Briefly: Ubisoft’s long awaited RPG, South Park: The Stick of Truth, has been delayed to 2014.

It seems as though Ubisoft is having a hard time making release dates this year, as early last month the publisher delayed Watch Dogs to 2014, and also pushed The Crew back an entire quarter.

Ubisoft has also debuted a new gameplay video for the game, clocking in at a cool 7-minutes, and showing off some pretty fantastic-looking moments. I’m not a big South Park fan myself (the show is hilarious, I just haven’t made a point to watch it), but the game should definitely be worth checking out.

Take a look at the new video below, and let us know what you think! South Park: The Stick of Truth is now set to release on March 4th, 2014.

In their latest adventure, the boys embark on a quest to the Inn of the Giggling Donkey, an infamous tavern that harbors the scum of all the realm.

There, it is believed the famed Bard guards the hallowed stick of truth. In order to defeat the Bard’s followers, you’ll have to throw everything you have at the enemy, including dodge balls and farts. Poison your foes with your flatulence, and refill your mana with burritos.

Along with your party member Butters and his legendary hammer of justice, play through the most outrageous turn-based live-action role-playing adventure that could only come from the creators of South Park. This is South Park: The Stick of Truth.

Briefly: Just catching up on some news after this weekend’s fantastic Comikaze Expo, and this piece definitely caught my eye.

Nintendo has announced plans to debut an awesome lineup of new shows for the Fall season. Five series have been announced, including shorts based on The Legend of Zelda and Pikmin (which also reminds me that I still need to pick up Pikmin 3).

Here’s Nintendo’s description of the new shows (including Pendleton Ward’s fantastic Bravest Warriors):

The Legend of Zelda: The Misadventures of Link: This original series of comedic shorts shows Link, the series’ star, in a new and hysterical light. His surroundings will be familiar to fans of the series, since the shorts are based on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD game for the Wii U console.

Pikmin Nature Documentaries: These “nature documentaries” explore the wonderful world of the tiny Pikmin. The animations, highlighted by dramatic voiceover work, are a tongue-in-cheek take on safari nature shows.

Bravest Warriors: The latest hit show created by Pendleton Ward, the mind behind Adventure Time, follows four teenage heroes-for-hire as they warp through galaxies to save adorable aliens and their worlds using the power of their emotions. The series is produced by Frederator Studios and launched on the Cartoon Hangover channel on YouTube. New episodes of Bravest Warriors will appear every Friday on Nintendo Video.

Wildheart Riukiu: This new series of 3D shorts comes from the creator of Meat or Die, which has already amassed more than 5 million views on Nintendo Video. Wildheart Riukiu incorporates charming 16-bit graphics with some not-so-charming, but hilarious, characters. Think ninja puppets.

Bee and PuppyCat: A Cartoon Hangover Shorts fan favorite, this two-part series by Natasha Allegri follows Bee, an out-of-work 20-something who has a life-changing collision with a mysterious creature she names PuppyCat.

I’ve never opened up Nintendo Video in the almost-year that I’ve owned my 3DS. I’ll definitely be checking these out though. Which show are you most excited for? Sound out below!

Briefly: This is absolutely wonderful.

Almost everyone remembers that amazing 2011 trailer for Dead Island that re-announced the long-in-development game. From the haunting music, to the beautiful landscapes, to the silent, slow motion destruction. I still vividly remember the video, even though it’s been well over a year since I’ve seen it. That trailer may just be the best video game trailer ever made.

Machinima today launched a shot-for-shot, live action adaptation of that beloved trailer. Featuring the same iconic music, the production team matched the emotion and action of the original down to the smallest detail. This thing is exact, and it’s just as (if not more since you’re seeing real people here) haunting as the original.

Take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think. I’m just going to go cry now.

http://youtu.be/EUksUq1EzMM

Briefly: I’ve been beyond excited for this one ever since it was revealed at SDCC. Now I’m glad to know just when I’ll be able to get my (digital) hands on it!

Namco Bandai took to Facebook today and revealed the release date of the highly anticipated (at least by me) Soul Calibur II HD Online. Here’s what they said:

We are pleased to announce that SOULCALIBUR II HD ONLINE will be available worldwide on November 20th on the Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

One of the best fighting games of all-time, SOULCALIBUR II returns this year with new high definition graphics and all-new online modes in celebration for its 10 year anniversary.

As a reminder, SPAWN and HEIHACHI, originally exclusive guest characters for each platform, will be for the first time ever playable on both platforms.

Check out the exclusive Main Visual revealed for the occasion!

Don’t forget to share your thoughts and comments!

I cannot wait to play this. I can’t even recall how many hours I sunk into the original release of Soul Calibur II (on the GameCube, of course, as who didn’t want to fight as Link), and ow with improved visuals and online play, I’m sure to do it again.

Will you be picking up the title? Who’s your favourite fighter? Sound out below!

Based on the short included in the Kickstarter video, this project definitely looks like one worth backing.

It’s called Anna, and it’s a horror film based on true events by Justing Lareau. Anna follows the journey of Dr. Miller, a man who’s life drastically changes when he is visited by a teenage girl displaying the same bizarre symptoms to a past case; a case that continues to haunt him. Accepting that possession exists will be his most difficult challenge, but his fight is not only to accept possession and save the life of an innocent girl, but he will have to confront demons of his own in his old house. The humanity of the story and the dynamic relationship between Dr. Miller and the entity is sure to take you on a terrifying roller-coaster ride of epic proportions.

The project is set for production in Watseka, Illinois in June of next year, but it needs your help. To ensure that Anna becomes the best film that it can be, Lareau and Mulberry Street Films have set a reasonable campaign goal of $25,000. These funds will be used for visual FX, sound FX, and sound design, which of course are some of the most important aspects of a horror film (we’ve all seen horror movies with shitty sound, and it absolutely ruins them).

Of course, there are some great rewards in it for backers. Everything from DVD’s, downloads, t-shirts, autographs, tours, parties, and more! It’s a really awesome bunch of rewards, for a really awesome-looking project!

Take a look at the (creepy) Kickstarter video for Anna below (followed by an interview with the actress who will take on the role of Anna, Alexis Johnson). Head here to back, and be sure to let us know what you think!

Briefly: First announced back in April, the premiere trailer for the adaptation of Sony and Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword has just debuted online.

This animated adaptation is coming from Blockade Entertainment, and Anna Torv is set to return as Nariko. I never actually got a chance to play Heavenly Sword, but this adaptation definitely looks like something I’d check out.

Watch the first trailer below, and let us know what you think! Heavenly Sword is set to hit VOD and select theatres in Spring of 2014!

Briefly: The deal was rumoured to be complete early this month, but now that rumour has been made official: Aaron Taylor-Johnson is Quicksilver in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

This, of course, is the second Quicksilver to be cast this year, as Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past (which just got its first trailer yesterday) will feature American Horror Story‘s Evan Peters as the character.

Are you looking forward to Age of Ultron? Which portrayal of Quicksilver do you think you’ll prefer? Sound out below!

Briefly: Following Telltale’s teaser earlier this week, the first trailer for the second season of The Walking Dead adventure game has just been revealed.

Clementine’s back! According to the press release, many months have passed since the events seen in Season One of The Walking Dead, and Clementine is searching for safety. But what can an ordinary child do to stay alive when the living can be just as bad — and sometimes worse — than the dead?

As Clementine, you will be tested by situations and dilemmas that will test your morals and your instinct for survival. Your decisions and actions will change the story around you, in this sequel to 2012’s Game of the Year.

This first trailer doesn’t reveal much about the title, but it’s awesome to learn that Clementine has taken the spotlight again (and that we’ll actually get to play as her). We’ve known for some time that she would be involved in the second season, but not that she would be the central character. Telltale has also revealed that the choices that you made in both Season One and 400 Days will affect your story in Season Two.

Take a look at the first trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Walking Dead: Season Two will begin later this year on PS3, Xbox 360, OS X, Windows, and iOS! The game is available for pre-order now on Steam and the Telltale Store, and pre-ordering will get you a cool 10% off! This is the announcement that I’ve been waiting for since Season One concluded last year!

Briefly: Following a batch of new stills and a tiny, tiny teaser earlier in the week, Fox has just debuted the first trailer for next year’s highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past!

My current internet connection won’t let me watch streaming video, so be sure to let me know how it is! Take a look at the trailer below, and leave your thoughts in the comments! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Briefly: Gamers, you have seen the first season of Fallout: Nuka Break, haven’t you?

Nuka Break‘s original release was a 16-minute long fan film that hit YouTube all the way back in 2011. It was so popular, that the fine folks over at Wayside Creations turned the property into a webseries.

Back in April 2012, a Kickstarter Campaign to fund a second season if the series began. During its two month-duration, the campaign raised a fantastic $130,746 of its $60,000 goal, meaning that fans would indeed get a second season, and it would be awesome.

Season 2 of Fallout: Nuka Break is finally here. Finding our heroes right where we left them at the end of the beloved first season, the season begins with Eastwood being threatened with nuclear destruction. With Ben’s health declining and the threat of Leon’s presence, Scar, Ben, and Twig find themselves separated and in more danger than ever.  If they want to rid the world of Leon’s evil once and for all, they must each face their own demons and, ultimately, make a sacrifice.

Sounds great, right? You can watch the entire 10-episode second season of Fallout: Nuka Break below, and be sure to let us know what you think!

Briefly: With less than one month to go until The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theatres, LionsGate has just debuted the final trailer for the anticipated sequel.

I wasn’t overly impressed (or impressed at all, really) with the first film in the series, but everything I’ve seen from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has looked like a substantial improvement. I’m actually really looking forward to donning my Katniss costume on November 22nd, and jumping in line at my local cinema.

Just kidding about the costume…

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited! What did you think of last year’s The Hunger Games?

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Briefly: Telltale Games has just teased the second season of The Walking Dead.

The developer took to twitter tonight with a classic quote and a nostalgic image. “Keep that hair short” was an instruction that Lee gave to Clementine last season, and the image will be clearly familiar to anyone who has played the game (and all of you have played the game, right?)

The image also has a date on it: this Tuesday, October 29th at 12PM (3PM Eastern). Whether it’s a first trailer, the first details, or the release of the first episode is unknown at this point, but all of us at Geekscape are excited as hell for this one. Telltale revealed back at SDCC that season two would feature Clementine, and I really can’t wait jump back into this world!

Take a look at Telltale’s tweet below, and let us know what you hope they’ll reveal! I’ll be hopping on a plane to LA during the announcement, and I feel as though this is all I’ll be thinking about the entirety of the flight!

Briefly: We all know how awesome Monty Python is. It’s rare that more than a few days go by in which I don’t hear someone talking about the series or quoting some classic Python quotes, which seems crazy to me seeing as the group hasn’t released new content in over 30 years.

Sure, there’s been a lot (a lot) of Monty Python gear over the years, but the Monty Python Is Awesome! Kickstarter has to feature some of the coolest. It’s an entire collection of beautifully designed clothing and art prints that fit together. Each and every piece follows the same style and design cues, and each and every piece looks unbelievable compared to the myriad of other disconnected goods available today.

Python

This stuff is so nice that Monty Python Is Awesome! has already surpassed its Kickstarter goal. The campaign still has a sweet 22 days to go, and with the holiday season fast approaching, I’m sure that many Python fans would love to unwrap some of these great goods.

Take a look at the Monty Python Is Awesome! Kickstarter video below, and head here to back the project!

Briefly: Double Fine Productions’ Costume Quest surprised all of us when it suddenly appeared on the iOS App Store just a few weeks ago.

To celebrate the fact that Halloween is nearly here, the game has just gone on sale for the first time. Normally, the title would cost you a very reasonable $4.99, but through October 31st, Costume Quest is available for $2.99 (plus the DLC expansion is now just $0.99)!

If you’re an iOS user, you should be jumping on the opportunity to play this lauded, extremely overlooked gem. Head here to download, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: After showing us the DLC’s first five minutes earlier this month, Irrational Games has revealed just when we’ll be able to get our hands on Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea.

The first episode in the two-part Burial At Sea will launch on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Windows, and OS X on November 12th. The DLC costs a cool $14,99, though it’s probably a better idea to just buy the Season Pass for $19.99 which will also include episode two (plus the already released Clash in the Clouds DLC).

If you’re unaware, Burial at Sea takes Booker and Elizabeth (unbeknownst to their previous relationship) all the way down to Rapture on its fateful day, December 31, 1958. This, of course, is the night that Rapture fell, and is a night that hasn’t yet been explored in the series. Here, we’re set to live it. You’ll join Booker and Elizabeth in a film noir-style story that places them in a shining, pristine Rapture on the eve of its fall from grace. Explore the underwater city, try your hand at a grift or two, and even encounter some old “friends” from the original BioShock.

“This is a love letter to the fans, but it’s also the beginning of a story that will give gamers a new perspective on theBioShock universe,” said Ken Levine, creative director of Irrational Games. “With Burial at Sea, we built a Rapture not from BioShock and BioShock Infinite scraps and pieces, but with environments almost entirely crafted from scratch.”

Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? Rewatch the Burial at Sea reveal trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be downloading the DLC!

Following the tiny teaser released yesterday, Fox has released 12 new stills from next year’s highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The images are a mix of behind-the-scenes and production stills, and while they don’t really reveal anything about the film, they do give us a great sense of what everything is set to look like. The film takes place in 1973, and it’s easy to see from these stills that Singer and crew have crafted a fantastic looking portrait of that time.

Take a look at the new stills below, and let us know what you think! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd, 2014! Be sure to check back for the film’s first trailer on Monday!

Briefly: This looks like a fantastic print. I just may have to pick one up from Odd City since I can’t make the screening myself (I loved the movie, but won’t arrive in Los Angeles until the next day).

Fans of Michael Dougherty’s cult classic horror movie Trick ‘r Treat will have another way to celebrate this film’s theatrical screening/panel this coming Monday as Odd City Entertainment will be releasing a Trick ‘r Treat limited edition print by JAMES FOSDIKE to commemorate the event! All fans who attend the screening will receive one of the limited edition prints (image attached). Additionally, 100 numbered prints and 85 glow-in-the-dark variant edition prints will go on sale at the Odd City Entertainment store the following day. The poster was printed with eight inks on French Whip Cream paper and printed by Half and Half.

“I was very honoured to be asked to illustrate a poster for Trick ‘r Treat,” Fosdike said. “It’s a wonderfully clever and surprising Halloween film with such an iconic creepy little guy at it’s center. I loved the interweaving storylines, it reminded me a lot of Creepshow, which I loved as a kid. I wanted to put as much of the story as I could on the page, giving the image a comic-book touch with the background panelling, and adding a special frightening touch to Sam. Turn the lights off and you’ll see…”

The Odd City poster is just one of many ways that fans can experience this special event, even if they are not able to attend the screening in person. Both the showing of the film and the panel, which will be attended by Dougherty, who directed and wrote the movie, along with cast members Dylan Baker, Brian CoxQuinn LordJean-Luc Bilodeau, and other special guests, will be live-streamed nationally on Legendary’s Facebook page at facebook.com/legendary. The livestream will begin at 7:30 pm PST. Fans can tune in to watch the film and panel,  join in on the conversation, and enter to win Blu-ray copies of the film!

The film has such a cult status now that I could definitely see screenings becoming a yearly event. I would love to experience Trick ‘r Treat on the big screen! It’s easily my favourite Halloween film, and I had a feeling that it would be something special from the moment I first watched the trailer.

Will you be attending the screening on Monday? Sound out below!

Briefly: Just as I guessed when The Wolf Among Us release date was revealed, an iOS version of the title is in the works and is set to release this Fall.

Telltale today released an “Accolades” trailer for the game, which shows off much of the praise that critics have given the first chapter of the new adventure title. The end of the trailer indeed reveals that the game is coming soon for iOS and Playstation Vita.

If you haven’t yet picked up The Wolf Among Us, I’d recommend checking out my spoiler-free review of the first chapter, Faith, and definitely picking it up. The game is wonderful, and could easily expand to become one of the best releases of 2013.

Take a look at the accolades trailer below, and let us know what you think of the game!

Briefly: A short film based on Interplay’s classic sci-fi shooter RLH: Run Like Hell debuted online today, and it’s really, really cool.

The three-minute long, GoPro shot short tells the story of a young man who sets out to reconnect with his high-school crush – but things don’t go as planned. If you played the 2002 PS2 title, you probably know how things turn out.

The short was directed by Stu Maschwitz who is also attached to helm a feature film based on the property. The short is a great way to spend a few minutes, and the behind-the-scenes making of video is arguably even more interesting. Take a look at everything below, and let us know if you enjoy the short!

Briefly: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies has finally made its way to North America, and Capcom today debuted a great launch trailer for the game.

The video introduces many of the title’s central characters and gameplay moments, and it looks like an absolute blast. It’s been some time since I’ve played a Phoenix Wright game, but I will definitely be giving this one a buy.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies is available on the 3DS eShop for a cool $29.99.

Briefly: The USA Network has just renewed Suits for a fourth season.

The season will consist of the usual 16 episodes, while series creator and showrunner Aaron Korsh has signed an overall deal with Universal Cable Productions to continue his work on Suits and to develop new scripted series.

This is fantastic news. Suits is one of the best dramas on television, and there really isn’t a series that I look forward to more each week. It seems as though almost everyone I speak to has never heard of the show, so if you haven’t I implore you to check it out.

Take a look at the full press release below, and let us know just how much you’re enjoying the show! Suits will return sometime in 2014!

USA Network announced today a 16-episode fourth season renewal of the critically-acclaimed original drama SUITS. Additionally, creator and showrunner Aaron Korsh has signed an overall deal with Universal Cable Productions to continue his work on SUITS and to develop new scripted series.

“As a leading cable drama, SUITS is at the top of its game and continues to grow in the key demographics, drawing a passionate, young and loyal audience,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “Aaron Korsh consistently pushes the boundaries of storytelling and the series promises to deliver a provocative fourth season.”

“From the beginning, we’ve seen SUITS as a long term player for the studio and we look forward to extending our relationship with Aaron. Harvey, Mike and the rest of the SUITS crew are characters that have created a dedicated and enthusiastic audience,” said Jeff Wachtel, President and Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and head of UCP.

In third quarter, SUITS was among the top 5 in P18-49 and the top 10 in P25-54 in all of TV’s primetime scripted series. The drama was the #1 scripted series on television, broadcast or cable, Tuesday nights among P18-49. The series centers on a fast-paced Manhattan corporate law firm led by legendary lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and his brilliant, but not-technically-legal associate Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). From Universal Cable Productions, SUITS also stars Rick Hoffman (“Samantha Who”), Gina Torres (“Firefly”), Sarah Rafferty (“Brothers & Sisters”) and Meghan Markle (“CSI Miami”).

Season three of SUITS continues in first quarter 2014 following the Olympics, with the capitivating final six episodes, featuring guest star appearances by the most decorated Olympian of all-time, Michael Phelps (who happens to be a SUITS fan) and Gabriel Macht’s famous father, Stephen Macht (“The Monster Squad,” “General Hospital”). Picking up in the wake of an emotional and shattering murder trial, Harvey (G. Macht) and Jessica (Torres) address the firm’s future, while Louis (Hoffman) threatens to expose the truth about Mike (Adams).

The entire series to-date will be available for binge viewing via video-on-demand and TVEverywhere leading up to the mid-season premiere this winter.

This season, USA broke new digital ground as it rolled out innovative social and digital engagements including second screen syncs for every episode. Leading into the premiere, USA was the first network to partner with Tinder, a social discovery app, which introduced SUITS characters into people’s match stream. This generated a recording-setting half a million matches in four weeks. The network also rolled out a new chapter of the award-winning Suits Recruits, an interactive, multi-platform social game. Suitors engaged in record numbers with the legal sequel Suits Recruits: Class Action, which showed an increase of 76% in uniques and 81% in visits from last year.

Briefly: Marvel just released a fantastic first trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and 20th Century Fox has followed suit with a tiny teaser for X-Men: Days of Future Past.

It clocks in at just seven seconds, so you’ll probably need to watch it a few times to really make sense of what’s going on. As I mentioned yesterday, I hate trailers for trailers, but I’ll forgive this one as I feel like we’ve been waiting for this movie forever.

Take a look at the preview below, and let us know what you think! Look for the full X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer on Tuesday, October 29th!

Briefly: Yesterday we saw a ten second teaser and two new stills for the film, and now it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the first trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier has just debuted online.

It’s an iTunes trailer so it isn’t embeddable, but we’ll update with an embedded version as soon as one is available. We simply wanted to get this one to you as fast as possible. It’s really a fantastic trailer, and you need to watch it now.

Head here to check it out (in gorgeous 1080P HD of course), and be sure to let us know just how much you enjoy it. What do you think of that new costume? How about Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce? And what about Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier? In any case, Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theatres on April 4th

EDIT: Here’s an embedded trailer via Marvel’s UK YouTube Channel! The release date’s wrong for North America, but everything else looks great!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier finds Steve Rogers – aka Captain America – living quietly in Washington, DC, and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy – the Winter Soldier.

Briefly: It’s about time!

After releasing for iOS this Summer, and having a test Android run in a few countries last month, EA has finally released its lauded (and criticized) Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time for Android devices worldwide.

I’ve spent a lot of time with the free-to-play title over the last few months, which has been criticized for its myriad of in-app purchases, but I’ve actually never felt as though I’ve needed to purchase anything. Levels can be completed without throwing down any cash, and if you do opt to do so, it simply seems to put you on the fast track to victory. There are certainly plenty of worse in-app purchase cases out there (plus, it’s pretty much consumer’s fault that in-app purchases exist in the first place).

Take a look at the trailer for Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time below, and head to Google Play to download! Already played the game? Be sure to let us know how much fun you had!

Briefly: Marvel has just sent out the first preview pages for Daredevil #33 by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee. In any case, take a look at Samnee’s tweet below, and check out the first preview pages for Daredevil #33!

This one’s already funded, but with six days left of its campaign I know that we can help Vox Populi hit its stretch goal!

You’ll definitely recognize actor/director Sean Aston. He’s stared in a plethora of films including The Goonies, The War of the Roses, Toy Soldiers, and most notably The Lord of the Rings trilogy (as the very important Samwise Gamgee). Did you know that Sean also hosts a discussion-based radio show?

That show is Vox Populi: Voice of the ‘Occasionally Interested’ People. It’s is a forum for politics, government & world events, divergent viewpoints and a high standard of civil discourse. Just like Geekscape, Vox Populi airs on the fantastic ToadHop network, which has a large archive of previously aired episodes.

970fb444862b9dc65880be8ab6bfe0c2_large

As the Vox Populi Kickstarter states, with absolutely no funding they’ve “managed to book National Caliber Guests, for example: U.S. House of Representative Members, & diverse high caliber influencers such as Noam Chomsky & Michael Medved. Everyday people from around the world, people with wildly divergent viewpoints on every topic listen and call in live to the show. After an exhaustive trial period, we are now ready to Launch the Show as a viable competitor in the National Pundit Marketplace. With your help, we are READY FOR PRIME TIME!!!”

Everyone involved with Vox Populi wants to create a bigger, more robust experience, so they’ve taken to Kickstarter in order to fund a fully-produced second season. Money raised from the campaign will be used to create a more secure infrastructure for the series. Staff will be hired, equipment will be purchased, and the show’s quality will increase exponentially. If the Vox Populi stretch goals are met, a full-time producer and part-time social media expert will be hired, and a dedicated Vox Populi app may even be produced (allowing you to listen, call, and text into the show with just a tap)!

It’s a great cause, and a very important series. Of course with all things Kickstarter, there are some great rewards available for backers! Exclusive booklets, credits on the show, wristbands, DVD’s, coffee with Sean Aston, and a lot of other great incentives are available.

Again, the project has already been funded, but I’d love for the second season of Vox Populi to be the best it can possibly be, and that means that we’ve got some funding to do! Watch the Kickstarter video for the project below, and head to the official campaign page to back!

Briefly: Screen Junkies Honest Trailers has to be one of my favourite series on YouTube, and now they’ve taken on one of my favourite films of the Summer, Pacific Rim.

It sure points out some (a lot of) glaring issues that the film may have had, but it also points out just how awesome it was.

Take a look at the latest instalment of Honest Trailers below, and let us know what you thought of Pacific Rim!

Briefly: Following the new poster released just yesterday, Marvel today debuted two new stills (via USA Today) and a 10-second teaser for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Of course, the full trailer for the film launches tomorrow, and teaser trailers for trailers are stupid, but it at least gives you a multiple second taste of what you’ll see in longer form tomorrow.

From everything that we’ve seen so far, the next Phase Two film (after Thor: The Dark World, of course) is shaping up nicely. Take a look at everything below, and let us know if you’re excited! Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theatres on April 4th!

CaptainAmerica1

CaptainAmerica2

Briefly: Batman: Arkham Origins is just two days away from stores, and Warner Bros. Interactive has just released a phenomenal launch trailer for the game.

The action-packed trailer takes us through some important points in the title, and it definitely shows off some of the game’s new voice talent (like the new Batman, Roger Craig Smith, who we just had on the show).

We just saw a 17-minute gameplay walkthrough of the game yesterday, and after seeing the launch trailer today, it’s very clear that WB Games Montreal has done an incredible job with the franchise. Take a look at the newest trailer below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the game! Batman: Arkham Origins releases this Friday for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.

Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline occurring several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, witness identities being formed and key relationships being forged.
