Briefly: Here it is folks, the highly anticipated, long awaited first trailer for season four of AMC’s adaptation of The Walking Dead.

The show’s disappointing (understatement?) third season finale was a stark departure from the prison arc in Kirkman’s comic, and left all of us wondering just what could come next. Now that they’ve filled the prison with old folks and children, it seemed as though our survivors were set to begin working on rebuilding a small society. As you can see from the below trailer, things (expectedly) don’t work out that way.

I won’t spoil things further, so take a look at the awesome first trailer below, and let us know what you think! Scott Gimple’s the man, and I think we’re gearing ourselves up for the best season yet!

Did you see Macon on that map? Could we be seeing a Telltale tie-in/Easter egg? Where is the Governor? Sound out below!

Briefly: There have been rumours of a Heroes revival since before the show even aired its last episode. Each and every time word comes that Heroes will return in one form or another, fans are left with nothing but disappointment as nothing ever comes to light.

This time, it’s official. Heroes will have a fifth season in comic book form.

Dynamite Entertainment is bringing the franchise back to life; Cullen Bunn is set to write the book, which is currently without an artist (but it won’t be Tim Sale). Bunn is a newcomer to the Heroes comics, but as he was an avid fan of the show, I have faith that things should turn out pretty well.

In an interview with CBR, Bunn states:

“I was a faithful viewer of ‘Heroes’ when it was on television. The things that most appealed to me about this are that I like the world. I like the concept of ordinary people who discovery they have these powers and are working in a world where superheroes are not common knowledge. It’s all about normal people discovering this and the situations they get into. There are some aspects of that which are still out there to be discovered.

More than that, I really want to delve into these characters more,” the writer continued. “That was really the heart of the show. Sure, there were people with powers, but what really appealed to me was how they grew as characters. There’s a core group of characters that are mainly from the first season who I really like and we’ll be seeing in the book.”

Bunn went on to reveal that all of the series’ main characters would return and that, like the show, the comic would switch perspectives between issues.

With the way that season four ended, I’ve been itching for more Heroes for years. The series had its fair share of problems, but I’d jump on the opportunity to get back into this world. How do you feel about the announcement? Is Dynamite’s Heroes something for your pull list? Or will you ignore it like you did the later seasons? Sound out below!

The first full day of San Diego Comic Con 2013 is on in full force. As I’ve mentioned before, this is my first time in San Diego, and my first time at the convention… and it’s absolutely ridiculous. I’ve seen people and things that I could never even dream of, and have already been through an incredible experience that I’m still thinking about.

That experience, of course, was Legendary’s Godzilla Encounter. Shane, Jonathan, and I had an awesome opportunity to attend the experience yesterday, before it opened to the general public in the evening. The awesome folks at Legendary took us through the encounter just as fans would see it, before letting us back in for sushi, ramen, and photos.

Again, I’m from a small city in Canada, and I’ve never really seen anything in my entire life. Honestly, going through this experience may be one of the coolest events of my entire life (sad, I know).

Tickets for the encounter are very hard to come by at this point. Last I heard, online tickets were completely gone (though this may have changed as of this writing), and your only chance now is to ask the Legendary booth how to get your hands on them (3920, right next to us!), follow the company’s official twitter, and of course, hope that you’re very lucky.

Take a look at some photos from our experience at the Godzilla Encounter below, and let us know what you think of the offsite event. I’d recommend checking it out in full before looking at any of these pictures, as it will most definitely spoil things for you. Also, the most impressive portions of Encounter had a strict no camera rule, so if you want to see the really incredible moments, you’re going to have to find a ticket! Do it!

Outside the encounter:

I thought things were cool just on the outside of the building. Legendary did a fantastic job at converting a warehouse into a building that looked like it had just been attacked. There were signs around the entirety of the building warning onlookers about radiation, and of course, the king of monsters. Opening the Godzilla Encounter iOS or Android app at this point gave you a geiger counter registering off the charts, and a warning that touchdown was imminent.

Inside the encounter:

Things really stepped up a level upon entering the building. The huge floorspace was divided into different sections and even featured a prop from the original 1950’s Godzilla film. Shindo’s Ramen bar featured actors preparing food and reading newspapers while not speaking to us in English. An awesome Godzilla centric comic-store featured an impressive wall of pages, and dozens of classic Godzilla toys, while a clothing store showcased a plethora of different fashion items.

All of the press members were having a fantastic time exploring the area, checking out all of the warning signs and awesome Godzilla history, when suddenly, an alarm went off. People in hazmat suits appeared seemingly out of nowhere and began yelling at all of us, stating that ‘something was coming’, and that we ‘needed to evacuate the area’. I won’t explain further, as again, I really want you to experience it for yourself, but what came next had Shane nearly shitting his pants, and I’m not joking.

Again, I really couldn’t believe that this was all taking place inside a building. It was an absolutely incredible experience, and I recommend it to everyone.

A sleek new poster for the film also debuted at the show tonight. Check it out below, and be sure to visit us at booth 3919, and Legendary at 3920!

We’re busy gearing up for SDCC later this week, and apparently, so is Legendary’s Godzilla.

Director Gareth Edwards has released a special pre-convention message for fans eager to get their first taste of the film. The quick video reveals little of what to expect, but does reveal a viral-marketing link at godzillaencounter.com, which features an ever-expanding story of a mysterious anomaly approaching the California coast.

Take a look at Gareth’s message below, and let us know what you’re hoping to see this week! Coming to Comic Con? Be sure to visit Geekscape at booth 3919!

It’s so bad!

Mattel’s Power Glove for the Nintendo Entertainment System first released in 1989. Sadly, it’s a product that I never got to experience, as its mediocrity sent it into obscurity long before I even knew what a video game was (I was born in 1990 after all).

Soon, I’ll be able to learn everything about the Power Glove, that I never knew I wanted to. The Power of Glove is a feature length documentary that chronicles the conception, creation, and release of the product. The documentary features interviews with a plethora of individuals that had a hand in creating the Power Glove, as well as (of course), plenty of folks who fell for the gimmick (or joined the revolution, depending on who you ask).

The first trailer for The Power of Glove is now online, and the film looks like an absolute must watch. Take a look at the preview below, and let us know if you’ll be checking it out! The film is still without a release date, but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as one is announced.

To excite you for your midnight showing later tonight (you have purchased your tickets, right?), Warner Bros. has just released an awesome new clip for Pacific Rim.

The video, which is nearly three minutes in length, shows a stunning extended look at the Jaeger Gypsy Danger. The clip is made up of a series of long takes, which literally had me saying ‘wow’ at multiple points throughout.

I won’t spoil it for you. This thing is beautiful. Watch the new clip below, and let us know if you’re excited! Pacific Rim hits theatres tonight, and seeing as it’s one of the few original films this Summer, it definitely deserves your cash.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Yesterday’s Comic-Con centric Entertainment Weekly cover gave us our first official look at Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Today, a new batch of photos gives us a second look, a much better peek at spidey’s new suit, and more!

Another day, another new clip from The Wolverine.

The clip (along with all of the others) is action packed, this time showcasing a battle between Logan and Shingen. It doesn’t impress me as much as yesterday’s World War II clip did, but it’s still heads and shoulders above that first, ridiculous train clip.

Take a look at the new clip below, and let us know what you think! The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th!

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Briefly: Long rumoured and consistently denied, it looks like Sam Mendes is back for Bond 24 after all.

Last year’s Skyfall was a hit with fans and (many) critics, and raked in over 1.1 billion dollars worldwide, so it’s no surprise that MGM would want Mendes to return. The still untitled 24th Bond film will again star Daniel Craig, and feature a screenplay by Skyfall writer John Logan.

Bond 24 hits UK theatres on October 23rd, 2015, and North America on November 6th. Let us know what you think of the news! Are you excited to hear of Mendes’ return?

Reef Entertainment today debuted a new trailer for the long awaited Rambo: The Video Game.

The preview shows little gameplay, but plenty of action. From Rambo’s classic bow, ripping out someone’s throat with a knife, to right out exploding a dude, this game looks to have it all.

The title covers the events of Rambo I, II, and III, so action lovers young and old should find something to feel nostalgic about when Rambo: The Video Game hits PS3, Xbox 360, and PC this Winter. Watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!

As noted yesterday, this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly is all about Comic-Con (and rightly so). The issue features a second official still from season four of The Walking Dead… albeit quite a boring one.

It’s Daryl, wearing a bandanna over his face. That’s it. No walkers, no action, no revelations, no nothing. I guess they have to save something for the panel, right?

Take a look at the image below, and let us know what you think! The Walking Dead returns to AMC this October!

It’s been rumoured for some time, but it just became official: a newproper Ratchet and Clank title is in the works over at Insomniac.

Titled Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus, the PS3 exclusive will retail for $29.99, and hit stores (and PSN) this holiday season. Into the Nexus is a single player return to form for Ratchet and Clank, which should be very welcome after the last few (mediocre) multiplayer offerings.

Take a look at the game’s first trailer below, and let us know how excited you are to return to the world of Ratchet and Clank! I wonder if the PS4 will release before this game hits shelves?

Following the train and funeral clips from earlier this week, Fox today debuted a third clip for James Mangold’s highly anticipated The Wolverine.

This one is easily the best of the three, taking us all the way back to World War II, when Logan saves a very particular soldier. The clip looks great, and brings back some of the excitement that I lost after seeing that awful train scene.

Take a look at the new clip below, and let us know what you think! The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th!

Fans of the epic fantasy webseries Walking In Circles certainly have something to celebrate today: season two is right around the corner, and a teaser trailer has just been released!

The show’s first season ended back in 2011. We’ve always known that a second season was coming, but it’s infinitely exciting to learn that it’s almost here.

Haven’t seen the series? Walking In Circles is an epic, medieval fantasy web series that follows the exploits of  Krag, The Barbarian Prince, who leads a party of not-so-heroic adventurers on a quest for fame and glory. It features the talents of Eric Radic (Grok, Crisis), Katie Wilson (2012: Ice Age), Adam Rady (1337LoungeLive), Ben Burch (A Brew Hope) amongst an outstanding cast of guest stars including Jolene Kay (Star Trek),  Jennifer Kairis (Warrior Showdown), and Diana Restrepo (Bondjamesbond), Azim Rizk (Power Rangers Megaforce) and Andrew Matthews (Vampire Bats, Bones). The first, eleven episode season can be watched in full here!

Again, the second season’s teaser trailer has just released, and I cannot wait to see more. Take a look at it below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to seeing Walking In Circles return!

This week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly is (of course) an annual Comic Con preview issue.

What better to grace the cover than one of the biggest comic book movies to be shown off next week, The Amazing Spider-Man 2? The cover features our first official look at Jamie Foxx as Electro, gives us a much better look at Garfield’s new spider-suit, and the issue also features a first image of Dane Dehaan’s Harry Osborn.

Take a look at the shots below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to this one. Which side of The Amazing Spider-Man fence do you sit on?

Fox today debuted a new featurette for The Wolverine, this time spotlighting the female ronin, Yukio.

This one is short and sweet, clocking in at just under a minute long. That being said, it does feature some cool new footage of the character, as well as explain exactly why Yukio is doing what she’s doing.

Take a look at the new featurette below, and let us know if you’re excited for the film! The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th!

Following yesterday’s ridiculous first clip, Fox today debuted another scene from the highly anticipated The Wolverine.

This one is leaps and bounds ahead of what we saw yesterday, and features a fight breaking out during a funeral. The action and effects all look infinitely more polished than what we’ve already seen, and there are definitely some impressive shots in this latest clip. I certainly hope that the bulk of the film looks closer to what we see here than the physics-less mess that we saw yesterday.

Take a look at the new clip below, and let us know if you’re excited for the movie! The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th!

Briefly: The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a fantastic property that could make a phenomenal movie or TV series if put in the right hands. Could those hands belong to Michael Greene and Fox?

TVLine has revealed that Fox has just purchased the rights to produce a ‘Put Pilot’ based on The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. This means that we’re extremely likely to see this come to light, as if a ‘Put Pilot’ is not aired, the network suffers a major penalty.

Michael Greene (Heroes, Smallville) will write and produce the pilot, which is still without a cast or director.

According to TVLine, the official logline for the series reads: “A drama series based on Alan Moore’s critically and commercially successful graphic novel series about a group of Victorian-age literary characters, including Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, who team up to fight a common enemy.”

Over ten years has passed since the terrible film adaptation of Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s first released to theatres. Do you think that enough time has gone by for people to forget about the film, or will people avoid this based on the name alone? The books are obviously held in very high regard, how do you think a series could turn out?

We’ll share more details as soon as they come in, but be sure to share your thoughts below!

While we’re bound to see more Captain America at San Diego Comic-Con next week, Disney has just debuted the teaser poster for next year’s Phase Two film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Being a teaser poster, the image really reveals nothing about the movie. Instead, it’s simply a cool, stylish shot of a war-torn shield, with the film’s April 4th release date underneath.

In any case, it’s an exciting taste of what’s to come. Take a look at the poster below, and look for more Captain America news when Geekscape heads to SDCC next week!

Black Mask Studios has yet another hit on their hands.

Not a fan of wordy reviews or slight spoilers? Here’s a quick take: Ballistic ranks among the best premiere issues that I have read in a long time. The book is violent, irreverent, and completely absurd, and I can’t recall the last time I’ve experienced such a fantastic mixture of those three things.

Years in the makingBallistic‘s infectious, humorous script comes from writer Adam Egypt Mortimer, while the superbly detailed, oft-disturbing artwork (right from the very first panel) has been created by HAPPY! and Transmetropolitan alum Darick Robertson.

Ballistic-001_001_large-800x1214

Ballistic‘s memorable opening begins with a unique issue: bad dudes have bad things to do, and it’s too freaking hot. Naturally they call in Butch: an HVAC repair man with dreams of becoming a criminal, whose best (and possibly only) friend is his talking, living gun. The dialogue shared between Butch and his firearm are some of the standout pages of the book; they speak as though they’re best friends, they act as though they simply couldn’t function without each other, and this relationship takes Ballistic to a completely new level.

That gun isn’t the only typically inanimate object that’s alive in Ballistic… every piece of technology is. This leads to some original problems (and solutions) throughout the course of the book, and gives Robertson’s artwork a very particular and distinguished feel. From pulling an optic nerve from an A/C unit, to a building with spines instead of pillars, all the way to an attempted bank robbery (which fails because the gun can’t fire due to having an overage of drugs in its system), Ballistic‘s slick writing and phenomenal art are both to be celebrated.

Ballistic-001_002_large-800x1214

Ballistic is set to hit shelves tomorrow (Wednesday, July 10th). The five issue miniseries began with a bang (in the biggest sense of the word), and I’m unbelievably excited to learn what comes next. If you can pick up one comic this week, make it this one! Ballistic scores a clear 5/5; this book is bound to sell out fast, so you may find it advantageous to call your LCS and add Ballistic to your pull list.

If you’re in the Los Angeles area, Ballistic writer Adam Egypt Mortimer will appear at Meltdown Comics tomorrow (July 10th) at 7:30PM for a signing. It’s a great opportunity to meet one of the creators of one of the best new miniseries’ of 2013. I wish I could be there, but unfortunately, I don’t fly down for a few more days!

Long awaited, and now just a few months away from release, Rockstar Games has just debuted the first phenomenal gameplay footage from Grand Theft Auto V. We all pretty much knew what we’d be looking at here, but damn does it look good.

I won’t waste any of your time describing the preview, as this just dropped seconds ago. Watch the footage below, and let us know how freaking excited you are! Grand Theft Auto V hits PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th!

Four. More. Days.

Pacific Rim is finally just around the corner, and Warner Bros. has just debuted a fantastic new behind-the-scenes featurette for the film. A multitude of cast and crew members are interviewed during the video, including Ron Perlman, Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, and more.

You must know by now just how excited we are for Pacific Rim. We even had a fantastic opportunity to sit down with Pacific Rim screenwriter Travis Beacham, both on the show, and in a private interviewPacific Rim is set to be one of the surprise hits of the Summer, and if all of the early buzz has been any indication, this is one film that you need to see in the biggest theatre that you possibly can.

San Diego Comic-Con is fast approaching, and so is the Comic-Con Nerd-A-Thon! The two night event presented by Tiny Nightmare Productions, Geekscape (that’s us!), and Devil’s Playground Burlesque. Night one features geek rock and comic vixens with Nerf Herder, Kirby Krackle, and H2Awesome, while night two will host DualCore, Wordburglar, Danimal Cannon, and Mega Ran.

We thought that the week before the convention would be a great time to catch up with some of the awesome talent that will be performing at the party. First up is Wordburglar, the spectacular geek-hip-hop artist that we cannot wait to hang out with (and of course, see perform).

Look for more interviews in the coming days, and don’t forget to pick up your tickets to the Comic-Con Nerd-A-Thon! They’re selling out fast, so grab them here while you still can! Now, on to Wordburglar!

Geekscape: Is this your first SDCC? If not, what is your favorite SDCC memory, and how long have you been attending?

After years of waiting, yes, 2013 will be my first time at SDCC.

Geekscape: Besides the Nerd-A-Thon event, what do you want to do most while you’re at SDCC?

I love walking the floor at conventions and taking in all the craziness. I’m always on the hunt for cool new comics, t-shirts and the odd GI JOE figure too. But most of all I’m just looking forward to meeting some creators I admire and maybe getting a couple sketches. You’ll probably find me at a bunch of the comic book panels and anything that has to do with GI JOE haha.

Geekscape: What got you into music and how did you end up with your style?

As a kid I don’t remember a time where music wasn’t playing in my house. My parents had tons of records – The Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, disco, motown, Michael Jackson, etc and I just always loved the melodies, beats etc. I discovered rap music at around age 6 or 7 and got hooked right away. My earliest rap heroes were Run DMC, Fresh Prince, Young MC, Public Enemy and Maestro Fresh Wes and I remember writing my first rhymes in grade six. My style evolved from years and years of writing crazy rhymes and having no one around to tell me to stop haha.

Geekscape: Would you call it a geek-centric style?

Haha well I’m definitely a geek – from music, to comic books, to video games to sports I get pretty nerdy about stuff. With my music I’ve always strived to be as honest as possible – which tends to manifest into obscure Valiant comics references and Toronto Blue Jays stats haha. But seriously, you gotta rap about what you know, right? So I rap about what I love – and a lot of that can be pretty geeky.

Geekscape: What makes you a geek?

Having lots of cool interests. And being a fan of the Quintessons.

Geekscape: Who are your geek heroes?

Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, Alan Moore, Larry Hama, George Lucas, Gene Roddenberry, Shigeru Miyamoto – creators who build entire worlds and characters where your imagination can just go nuts. I’m also a big Simon Pegg fan – I love Spaced, could watch that series over and over again.

Geekscape: Do you have anything special planned for the Nerd-A-Thon?

I’m planning a Galactus-level rhyming event. Bring an ultimate nullifier.

Geekscape: How do you approach writing/creating your music? Is it always from a geek mindset?

In terms of approaching songs with a committed obsession to making them awesome, yes, every time haha. With my latest album “Welcome To Cobra Island” it’s inspired by my love of old GI JOE comic books and cartoons, so I’ve definitely had to tap into my geeky side. Remembering weird tidbits of info, re-watching cartoons and flipping through old comics have all been key to making this record and turning these obscure things into songs. Which has been super fun. On 3rdburglar for example, some of the songs – like “Dude where’s my AT-AT at?” and “Drawings With Words” are very specific to Star Wars and comic books so I definitely came at them with a geek mindset. I’m making songs that I want to hear, so I guess in a way they’re already doomed to be geeky.

Geekscape: Movies, video games, comics, TV… what are the geek things you are into?

All of the above, but probably most of all comics. Right now I’m loving a lot of the BOOM & Image titles like Saga, Manhattan Projects, Revival, Deathmatch and Suicide Watch. Also just started reading The Wake from Vertigo which is fantastic. And I finally finished Sweet Tooth by Jeff Lemire – really great series. In terms of TV I like Venture Bros, Archer, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, y’know the good stuff. Also I’m a huge LOST fan still. Movie wise this summer I was blown away by Star Trek 2 and I’m looking forward to Elysium. Games wise I’m a pretty classic gamer, I much prefer side-scrollers and old school RPGs to the new stuff. I also once held the record for NARC in Nintendo Power.

Geekscape: What is the geekiest thing you do when no one is around (be honest, we won’t tell anyone (in person)?

Trying to memorize all of the GI JOE characters real names. Ralph Pulaski is Steeler.

Wordburglar’s latest album, “Welcome To Cobra Island” is available here. Again, Wordburglar is performing on night 2 (July 20th) of the Comic-Con Nerd-A-Thon, and it’s going to be incredible. We hope to see you there!

Back in February it was announced that Lakeshore Entertainment had acquired the film rights to the Luna Brothers’ incredible limited run comic book series, The Sword. Lakeshore doesn’t appear to be wasting any time with those rights, as the adaptation already has a screenwriter.

X-Men and Watchmen scribe David Hayter (yep, also the long running voice of Solid Snake) has taken the reins and will write the film’s screenplay. The Sword is set to begin production in early 2014, with sequels planned if the film does well (duh).

“David has a proven track record of bringing the multifaceted, beloved characters of graphic novels to mainstream audiences and we’re excited that he’ll be joining us for ‘The Sword,’” said Lakeshore Entertainment Chairman and CEO Tom Rosenberg. “Lakeshore has a history of delivering large-scale genre films at a budget that enables our international independent distributors to participate, and ‘The Sword’ will provide that opportunity.”

The film is still without a director or cast, but you can be sure we’ll keep you updated on this one! If you haven’t read The Sword, I’d implore you to do so, as it is easily one of the most enthralling comics that I’ve ever read.

Already a fan of the property? What do you think of the choice of writer?

Briefly: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is looking pretty awesome at this point, and today we learned just when we’ll be able to play it.

Microsoft’s Major Nelson has announced the official release date for the Xbox version of the title. The game will be available for download on August 28th, and will cost you a cool 1200 Microsoft Points (~$15). The PS3 and Steam versions of the title are expected to release around the same date.

I’m actually really excited for the game to come out. It’s been too many years since we’ve played a decent Turtles game, and from the trailers that we’ve seen so far, Out of the Shadows looks to feature some fantastic gameplay. Let us know if you’re planning to download when it hits the console of your choice!

Fox today debuted the first clip from this month’s highly anticipated release of James Mangold’s The Wolverine. We’ve seen pieces of this scene in almost every trailer so far, but somehow, seeing it all together makes me a little less excited for the film.

I’m all for suspending belief, but this is just ridiculous. I won’t spoil things for you, so take a look at the clip below, and let us know what you think! The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th, and hopefully the bulk of it is a lot better than this scene!

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality. Directed By James Mangold, The Wolverine hits theaters in 2D & 3D on July 26, 2013.

Spike Lee’s Oldboy is just a few months away from theatres at this point, and strangely enough we still haven’t seen any footage from it. That’s set to change next week with the film’s first trailer scheduled to debut on Wednesday, but until then, FilmDistrict has just unveiled an oddly stylish new poster for the film.

The tagline for the movie is fantastic, and definitely sets the stage for what’s to come. Embarrassingly, despite uncountable recommendations, I still haven’t seen Park Chan-wooks acclaimed original film. I’m running out of time to do so, so I’ll definitely have to put a priority on that one.

Take a look at the new poster below, and let us know if you’re excited! Oldboy hits theatres on October 25th.

OLDBOY follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement without any indication of his captor’s motive. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. His quest for revenge leads him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker (Elizabeth Olsen) and ultimately to an illusive man (Sharlto Copley) who allegedly holds the key to his salvation.

Briefly: Ever since Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, and Karen Gillan were added to the ranks of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the internet has been ripe with speculation on which characters the actors would be playing. Del Toro’s role has been called ” a multi-picture deal for a character that will have a big part in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” so that casting has been particularly interesting to fans.

Den of Geek has just confirmed with an unknown source just who the trio will portray in the film. Del Toro plays The Collector (one of the oldest beings in the universe, who collects things that would otherwise be destroyed), Pace is Ronan The Accuser (a Kree alien who has toyed with both sides of the force), and Gillan will portray Nebula (a space pirate who insists that she’s the granddaughter of Thanos).

Again, nothing’s official until it’s announced, but this is definitely an exciting rumour that, if true, could hold many secrets of what’s to come later in Phase Two. What do you think of the casting choices?

Guardians of the Galaxy hits theatres on August 1st, 2014.
