Briefly: Marvel Studios today released a new poster for Thor: The Dark World.

The image is fairly standard poster fare, spotlighting Chris Hemsworth clutching his beloved Natalie Portman, while secondary characters look somber in the background (aside from Loki, who looks like he’s having a blast). It reveals little of what we’ll see in the feature, but it certainly does its job in looking bad-ass.

Take a look at the new poster below, and let us know what you think! Thor: The Dark World hits theatres on November 8th!

Briefly: I wasn’t even aware that this film existed, but alas, here’s its first trailer!

The movie’s called Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, and follows the real-life (mis)adventures of Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) and his grandson. The movie features real people in semi-scripted (at least for Knoxville) situations, which look to garner a lot of response from nearby individuals.

The comedy looks absolutely hilarious (and in traditional Jackass fashion, absolutely stupid), and hits theatres on October 25th. Watch the first trailer for Bad Grandpa below, and let us know what you think!

86 year-old Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companions, his 8 year-old Grandson Billy in “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.” This October, the signature Jackass character Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) and Billy (Jackson Nicoll) will take movie audiences along for the most insane hidden camera road trip ever captured on camera.

Along the way Irving will introduce the young and impressionable Billy to people, places and situations that give new meaning to the term childrearing. The duo will encounter male strippers, disgruntled child beauty pageant contestants (and their equally disgruntled mothers), funeral home mourners, biker bar patrons and a whole lot of unsuspecting citizens.

Real people in unreal situations, making for one really messed up comedy.

Briefly: Universal Pictures today debuted the first trailer for Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor.

The film, based on the book Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 tells the story of a failed 2005 mission, where the team was set to capture and kill a prominent member of the Taliban.

The film spotlights a pretty stellar cast, including Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Ludwig, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster, Eric Bana, and plenty of others. Take a look at the film’s first trailer below, and let us know what you think! Lone Survivor hits theatres on December 27th!

‘Lone Survivor’ is the true story of four Navy SEALs on an ill-fated covert mission to neutralize a high-level Taliban operative who are ambushed by enemy forces in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Ben Foster, Emile Hirsch, and Eric Bana

Briefly: It’s not the most exciting Days of Future Past photo we’ve seen this week, but it’s nice to see Mystique back in action.

Director Bryan Singer today tweeted a mysterious new production photo from the film. The image features Mystique (well, her leg anyways) choking a mysterious figure against a wall. Any idea who the figure may be? Take a look at the photo and sound out below!

After seeing The Wolverine (and listening to Ian Kerner’s breakdown), how much are you looking forward to Days of Future Past?

Neill Blomkamp’s District 9 follow-up, Elysium, is now less than two weeks away from theatres, and TriStar today released an extended trailer for the film.

It’s really amazing what Blomkamp managed to do with the relatively-low budget (30-million) of District 9, so tripling that with Elysium should lead to an extremely atmospheric and breathtaking world. The cast is also absolutely all-star, and includes Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, William Fichtner, Sharlto Copley, and plenty of others.

Watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think! Elysium hits theatres on August 9th!

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Aquaman and Wonder Woman may never appear on The CW, but it looks as though The Flash definitely will, and sooner than you might think.

The character (Barry Allen) will debut during Arrow‘s second season (episodes eight, nine, and twenty to be specific). His origin story will be told at some point in these episodes, and some time after that, he’ll get his own series. The episodes will be written by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns.

Kreisberg has stated that we’ll meet Barry as ‘an ordinary man’ in episode eight, and that “The character will be as grounded and realistic as possible. That’s how we’ll get to know him. Then his life will get a bit faster.”

Arrow, of course, has been a strictly ‘no-powers’ series to this point. Kreisberg noted that the origins “won’t be treated as commonplace on the show but as extraordinary events,” and that “he does need powers to become The Flash. And he will be The Flash. He will wear a red costume, and he will go by that name.”

An actor has not yet been chosen for the role, as casting is set to begin next week. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this one, as of course a series based on The Flash is one that we definitely want to see.

What do you think of the announcement? Are you a fan of Arrow so far?

Briefly: While it’s been rumoured since the game’s announcement, it only just became official: Batman: Arkham Origins will mark the series’ first multiplayer offering.

Created by Brink (uh-oh?) developer Splash Damage, the game’s multiplayer campaign is titled “Silent Predator”, and features some intriging 3 vs. 3 vs. 2 gameplay. Three players act as Joker’s thugs, three as Bane’s, and the other team consists of Batman and Robin (Tim Drake). The Joker and Bane teams will be playing the game as a third-person shooter, while Batman and Robin will be sneaking through the shadows trying to one-up their opponents. It sounds almost like a spiritual successor to Splinter Cell’s fantastic Spies vs. Mercs multiplayer mode.

Take a look at the first trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins multiplayer below, and let us know if you’re excited. The mode will be available on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3… so every platform except for Wii U.

Legendary Comics today revealed Frazer Irving’s first cover for Grant Morrison’s Annihilator.

The anticipated book is still without a release date (which should be forthcoming), but based on the awesome concept, let alone the team behind it, I’m already beyond sold on Annihilator.

Take a look at the first issue’s cover below (as well as the book’s synopsis), and let us know if you’re looking forward to it!

Annilhator Cover

Hellraising screenwriter Ray Spass has one last chance to restore himself to former glory as he struggles to write a new studio tent-pole movie, Annihilator. The film centers around the adventures of Max Nomax, a sci-fi anti-hero caught in an epic struggle against the authoritarian artificial life form Vada and it’s chief assassin, Jet Makro.

But when Max Nomax appears in real-life, Ray thinks it’s a side effect of the brain tumor he was recently diagnosed with. Despite all logic, Nomax is real, having escaped from an impossible prison with no memory. Ray’s tumor is the key—it contains all Nomax’s adventures, downloaded into Ray’s head before Nomax escaped.

Ray needs to finish his screenplay in order to get the information out of his head and shrink the tumor. Nomax needs Ray to finish his screenplay so he can remember who he is, what ultimate crime he has committed, how to defeat Vada and save the universe from annihilation – if the unstoppable Jet Makro doesn’t reach Nomax and Ray first.

Briefly: Last week it was reveal that J’onn J’onzz would not be the final DLC character to join Injustice: Gods Among Us‘ already expansive roster.

Today, Martian Manhunter officially released, and is absolutely itching for a fight. The character is available for $4.99 (or 400MS Points) on PS3 and Xbox 360. It has not been announced if or when he’ll be dropping on the Wii U version of the game (which seems to be all but forgotten these days).

NetherRealm today released a video describing the history of the character, so if you’re unfamiliar, take a look below, and let us know if you’ll be picking him up!

“Gods Among Us” debuts as a bold new fighting game franchise that introduces a deep, original story featuring a large cast of favorite DC Comics icons such as Batman, Cyborg, Harley Quinn, Nightwing, Deathstroke, Solomon Grundy, Superman, Lex Luthor, The Flash, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Bane, Catwoman, Shazam, Black Adam, Raven, the Joker, Doomsday, Killer Frost, Ares and more. Set in a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred, players will experience heroes and villains engaging in epic battles on a massive scale.

Briefly: It’s finally been revealed.

Bioshock Infinite released all the way back in March to universal acclaim. The game is an incredibly beautiful story driven shooter that offers some of the best and most memorable moments in all of gaming.

Since its release, fans have been eagerly (understatement) awaiting the release, or simply the announcement, of DLC packs for the title. A DLC Season Pass for Infinite has been available since the game was still in its pre-order cycle, so we all knew something was coming, we just didn’t know what.

Until today, that is.

Irrational Games has spilled the beans on some incredible sounding content. The first pack, available now, is called ‘Clash in the Clouds’, and is a combat centric, very difficult looking arena shooter. Take a look at the trailer below:

Looks cool, huh? Not overly exciting, but cool. Now take a look at the trailer for ‘Burial at Sea’, the newly announced, not yet available DLC for Infinite:

‘Burial at Sea’ is a two-part, story driven adventure that takes what looks like an alternate Booker and Elizabeth back to Rapture. You’ll notice from the trailer that Rapture is looking pretty lively (and not destroyed) at this time, but if you look closer, you’ll also notice a certain date: December 31, 1958. Yep, that’s the night that Rapture fell.

It has also been revealed that chapter two of ‘Burial at Sea’ will have players take on the role of Elizabeth, and that gameplay will be much different while you’re in her shoes.

How excited are you for this one? Be sure to let us know!

Briefly: Universal Pictures today released a fantastic new featurette for Edgar Wright’s The World’s End.

The video features plenty of new footage (and some pretty awesome fight choreography), and spotlights plenty of the film’s stars and crew including Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright.

Of course, the UK (and countless other places) have already seen The World’s End, and they loved it. The conclusion of the Cornetto trilogy has garnered near universal acclaim, and currently holds a cool 91% on RottenTomatoes. We’ll finally get our chance to see the film on August 23rd, and I can’t freaking wait.

Watch the new featurette below, and let us know if you’re excited! Already see the movie? How was it? Sound out below!

Briefly: At least it’s not as big a delay as Sin City: A Dame To Kill For or 300: Rise of an Empire, right?

FilmDistrict today announced a slight delay for Spike Lee’s upcoming remake, Oldboy. The film was originally slated to hit theatres on October 25th, but now holds a November 27th release date.

A reason for the delay was not given, but it’s sure to be frustrating for anyone who is looking forward to the film. Disappointed? Are you looking forward to this version of Oldboy? Sound out below!

Briefly: CBS drama Under the Dome has just been renewed for a second season.

The series, based on the novel by Stephen King and adapted by Brian K. Vaughan, has proved to be one of this Summer’s most popular new shows. Under the Dome currently averages over 13-million viewers per week, fantastic numbers for any series, let alone a show that’s dropped in quality with each subsequent episode.

Stephen King himself has been tapped to writer the second season premiere, but is that enough to save the series? I’m watching Under the Dome weekly, but can’t help but feel like almost nothing has happened since the dome dropped all those weeks ago. The show is cheesy, seems cheaply produced, and though I’m likely invested enough to sit through the rest of the first season, unless things drastically improve in the next few weeks, I can definitely see myself dropping out before next year’s premiere.

What do you think of the news? More importantly, what do you think of the show? Are you a fan, or watching just because? Sound out below!

Lion Forge Comics is a company that we mention often around these parts. Sure, Jonathan is writing one of the newly-announced NBC reboots that everyone is talking about (Miami Vice, to be specific), but all of us at Geekscape simply believe that Lion Forge is a unique, forward thinking publisher that has a very bright future ahead of it. Plus, who doesn’t want to read a Saved By The Bell book?

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, a multitude of original IPs were revealed by the company. Rampage Jackson isn’t the only star getting his own book: the beautiful, talented 2011 Playboy Playmate of the year, Claire Sinclair also has a title coming from Lion Forge.

In Wonderous, Claire is re-imagined as a broke college student who volunteers for a medical study and accidentally gets a dose of superpowers. As she experiments with her new abilities, she must suddenly put them to the test to fight a sinister super villain – who also happens to be her ex-boyfriend. Claire and Wonderous writer Joelle Sellner were on the scene at this year’s Comic-Con, and answered a few key questions for us about their upcoming book.

Watch the interview in full below, and let us know if you’ll be picking up Wonderous: The Adventures of Claire Sinclair!

This is going to be big.

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, a multitude of original IPs were revealed by the company. One of the more talked-about titles features some real star power, as MMA fighter and B.A. Baracus himself Rampage Jackson acts as the main protagonist.

Rampage Jackson: Street Soldier star Jackson and the book’s writer David Gorden were on site at SDCC to promote the book, and of course we scored an awesome interview with the duo. Watch the interview below, and be sure to let us know if you’re excited for the book! Rampage Jackson: Street Soldier will debut with a one-shot issue in the Fall, and a series is set to follow!

Briefly: Is it still news if everyone expected it?

Star Wars Celebration Europe is on in full force, and today a tasty tidbit appeared on StarWars.com: composer John Williams has confirmed his involvement in Star Wars: Episode VII.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced the news before debuting a new interview with Williams, who sounds beyond excited to be returning to the Star Wars universe. This is an announcement that fans are going to love, as I can’t even begin to imagine what Star Wars would sound like if composed by anyone else.

Take a look at the short interview below, and let us know what you think of the (not really) news!

Briefly: Following the playable demo from this year’s Comic-Con, Nintendo has debuted a new gameplay trailer for Platinum Games highly anticipated The Wonderful 101.

The new preview showcases plenty of the game’s intriguing heroes and their incredible powers, and gives us a great idea of what to expect when the game launches this September (or earlier, if you don’t live in North America).

Juan gave us some pretty fantastic coverage of the game during last week’s amazing San Diego Comic-Con. If his excitement is any indication, The Wonderful 101 may just be that killer app that the Wii U is desperately needing. Watch the new gameplay trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited!

Briefly: The anticipated release of David Twohy’s Riddick is fast approaching, and at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Universal Studios unveiled an awesome new motion comic that bridged the gap between 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick and its upcoming sequel.

Universal has just released the motion comic online, and as expected, it’s pretty damn cool. The video clocks in at just over five minutes, and if you have any interest in seeing Riddick when it launches on September 6th, you’re definitely going to want to watch this first.

Watch the Riddick motion comic, titled ‘Blindsided’ below, and let us know if you’re excited!

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy

Briefly: Somehow, I missed this fantastic video until just a few minutes ago. Being a big fan of Bates Motel, this was simply too good not to share.

I can’t seem to find the context of the sketch, but I assume that it debuted during the Bates Motel panel at Comic-Con, and has since made its way online. The video features Norman himself, Freddie Highmore, preparing for production of the second season, and subsequently going a little crazy when he sees the original Bates Motel on the Universal Studios lot.

Take a look at the video below, and be sure to let us know what you thought of the show’s first season, and if you’re excited for season two!

In “Bates Motel,” following the tragic death of her husband, Norma Bates buys a motel on the outskirts of the idyllic coastal town of White Pine Bay, seeking a fresh start. As Norma and Norman get ensconced in their new home, they discover this town isn’t quite what it seems, and the locals aren’t so quick to let them in on their secrets. But the Bates’ are done being pushed around and will do whatever it takes to survive – and will do whatever it takes to protect their own secrets.

Briefly: If you thought that Naughty Dog’s incredible The Last of Us was the PS3’s last great exclusive, you’re probably mistaken.

Quantic Dream, developer of Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit for those not in North America) and Heavy Rain, have another game up their sleeve for this generation. That game stars both Ellen Page and Willem DaFoe, and is called Beyond: Two Souls.

There have been some fantastic gameplay videos and trailers for the game thus far, but a newly released behind-the-scenes featurette really showcases some of the unbelievably varied gameplay that Beyond will offer. You follow Ellen Page’s character through 14 years of her life, and it looks like she has a lot going on. The game looks to mix a thriller with some spiritual and psychological elements, and should be an absolute treat for PS3 owners.

Don’t own a PS3? It’s never been a better time to buy. Check out the latest featurette for Beyond: Two Souls below, and let us know if you’ll be picking it up on October 8th!

Alfonso Caurón’s Children of Men has remained one of the most impressive films that I have ever seen, ever since my first viewing back in 2006. From the fantastic performances, to the incredible sound design, and of course the breathtaking world and cinematography, Children of Men is a movie that I’ve introduced to dozens, all of which have walked away as amazed as I was all those years ago.

Now, Caurón is back… and this time he’s taking his story to space.

Gravity hits theatres this October, and has been one of my most anticipated films since I saw the first teaser trailer. Now, three phenomenal new clips have been released for the film, and they absolutely blow away everything we’ve seen so far.

I won’t gush over the movie any further (at least not today… it’s getting late), so watch the clips below, and let us know what you think! Gravity hits theatres on October 4th!

Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

Briefly: While we’ve been busy catching up with all the Comic-Con news, we missed the awesome first posters for Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The posters feature a stylish, original design, that each showcase both versions of the portrayed characters. One image features both Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr, while the other spotlights James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier.

They’re both absolutely awesome images, and a great start to the film’s marketing. I can’t wait to see what comes next! Take a look at the posters below, and let us know what you think! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on July 18th, 2014.

Briefly: This game looks amazing.

Following last year’s Zelda II inspired Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?, a new trailer for the next Adventure Time video game launched at this year’s SDCC.

The trailer is brief, featuring interviews from a few of the show’s cast members and showing off some short clips of gameplay, but I already feel as though I’ve seen enough. Explore The Dungeon Because I Don’t Know! is a four-player cooperative isometric hack-n’-slash, and I cannot wait to gather a few friends to play it.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited! Adventure Time: Explore The Dungeon Because I Don’t Know! hits PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and 3DS on November 12th.

Briefly: During this year’s Comic-Con, Universal Pictures released a bloody new trailer for David Twohy’s Riddick.

The new preview features much of what we’ve already seen, just… bloodier and a little more violent. Same opening, same mercenaries, same ol’ Vin Diesel; don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome trailer for what looks to be an awesome film, but I was hoping for a little more new footage than what we saw.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think! Riddick opens on September 6th!

http://youtu.be/lHu5y0-fUZQ

Briefly: Kick-Ass 2 already looked amazing, but this Comic Con extended trailer looks to really up the ante.

Clocking in at just under five minutes, the new preview features a ton of previously unreleased footage, including a nice look at Mother Russia. Action, plot, and humour fill the trailer, which gives you a fantastic sense of what the final film will feel like.

Take a look at the new (very red band) trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited for the film! Kick-Ass 2 hits theatres on August 16th!

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2.  After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol.  When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.

When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.

Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets,  the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.

Briefly: During this year’s fantastic San Diego Comic-Con, The CW revealed a cool first trailer for the highly anticipated second season of Arrow. Apparently it reveals some pretty heavy spoilers for the show’s first season, so seeing as I still haven’t caught up, I haven’t actually watched the preview myself.

I’m hearing that great things are in store for the show’s second season, so I better get caught up quickly! Arrow returns on October 9th!

Check out the season two trailer below, and let us know what you thought of the first season!

Briefly: During Telltale’s The Walking Dead panel at this year’s Comic-Con, Telltale revealed some first details about the game’s second season.

First up: Clementine’s back. It’s unknown what role she’ll play in the next chapter, or whether she’ll be a main character or just a cameo, but I’m ecstatic to learn that one of gaming’s best characters ever will return this Fall.

Second: We may have left Kenny back in that alleyway in episode 5, but Telltale isn’t done with him yet. Telltale revealed during the panel that Season 2 will explore the (apparently) uncertain fate of the character. Cool, huh?

This is amazing. It’s incredible that an adventure game could go on both to sell so well, and be so universally acclaimed. I loved every second of season one and 400 Days, and I cannot wait to get back into this world.

Season two of Telltale’s The Walking Dead launches this Fall!

Briefly: We’re finally approaching the fall release date of Traveller’s Tales highly anticipated Lego Marvel Super Heroes, and the developer has released a cool new character trailer for the title.

This preview features a ton of new characters, some of Traveller’s Tales classic humour, and plenty to fall in love with. I’ve been wanting to check this game out forever, and this fall can’t come soon enough.

Watch the new trailer for Lego Marvel Super Heroes below, and let us know what you think! The game hits Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Playstation Vita, 3DS, PS3, PS4, and PC this Fall!

Briefly: During this year’s incredible San Diego Comic-Con, Lionsgate debuted a fantastic new trailer for the wildly anticipated The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Katniss and Peeta’s incredible victory has given people something that the capitol never wanted them to have: hope. As Katniss and Peeta are the source of this hope, they clearly need to be exterminated (and in a subtle and non-obvious way). I have to say that while I didn’t love (or even really like) the first Hunger Games film, Catching Fire appears to be a much more serious, much more adult picture, and based on this new preview, I’m now quite fascinated with how things may turn out.

Take a look at the new trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire below, and let us know what you think! The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Jena Malone, Woody Harrelson, and plenty of others, and is set to hit theatres on November 22nd.

Did you manage to get into Hall H for this one? Let us know what you saw!

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Briefly: This is certainly one of the biggest (and best) gaming surprises of this year’s Comic-Con.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Namco Bandai’s Soul Calibur II, the company has decided to rerelease the game as a downloadable title. Oh yeah, and they’ve also updated it with full high-definition graphics and online multiplayer.

Awesome, right?

Soul Calibur II HD Online is set to hit PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year. No word has been given on the state of the original release’s console specific characters, but seeing as a Wii U version was not announced, you sadly won’t be fighting as Link any time soon. It’s been years (nearly 10, in fact) since I’ve played Soul Calibur II, but the game was an incredible achievement in fighting games, and I’ll certainly be checking out this updated version.

Take a look at the first trailer for the rerelease below, and let us know what you think! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the title as we learn more!
