I usually like to build up to the whole “take a look a the trailer” thing but this one for Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is so good it needs no introduction.

You watched it, right? Good. So now for the summary part. This video admittedly doesn’t tip its hand in terms of plot but that is forgivable given that it is merely a sneak trailer rather than a full one. What we do see is the same humor and heart that made the original Guardians of the Galaxy so great. And come on, who didn’t miss that soundtrack?

There is clearly some romantic conflict between Peter Quill (although he prefers to known as Star-Lord) and Gamora. We also see snippets of Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Yandu, Nebula, and Baby Groot (who is adorable, by the way!). According to ComicBook.com, the film will follow the group’s journey to learn the truth about Peter’s father. There seems to be a focus on the concept of “family” with Gamora’s sister, Nebula, adding additional issues (the whole trying-to-kill-them thing).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters May 5, 2017.

Charlize Theron’s days of sitting behind the wheel are not over yet. After a strong 2015, mainly stemming from her role as ‘Furiosa’ in Mad Max: Fury Road, Theron is now ready to test her driving skills in the next Fast and Furious movie.

Universal Pictures and the Emmy award-winning actress have agreed on a deal which would give her a feature role in the latest installment of the Fast and Furious franchise which is simply called ‘Fast 8’. The film is set to begin principal photography this May and will be directed by F. Gary Gray and will feature returning  cast members Vin, Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, and Tyrese Gibson.

With Charlize Theron joining such an all-star cast, it looks as if Fast 8 has a solid shot of surpassing the success of Furious 7, but what do you think? Is Theron a perfect fit or is she miscast? Let us know what you think!

Briefly: Guardians of the Galaxy is still my favourite Marvel Studios film, and as such I could not be more excited to start seeing stills and footage from the now-in-production feature.

Marvel has just revealed that the film is officially in production, revealed the first behind-the-scenes photo for the film, and confirmed the film’s returning cast, and a big new addition: Kurt Russell.

What’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 about? Well, we don’t exactly know yet, but Marvel notes “Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.”

We’re in. That’s all the synopsis that we need.

Take a look at the image below, and keep scrolling for the full announcement from Marvel. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theatres on May 5th, 2017!

In addition, the film’s soundtrack went platinum and was nominated for a Grammy®.

Based on the Marvel comic characters first published in 1969, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ” continues the lineage of epic big-screen adventures chronicled in “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “The Avengers,” “Iron Man 3,” “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Ant-Man,” and the upcoming release schedule, which includes “Captain America: Civil War” on May 6, 2016; “Doctor Strange,” November 4, 2016; “Spider-Man,” July 7, 2017; and “Thor: Ragnarok” on November 3, 2017.

Marvel Studios continued its unprecedented success in 2015 with the release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” At the time of release, the film recorded the second biggest opening weekend of all time with a $191.3 million box office. It has also been the #1 release in every country where it has opened and has grossed over $1.4 billion in global box office. The studio also successfully launched another franchise with “Ant-Man,” starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly. The film opened #1 at the box office on July 17 and went on to gross more than $519 million at the worldwide box office. The film propelled the Marvel brands’ #1 domestic box-office opening streak to a record-breaking 12 consecutive films.

Vin Diesel’s new movie ‘The Last Witch Hunter’ has just debuted a new trailer, as well as some posters.

It reminds of the “I, Frankenstein” and “Dracuala Untold” type of film. Let me tell you, I really enjoyed both of those movies so I’m really looking forward to checking this one out too. It’s OK to go out to the movies to just have some great fun, and this is definitely one of those movies.

Here’s the official synopsis for the Breck Eisner-directed film:

“The modern world holds many secrets, but the most astounding secret of all is that witches still live amongst us; vicious supernatural creatures intent on unleashing the Black Death upon the world. Armies of witch hunters battled the unnatural enemy across the globe for centuries, including Kaulder, a valiant warrior who managed to slay the all-powerful Queen Witch, decimating her followers in the process. In the moments right before her death, the Queen curses Kaulder with her own immortality, forever separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife.

Today Kaulder is the only one of his kind remaining, and has spent centuries hunting down rogue witches, all the while yearning for his long-lost loved ones. However, unbeknownst to Kaulder, the Queen Witch is resurrected and seeks revenge on her killer causing an epic battle that will determine the survival of the human race.”

‘The Last Witch Hunter’ is out at theaters on October 23, 2015

Briefly: This sounds completely ridiculous, but it also looks a little bit bad-ass. I didn’t know that The Last Witch Hunter existed until today, but it’s definitely on my radar now.

In the film, “The modern world holds many secrets, but the most astounding secret of all is that witches still live amongst us; vicious supernatural creatures intent on unleashing the Black Death upon the world. Yeah it sounds silly, but Vin looks so damned cool. Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Last Witch Hunter hits theatres on October 23rd!

Briefly: I’ve admittedly skipped out on the Fast & Furious series to this point (well, I did see the first film, but I was eleven). That’s definitely something that I need to change, however, as after seeing today’s Super Bowl spot for April’s Furious 7, I cannot wait to see what this franchise has to offer.

The spot is totally fantastic, and totally ridiculous. I don’t want to give away too much, so here it is:

I can’t even. Furious 7 hits theatres on April 3rd.

Briefly: I’ve admittedly skipped out on the Fast & Furious series to this point (well, I did see the first film, but I was eleven). That’s all about to change however, as after watching the just-released trailer for next April’s Furious 7, I cannot wait to watch through the franchise.

It’s definitely set to be bittersweet, as of course the film was still in production when Paul Walker had his tragic accident. But this trailer is absolutely phenomenal, and totally ridiculous. I don’t want to give away too much, so here it is:

Yep. They drive out of a flying plane. Super ridiculous, and super awesome. In any case, colour me excited, and I’m definitely going to start the series as soon as possible.

Are you looking forward to the film? Are you confident in James Wan’s direction? Sound out below! Furious 7 hits theatres on April 3rd.

Briefly: Guardians of the Galaxy is awesome. A ton of you saw the movie this past weekend, and a lot of you probably saw it more than once (I’m definitely in that camp, and I’ll probably see it again before it leaves theatres).

Did you know that Star Lord’s ship, the Milano, is largely physical and doesn’t actually utilize a lot of CGI? At least on the inside, that is. In a very Cribs-esque video, Guardians star Chris Pratt shows us around the surprisingly detailed environment.

Take a look at the short video below, and let us know what you think! What was your favourite part of the film?

Miss our shenanigans from the red carpet? Check them out below!

Briefly: Two days ago we debuted a brand new Geekscape episode in which Jonathan, Shane O’Hare, our new friend Stanley Wong and I talk about our experiences at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. For Jonathan and me, however, our geek spring break began one day earlier when we attended the world premiere of Marvel’s latest, Guardians of the Galaxy.

You can listen to the episode (in which I don’t really understand how a microphone works and am entirely too quiet throughout) for our full thoughts on the film, but you can also check out the video below to see just how much fun we had.

Jonathan is no stranger to selfies (my Facebook feed is constantly flooded with them), and he decided to go for some video selfies with the Guardians stars as well as some of the other celebrities walking down the red carpet. The results are pretty hilarious (especially the reaction from Elizabeth Henstridge).

Take a look at the video below, and be sure to subscribe and share if you enjoy it! We’ve got plenty more coming down the pipeline, so stay tuned!

Looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy? Sound out below!

Briefly: Marvel has just debuted a new 1+ minute TV spot for next August’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

The video changes up the film’s music selection (Cherry Bomb instead of Hooked on a Feeling), and also delves into why Peter is so keen on saving the galaxy. We also see more combat, and a few more humorous clips of those a-holes arguing.

Guardians of the Galaxy looks like a blast, and we cannot wait to see the full feature. Take a look at the new spot below, and let us know what you think! Guardians hits theatres on August 1st.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchise of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team–the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits -Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand–with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Briefly: Marvel has just released a brand new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, and it’s definitely the best one yet.

The new trailer takes us far deeper into the characters (and what they’re about to face) than we’ve seen so far. We get a look at Star Lord’s past, Rocket gets a few more lines, and Groot… well, says “I am Groot” in another location. It’s awesome.

It’s also pretty much all new footage, so there’s that. If you’re trying to avoid spoiling much in the film, stay away from this one. In any case, August can’t come soon enough. Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: They’ve been teasing it all week, and now it’s finally here: the newest trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy.

The new preview shows off a ton of new action, and also lets us hear Bradley Cooper’s Rocket and Vin Diesel’s Groot for the first time. It doesn’t dig too deep into the film’s plot, but its pretty clear that the universe views the group as a band of criminals (and A-holes), and that they’re going to fight something sinister.

You can take a look at the new trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see when Guardians of the Galaxy hits theatres on August 1st!

Briefly: In the wake of Paul Walker’s tragic death just over a month ago, the seventh chapter in the Fast and the Furious series was put on an indefinite hold, and if rumours can be believed, nearly cancelled completely.

In late December, series star and Paul’s close friend Vin Diesel revealed a new release date for the film (April 10th, 2015). Now, THR has learned that Walker’s character, Bran O’Connor, will be “retired” from the franchise, rather than killed off. According to the article, director James Wan and writers Chris Morgan and Jeffrey Kirschenbaum have decided to “tweak the existing script so that Walker would remain a part of the story but could be written out,” and that he’ll be retired in a way that “will satisfy fans of the franchise and make use of the existing footage of Walker.”

In any case, it won’t be the same without him. It’s certainly going to be bittersweet seeing this one on opening night.

Are you happy with the decision? Are you still looking forward to the film? Fast & Furious 7 hits theatres on April 10th, 2015.

Briefly: It was just last week that Marvel (finally) officially revealed Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot in James Gunn’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, and now the studio has debuted both the first still and synopsis for the anticipated film.

The still was first shown off at this past Summer’s San Diego Comic Con, and features Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel). Take a look at the still and synopsis below, and let us know what you think! Guardians of the Galaxy hits theatres on August 1st, 2014!

Briefly: In the wake of Paul Walker’s tragic death just a few weeks ago, the seventh chapter in the Fast and the Furious series was put on an indefinite hold, and if rumours can be believed, nearly cancelled completely.

Series star and Paul’s close friend, Vin Diesel, revealed on his official Facebook page an image from the final scene that the pair shot together, and also announced the new release date for the film. Here is the text in full:

The last scene we filmed together…

There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come…

Fast and Furious 7 will be released…

April 10th 2015!

P.s. He’d want you to know first…

There you have it. The film hasn’t been cancelled (which director James Wan had already announced), and instead has moved from its original release date of July 11, 2014 to April 10th, 2015. Take a look at the image Diesel shared below, and let us know your thoughts on the change.

Briefly: Are you ready for a little déjà vu before the end of the year?

Marvel just officially revealed that Vin Diesel is Groot in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy… even though Diesel kinda let it slip himself all the way back in August of this year.

The announcement offered no new revelations about the film, but did offer a sweet photo of Diesel next to our first official look at the character he’ll be voicing. Take a look at the photo below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Fast & Furious 7 is less than a year away at this point, meaning that James Wan and crew are hard at work crafting the franchise’s next sequel.

Wan today shared a neat set photo from the film, featuring the venerable director leaning on a beautiful Aston Martin. The photo is complete with the caption: “my villain drives a nice set of wheels. #astonmartin”, so it’s safe to say that the vehicle probably belongs to Jason Statham’s character.

Briefly: Vin Diesel has again taken to Facebook to show off some set photos of his latest film.

Today, that film is Fast & Furious 7, and the shared photo gives us our first look at Kurt Russell in the flick.

Diesel states that Russell is “such an honor to work with”. Take a look at the photo below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the movie! The James Wan directed Fast & Furious 7 hits theatres on July 11th, 2014!

Russell

Briefly: I dropped out of the Fast & Furious series years ago, but as we all learned when Fast & Furious 6 hit theatres this Summer, the series is more popular than ever.

Now that both Paul Walker and Vin Diesel have returned as series regulars, fans have wondered if the Tokyo Drifter, Lucas Black, would be returning as well. Deadline learned today that Lucas is indeed set to return to the franchise, and for more than one film too. Along with the anticipated Fast 7, which is set to hit theatres next July, he’ll appear in at least two further instalments.

That’s a lot of Fast & Furious.

Are you happy to see the actor return? Or do you wish that Sean Boswell would just stay in Japan? Sound out below!

Briefly: It looks like Vin Diesel’s secret Marvel role won’t be Vision OR Thanos, as many have been speculating for some time now.

Yesterday, Diesel himself posted a picture of Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Groot on his Facebook wall. The photo was briefly set as the actor’s cover photo, but has since been taken down (though you can still find it by looking through the timeline).

Deadline has since confirmed that Diesel is indeed in talks to join Guardians of the Galaxy, and if all goes well, he’ll be the voice of the CG, tree-like character, Groot.

This would mark yet another great addition to the already stellar cast of Guardians of the Galaxy. So far, the film stars Karen Gillan, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, John C. Reilly, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, Djimon Hounsou, and more!

Would you be a fan of Diesel in the role? Anyone else you’d rather see? Sound out below!

Briefly: Following the extended, red band trailer released at Comic-Con, Universal Pictures has debuted another theatrical trailer for David Twohy’s highly anticipated Riddick.

While the new preview does feature snippets of new footage, the bulk of it is simply the same footage that we’ve seen over (and over) again. It’s definitely worth a watch, however, and certainly does a good job of reigniting my excitement for the film.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to Riddick!

Prepare for the latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000′s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004′s The Chronicles of Riddick.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered.

The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

Briefly: The anticipated release of David Twohy’s Riddick is fast approaching, and at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Universal Studios unveiled an awesome new motion comic that bridged the gap between 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick and its upcoming sequel.

Universal has just released the motion comic online, and as expected, it’s pretty damn cool. The video clocks in at just over five minutes, and if you have any interest in seeing Riddick when it launches on September 6th, you’re definitely going to want to watch this first.

Watch the Riddick motion comic, titled ‘Blindsided’ below, and let us know if you’re excited!

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy

Briefly: During this year’s Comic-Con, Universal Pictures released a bloody new trailer for David Twohy’s Riddick.

The new preview features much of what we’ve already seen, just… bloodier and a little more violent. Same opening, same mercenaries, same ol’ Vin Diesel; don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome trailer for what looks to be an awesome film, but I was hoping for a little more new footage than what we saw.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think! Riddick opens on September 6th!
