Marvel Knights Animation has been putting out some incredible content lately. Their motion comics truly are works of art, and Wolverine Weapon X: Tomorrow Dies Today is something to behold. Check out the trailer below!

The future is controlled by a malevolent mega-corporation known as Roxxon — which keeps its tight grip on society through the use of cyborgs, the Deathloks, whose sole purpose is to seek out current and future vigilantes — and neutralize them with extreme prejudice. Now, in order to prevent Roxxon’s rise and the eventual slaughter of the world’s heroes, Wolverine must join forces with a mysterious woman possessing unexplained knowledge of the coming dystopia. He won’t give up until the Deathloks are stopped, but what hope is there to prevent a future that has already come to pass?

The DVD boasts a behind the scenes featurette that goes inside the creation process of a Marvel Knights animation.

You can snag  Wolverine Weapon X: Tomorrow Dies Today on DVD only at Shout! Factory on May 13th!

So, now even if this movie sucks you can watch it for the sheer enjoyment of the beauty of Jessica Biel being in it. You read that right kiddies. Ms. Biel has joined the cast as Victoria/Viper.

According to Marvel lore Viper bounces between good and not so good and she holds some sway over Wolverine but is mostly a foe to the X-Men and Avengers.

I hated that last Wolverine movie but the recent castings has definitely increased the interest I have in this flick that started with James Mangold directing.

‘The Wolverine’ claws its way into theaters July 26, 2013.

So, remember ‘Wolverine And The X-Men’? That fan-favorite animated series that only made it through one season because it couldn’t find the funding for a second one? Well, ‘1 Million To Save Wolverine And The X-Men’ has updated their Facebook page with some awesome concept art showing what could have been had the series continued.

Deadpool? Cable? Scarlet Witch? Havok? Age Of Apocalypse in animated form?!

Now I just kind of picked my own favorites here but if you check out their Facebook page you can see them all. This includes some colored in versions of the AoA concepts.

Now while ‘AvX Round 6’ hasn’t even hit stands yet we have a first look at the cover for Round 11.

The final month of AvX opens with the first of two extra-sized issues! Fatality!”

One of the best pieces of casting when it came to ‘looking the part’ ‘First Class’ was Lucas Till as Alex Summers, also known as Havok. While they did take a few liberties, I do think they did a good job with the character. Hopefully we will get a little more screen time for Alex Summers this time, as we didn’t get much character development the first time around.

IGN spoke with Till at E3 this past week about the upcoming sequel.

“All I know is that my mom told me we’re going to start shooting in January. It’s funny because she tells me everything that goes on before I know. I don’t know if you saw, but Havok shoots hula hoops out of his body. I remember when (director Matthew Vaughn) told me, and I was like, ‘NOOOO!’ It’s going to ruin it for all the fans of Havok and I tried to make the best of it, but I really hope in the next one that the chest piece—because there’s always that circle in the middle so you could tell where his power level was at—but not necessarily used as a device to channel the energy from. I want some gauntlets or something to shoot it out of my hands, and I want Polaris in there. I want a sexy green-haired girl to fall in love with. That’s all I’m asking for.”

With the recent announcement of the sequel to ‘X-Men: First Class’ having a release date of July 18, 2014 it is highly possible that details to the film may start to drip out and one rumor already has.

Aint It Cool is reporting something that will quite possibly make fans happy

“One of my little birds Weapon X recently dropped me some information that 20th Century Fox had recently registered the title DAYS OF FUTURE PAST with the MPAA Title Registration Bureau. The Bureau exists for studios and productions companies to stake their claims on certain titles that they intend to release and distribute, so that others can stray from using a similar title.”

Fans have been begging for Sentinels since almost around the time of ‘X2: X-Men United’ and we were given that major tease of one in ‘X3’. I was so excited when I heard there was Sentinels in ‘X3’ and as soon as the scene ended all I could say was “…wait. That was it?!”

Now some of you younger fans may not have any idea what I’m talking about here. So, from Wikipedia here a little info about ‘Days Of Future Past’ and just why this could be a very exciting story to take elements from:

“The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men. She succeeds in her mission and returns to the future, but despite her success, the future timeline still exists as an alternative timeline rather than as the actual future.”

The story also featured huge involvements from Rachel Summers and Nimrod. And while a direct adaptation is unlikely as hell to happen (especially since Shadowcast was like 16 in ‘X3’…unless they’re going to somehow ignore that)… incorporating elements could happen and I definitely have faith in Vaughn after seeing ‘First Class’. Another interesting element is that months back Rob Lifefeld has tweeted “Also excited to discuss possibilities of Cable in future X-films!!!” Could this film be a way to incorporate Nathan Summers? Only time will tell! Pun intended.

Amongst others Fox has set release dates for sequels to ‘X-Men: First Class’ and ‘Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes’.

First up we have on Memorial Day (May 23, 2014), Fox unleashes ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ The sequel to the $483 million grossing ‘Rise Of The Planet Apes’ Rupert Wyatt will be returning to direct. Andy Serkis has been confirmed to be returning as Caesar.

On July 18, 2014 we will see the release of the currently untitled sequel to the highly acclaimed and successful ‘X-Men: First Class’. Matthew Vaughn will return to direct and Bryan Singer will return to produce. Most of the cast has been confirmed as returning. Vaughn has previously stated about the sequel that “First Class is similar toBatman Begins’ where you have the fun of introducing the characters and getting to know them, but that takes time. But with the second one, you can just get on with it and have a rollicking good time. That’s the main difference between ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘The Dark Knight'”

Also on what new characters to expect “We will only have one more new character. I won’t say who he… I won’t say who he or she is! But we will only be bringing one more new character in, because, I think, as Professor X is in a wheelchair, Magneto needs to have a nemesis he can fight with. Someone that will be his equal. I know who it is. It would be nice if I could say something, but I can’t, mate!”

Other announced releases:

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters’ will hit theaters August 16, 2013.

‘Robopocalypse’ will be released April 25, 2014.

And finally… after the success of ‘Titanic 3D’ Fox has decided to re-release ‘Independence Day’ in 3D on July 3, 2013

Well, to begin… if you’re not reading Ultimate Comics X-Men… drag yourself to the store tomorrow and buy all twelve issues. It’s that good. This series is one of those books that when you’re done reading the last page you keep trying to turn it to find more hidden pages and upon giving up you read the issue again trying to catch things you missed. The book has been telling multiple story lines and doing a great job at it so far and leaving you hungry and wanting more each time. I was particularly excited for this issue due to it focusing on one of my all time favorite characters… Alex Summers aka Havok.

It picks up months after the Ultimatum wave where we find Alex Summers checked into a mental institution.

I’m going to try and make this review as spoiler free as I can so here goes…

The art is clean and fantastic. The story flows well with what has been going on in the past issues (like I said… spend your kids lunch money) and even makes it make less sense but in an awesome way. Flashbacks, hallucinations, bears… oh my. Well minus the bears that is.

The secondary focus of the issue is a mysterious character who you wont find out the identity of until the final page. And when you do find out his identity and you also pay close attention to that page and the “… what the hell” aspects of it… you’ll definitely go back to page one and give this book a second read. I’m more bummed that I have to wait another month to read the next issue than I am by the news of GI Joe being pushed back a year.

Maybe I’m being a tad biased due to my love of this series (and trust me… I used to be quite anti-Ultimate)

Score: 8.5/10

Well, if you’ve been seeing the promos and you’ve been wondering “Wow…who is getting married in Astonishing X-Men?” well…you’re the only one.

Marvel seems to be one upping DC yet again. DC announced this week that one of their characters would be coming out as gay. Well..Marvel has been there and done that (Rictor and Shatterstar for those behind on the times) and they’re going the next step.

In issue #51 we will see Kyle and Northstar tie the knot. Well that is…unless someone comes to ruin the day in the typical comic fashion.

From Marvel Editor in Chief Axel Alonso:

“The Marvel Universe has always reflected the world outside your window, so we strive to make sure our characters, relationships and stories are grounded in that reality. We’ve been working on this story for over a year to ensure Northstar and Kyle’s wedding reflects Marvel’s ‘world outside your window’ tradition.”
