The adaptation of the IDW graphic novel Lore may now have it’s director. The property was first acquired back in 2010, and producers were hoping for a Men In Black-style franchise to start with the adaptation. Well, it looks like they’re getting their wish because they’ve got the director being all three of the Men In Black films in talks to direct the film.

Dwayne Johnson signed on to back in April for the film written by Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott. It is currently unknown if Sonnenfeld will rework the script before production starts but he has plenty of time. Due to Johnson’s filming schedule it’s likely that production won’t start until early 2013.

A synopsis of the graphic novel:

In times past, the world was full of mythical creatures, creatures long since banished and held at bay by the secret society of Shepherds. But when the generational line of Shepherds is broken, a reluctant hero finds her life threatened from every quarter. And the creatures are coming back…

Awhile back Barry Sonnenfeld revealed that he was in talks with DC to work on one of their properties.

“You know, I’m talking to Warner Bros. about doing a franchise based on a comic that hasn’t been around since the 60s. But it’s too early to talk about it. But possibly, yes.”

Well, Vulture has found out what it is and the secret is out of the bag.

It’s ‘The Metal Men’! Aka what the fuck DC?!

The Metal Men centers on an artificial-intelligence expert named William Magnus who creates six cyborgs, each made from a distinct chemical element with talents reflecting their places in the periodic table: Gold, their leader, was almost infinitely stretchable; Iron, the strongman; Lead, the simpleton protector; Mercury, the capricious risk-taker who could melt into the tiniest crevices; Platinum, a female cyborg who could flatten herself but who couldn’t believe she wasn’t a real woman.

Do we really need or want a ‘Metal Men’ movie? I can honestly say i’d rather go see an Aquaman movie before this. And I hate Aquaman.
