Briefly: The first clip from this month’s anticipated Seth Rogen animated comedy Sausage Party has just hit the web.

Naturally, the clip is about as subtle as the red-band trailer is, and features way too many not-at-all subtle wiener in bun jokes than I can handle.

But, the movie actually looks pretty hilarious.

Sausage Party tells the story of one sausage setting out on a quest to discover the truth about his existence. After falling out of a shopping cart, our hero sausage and his new friends embark on a perilous journey through the supermarket to get back to their aisles before the Fourth of July sale.

Take a look at the clip below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the film.

Briefly: Another fantastic promotional video from a Seth Rogen project. You did see that Preacher trailer from last month where he played every character, didn’t you?

Obviously, tomorrow is a day where a lot of food is bound to be eaten, and countless hot dogs, burgers, potatoes, and every other food imaginable will will meet its demise.

That’s what Sausage Party‘s latest promo is all about.

Will you be killing the grill this Fourth of July?

No seriously, what are your plans?

Sausage Party hits theatres on August 12th.

The new promo features little new footage from the hilarious-looking film (you can re-watch the first trailer right here), but does feature Seth Rogen looking like Walt Disney. It’s pretty fantastic.

Briefly: Can you believe that Star Fox Zero is already upon us? It seemed like just yesterday that the game was delayed from its original holiday 2015 launch window.

In any case, Nintendo is about to launch a hopefully awesome Star Fox game, and to celebrate this Wednesday they’ll debut a Star Fox animated short titles Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins.

The short will stream right here this Wednesday at 6PM Eastern. The short was produced in collaboration with Shigeru Miyamoto, and Production IG and WIT Studios, and based on the just-released 30 second teaser, it looks super cool.

Take a look at the teaser below, and be sure to let us know if you plan to pick up Star Fox Zero on April 22nd!

Briefly: It’s finally here.

No, not Daredevil’s second season. You’ll have to wait until Friday for that.

We’re talking about the first trailer for Seth Rogen’s food-themed R-rated animated comedy, Sausage Party.

Yep. It’s really called Sausage Party, and yep, it looks hilarious.

Briefly: First announced back in April of 2013, a new trailer for the adaptation of Sony and Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword has just debuted online.

This animated adaptation is coming from Blockade Entertainment, and Anna Torv is set to return as Nariko. I never actually got a chance to play Heavenly Sword, but this adaptation definitely looks like something I’d check out.

Heavenly Sword is a dramatic tale of revenge that sees Nariko, a fiery red-haired heroine, embark on a quest for vengeance against the invading King Bohan and his army. Once considered the failure of a legendary prophesy, Nariko must wield a sword that was ultimately meant for another. This ancient Heavenly Sword, once belonging to a powerful deity, can never be wielded by a mortal without it slowly but inevitably killing them. For Nariko it is a race against time to avenge her clan before her life is irreparably overtaken by the omnipotent Heavenly Sword.

Check out the new trailer for the film below (via IGN), and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Following the announcement of a Ratchet & Clank movie last year, Sony has just revealed their next animated adventure, Sly Cooper.

First developed by Sucker Punch (who later moved on to the critically acclaimed Infamous franchise), Sly Cooper is an excellent stealth-action-platformer series that first debuted on the PS2 in 2002.

Here’s what Sony had to say about the newly announced film, and its first teaser trailer:

When we met with PlayStation to discuss the film last year, we proposed that the CG art style would transfer best in the leap to the big screen. Both PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions (the original creators of the franchise) were kind enough to give us the chance to make this idea a reality. After a few months of development, the team at Rainmaker, along with Director Kevin Munroe, nailed it. Well, kind of…

The modeler gave Murray the wrong helmet, which was more like a motorcycle helmet — funny, but definitely NOT his signature one. And while we all loved the temp music track — which happened to be the theme to Mission Impossible — that music would have cost us a fortune to license. With those quirks worked out, we’re excited to bring you this first look and hope you enjoy it.

The Sly Cooper release is slated for 2016. The film will also be released in 3D for those who want to feel like they’re in the actual Sly Cooper world.

Now, take a look at the trailer below, let us know what you think, and be sure to share your favourite Sly Cooper moment in the comments below! Sly Cooper is slated to release in 2016.

Based on one of PlayStation’s most beloved franchises, Sly Cooper is a kinetic and comedic heist film that tells the story of Sly Cooper, an orphaned raccoon thief, and the adventures of his childhood friends and partners in crime, Bentley Turtle and Murray Hippo. In the film, Sly learns that he comes from a long line of talented, international thieves, and is catapulted into a global adventure. Sly races to reassemble pieces of an ancient book holding the Cooper clan’s family secrets before it can fall into the hands of Clockwerk — an evil metallic owl bent on ending the Cooper family line.

Briefly: DC Animation’s next film looks awesome.

It’s called Son of Batman, and it’s based on Grant Morrison’s 2006 arc Batman and Son, in which Bats learns that he’s a daddy, and that the kid who he now must raise is kind-of a jerk.

You can take a look at the first trailer for Son of Batman (via TV Guide) below. Giancarlo Esposito’s in it!

Looks pretty great, huh? Son of Batman will premiere at WonderCon, and launch on DVD and Blu-Ray shortly afterwards.

We all knew that a new Star Wars animated series was in the works, and it just got an official title.

Star Wars Rebels is currently in the works and will premiere in Fall 2014. The show will begin as a one-hour special, and be followed by a weekly series. Set in the nearly two-decade period between the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the series will focus on the founding of the Rebel Alliance.

LucasFilm has released a behind-the-scenes video title Star Wars Rebels: The Rebellion Begins, which has Pablo Hidalgo speaking with executive producer David Filoni about the anticipated new series. Take a look below, and let us know if this makes up for the cancellation of The Clone Wars! It doesn’t, does it? But Star Wars Rebels does sound cool!

Here’s the full press release for those who want to know more:

Production has begun on Star Wars Rebels, an exciting, all-new animated television series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time. Scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

Leading the development of the series is a creative team of exceptional talent. Screenwriter/producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Sherlock Holmes, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) is an executive producer on Star Wars Rebels and will write the premiere episode. He is joined by Dave Filoni as executive producer, who served as supervising director of the Emmy nominated Star Wars: The Clone Wars since 2008. Executive producer Greg Weisman brings with him a wealth of animation experience with credits such as Young Justice, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Gargoyles.

Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, said, “The entire team at Lucasfilm has provided extraordinary creativity and innovation for over three decades, and we’re thrilled to be bringing the expansive and imaginative world of Star Wars to Disney XD’s viewers.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to explore new corners of the Star Wars universe,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president, Lucasfilm. “I think Star Wars Rebels will capture the look, feel and fun that both kids and their parents love about Star Wars.”

The action-filled series is set between the events of Episode III and IV — an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Details about the show are a closely guarded secret at this point.

Star Wars Rebels will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, featuring many of the key talents that made Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fans attending Star Wars Celebration Europe will be the first to get an exclusive look at the new series. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Kevin Fiege has been talking about their desire to bring a live-action Inhumans film the big screen for awhile now. Now, it seems that maybe Marvel is testing the waters because they have just announced that on April 23rd,  Inhumans will debut in animated form in a new Marvel Knights movie. Check out the DVD cover art as well as a list of special features the DVD will contain below.

inhumans

Synopsis:

The Inhumans have always been one of Marvel’s most enduring oddities. A race of genetic outsiders, they live secluded in their island kingdom of Attilan, preferring not to mix with the outside world. Even stranger, their genetic mutations are self-endowed; each Inhuman, as a coming-of-age ritual, endures exposure to the Terrigen Mists, a strange substance that imparts unearthly powers–some extraordinary, some monstrous. But now the kingdom of Attilan is under attack from without and within. Can the Royal Family, led by Black Bolt, repel the foreign invaders who blast at their outer defenses, as well as the internal threat of Black Bolt’s insane brother, Maximus the Mad? This popular series takes a classic Marvel cast of characters, and infuses it with a modern sensibility that includes international politics and an awareness of class systems. Dark and grimly compelling, the “Inhumans” is one story that won’t be forgotten any time soon.

Bonus Features Include:

A Look Back At The Inhumans with Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Jenkins, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and Supervising Producer Kalia Cheng.

Check out the first clip from the upcoming Fox shorts based on the webcomic from the mind of brothers Malachai Nicolle (who was five years old when the series began) and Ethan Nicolle. Nick Offerman, who you probably better known as Ron Swanson from NBC’s Parks And Recreation, will be voicing Axe Cop in the animated shorts that will be airing Saturday nights on Fox. There really is nobody better to play Axe Cop than Offerman.    Am I saying this due to the mustache? Mostly.

The animated series will premiere next summer on Fox.

Warner Home video has announced their upcoming slate of animated features at this year’s New York Comic-Con 2012, which includes two new full-length DC features.

The first being an adaptation of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s comic book Superman: Brainiac, will officially be called Superman: Unbound, and will hit shelves Summer 2013.

The final feature of 2013 will be Justice League: Flashpoint, an adaptation of the comic event Flashpoint that led to DC’s New 52.

Fantastic news for all adventurers out there. Cartoon Network today announced the season 5 return of everyone’s favourite Human/Dog duo, and it’s coming a lot sooner than you might think!

MTV Geek reports that we’ll be getting even more awesome guests this season, including Community’s Donald Glover and the return of Prince Gumball himself, Neil Patrick Harris.

If you’ve never seen Adventure Time, it has to be one of the most absurdly hilarious shows around. It’s also enjoyable for both children and adults alike (maybe even more so for the older folk).

The premiere will be a two-parter, and will air on November 12th.

It’s been a decade since Bruce Wayne hung up his cape, following most of the other superheroes who had been forced into retirement. Facing the downside of middle age, a restless Bruce Wayne pacifies his frustration with race cars and liquor – but the bat still beckons as he watches his city fall prey to gangs of barbaric criminals known as The Mutants.

The return of Harvey Dent as Two-Face finally prompts Wayne to once again don the Dark Knight’s cowl, and his dramatic capture of the villain returns him to crime-fighting – simultaneously making him the target of law enforcement and the new hope for a desolate Gotham City. Particularly inspired is a teenage girl named Carrie, who adopts the persona of Robin and ultimately saves Batman from a brutal attack by the Mutant leader. Armed with a new sidekick, and re-energized with a definitive purpose, the Dark Knight returns to protect Gotham from foes new…and old.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part One goes on sale September 25th, 2012!
