Fox has announced that it will be releasing the next installment in the X-Men series in November 2, 2018. Dark Phoenix will be directed by Simon Kinberg, who was a writer for X-Men: The Last Stand, and was a producer for X-Men: Apocalypse, and X-Men: Days of Future Past. This will be Kinberg’s first time in the director’s chair, so we’ll have to see what he does with this addition to the X-Men saga.

Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, and Kodi Smit-McPhee will all be returning for Dark Phoenix. Jessica Chastain, who has an impressive resume including  The Help, The Martian, and Zero Dark Thirty, is in talks to play Shi’ar Empress Lilandra, the main villainess.

Good lord how does she get dressed in the morning?

It was announced on Thursday night that Fox is bringing the critically acclaimed sci-fi show back for 10 episodes. In a press release issued by Fox, 10 all new episodes have been ordered. The show will  be executive produced by creator Chris Carter. Returning to their roles as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, are stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. With production beginning in early August of 2017, the series will air during the 2017-2018 season.

“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why THE X-FILES has such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide,” said David Madden, President of Fox Broadcasting Company. In addition, Madden said, “Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of Dvid and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of THE X-FILES.”

The show, which follows the FBI Agents through their unexplainable and usually paranormal cases, found itself revived on Fox last year, with ratings that averaged nearly 16 million people across various platforms. The show, in it’s original run, which started in 1993, earned 16 Emmy’s, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award.

Also, take a look below at the key art, Fox released in tandem with their announcement.

Briefly: FOX today debuted a new TV spot for its upcoming The Exorcist remake… and if you’re prone to nightmares you might not want to watch this one before bed.

The 30 second spot features some freaky-as-hell imagery, but also that classic theme music that may give you a bad case of intronitus.

Widely regarded as the greatest horror movie ever made, The Exorcist broke box office records and terrified audiences around the world. Now, more than four decades after the Academy Award-nominated film, The Exorcist returns as a TV series. Directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), The Exorcist is a propulsive psychological thriller following two very different priests tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession.

Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera, “Sense8,” “The Chosen”) is the new face of the Catholic Church: progressive, ambitious and compassionate. He runs a small but loyal parish in the suburbs of Chicago. He has no idea that his quiet life is about to change forever. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, another priest finds himself locked in a life-and-death struggle with evil. Father Marcus Brennan (Ben Daniels, “Flesh and Bone,” “House of Cards”) is a modern-day Templar Knight, an orphan raised since childhood by the Vatican to wage war against its enemies. Father Marcus is everything Father Tomas is not: relentless, abrasive and utterly consumed by his sacred mission.

Caught in the middle is the Rance family, members of Tomas’ parish. On the surface, they’re a normal, suburban family, but all is not as it seems in this household. The patriarch, Henry Rance (guest star Alan Ruck, “Spin City,” Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), is slowly but surely losing his mind. Eldest daughter Katherine (Brianne Howey, “Scream Queens”) has become a recluse who refuses to leave her room. Her younger sister, Casey (Hannah Kasulka, “The Fosters”), thinks she’s hearing strange noises coming from inside the walls. And mother Angela (Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Geena Davis, “Commander in Chief,” Thelma & Louise) has been plagued by recurring nightmares, each more frightening than the last. Angela believes there is something in the house, a demonic presence, growing stronger by the day. Desperate, she begs Father Tomas for help, unwittingly setting the naïve young priest on a collision course with Father Marcus. Separately, each faces an insurmountable task, but together they become the only hope against an evil force that has been mobilizing for centuries.

Take a look at the TV spot below, and be sure to let us know what you think. The Exorcist premieres on September 23rd!

FOX today debuted an excellent sneak peek at its upcoming exorcist series, which features a bunch of neat footage as well as interviews with cast and crew.

If you’re still on Gotham‘s wild ride, then you can expect a shake up in Poison Ivy’s character. If you haven’t been following the show, I’ll try explaining this in the simplest way possible.

GothamIvy

Up until now, Ivy Pepper has been portrayed as a young teenager, played by Clare Flory. Following a run-in with a monster in Indian Hill, which happens to be a secret research and testing lab that seems to be cranking out super-villains, Ivy Pepper progresses to the age of 19. Here’s the official run-down:

Following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, Ivy Pepper finds herself reborn, and one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy. Now a 19-year-old woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms, she sets her sights on Bruce Wayne.

MaggieGeha_Gotham

The new Ivy, played by Maggie Geha, is set to take up the role and Ivy’s charms. I expect we’ll see more about this bit of news and more next month at San Diego Comic-Con!

Briefly: Can you even believe this is happening?

I was a big fan of Prison Break through its original run, and as such, I don’t really remember what happened to Michael Scofield and co., simply because it was so damned long ago.

In any case, the first trailer for the upcoming, new season of the series has just hit the web, and it somehow looks both nostalgic and fresh all at the same time.

In the thrilling new event series Prison Break, original series stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar and Paul Adelstein are reunited for an all-new adventure spanning the globe and featuring the signature thrills and cliffhangers that were hallmarks of the original series when it aired on FOX from 2005-2009.

The original action drama centered on MICHAEL SCOFIELD (Miller, “The Loft”), a young man determined to save his convicted brother, LINCOLN BURROWS (Purcell, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”), from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison. In the all-new event series, filmed on location in Morocco, clues surface that suggest a previously thought-to-be-dead Michael may be alive. Lincoln and SARA (Sarah Wayne Callies, “Colony,” “The Walking Dead”), Michael’s wife until he was assumed dead, reunite to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever, as three of Fox River State Penitentiary’s most notorious escapees, SUCRE (Nolasco, “Telenovela”), T-BAG (Knepper, “Heroes”) and C-NOTE (Dunbar, “The Mentalist”), are pulled back into the action.

This is fabulous news!

After the phenomenal success of this years X-Files miniseries, Fox Executives have been in talks with the show’s creators to have another installment of the hit sci-fi show!

At a Fox TV press event today, Chairman Dana Walden was quoted as saying:

We have had conversations with Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. I believe everyone is on board to do another installment of the show. Hopefully this season we will be able to get it done and that the same time next year (May), we will have something to announce.

The next run of X-Files is planned for a 2017-2018 release. No word of when principle filming will begin.

Briefly: Finally!

just finished the first season of FOX’s Wayward Pines last week (and loved every second of it), and I’ve been eagerly awaiting news of the upcoming second season ever since.

Last week we saw the first teaser poster for the upcoming episodes, and today FOX has debuted an awesome first teaser trailer. Yep, it’s full of mystery and doesn’t explain much of anything, but it shows off new and returning cast, and reminds us that this season is set to be all about some new residents.

The 10-episode psychological thriller picks up after the shocking events of the season 1 finale, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) — a new resident of Wayward Pines — awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race. CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou), an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins, is the only one who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited. Megan Fisher (Hope Davis), is in charge of the scientific research being conducted on the Abbies, and remains deeply involved in the development of the hearts and minds of the future of humanity — Wayward Pines’ “First Generation”.

Take a look at the teaser below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Wayward Pines returns on May 25th!

https://youtu.be/fvnu2PBiL3k

Briefly: Yesterday evening, my fiancé and I decided to drive around the dilapidated grounds of Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam, BC.

Many of the buildings in the area look as though they are straight out of a horror film, and interestingly enough, most of the less deathly structures are now used as sets in Vancouver’s booming film and television industry.

After driving by both Wayward Pines Academy and Wayward Pines Hospital, last night we decided to give the series a shot, and five episodes later it’s pretty clear that we’ve instantly fallen in love with it.

Like what the hell is happening in this town!?

Today, Fox debuted a new poster for the upcoming second season, which teases the feral creatures that I’ve only just met (no spoilers please). Take a look at the poster below, and be sure to let us know if you’ll be watching when Wayward Pines returns on May 25th!

Pines

Starring Jason Patric (“Rush,” “Narc”), two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond,” “In America”) and Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Hope Davis (“American Crime,” “The Newsroom”), the 10-episode, second season will pick up after the shocking events of Season One, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. THEO YEDLIN (Patric) – a new resident of Wayward Pines – awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.

Also joining the second season are cast members Tom Stevens (“Cedar Cove”), returning from Season One as JASON HIGGINS, a member of the First Generation and Pilcher’s young acolyte; Nimrat Kaur (“Homeland”) as REBECCA, who has her own secrets she keeps from Theo, her husband; Josh Helman (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past”) as XANDER, a resident working to undermine Wayward Pines from within; and Kacey Rohl (“Hannibal”) as KERRY, one of Jason’s lieutenants in the civil war going on in Wayward Pines.

Additionally, several Season One cast members will appear in Season Two, including Terrence Howard (SHERIFF ARNOLD POPE), Carla Gugino (KATE HEWSON), Toby Jones (DR. JENKINS/DAVID PILCHER), Melissa Leo (NURSE PAM), Tim Griffin (ADAM HASSLER), Shannyn Sossamon (THERESA BURKE) and Charlie Tahan (BEN BURKE).

Briefly: Gotham fans, don’t you dare be sour.

Yeah, I’ve been watching too much WWE recently.

In any case, Fox has just renewed your favourite Batman prequel series for a third season, and added a big cast member.

Variety is reporting that Pee-Wee Herman himself, Paul Reubens will have a guest arc on the series (instead of just an episode), and will portray Elijah Van Dahl, father of Robin Lord Taylor’s Penguin, as was revealed back in October.

David Madden, entertainment president at Fox Broadcasting said that “It takes a very special team to tell the tales of ‘Gotham. For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of ‘Gotham’ and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama. This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn’t be more proud of this show.”

I actually dropped out of Gotham after about five episodes, but just like Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I hear that the series picked up immensely after a troubled opening. Are you enjoying Gotham thus far? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: We’re just a couple of weeks away from Gotham‘s midseason premiere, and Fox has just debuted a new teaser for the upcoming ‘Wrath of the Villains’, showing off many of the various bad dudes (and gals) that Gordon and company will be facing throughout the upcoming episodes.

Now, I’m not exactly caught up on Gotham, so I’m actively avoiding any spoilers for what’s happened thus far, but I’ve heard that Gotham‘s second season has been a pretty stellar offering thus far.

In any care, you can take a look at the teaser below, and let us know what you think! Gotham returns on February 29th!

https://youtu.be/hwMSswV14to

Briefly: We’re still a ways away from Gotham‘s midseason premier in late February, but Fox has just debut a great poster teasing the ‘Wrath of the Villains’, and showing off many of the various bad dudes (and gals) that Gordon and company will be facing throughout the season.

Now, I’m not exactly caught up on Gotham, so I’m actively avoiding any spoilers for what’s happened thus far, but this is a neat looking image that doesn’t give anything away, and reminds me that I have just over a month to get my sh*t together, and get caught up.

Take a look at the image below, and let us know what you think! Gotham returns on February 29th!

GothamWrath

The origin story continues on GOTHAM: RISE OF THE VILLAINS and the stakes are higher than ever, as Super Villains more ambitious and depraved are introduced, and a realignment of alliances shakes up the fight for power in Gotham City.

Detective JIM GORDON (Ben McKenzie) and the ethically questionable veteran Detective HARVEY BULLOCK (Donal Logue) remain at the forefront of the fight against crime in this dangerously corrupt city. While confronting Gotham’s most notorious criminals, Gordon’s moral compass begins to waver. But he is taken under the wing of NATHANIEL BARNES (Michael Chiklis), a law-and-order zealot who is unafraid of making enemies. Meanwhile, Gordon continues his quest to gain the trust of the young BRUCE WAYNE (David Mazouz), who is on a clear path towards the man he is destined to become, after discovering his father’s deepest secrets, with the help of his trusted butler and mentor, ALFRED PENNYWORTH (Sean Pertwee) and newfound ally at Wayne Enterprises, LUCIUS FOX (Chris Chalk).

After the NFC Championship on Sunday, Fox finally aired the first installment of six, brand-new episodes of The X-Files. It’s been 14 long years since we’ve seen Fox Mulder and Dana Scully on our small screens.

THE X-FILES: L-R: Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully and David Duchovny as Fox Mulder. The next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The thrilling, six-episode event series, helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter and starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY, marks the momentous return of the Emmy Award- and Golden Globe-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history. ©2015 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Ed Araquel/FOX

The episode begins with a recap of what The X-Files is, who Mulder and Scully are, what kind of work they did, and what the X-Files were before the division of the FBI was shut down. So, if you have never seen an episode of The X-Files ever in your life, it’s a nice little recap for you so you’re not lost at sea without a life raft.

A key piece of what makes The X-Files is the theme song. We get that. Another key piece is the title sequence, which a lot of people were worried would change due to the technological advances, older actors, new cases; but never fear folks, the title sequence is exactly the same. It still holds that magical mystery and wonder in which perfectly dictates the X-Files show as a whole.

Fox released a 21 minute mini-documentary which explains what the fans can expect from the new episodes. We’ll get our dose of monster of the week, we’ll get the humor episodes, and what the X-Files have become infamous for – their mythology episodes. We also will have some familiar faces such as Annabeth Gish returning and new faces such as Community‘s Joel McHale.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgRUzEdPfHA

McHale plays Ted O’Malley, who is just as obsessed with the unexplained, if not possibly more, as Fox Mulder is. Mulder and Scully are called in to meet with this guy, by AD Skinner, who yes, is still at the FBI. O’Malley takes Mulder and Scully to the middle of quite literally nowhere, which Scully cracks – “Even Aliens can’t find this place.” There they meet a lovely woman named Sveta, played by Annet Mahendru, who, according to her Mulder met when she was a young girl, right after her first abduction.

Sveta was abducted by men, not aliens, boarded onto a ship where they scooped pieces of her stomach out. They impregnated her and then took her unborn baby from her. As she explained to Mulder, Scully, and O’Malley, she has pieces of memories, implants of other memories shielding what actually happened. Sound familiar X-Files fans? Scully listens to Sveta’s tale and as O’Malley explains it to Scully, she brushes him off, shuts him down because Dana Scully knows exactly what Sveta went through. Scully was abducted, had memories implanted for her to screen the actual going ons of what actually occurred during her abduction.

THE X-FILES: L-R: Guest star Annet Mahendru and Gillian Anderson. ©2016 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Ed Araquel/FOX

It is revealed that there is a possibility that Sveta has Alien DNA. In a lab, Scully draws blood from Sveta to test to see if the woman does in fact have Alien DNA in her. Sveta points out that Mulder and Scully once were a couple. Check. They have a son together. Check. Mulder has been depressed and Scully diagnosed him with said depression. Check and Check. How does Sveta know all this? She can read minds and move things. When she tells Scully that she has no idea what they did to Sveta, Scully tries to assure her that she does in fact know. It’s not until Sveta reads Dana’s mind, that she corrects her statement. Dana Scully does know.

O’Malley takes Mulder to an un-disclosed location where in the middle of what looks like an airplane hangar is an ARV, otherwise known as an Alien Replica Vehicle. They built it and are able to fly it using free energy. Technology they’ve had since the 1940’s. Another thing that tipped off the red flag of Fox Mulder, the fact that they were able to make it disappear and he witnessed it happening. In a quick series of events, right after O’Malley announces to the world that he knows Dana Scully, Sveta is on television saying O’Malley put words in her mouth, apologizes to anyone who she may have fooled, Scully checks O’Malley’s site and it’s been shut down. The building in which the ARV is being held, gets infiltrated by Men and blown with the ARV in it and the scientists working on it, still inside.

There were a few surprises at the end. 1. Sveta gets blown up in her car, by what looks like an alien space ship. 2. Scully re-ran the DNA from Sveta, compared it to her own and they BOTH have Alien DNA. 3. The cigarette smoking man is BACK. And while, yes, he did get blown up, he was brought back and his face and hands are obviously damaged. How did he get saved? No one knows. Will Sveta be saved in the same fashion?

So with that all in mind, what did you guys think? And be sure to catch the next few episodes every Monday night on Fox.

Briefly: Finally. I was getting just a little bit worried that we wouldn’t see Scream Queens continue.

Fox has just revealed that it has renewed the hilarious (and sometimes terrifying) series for a second season.

This time around, the series will be strictly off-campus, and will instead focus on a hospital “where some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation.”

Sounds good to me.

Fox has not revealed at this time which season one performers will be returning, but as Deadline notes, most of the core stars are thought to have multi-year contracts, so it’s likely we’ll be seeing Lea Michelle, Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, and many others in completely different roles later this year.

In any case, I was a huge fan of the series’ campy-as-hell first season, and I can’t wait to see where Murphy and crew take a hospital setting (which I’m actually surprised we haven’t really seen in Murphy’s other horror series, American Horror Story).

What do you think of the renewal? Were you a fan of the first season? Sound out below!

Briefly: Following the hilarious IMAX trailer (and stylish poster) from last week, Fox has just debuted a trio of new stills from next year’s anticipated Deadpool film.

Sure, the images don’t reveal much from the upcoming feature… aside from Negasonic Teenage Warhead wearing a New Mutants uniform, which is pretty freaking cool.

Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Take a look at the images below, and let us know what you hope to see in the final film! Deadpool hits (North American) theatres on February 12th!

Briefly: Oh man. More marketing to drum up excitement for The X-Files. Anyone feel like ever teasers, to the full trailer, to the stylish posters, and beyond have been stellar thus far?

Yeah, me too. Fox knows that they have a hit on their hands (and a good one, based on the impressions that we heard from NYCC back in October), and are doing all that they can to drive the hype to astronomical levels.

That trend continues with a huge 21 minute featurette for the upcoming series. In the video, we go behind the scenes with Chris Carter, David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and all the key players as they reveal secrets from the set and take you on the epic journey of bringing this classic series back to Fox.

Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES will be a thrilling, six-episode event series helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history. Production on THE X-FILES event series is set to begin in summer 2015.

THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny), as they investigate unexplained cases – “X-Files” – for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

In any case, trust no one, take a look at the lengthy featurette below, and let us know what you hope to see in the January 24th premiere!

Briefly: Gotham won’t return to FOX until February, but the network has already debuted a new look at Mr. Freeze in the upcoming second half of season two.

Now, I’m not exactly caught up on Gotham, so I’m actually avoiding teasers like this at this point, but shortly following the series’ Winter finale, Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller let TVLine know a little about what to expect from the character, noting that “He absolutely has an agenda. We’re telling the Freeze story in classic style, from its origins. What you saw there is the “beta test.” It’s very early on in the story of Mr. Freeze.”

In any case, you can take a look at the new teaser below (US residents only, sorry world), and let us know what you’re excited to see when Gotham returns!

The good. The evil. The beginning.

Briefly: Just last week it was revealed that FOX was developing a Rambo television series, tentatively titled Rambo: New Blood.

At the time, it was unknown whether or not series star Sylvester Stallone would appear in the series, but it looked as though he was at least attached to executive produce.

Now, it (sadly) looks like that’s not the case. A new report from Deadline notes that Stallone’s representatives stated that  “Contrary to reports, Sylvester Stallone has opted not to participate in the planned Rambo television series in any way at all.”

Stallone himself added “I wish the others well with the project.”

It’s certainly a little sad, as Stallone’s involvement is certainly what had me most exciting for the in-development series. As a huge Rambo fan, in any case, I’ll certainly be giving it a chance whether he’s associated with it or not.

Are you looking forward to the series? Even knowing just how much Rambo‘s intense violence will have to be toned down to even make it on television? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: Anyone feel like the marketing for next year’s too-short ‘The X-Files’ run has been pretty phenomenal so far?

Yeah, me too. From the first teasers, to the full trailerstylish posters, and beyond, Fox knows that they have a hit on their hands (and a good one, based on the impressions that we heard from NYCC last month), and are doing all that they can to drum up excitement from fans of the original series.

That trend continues with another just-released promo poster for the upcoming episodes. Sure, it may not be quite as cool as that last batch of images was, but at this point every. little. piece. of The X-Files marketing is beyond exciting for me.

In any case, trust no one, take a look at the new image below, and let us know what you hope to see in the January 24th premiere!

According to Deadline, Fox has inked a deal with Sylvester Stallone to develop and executive produce a ‘Rambo‘ series tentatively titled ‘Rambo: New Blood‘ . The series is rumored to explore the complex relationship between Rambo and his son, J.R., an ex-Navy SEAL. It’s still not clear whether or not Stallone will be a main stay on the show or just show up in the pilot as a introduction for J.R. since it has never been previously mentioned that Rambo ever fathered a child.

A fifth ‘Rambo’ movie has been in the works for years. The most recent news was that the final movie would be ‘Rambo: Last Stand’, that would have seen Rambo taking the fight to Mexican drug cartels. I would have loved to see this version of a Rambo going head to head with Danny Trejo in a ‘El Mariachi’ style of movie.

Are you excited for a ‘RAMBO’ T.V. series? Let us know in the comments.

That trend continues with three just-released promo posters for the upcoming episodes. They may just be my favourite images of the upcoming series yet.

Briefly: Back in September, Nintendo fans everywhere were disappointed to learn that the company’s upcoming Star Fox Zero would not be making its 2015 release window. In the delay announcement, an apologetic Miyamoto noted that “the game will not be delayed for a very long time – we’re aiming to launch the game in Q1 2016.”

As revealed at yesterday’s Nintendo Direct presentation, it looks like that game won’t quite make that Q1 release, but will instead hit the Wii U on April 22nd, 2016.

So, fans, we’ve got just five more months of waiting. At least we’ll have that Falco Amiibo to pick up on November 20th, right?

Are you looking forward to Star Fox Zero? Since you won’t be playing it this holiday season, what will draw your gaming attention instead? Sound out below!

A trio of new promotional photos for the new episodes of The X-Files were tweeted out by Mitch Pileggi, the actor who portrays Walter Skinner in the series. For those unfamiliar with the original television show, the story follows Special Agents Mulder  and Scully, played David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson respectively, as they investigate cases related to paranormal phenomena.

This new series will consist of standalone episodes that serve to flesh out the show’s world. With the exception of three episodes written and directed by Chris Carter, the series will once again be written and directed by Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan, and James Wong. Viewers can look forward to guest appearances by Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Annabeth Gish, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani, and William B. Davis.

The first new episode of The X-Files will make a special debut on Fox on Sunday, January 24 at 7pm Pacific/ 10pm Eastern. The show will then join Lucifer on Monday, January 25 at 8pm Pacific/Eastern, then continue to air on Mondays.

Starting January 2016, Lucifer will debut on Fox along with the second portion of the rebooted X-Files. The comic book-based TV show was written by Mike Carey, Peter Gross, Ryan Kelly, and Dean Ormston and stars Tom Ellis as the titular Demon Lord.

The plot follows Lucifer, now retired, spending his time as a running a nightclub and assisting the Los Angeles Police Department on the side. Alongside Ellis, the show will also feature Lesley-Ann Brandt, Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, and Rachael Harris as Lucifer’s therapist. Lucifer is currently planned to run for eight episodes.

Lucifer will premier on Monday, January 25 at 9pm Pacific on Fox.

That trend continues with the latest look at the upcoming season. I almost feel, however, that at the current rate that Fox is promoting new footage for the upcoming six episodes, there isn’t going to be any new footage to see come January’s premiere!
