The adaptation of the IDW graphic novel Lore may now have it’s director. The property was first acquired back in 2010, and producers were hoping for a Men In Black-style franchise to start with the adaptation. Well, it looks like they’re getting their wish because they’ve got the director being all three of the Men In Black films in talks to direct the film.

Dwayne Johnson signed on to back in April for the film written by Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott. It is currently unknown if Sonnenfeld will rework the script before production starts but he has plenty of time. Due to Johnson’s filming schedule it’s likely that production won’t start until early 2013.

A synopsis of the graphic novel:

In times past, the world was full of mythical creatures, creatures long since banished and held at bay by the secret society of Shepherds. But when the generational line of Shepherds is broken, a reluctant hero finds her life threatened from every quarter. And the creatures are coming back…

So, now even if this movie sucks you can watch it for the sheer enjoyment of the beauty of Jessica Biel being in it. You read that right kiddies. Ms. Biel has joined the cast as Victoria/Viper.

According to Marvel lore Viper bounces between good and not so good and she holds some sway over Wolverine but is mostly a foe to the X-Men and Avengers.

I hated that last Wolverine movie but the recent castings has definitely increased the interest I have in this flick that started with James Mangold directing.

‘The Wolverine’ claws its way into theaters July 26, 2013.

According to Deadline, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is now attached to the Warner Bros. flick Lore, a movie that is based on the IDW comic by Ashley Wood. Lore tells the story of a world in which mythical creatures have been held back from the modern world by a secret society called Shepherds. But the line of Shepherds has been broken and these creatures are coming back.

For those not familiar with Wood, you might know his work. He is the man responsible for the awesome covers on  30 Days of Night and the artwork in the PSP game Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. I personally have never heard of nor read Lore, but after finding out it’s from Ashley Wood will check out out for sure. Dwayne Johnson and his ‘pop peck of loving’ self will next be seen in G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
