Worried that with E3 going on you won’t get any comic news? Worry not! Courtesy of USA TODAY we have the cover and first five pages of Darwyn Cooke’s ‘Before Watchmen: Minutemen’ for you. This six-issue series will focuse on ‘The Minutemen’ who were were the premier group of superheroes throughout the 1940s. They were founded in 1939, largely through the actions of Nelson Gardner (Captain Metropolis), Sally Jupiter (the first Silk Spectre) and Sally Jupiter’s agent Laurence Schexnayder. Schexnayder also provided the group’s publicity. After several public controversies, the group finally disbanded in 1949.

With the recent announcement of the sequel to ‘X-Men: First Class’ having a release date of July 18, 2014 it is highly possible that details to the film may start to drip out and one rumor already has.

Aint It Cool is reporting something that will quite possibly make fans happy

“One of my little birds Weapon X recently dropped me some information that 20th Century Fox had recently registered the title DAYS OF FUTURE PAST with the MPAA Title Registration Bureau. The Bureau exists for studios and productions companies to stake their claims on certain titles that they intend to release and distribute, so that others can stray from using a similar title.”

Fans have been begging for Sentinels since almost around the time of ‘X2: X-Men United’ and we were given that major tease of one in ‘X3’. I was so excited when I heard there was Sentinels in ‘X3’ and as soon as the scene ended all I could say was “…wait. That was it?!”

Now some of you younger fans may not have any idea what I’m talking about here. So, from Wikipedia here a little info about ‘Days Of Future Past’ and just why this could be a very exciting story to take elements from:

“The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men. She succeeds in her mission and returns to the future, but despite her success, the future timeline still exists as an alternative timeline rather than as the actual future.”

The story also featured huge involvements from Rachel Summers and Nimrod. And while a direct adaptation is unlikely as hell to happen (especially since Shadowcast was like 16 in ‘X3’…unless they’re going to somehow ignore that)… incorporating elements could happen and I definitely have faith in Vaughn after seeing ‘First Class’. Another interesting element is that months back Rob Lifefeld has tweeted “Also excited to discuss possibilities of Cable in future X-films!!!” Could this film be a way to incorporate Nathan Summers? Only time will tell! Pun intended.

If you haven’t played ‘War For Cybertron’ by now you’re missing out on what is hands down the best ‘Transformers’ game out there. Well… High Moon Studios are back with their follow up ‘Fall Of Cybertron’ (Their ‘Dark Of The Moon’ game was so rushed and sloppy that I ignore its existence) and here’s a look at the epicly awesome Metroplex heeding the call of the last Prime!

‘Fall Of Cybertron’ transforms and rolls out on August 28, 2012.

An awesome spoiler lies ahead! You have been warned! Today via HannibalDelarge’s Tumblr a set image from ‘Iron Man 3’ popped up that featuring the logo of a familiar group…

The the infamous terrorist organization A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) apparently will have a role in ‘Iron Man 3’? Now that is unexpected.

Unfamiliar with A.I.M.? Well, A.I.M. is an organization of brilliant scientists and their hirelings dedicated to the acquisition of power and the overthrow of all government by technological means. A.I.M. was organized during World War II as the scientific research division of the subversive military organization Hydra. It supplied hardware and weapons to governmental and quasi-governmental agencies. Some time after this Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. exposed A.I.M. to be a subversive organization. A.I.M.’s activities have been covert since.

A.I.M. also created M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing), an artificially mutated human being with an enormous head and a stunted body possessing superhuman intelligence and the ability to generate mental energy bolts and force fields.

Does this mean we could get a A.I.M./Hydra team-up in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? May we get a M.O.D.O.K. easter egg of perhaps an appearance?

Worried that this is just going to be another recycled ‘Call Of Duty’? Worry no more! Treyarch and Mason are back… and the future is black. Check out the first bit of gameplay footage shown from ‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2’ today at E3!

And if you never caught the reveal trailer…

UPDATE: The teaser trailer has hit and here it is!

Capcom has just released their official new trailer for ‘Resident Evil 6’ from E3. This trailer is better than some movie trailers i’ve seen. All I can say after seeing this is… wow. We see plenty of new gameplay, exciting plot elements and new horrors to endure. Neo-Umbrella? Weskers son? Ada Wong? New B.O.W.’s? I’m sold.

Glad I pre-ordered the collectors edition.

‘Resident Evil 6’ returns to the horror October 2, 2012.

Courtesy of XBox we have your first look at  ‘Halo 4’ from E3.

The “Commissioning” Live-Action Trailer witness the unbridled optimism of the launch of the UNSC Infinity, then its crash as an ancient evil pulls it into a mysterious world where the Master Chief will begin an epic new Halo adventure.

Production on ‘Iron Man 3’ began last month North Carolina and we’ve been seeing plenty of set images (some containing spoilers) but today Marvel released an official image of the set. In it we see Tony Stark in his garage amongst quite a number of his armors.

Press release:

Following in the footsteps of the record-breaking Marvel Studios’ release “Marvel’s The Avengers,” production on the highly anticipated film “Iron Man 3,” directed by Shane Black, has commenced production in Wilmington, North Carolina. The production schedule will also include locations in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, Miami, Florida and China.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, “Iron Man 3” returns Robert Downey Jr. (“Iron Man,” “Marvel’s The Avengers”) as the iconic Super Hero character Tony Stark/Iron Man along with Gwyneth Paltrow (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,”) as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle (“Iron Man 2”) as James “Rhodey” Rhodes and Jon Favreau (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2”) as Happy Hogan. Set for release in the U.S. on May 3, 2013, Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” marks the second feature to be fully owned, marketed and distributed by Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009.

“Iron Man 3” continues the epic, big-screen adventures of the world’s favorite billionaire inventor/Super Hero, Tony Stark aka “Iron Man.” Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Charles Newirth, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard and Dan Mintz.

The creative production team on the film includes two-time Oscar®-winning director of photography John Toll, ASC (“Braveheart,” “Legends of the Fall”), production designer Bill Brzeski (“The Hangover,” “Due Date”), editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Captain America: The First Avenger”) and Peter S. Elliot (“Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer”), and costume designer Louise Frogley (“Quantum of Solace,” “Contagion”).

Marvel Studios most recently produced the critically acclaimed “Marvel’s The Avengers,” which set the all-time, domestic 3-day weekend box office record at $207.4 million. The film, which is currently in release, continues to shatter box office records and is The Walt Disney Studios’ highest-grossing global and domestic release of all time and marks the studios’ fifth film to gross more than $1 billion worldwide.

In the summer of 2011, Marvel successfully launched two new franchises with “Thor,” starring Chris Hemsworth, and “Captain America: The First Avenger,” starring Chris Evans. Both films opened #1 at the box office and have grossed over $800 million worldwide combined. In 2010 “Iron Man 2,” starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson and Mickey Rourke, took the #1 spot in its first weekend with a domestic box office gross of $128.1 million.

In the summer of 2008, Marvel produced the summer blockbuster movies “Iron Man” and “The Incredible Hulk.” “Iron Man,” in which Robert Downey Jr. originally dons the Super Hero’s powerful armor and stars alongside co-stars Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow, was released May 2, 2008, and was an immediate box office success. Garnering the number one position for two weeks in a row, the film brought in over $100 million in its opening weekend. On June 13, 2008, Marvel released “The Incredible Hulk,” marking its second number one opener of that summer.

With an upcoming release date (yet still no trailer?) The Official Dredd Facebook Page has released an updated plot outline for the film:

“The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One- a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge – a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at a fraction of its normal speed.

During a routine day on the job, Dredd is assigned to train and evaluate Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities thanks to a genetic mutation. A heinous crime calls them to a neighborhood where fellow Judges rarely dare to venture- a 200 story vertical slum controlled by prostitute turned drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) and her ruthless clan. When they capture one of the clan’s inner circle, Ma-Ma overtakes the compound’s control center and wages a dirty, vicious war against the Judges that proves she will stop at nothing to protect her empire. With the body count climbing and no way out, Dredd and Anderson must confront the odds and engage in the relentless battle for their survival.

The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and director Pete Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film. Filmed in 3D with stunning slow motion photography sequences, the film returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip.”

‘Dredd’ is the law in theaters September 21, 2012.

It all began with one man… isn’t that how it always goes? First we have that one man eating the face of another in Miami, then in New Jersey a man stabbed himself and threw his intestines at police. Now another man admitted he killed his room-mate then ate his heart and brains? Oh and we cannot forget to mention the woman who ate her babies brains. Or even back to about a month ago when a man in Massachusetts ate parts of his wife?

Has the world gone mad? Is there a virus out there that some idiot working in a top secret lab dropped on himself and he brought out into the world? Is the Umbrella Corporation real?

I can’t answer any of those questions for you. What I can do is tell you that “bath salts” have become the new drug people are searching for on the Internet ever since that attack in Miami last week. What are “bath salts” you ask?

‘Bath Salts’ are a synthetic drug that reportedly produces “an extreme high of euphoria” and is comparable to amphetamines and cocaine. This drug prevents the person from sleeping for days which has led to people comparing the users to “zombies”. A 50-milligram packet of the white powdery bath salts reportedly sells for $25 to $50, and is also known by street names like “Ivory Wave,” “Vanilla Sky,” “Bliss,” and “Purple Rain.” But… sadly you don’t break into a sexy version of ‘When Doves Cry’. No, instead you eat the flesh of the homeless.

Now while there is legislation being passed criminalizing synthetic marijuana and some ”bath salts”  and people saying these people were just mentally ill or on drugs. Well… i’m not ruling anything out.

Baseball bat? Check. Nail gun? Check. Molotov ingredients? Check. Locations of hot female friends that may be in need of saving? Check. Check. Check.

‘Prometheus’ the Ridley Scott prequel to ‘Alien’ that isn’t a prequel has already started off strongly this weekend. Going head to head with ‘Snow White And The Huntsman’ the film is the biggest opening day for a Ridley Scott film ever in the UK.

We have had a superb start with Prometheus opening a clear No. 1 grossing £2.2m ($3.39M). This includes an estimated £200k ($306K) from special midnight screenings on Thursday,” the studio told Deadline.

The two x70mm IMAX locations in the UK (London and Manchester) reported sold out showings all day yesterday and even late night screenings were sold out in advance. ‘Prometheus’ has also broken records for advance IMAX screenings set by ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows Part 2’ and ‘Avatar’. It could have performed even stronger in that department but most of the IMAX shows were only playing one evening performance on top of MIB3′ because Sony had a 2-week agreement with IMAX digital.

The movie opens here on Friday and I for one will be there at midnight on Thursday.

Let’s be honest. We knew it was going to do good. But this good? As of today Marvels ‘The Avengers’ has become the third highest gross film domestically (knocking down ‘The Dark Knight’) and worldwide with a massive $1.331 billion taking the third place spot from ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows Part 2’.

The film has been smashing records ever since its massive release and doesn’t look like its done yet. Many people are wondering if it has what it takes to knock ‘Titanic’ off that second place spot. With a theatrical run that doesn’t look to be ending anytime soon and one more country to still be released in (‘The Avengers’ opens in Japan in August) it very well could. I know I plan on assembling again at least once.

I think there are still a number of people that are just finding out that there is going to be a ‘Robocop’ reboot. And im sure there’s probably plenty of internet goers screaming “WHY?!” But with the level of talent being attached to this film you can’t help being excited or at least just being somewhat interested. Collider recently spoke with Joel Kinnama (The Killing) who will be playing the lead role of Alex Murphy.

On the level of interest in the movie Kinnaman went on to say “It’s like when you say one thing, it’s everywhere, and that’s pretty awesome and a little bit intimidating. It makes you realize you have to think before speaking. That’s a quality I’m continuously evolving. For some reason, it seems like I’m bumping my head into the wall a little bit too many times, but now I think I’m doing alright. It’s fantastic. I used to be like “Why are we doing a remake? What are remakes being done for?” But then, we do that all the time in the theater. If we weren’t doing remakes, nobody would know who Shakespeare was. I’m not saying that Robocop is Shakespeare, but it’s a way to … we’re retelling. That’s what we do as human beings. We retell our favorite stories. That’s what we’ve done since we were sitting around campfires. It’s a part of the human spirit. It doesn’t have to be negative to creativity. It can be completely opposite. That’s how you can break new ground by rethinking something that’s already been done. José has a completely different take on this than Verhoeven had, and with all respect, everybody that’s involved in this movie loved the original and we have a lot of respect for it. We’re going to have a lot of throwbacks and there’s going to be a lot of fun stuff for the fans of the first movie. It’s a new story within the old one.”

Kinnaman was also asked if he was nervous about signing for a multi-picture deal and stated “No.  I mean that sort of comes with the territory, and so far, everything that I’ve been promised and everything that I’ve heard about the project has really come to life.  Everybody is trying to make something real, something with a core of substance, and of course, an exciting action movie with a lot of terrific stuff and fantastic visuals and everything, but at the core of it, it’s a movie with substance and something that is going to make people think.

When asked about how he felt about working with Gary Oldman “That feels about as surreal as me being RoboCop. I couldn’t be happier. He’s pretty much the grand master of the game. … So, I’m very, very excited and we have great scenes that have a lot of the substance that I was talking about. It’s very much a relationship between Gary Oldman’s character and Alex Murphy.

I’d buy that for a dollar!

Also on what new characters to expect “We will only have one more new character. I won’t say who he… I won’t say who he or she is! But we will only be bringing one more new character in, because, I think, as Professor X is in a wheelchair, Magneto needs to have a nemesis he can fight with. Someone that will be his equal. No, you read it right. Wizard World is releasing this. Was this a drunken bet that went bad? Are we that desperate for new comic ideas that we sank to this low? And how many debts did Paul Jenkins (Wolverine: Origins, Batman, Hulk, Spider-Man), Talent Caldwell (Superman, X-Men, G.I. Joe), and Paul Mounts (Avengers, Ultimate X-Men, Wolverine, and Thor) owe to be making this book? Because these aren’t the worst names in the industry and I’m sorry but seeing a book revolving around this guys abs and drunken sex with Snooki isn’t my idea of a great comic. What’s next? Bad Girls Club Monthly? Top Chef: Origins? Secret Sixteen And Pregnant? The first issue is due on shelves in time for Wizard World Chicago Comic Con, August 9-12. And guess who will be there? Mike “The Situation” Sorrento himself!

Great.

‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ swings into theaters July 3, 2012.

SPOILER WARNING! You have been warned of the awesome spoiler ahead.

The Iron Patriot armor has been spotted on the set. And its not Tony Stark nor Norman Osborn (well obviously) wearing it.

The Superficial posted up these pics of The Iron Patriot armor being worn by James Badge Dale who will be playing Coldblood-7.

How rad is that armor?

‘Iron Man 3’ suits up May 3, 2013.

So, who is Ben Kingsley playing? How big of a role does Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian have? Well, according to Latino Review they can confirm that Ben Kingsley will be playing…

SPOILER ALERT

The Mandarin!

Wait…didn’t Marvel insist that he was NOT going to be in the movie? Then again Marvel said Loki wasn’t in ‘The Avengers’ in the start at that the aliens weren’t The Chitauri. So we can’t always trust that. Apparently a source that isn’t just some random security guard making up a bunch of nonsense (it happens) HAS confirmed that he is in the movie. But the thing is… Marvel wasn’t completely lying. The Mandarin will not be the primary villain but more of a silent partner to Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian. Aldrich is the man who invents “Extremis” and an “Extremis army”.

Some very interesting details right here.
