While space may still be mostly uncharted territory, that won’t stop us from celebrating it with the latest Loot Gaming crate! Featuring some of the best video games to take us into the great beyond, here’s what we unboxed this time around!

First off, the latest pin captures the wonder of space exploration with its logo showing off a bright launch. Shining bright like the infinite possibilities that the lands beyond the stars offer, it’s a great addition to the growing collection of crate exclusive pins.

Returning with more Destiny love, this scarf will surely keep us warm while we team up with friends to keep the galaxy safe. As one of two potential designs, fans of the game now have a couple of different ways to show off their fandom while staying warm in the process. Not as warm as blaster fire in your face, but warm nonetheless.

That N7 logo can only mean one thing, Mass Effect is back in a big way. Just a few months short of the big release of Mass Effect Andromeda, this new T-Shirt gives us a way to get reacquainted to Bioware’s space epic, with plenty of relationships to form along the way. Now, don’t expect to run into any sexy blue aliens, but then again, with this shirt on, you never know…

As a huge Ratchet and Clank fan, it was easy for me to decide that this Omniwrench replica was my favorite item of the crate. As an awesome miniature display, Ratchet’s trademark weapon serves as a puzzle solving tool when its not bashing bad guys over the head. Then, to my surprise, the wrench top fell off to reveal a pen! I might not have realized it was a pen until this happened, but know that it’s known, it makes the item even cooler. What better way to trudge through those lectures or take those notes then with an intergalactic space weapon? Count me in!

That does it for our space themed Loot Gaming crate! What were your picks for best items for this go around, and what do you want to see in future boxes? As always, when signing up for your own boxes, use the coupon code “Geekscape” for a discount!

Sony’s full fledged Ratchet and Clank movie is getting the full Hollywood treatment, thanks in part to some surprising voice talent announcements, courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter!

In addition to the returning Arnold Taylor and David Kay as the titular duo, and Armin Shimerman reprising Dr. Nefarious, they’re joined by Sylvester Stallone, Paul Giamatti, Rosario Dawson and John Goodman in yet to be announced roles! It’s clear that those behind the film see this as more than just a “video game movie,” so fans of the franchise can relax a bit knowing that this film, (along with the upcoming Sly Cooper adaptation,) seems to be in good hands.

The question remains though, who will they play? Considering this film and its accompanying game will be a retelling/reboot of the original, we have a few ideas about which characters are likely to pop up, (such as the dreaded Chairman Drek,) but I worry a bit since Captain Quark’s actor wasn’t mentioned in the story. I could see someone like Sly hamming up a performance for him, but considering how iconic he is to the game, I just REALLY want the origianl voice for the bumbling superhero.

Still, with the already announced appearance of Nefarious, it’s clear that this retelling won’t shy away from taking liberties with the original game, creating the possibility of new characters being introduced to flesh out the film. Which characters would you match up with the voice cast?

Keep an eye out for Ratchet and Clank when the movie and game both drop in 2016.

Ratchet and Clank Movie Banner

Immediately following the trailer for the upcoming Ratchet and Clank movie, Sony briefly announced that a full remake of the original platformer for the PS2 is in the works, likely to launch near the theatrical release of the film.

Bringing the charm, wit and vibrant world of Ratchet and Clank to movie screens was a surprising, yet logical move when it was announced last year. Seemingly acting as a retelling of the first game, (with Ratchet sporting his updated Tools of Destruction looks as opposed to that shirtless…. thing), it looks like fans both old and new will have something fresh to look forward to as Sony brings attempts its first film based on one of their game properties.

After over 10 games that span three platforms, it’s safe to say that the series has become one of Sony’s most beloved. The added news that we’ll get a PS4 iteration of the title with the team at Insomniac back at the helm can only be good news.

My only problem is… Is it necessary? We just got an HD collection of the entire series a little over a year ago on the PS3, so making an HD-er version so soon after might be a tough sell. On the bright side, the game will surely be a complete remake instead of the halfhearted “HD” versions we’ve become so used to, so the more improvements to the original that we can get, the better.

But as a wise man once said, it doesn’t matter what I think! Will you pick up a remake of the PS2 classic? And will you be in line to watch the movie when it comes out next year? Check out the trailer and be heard in the comments!

It’s been rumoured for some time, but it just became official: a newproper Ratchet and Clank title is in the works over at Insomniac.

Titled Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus, the PS3 exclusive will retail for $29.99, and hit stores (and PSN) this holiday season. Into the Nexus is a single player return to form for Ratchet and Clank, which should be very welcome after the last few (mediocre) multiplayer offerings.

Take a look at the game’s first trailer below, and let us know how excited you are to return to the world of Ratchet and Clank! I wonder if the PS4 will release before this game hits shelves?

Cross buy is one of the biggest incentives Sony has introduced for gamers who are thinking of taking the plunge and buying a Vita. As seen with Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault, things don’t always go as planned. Due to a lack of quality with the Vita port, which was supposed to launch simultaneously with the PS3 version in November, handheld owners had to wait until this week to finally play their promised copy.

To compensate for the wait, those who use the cross buy feature to download the Vita version will also receive Ratchet: Deadlocked, Ratchet’s “extreme” identity crisis from the PS2 days. Including the Ratchet and Clank HD Collection and the series of fantastic PS3 games in the franchise, Deadlocked marks the release of the entire Ratchet and Clank series in HD on the PS3. I guess good things really do come to those who wait!

A release date for Deadlocked outside of this deal has yet to be named, but two games for the price of one when they’re part of a premier platforming series like these are nothing to shake a Lombax’s tale at.
