Earlier today, X-Men director Bryan Singer announced on the set of X-Men: Apocalypse via the Periscope app, which I genuinely still don’t understand, a new “Rogue Cut” of X-Men: Days of Future Past to include a mystery, fan-favorite mutant! Who could it be?

unnamed

Kidding. It’s Rogue. Anna Paquin’s role in Days of Future Past was left on the cutting room floor, but now in a home video rerelease diehard Rogue (and I guess Anna Paquin) fans will get to see their favorite do some mind stuff to Wolverine.

There’s still more to learn, but all we know is that the cut will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital HD on July 14.

Briefly: Fans everywhere are still talking about (and gushing over) X-Men: Days of Future Past, but Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Michael Dougherty, and Dan Harris are already heard at work on the next instalment in the series, X-Men: Apocalypse.

Singer today published the first photo to his Instagram account, which shows off the front page of the film’s treatment and revealing how Apocalypse will open. Turns out it’s (spoiler) right where the after-credits scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past left off.

Take a look at the image below, and let us know what you think! X-Men: Apocalypse hits theatres on May 27th, 2016!

Apocalypse

Briefly: Since X-Men: Days of Future Past hit theatres on Friday, essentially erasing and re-writing the X-Men film franchise, we’ve all been wondering whether or not Days was a swan song for the original X-Men cast, or if we’d be seeing them again in the next film, X-Men: Apocalypse (which Jon and Ian discuss at length, along with the rest of DoFP in the latest podcast).

In an interview with The Daily Beast, screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg, he states that Apocalypse “will focus primarily on the First Class cast, but it will certainly have some of the original cast involved, too.”

It’s not much, but it’s something! Who would you like to see in the film? X-Men: Apocalypse hits theatres on May 26th, 2016!

I’d take a look at the full interview too, it’s pretty great.

Briefly: With just one week remaining until the film’s release. Fox has just debuted a new featurette for their highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The video is titled ‘Extinction’ and features the cast chatting about what’ll happen if they don’t succeed in their newest mission. It also features some great looking new footage… which I almost wish that I hadn’t seen as we’ve pretty much seen the whole movie by now.

Take a look at the featurette below, and let us know what you think! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Briefly: With just two more weeks of waiting until X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres, Fox is really ramping up the marketing for the film.

Today, the studio released a new ‘Quicksilver Power Piece’ clip, which is a mashup of a ton of impressive new Quicksilver footage. He still looks pretty lame (in my opinion), but definitely fares better in motion than in still photos.

Take a look at the (spoilery) footage below, and let us know if you’re excited for the film. X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Briefly: X-Men: Days of Future Past is just two weeks away from theatres, and Yahoo! has just launched an awesome interview with Hugh Jackman… being interviewed by Hugh Jackman.

Yep, they sent him back to 1999, and the two have a conversation about X-Men, comic book movies, Hugh’s career, which of his films have been the best, and which ones to avoid. It’s pretty hilarious, and definitely worth the watch.

Briefly: I can’t actually watch the clip that I’m about to share since I don’t live in the USA, but I hear that it’s pretty fantastic.

Supposedly, it’s an extended clip showing off the opening battle of the film that just debuted at the MTV Movie Awards. USA residents, watch it below, and I’ll update with a global link as soon as one is available!

Briefly: EW today debuted a new look at Evan Peter’s Quicksilver in next month’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The character’s design has been largely criticized since its debut, but (to me, anyways) he certainly looks better in action than while posing. The scene is apparently one of Peters’ only in the film, as writer/producer Simon Kinberg explains that it “is the bulk of Quicksilver’s presence in this film. They need somebody who can help them get in and out of somewhere. And the idea is that Logan knew him in the future and so they go to try to find his younger self.”

Take a look at the still below, and be sure to let us know if you’re looking forward to X-Men: Days of Future Past. Be sure to look for the film’s final trailer on April 15th.

The movie’s looking pretty hot, and as you can expect, we can’t wait to see it. Rewatch the theatrical trailer here if you need to, and take a look at the next posters below. X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Briefly: We’re just over a month away from the release of Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Fox has just debuted the film’s first TV spot.

The video features some footage that we haven’t seen before (mixed, of course, with footage that we have, like last week’s awesome new trailer), and does a great job of reminding us that this is a merger of the characters that we knew and loved in the first films, as well as everything that was fantastic about X-Men: Days of Future Past.

It’s probably going to rock (probably), and we can’t wait. Take a look at the spot below, and let us know what you think. X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Briefly: Following that new still from a week back (and the trailer teaser from a few days ago), Fox has finally debuted a second trailer for May’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

This trailer shows much more than the ‘cast recap’ trailer that we saw back in October, and it features some absolutely gorgeous shots and reveals. Days of Future Past…where have I heard that name before…

Briefly: TotalFilm today debuted a brand-new still from May’s highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past. The still features a young Magneto pointing a gun at something offscreen, while Wolverine and Beast look, well, uncomfortable.

Also, the BBFC has rated a second trailer for the film, with a running time of two minutes, twenty eight seconds, so I imagine we’ll see that online in the coming days. Take a look at the still below, and we’ll be sure to share the new trailer as soon as it’s available.

Briefly: Following the debut of 25 awesome, limited edition Empire covers earlier this week, the publication has just released four new stills from X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The images give us new looks at Mystique, Wolverine, Magneto, Iceman, Kitty Pride, Colossus, and Iceman, and are some of the better stills we’ve seen from the film thus far.

Briefly: Just as Bryan Singer revealed in his cryptic tweets last week, It’s a BIG day for those of us looking forward to X-Men: Days of Future Past.

To mark the biggest super-hero movies ever made, this month’s issue of Empire Magazine will feature 25 different, limited edition covers featuring one of the film’s prominent cast members (meaning that you probably won’t see Anna Paquin on one of them).

You can head to Empire here to order all the covers you desire, and you can check them out in the gallery below. Only 15 of the 25 have been revealed so far, so we’ll keep the gallery updated with new images. Take a look below, and let us know which one is your favourite!

Update: Here’s another batch of covers. They’re still coming down the pipeline, so keep checking this space! Even Rogue, who was cut from the film, got a cover!

Update 2: Here’s the final batch of posters, including a look at the film’s future Sentinel.

Again, be sure to let us know your favourites, and also… how dumb does Quicksilver look?

Briefly: Bryan Singer sure does love his twitter

The X-Men: Days of Future Past director has debuted a new Instagram teaser for the film, showcasing some brand-new footage, and also teasing that “Something BIG is coming Jan 27.”

Singer has posted numerous behind-the-scenes photos from the film’s development over the course of its production, and I’m certainly excited to see what he’s got in store for us next. Since the film’s first trailer debuted all the way back in October, could it be a new theatrical trailer for the movie?

In any case, take a look at the new Instagram teaser below, and check back on the 27th to see what’s up!

Briefly: With just a few months to go until X-Men: Days Of Future Past hits theatres, Fox has finally given us our first look at Even Peters’ Quicksilver in the film.

It’s a single image, and it’s pretty low resolution (we’ll be sure to update once a high-res version hits the web), but it at least gives us a decent look at a character that we’re all very excited about.

Briefly: This month’s Empire magazine is chock-full of great stuff for geeks. First up, that The Winter Soldier cover is pretty damned cool. The issue also featured some great shots from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the Captain America sequel.

Now, they’ve launched a cool behind-the-scenes still from both X-Men: Days of Future Past and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Take a look at everything below, and let us know what you think! Dawn of the Planet of the Apes hits theatres on July 11, and X-Men: Days of Future Past releases May 23rd!

Briefly: All the way back in January, X-Men: Days of Future Past director Brian Singer revealed that Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, and Shawn Ashmore would reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel.

Sadly, one of those characters has been cut from the film.

Singer today revealed that a rescue scene shot early in production (during Paquin’s only week on the project, and her only scene in the film) has been left on the cutting-room floor. Singer states:

“Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.”

Of course, it had nothing to do with Paquin herself, and Singer would love to work with the actress again:

“She did a fantastic job. She was awesome in the sequence. She’s a brilliant actress. I would work with her in a heartbeat. She completely understood. It’s very disappointing, but she’s very professional and she knows that stuff happens, particularly with material you shoot early on in production. Films evolve.”

What do you think of the cut? Were you looking forward to seeing Paquin reprise her role? Sound out below!

Even though we haven’t seen this summer’s ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ yet, Bryan Singer took to Twitter today to tease that a new X-Men movie is on it’s way… in 2016!

And the proposed title of the film has us all stoked: ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’. That’s either a reference to one of the X-Men’s biggest villains (um, Apocalypse, duh) or just the fact that things are going to get straight up apocalyptic for Marvel’s band of merry mutants.

Fox confirmed that the movie will be released Memorial Day weekend on May 27, 2016 even though Disney’s ‘Alice in Wonderland 2’ will arrive that same day. Seeing as both of the previous movies in those franchises made big money, look for one of them to shift dates. Disney VS Fox… who’s going to flinch?

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, out this summer, features stars from his original X-Men films and Matthew Vaughn’s ‘X-Men: First Class’, ideally for fans in a move that will streamline the universe in order to move forward towards the previously announced ‘X-Factor’ and ‘Deadpool’ films (and let’s not count out a possible ‘Fantastic 4’ crossover… like that time in the comics where both teams went to Latveria and duked it out with Doom… remember that!?!).

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ is arriving May 23, 204.

Briefly: Following a batch of new stills and a tiny, tiny teaser earlier in the week, Fox has just debuted the first trailer for next year’s highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past!

My current internet connection won’t let me watch streaming video, so be sure to let me know how it is! Take a look at the trailer below, and leave your thoughts in the comments! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Following the tiny teaser released yesterday, Fox has released 12 new stills from next year’s highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The images are a mix of behind-the-scenes and production stills, and while they don’t really reveal anything about the film, they do give us a great sense of what everything is set to look like. The film takes place in 1973, and it’s easy to see from these stills that Singer and crew have crafted a fantastic looking portrait of that time.

Take a look at the new stills below, and let us know what you think! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd, 2014! Be sure to check back for the film’s first trailer on Monday!

Briefly: Marvel just released a fantastic first trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and 20th Century Fox has followed suit with a tiny teaser for X-Men: Days of Future Past.

It clocks in at just seven seconds, so you’ll probably need to watch it a few times to really make sense of what’s going on. As I mentioned yesterday, I hate trailers for trailers, but I’ll forgive this one as I feel like we’ve been waiting for this movie forever.

Take a look at the preview below, and let us know what you think! Look for the full X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer on Tuesday, October 29th!
