed a pretty fantastic collector’s edition of Batman: Arkham Origins.

Sounds pretty cool, but will you be dropping $120 on it?

Briefly: What choices await us in Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us? If the game turns out anything like last year’s The Walking Dead, we’re in for a damn fine treat.

Announced earlier this year, The Wolf Among Us is Telltale’s adaptation of the popular DC/Vertigo series Fables. The first trailer for the game has just been released, and it looks mighty impressive. A release date for the first episode is yet to be announced, but the preview states that it’s ‘premiering soon’.

I haven’t read much of Bill Willingham’s Fables, but it certainly sounds like an infinitely intriguing concept. I’m not sure that the scenarios that The Wolf Among Us could match the intensity of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series, but I suppose we’ll find out soon enough! Take a look at the first trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Set prior to the events seen in the first issue of the FABLES comic book series, The Wolf Among Us puts players in the role of Bigby Wolf, a man once more infamously known as The Big Bad Wolf.  Now the sheriff of a hidden community in New York City, exiled from the land of fairy tales, Bigby is tasked by the bureaucrat Snow White to keep order within a society of mythical creatures and characters trying to remain undetected in the world of the mundane.  From a chain-smoking member of ‘The Three Little Pigs,’ to a car-stealing Mr. Toad itching for his next wild ride, The Wolf Among Us examines the lives of beings straight from the pages of myth and lore, now trying to survive on the meanest and most run-down streets of New York City.

As you must know (mostly from the constant coverage of every new image, trailer, featurette, and poster), all of us here at Geekscape are unbelievably excited for Edgar Wright’s The World’s End, which is finally about to hit North American theatres (well, on August 23rd).

You must be looking forward to the film too (after Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, how could you not be?), so wouldn’t you also love to win some sweet The World’s End prizes? Yeah you would.

You’re in luck. Focus Features has provided Geekscape with three (3) The World’s End t-shirt / pint glass combos. This Saturday, we’ll pick three winners who meet all of the following criteria:

– Like Geekscape on Facebook
– Share this photo on your Facebook wall
– Reside in the United States (sorry Canadians… I feel you)

That’s it! Simple, huh? You can take a look at an image of the prizes below, and be sure to rewatch the trailer too! Again, The World’s End hits theatres on August 23rd! We’ll see you in line!

TWE-PrizePack-B

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again.  They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End.  As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s.  Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Briefly: Elysium hit theatres just a few days ago, and director Neill Blomkamp’s next picture has already been greenlit.

Sony and Media Rights Capital are co-financing the film, which was written by Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell. The movie, called Chappie, “tells the story of a robot imbued with artificial intelligence who is stolen by two local gangsters who want to use him for their own nefarious purposes.  The film will star Sharlto Copley as the voice of Chappie, with Ninja and Yolandi Visser, voices of the South African Zef counter-culture movement and members of rap-rave duo Die Antwoord, as the two gangsters.”

Production of Chappie is set to begin this Fall. A release date for the film has not been set.

I’m a huge fan of Blomkamp, and of course Sharlto Copley (who really was the stand out performance of Elysium). I really can’t wait to see what the duo does next!

Does Chappie sound like your cup of tea? Sound out below!

Briefly: Last week, NetherRealm Studios revealed that the next DLC character for Injustice: Gods Among Us would be none other than Zatanna.

The character’s first debut trailer showed some pretty impressive skills, along with (naturally) very flashy moves. Zatanna’s finishing move, however, is likely the most boring of the game’s entire roster.

The Zatanna DLC has just launched, and is now available for download (for a measly $5 / 400 MS Points) on PS3 and Xbox 360. Wii U owners like myself, are again out of luck, and will probably never see the DLC… like, ever.

Take a look at Zatanna’s history below, and let us know if you’ll be downloading the character!

Briefly: Earlier today, the official X-Men twitter account posted an awesome set of blueprints for, of course, a Days of Future Past Sentinel.

The image isn’t quite a high enough resolution to fully read, but from what we can see, there is certainly a lot going on inside a sentinel’s head.

Take a look at the image below and let us know what you think! I’m really looking forward to seeing some footage of these guys in action, how about you?

Briefly: Nope, it’s not a video of GTA V’s highly anticipated multiplayer mode (that’s coming Thursday), but it’s still pretty damn cool.

Rockstar today overhauled the official Grand Theft Auto website with a Los Santos / Blaine County travelogue. The new site features plenty of new screenshots, and also goes in-depth on some of the things you’ll be able to do in the game.

The site is absolutely full of info, and I’d implore you to check it out if you’re excited for the game. Take a look at a plethora of new screenshots below, and let us know what you think! Grand Theft Auto V hits theatres on September 17th!

Bah, this looks INCREDIBLE!

Briefly: Clocking in at just under five minutes, saying much of anything about First Impressions would simply spoil it too much.

In short, Leo Kei Angelos has crafted an immensely impressive, insanely well choreographed Wonder Woman fan film. The short stars Hailey Bright as a very capable Diana, Chester See as her date, and our pal Doug Jones as a bad guy with bad things to do.

Seriously, it’s five minutes, and it’s totally worth it. Check out the short below, and let us know what you think! CW / Warner Bros., whenever you finally get around to producing something Wonder Woman centric, you should definitely be calling up this guy.

Hmm… Maybe it’s finally time to pick up a new Xbox 360.

It’s August, and the hottest time of the year for many of us. This, of course, means that it’s also the best time of the year to turn on a fan (or AC if you’re lucky enough), grab a controller, and get some quality gaming done.

The Xbox team fully understands this, and again have launched an awesome ‘Summer of Arcade’ promotion that will last throughout August. Each Wednesday in August (including the 7th, which has already passed… whoops), an awesome, must-play new arcade title will release on Xbox Live, leading up to the highly anticipated (and covered) release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Each Wednesday at 3PM on the Polaris YouTube channelAll That‘s Lisa Foiles (who we had on the show just a few short months ago) will host a live show featuring that week’s new title (plus prominent YouTube gamers JesseCox, Raychul Moore, and GameGrumps). The new games will release the same day, and you’re definitely going to want to play all of them. Here’s the schedule and a description of each title:

August 7th – Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons – 1200 Microsoft Points
Guide two brothers on an epic journey. Control both at once with each thumb stick in co-op play like never before. Explore puzzles, varied locations and fight boss battles.

August 14th – Charlie Murder – 800 Microsoft Points
Fallen punk rock idols Charlie Murder must face off against rival death metal band Gore Quaffer and their army of the damned in an RPG brawler hybrid inspired by coin-op beat ‘em ups and dungeon crawlers.

August 21st – Flashback – 800 Microsoft Points
Conrad B. Hart of the G.B.I. is re-enlisted for the return of an acclaimed gaming franchise. Uncover an alien conspiracy, getting through complex & deadly environments.

August 28th – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows – 1200 Microsoft Points
TMNT: Out of the Shadows returns to how it all began. Become the four turtles fighting to save New York City from mutants, the Foot & Shredder.

Damnit. All of these games look and sound incredible. What’s a guy to do? Let us know which games you’ll be picking up, and check out the Summer of Arcade announcement video below!

Briefly: It looks like Vin Diesel’s secret Marvel role won’t be Vision OR Thanos, as many have been speculating for some time now.

Yesterday, Diesel himself posted a picture of Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Groot on his Facebook wall. The photo was briefly set as the actor’s cover photo, but has since been taken down (though you can still find it by looking through the timeline).

Deadline has since confirmed that Diesel is indeed in talks to join Guardians of the Galaxy, and if all goes well, he’ll be the voice of the CG, tree-like character, Groot.

Would you be a fan of Diesel in the role? Anyone else you’d rather see? Sound out below!

Briefly: This sounds like a great watch, and some fantastic coverage for Stan Lee’s Comikaze (which we, of course, are HUGE proponents of).

This September, Syfy is set to introduce a new docu-series (is that a nicer word for a reality series?) that follows seven geeky superfans on their quest to obtain an internship with Stan Lee.

Fangasm spotlights seven very different people whose niche uber-obsessions run the gamut from comic books and collectibles to science fiction and fantasy to cosplay and live action role playing. Living together and working together at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo, Los Angeles’ largest pop-culture convention, the cast must contend with each others oversized personalities and conflicting passions as they vie for a opportunities within Lee’s organization. Because when different passions come together – you get a real big bang. Fangasm debuts Tuesday, September 24 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Syfy.

These roommates stop at nothing to prove their fan-cred to each other, debating everything from favorite superheroes, Star Wars vs. Star Trek, and even what they would do in the event of a real zombie apocalypse. And while the claws do come out, this hilarious and loveable group is ultimately bound together by a shared joy of fandom.

Over the course of the season, the eager group dives into their internships at Comikaze as it prepares for the upcoming Comikaze Expo – the comic, gaming, anime, sci-fi, fantasy horror and general pop-culture expo held each November in Los Angeles. The massive convention is a year-round business, run by Lee, Regina Carpinelli (who guides the interns as their supervisor) and Cassandra Peterson (better known as Elvira Mistress of the Dark). The pressure is on for the interns, who all have high hopes of earning an actual job with the organization. Throughout the summer, they are thrust into a myriad of assignments, both in the field and at the Comikaze Expo headquarters. They pitch comic book ideas to Lee, clean a storage space belonging to Elvira, and pull out all the stops to plan for the star-studded Comikaze launch party. Along the way they get to meet the original Mr. Sulu himself, George Takei, a truly emotional and dream moment for one of the interns.

Sounds pretty awesome, huh? Fangasm is set to premiere on September 24th on Syfy, and Comikaze 2013 hits LA on November 1st! Tickets for the convention are on sale now, and if you enter the promo code GROOVY (because Bruce Campbell WILL be in attendance), you’ll net a sweet discount. Be sure to let us know if you plan on watching Fangasmand read more about each contestant below!

ANDREW DUVALL – 27 – Valdosta, GA (Hometown) and Los Angeles, CA
Andrew always dreamed of being the Captain of the Starship Enterprise, but instead he works for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. When he’s not in his Star Trek uniform watching Star Trek marathons he can be found playing Magic: The Gathering. Sometimes he’ll do both at once. Andrew is self-aware in the best possible way, and loves making people laugh.

DANI SNOW – 26 – Burbank, CA
Dani was raised on the original Star Wars movies and the works of Tolkien. Reading Harry Potter and watching Lord of the Rings did not make her popular, but after high school she blossomed socially, and gravitated towards fellow geeks. She’s played a pirate at a Renaissance Pleasure Faire, and tours the convention circuit with The Damsels of Dorkington, a comedy troupe. She now spends her days doing special effects makeup on short films, performing comedy whenever she can and using her Harry Potter knowledge at her job to help identify copyrighted material online for the franchise.

KRISTEN HACKETT – 23 – New York, NY
Kristin is a single and sexy comic book fangirl living in New York City. She loves that the city she lives in is also the dwelling place of her favorite superheroes, namely Spider-Man and Nightwing. Her three passions in life are blogging geek culture, comics and fashion. With All-American good looks she is often hit on by jocks and meatheads; however, she’s only attracted to super dorky and nerdy guys. Her passion for comics and graphic novels is evidenced by her massive collection and commitment to travel the country to attend every comic convention possible, which she covers for her websites. She admits she is a hoarder when it comes to collectibles, and she was even compelled to create a giant spreadsheet for her collection of 600+ graphic novels. The obsessions are only overshadowed by her closet full of custom cosplay outfits. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Kristin enjoys designing and creating her own costumes.

MIKE REED – 22 – Ybor City District of Tampa (Hometown) and New York, NY
Mike considers himself the ultimate comic book and superhero fan. He loves all DC comics and wants to live his life like Superman. He’s an active cosplayer and founded his own group called Team Avalanche, making amazing costumes and putting on shows across Florida. Even though he’s a nerd, he has quite the charm on the ladies. By night he will go to the club with a confident swagger, and by day he will sport spandex. Though he just received an amazing promotion at his job, he’s willing to quit for the opportunity to be an intern for Stan Lee’s Comikaze.

MOLLY McISAAC – 24 – Soldotna, AK (Hometown) and Seattle, WA
Molly is determined to show the world that not all fangirls are “the comic book guy.” A self-proclaimed fashionista and cosplay queen, she blasts away nerd stereotypes by being incredibly social and fond of the nightlife. Steadfast in her feminist beliefs, Molly is often labeled a “difficult woman” or “kind of crazy,” but it’s just because she’s incredibly confident and not afraid to be loud if she doesn’t agree with someone or something. This makes dating difficult – especially since she only likes successful, professional geeks! But her social views do not mean her geeky interests fall to the wayside: she’s particularly fond of anime, comic books, cosplay, video games, and LARPing. With incredibly sharp wit, an army of fanboys, and a secret belief that she’s more intelligent than most people, Molly is a powerful force to be reckoned with.

PAUL PERKINS – 22 – Sacramento, CA
Getting this internship would be a double win for Paul. In one fell swoop he’d have a job and move out of his parent’s house. It’s every true nerd’s dream! Paul is passionate about all things comic books, sci-fi and Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments. He is a huge film buff with a massive collection of over 2,000 movies. While Paul is opinionated and outspoken, when it comes to girls he crawls right back into his shell. He lacks confidence around women, which he says is part of the reason he hasn’t had a girlfriend in over four years – that and the fact he likes to dress up as a Marvel superhero.

SALVATORE FRINGO – 25 – Amsterdam, NY
Salvatore is not what you’d call a shy geek. He’s loud and vocal about what he loves, and what he loves are superheroes. While he’s a huge fan of the heroes of the Marvel Universe, he doesn’t discriminate against any characters because of their publisher. He may not be a gifted engineering genius like his comic book idol Tony Stark, but he does teach kids how to create their own superheroes, all while he dresses like Iron Man. He thinks of himself as a new breed of geek because he’s “attractive, funny, cocky…but with a sweet side.” He’s hoping that sweet side will be sweet enough to land him his real life Pepper Potts.

Briefly: We’ve all been very curious to learn just what Grand Theft Auto V‘s multiplayer component would bring to the table, and it looks like we won’t be waiting much longer.

Rockstar’s official blog has just revealed that the first Online gameplay trailers and previews will hit the web this Thursday, August 15th.

We’ll be sure to share the videos as soon as they’re available! Let us know if you’re excited!

Briefly: There doesn’t seem to be a lot of news coming out this year’s D23 expo (though there’s still plenty of time to change that), but this is definitely one of the more interesting tidbits.

Disney today revealed a new synopsis for Marvel’s highly anticipated phase two film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Take a gander at the synopsis below, and let us know what you think! Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theatres on April 4th, 2014!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Briefly: Just days after Sylvester Stallone revealed that Harrison Ford had joined The Expendables 3, and that Bruce Willis was “greedy” and “lazy” and would not be returning, the Patrick Hughes directed film has added two more players.

Stallone revealed today that Mel Gibson has signed on for a role, and will play the film’s antagonist. Antonio Banderas has also joined the project, though his role has not been specified.

The cast of The Expendables 3 keeps getting bigger and bigger, and I’m starting to wonder if the film can fit this many stars. The Expendables 3 has already added Jackie Chan, Nicolas Cage, Milla Jovovich, Wesley Snipes, and Harrison Ford to the crew, and I’m sure we’ll see even more additional casting before production wraps. Let us know what you think of the latest news, and if you’re looking forward to the film! The Expendables 3 hits theatres on August 15th, 2014.

Briefly: Kick-Ass 2 is just one week away from theatres, and Universal today debuted a new featurette for the anticipated film.

The video features plenty of new footage, and mostly deals with the tough production of a battle between Mother Russia and Hit Girl. The fight looks pretty impressive from what we see here, and it apparently took an entire two weeks to film!

I’m very excited for to get in line for Kick-Ass 2, and today’s featurette really gives us a great peek at just how fun the movie will be. Take a look at the featurette below, and let us know what you think!

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation. When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy.

Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes. Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.
