Briefly: Can you believe that Star Fox Zero is already upon us? It seemed like just yesterday that the game was delayed from its original holiday 2015 launch window.

In any case, Nintendo is about to launch a hopefully awesome Star Fox game, and to celebrate this Wednesday they’ll debut a Star Fox animated short titles Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins.

The short will stream right here this Wednesday at 6PM Eastern. The short was produced in collaboration with Shigeru Miyamoto, and Production IG and WIT Studios, and based on the just-released 30 second teaser, it looks super cool.

Take a look at the teaser below, and be sure to let us know if you plan to pick up Star Fox Zero on April 22nd!

Briefly: Heck yes.

Funcom’s The Park has always looked absolutely terrifying to me, but as a console only player, I’ve never had an opportunity to give the title a shot.

Funcom’s investor blog has just revealed that the title is finally ready to launch for PS4 and Xbox One. Here’s the full announcement (they sure sound excited):

The Company previously communicated that “The Park” was targetted for a Console release during 2Q 2016.The main objective with this Console release of “The Park” is to acquire knowledge and experience with the processes related to releasing a game on Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s Playstation 4 consoles, in order to reduce the risks associated with Console releases for “Conan Exiles” and future titles.

The approval process required by the platform holders is now complete and the release date has been set to the 3rd of May 2016.

As previously communicated, the Company does not expect “The Park” to generate significant revenues.

So it sounds like the main reason for the release was simply for the developer to get more comfortable with developing for the consoles… but it doesn’t mean that I can’t be excited for it.

The game is “set in a creepy amusement park hiding a dark and sinister secret, The Park is a one to two hour long first-person psychological horror experience focusing on intense storytelling and exploration instead of combat and action. As the sun sets over Atlantic Island Park, you must explore its dilapidated rides in search of your son Callum and experience panic and paranoia through a narrative written by award winning storytellers.”

Take a look at the trailer for The Park below, and be sure to let us know if you’ll be giving it a shot!

Briefly: Following the awesome look at the film from the Super Bowl back in February (which gave us our fantastic first look at Krang and more), and last week’s fantastic trailer, Paramount has just debuted two new TV spots for the anticipated Summer flick.

While the first film had its (long list of) issues, overall I actually enjoyed the film as a whole. In any case, essentially everything that we’ve seen thus far from Out of the Shadows looks so much better than anythingthat we saw in the first film.

Take a look at the spots below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hits theatres on June 3rd!

Briefly: Jake just published his review of the second episode of noir adventure Blues and Bullets, and now we’ve learned that the title won’t be Xbox exclusive (console wise) for much longer.

Yep, on April 19th, A Crowd of Monsters will launch the first two episodes of the beloved, underplayed title on Sony’s console.

In the game, “When one day children start to disappear and the police just turns a blind eye to this, Eliot decides to take justice into his own hands and find, by any means necessary, the culprit and bring him to justice.”

Jake’s thoughts on the game (read his first episode review right here) definitely got me interested in the title (that I had sadly not heard of at that point), so I’m beyond excited to finally give it a shot!

Take a look at the PS4 announcement video for Blues and Bullets below, and be sure to let us know if you’re excited!

Briefly: Finally.

We got our very first look at Marvel / Sony’s new Spider-Man in the latest trailer for Captain America: Civil War, and earlier today at Las Vegas’ CinemaCon, our new Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, revealed the official title for the Spider-Man reboot reboot (via EW).

It’s called Spider-Man: Homecoming, and… is it just me, or does the logo (at this point, anyways) definitely looks a little jarring at first? In any case, Holland notes that the new, younger Parker “is trying to find his true identity and where he really belongs in this world.”

Aren’t we all?

Variety is also reporting that former Bruce Wayne / Birdman star Michael Keaton is in early talks to play the film’s head bad-guy. Homecoming is pretty top-secret at this point, so we have no idea who he would play (but hopefully it’s nobody that we’ve seen on the big screen before).

Of course, Holland’s Spider-Man will debut in Captain America: Civil War next month, while Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to hit theatres on July 7th, 2017!

Who would you like to see as the villain? Be sure to sound out in the comments below!

Briefly: Oh heck yes.

The very first trailer for Marvel’s Doctor Strange just debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and it’s so cool.

It’s our first look at Cumberbatch in motion as Stephen Strange, and he looks absolutely fabulous. The trailer definitely throws off some way too heavy Inception vibes, but is a great first look at Marvel’s next money printing machine.

When famous neurosurgeon Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) suffers career-ending injuries in a devastating car crash, he seeks help in the furthest reaches of the world! Hoping to find cures for his injuries, Strange instead uncovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Doctor Strange hits theatres on November 4th!

Briefly: Love Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, or hate Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, DC’s expanded film universe is now on its way in full force, and clearly isn’t going anywhere.

It’s been rumoured for some time now, and was also pretty damned obvious, but Warner Bros. confirmed today at CinemaCon that they’re working on a standalone Batman flick with Ben Affleck.

Of course, nothing was revealed about the project, and Warner Bros. head Kevin Tsujihara simply confirmed that “We’re excited to be working with Ben Affleck on a standalone Batman film.”

Will Affleck be directing this one? Or will he just have the starring role? That remains to be seen, but in any case I definitely dug Affleck’s Bruce Wayne / Batman, and can’t wait to see him get back in that suit (and hopefully learn how he became so jaded).

How did you feel about Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice? Sound out below!

Briefly: Following the awesome look at the film from the Super Bowl back in February (which gave us our fantastic first look at Krang and more), Paramount Pictures has just debuted an awesome new trailer for this Summer’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

While the first film had its (long list of) issues, overall I actually enjoyed the film as a whole. In any case, essentially everything that we’ve seen thus far from Out of the Shadows looks so much better than anything that we saw in the first film.

Take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hits theatres on June 3rd!

“TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS” is the sequel to the 2014 hit film “TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES.” The film is based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman and is directed by David Green (“EARTH TO ECHO”). Michael Bay (the “TRANSFORMERS franchise) returns to produce alongside his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form (” TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES”), with Galen Walker and Scott Mednick (“TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES”) also producing.

Also returning for the sequel is Megan Fox (“TRANSFORMERS”) as April O’Neil, Will Arnett (“Arrested Development”) as Vernon Fenwick and the Turtles: Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Pete Ploszek at Leonardo, and Jeremy Howard as Donatello. Rounding out the cast is Stephen Amell (“Arrow,”) as Casey Jones, Tyler Perry (“GONE GIRL”, the “MADEA” franchise) as Baxter Stockman, Academy Award nominated actress Laura Linney (“The Big C”, “LOVE ACTUALLY”) as Chief Rebecca Vincent, Brian Tee (“JURASSIC WORLD”) as Shredder, WWE World Heavy Weight Champion Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly as Rocksteady and Gary Anthony Williams (“THE INTERNSHIP”) as Bebop.

Briefly: Wizards of the Coast today revealed today revealed that its upcoming documentary, Enter The Battlefield – Life on the Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour will arrive on both Netflix and YouTube on April 26th.

The feature-length documentary follows “the stories of seven Magic players across a season: Reid Duke, Owen Turtenwald, William Jensen, Shahar Shenhar, Patrick Chapin, Melissa DeTora, and Chris Pikula. While their goal for every game is to defeat their opponent, their life on the Pro Tour is about personal goals. More than anyone, they compete with themselves.”

I’ve played Magic on and off for about 15 years at this point (that switch has sadly been in the off state for the past few years), and a look into the lives of the game’s very best players sounds incredibly interesting. You can take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know if you plan to watch!

Magic: The Gathering players, is now a good time to jump back into the game? Let me know in the comments below!

Briefly: I’m still not quite caught up on the series, so I’m definitely avoiding this video (classic Derek), but HBO has just debuted a new trailer for Game of Thrones upcoming sixth season, which premieres on April 24th.

Take a look at the trailer below (if you’re better at keeping up with television than I am, of course).

Is Jon Snow dead? Is he totally coming back? What the hell is even happening and is Winter still coming?

I have no clue, but feel free to speculate below!

Briefly: We’re just over a month away from Preacher‘s anticipated series premiere, and during last night’s season premiere of Fear the Walking Dead, the network debuted a new, bad-ass sneak peek at the series focusing on Ruth Negga’s Tulip.

Based on the twisted and popular ‘90s comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher,” created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find God. The Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production was developed for television by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (“This Is the End,” “Superbad,” “Neighbors”) and showrunner Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”). The series is set to premiere mid-2016.

Take a look at the video below, and be sure to let us know if you’re excited! Preacher hits AMC on May 22nd!

Briefly: Back in March of 2014, Naughty Dog revealed that Screen Gems and Sam Raimi were working on a film adaptation of Naughty Dog’s own acclaimed PS3/PS4 title, The Last of Us.

Naturally, those of us that fell in love with the game, its incredible emotion, and its fully realized post-apocalyptic world were extremely excited at the possibility, especially with a name like Sam Raimi attached.

Sadly, it sounds like things were a little too good to be true, and that the film won’t be happening any time soon. Actually, based on IGN’s recent interview with Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, the film hasn’t been worked on since shortly after it was announced:

“I know I said in an interview a while back we had a table read, got the script to a good place and it kind of entered development hell like these things tend to do. There hasn’t been any work done on it in over a year and a half.”

Dang.

The interview also notes that Naughty Dog hasn’t heard from Sony in some time in regards to the Uncharted film that’s slated for June 30th, 2017, so it really hasn’t been a great day for Naughty Dog fans excited for either film.

In any case, why not play the always fun game of speculative casting? Who would you like to see as Nathan Drake? How about The Last of Us’ Ellie? Sound out below!

The Last Of Us Left Behind

Briefly: Yeah, this is another series that’s ‘on the list’.

A list that I’ll never ever get through if I don’t immediately quit my job and start immediately, but I digress.

WGN America has just debuted the first teaser trailer for the upcoming third season of Salem, and the series looks just as twisted as it did when I was really excited for its first season to premiere (which I… still haven’t seen).

The new season is set to kickoff during the week of Halloween (good timing), and this season Marilyn Manson will even guest star as Salem’s own Sweeny Todd. Sounds bad-ass, doesn’t it?

Set in the volatile world of 17th century Massachusetts, SALEM explores what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials and dares to uncover the dark, supernatural truth hiding behind the veil of this infamous period in American history. In SALEM, witches are real, but they are not who or what they seem. The show, which centers on an epic romance wrapped around this explosive revelation, delivers a bold new vision of Salem — and an even bolder new vision of witches.

Briefly: It’s tough not to stare in awe at just how gorgeous this just-released theatrical trailer for Disney’s The BFG really is. I mean, wow.

Somehow, I’ve never read the beloved Roald Dahl book that the film is based on, but it’s tough not to get excited for what looks like another mysterious Spielberg family classic.

You can take a look at the new trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you think! The BFG hits theatres on July 1st!

https://youtu.be/GZ0Bey4YUGI

The talents of three of the world’s greatest storytellers – Roald Dahl, Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg – finally unite to bring Dahl’s beloved classic “The BFG” to life. Directed by Spielberg, Disney’s “The BFG” tells the imaginative story of a young girl and the Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. The BFG (Mark Rylance), while a giant himself, is a Big Friendly Giant and nothing like the other inhabitants of Giant Country. Standing 24-feet tall with enormous ears and a keen sense of smell, he is endearingly dim-witted and keeps to himself for the most part. Giants like Bloodbottler (Bill Hader) and Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement) on the other hand, are twice as big and at least twice as scary and have been known to eat humans, while the BFG prefers Snozzcumber and Frobscottle.

Upon her arrival in Giant Country, Sophie, a precocious 10-year-old girl from London, is initially frightened of the mysterious giant who has brought her to his cave, but soon comes to realize that the BFG is actually quite gentle and charming, and, having never met a giant before, has many questions. The BFG brings Sophie to Dream Country where he collects dreams and sends them to children, teaching her all about the magic and mystery of dreams.

Having both been on their own in the world up until now, their affection for one another quickly grows, but Sophie’s presence in Giant Country has attracted the unwanted attention of the other giants, who have become increasingly more bothersome. Sophie and the BFG soon depart for London to see the Queen (Penelope Wilton) and warn her of the precarious giant situation, but they must first convince the Queen and her maid, Mary (Rebecca Hall), that giants do indeed exist. Together, they come up with a plan to get rid of the giants once and for all.

Briefly: Zootopia was a freaking masterpiece.

Sadly, it was also a film that I largely ignored until it released to critical fanfare and essentially filled my Facebook news feed with praise.

I still don’t know a lot about the film (aside from the fact that it was awesome), which is why I’m beyond excited to watch this just released 45-minute long documentary chronicling the creation of this year’s best animated film.

“What did it take to bring the world of ‘Zootopia’ to life? Fusion spent two years with the production team of Disney’s smash hit film. In ‘Imagining Zootopia,’ you will travel with the team to Africa to explore the animals in their natural habitat and find out how the storytellers and animators dealt with the very real themes of prejudice and bias.”

Briefly: Last year I learned that a modern-day FMV title could actually be really, really good (thank you Her Story), and today I learned that a modern-day FMV title could also look absolutely terrifying.

Enter The Bunker. The game “tells the story of John, the last survivor living in a government bunker after a nuclear attack wiped out England. But the bunker holds many secrets, and John must confront his suppressed memories to survive the horrors deep underground…”

The game stars Adam Brown (The Hobbit trilogy) and Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful, Assassin’s Creed 3), and it looks super freaking scary. Yep, the story sounds a bit cliché (or a lot), but the addition of the entire game being in FMV at least adds a new element to the tried and true plot.

Take a look at the first trailer for The Bunker below, and be sure to let us know what you think! The game is set to hit PC, consoles, and mobile later this year!

Briefly: Following the insanely cool trailer from just a couple of weeks back, Fox today debuted four gorgeous new character posters for next month’s X-Men: Apocalypse, each image depicting one of Apocalypse’ four horsemen.

In the film, “Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

Take a look at the new X-Men: Apocalypse posters below (via the film’s official Twitter account), and let us know what you think! The film hits theatres on May 27th!

Our pal, writer, and Geekscape Games host Shane O’Hare loves My Little Pony. I mean loves. More than he loves, well, anything (including writing for Geekscape, his parents, flossing,  the list goes on and on).

He also lives in Alaska, which is (apparently) a super boring place to live.

A few months back, Shane had this crazy idea that only an obsessed Brony could concoct: bring all of (or many of) his fellow Bronies to Alaska so that he wouldn’t feel so alone… and rationalize it all by organizing a My Little Pony themed parade.

He told us that it would be huge, and that he’d love to stream it live on GeekscapeTV so that all of our readers and listeners could be a part of the festivities. We told him that we didn’t want any part in the damned thing… But he’s trying to make it happen anyways.

So, the least that we could do is give him a few minutes of our time with a Crowdfund This piece…

I mean, just look at how desolate Alaska can be:

TargetAlaska

And look at how much Shane loves dressing like a cartoon horse:

Wouldn’t you love to see an ear-to-ear smile on that man’s face? Shane’s looking to raise a cool $40116 to cover the costs of stables, parade organization, and to catch up on a few past-due bills (these things are expensive, okay), and as the campaign is officially starting today, he’s currently sitting at 0% of his unabashed campaign goal.

Of course, as with every crowdfunding campaign, there are some sweet, sweet rewards available for backers. We’ve got Shane O’Hare t-shirts, posters, and autographs. He’ll record you a hype voicemail message if that’s what you’re looking for, and for one generous backer, he’ll even share a bed with you at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Oh yeah, Kickstarter also declined to run Shane’s campaign, so if you’re looking to back the project (and how could you not want to at this point), you’ll want to contact Shane directly on Twitter @ShaneOhare. You can totally trust him.

Briefly: We’re now just four months away from the release of Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, and following the divisive first trailer from earlier this month, a new, Proton Pack-filled image from the film has debuted online via Empire.

The image features our four new ‘Busters, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones, “unloading their proton packs at a winged demon in a rock concert, in a scene briefly glimpsed in the trailer.”

Take a look at the image below, and be sure to let us know if you’re looking forward to Ghostbusters! The film hits theatres on July 15th!

Briefly: It’s about time.

Matt detailed Nintendo’s rough launch plans for Miitomo back in February, and today the big N finally revealed that anticipating gamers in Canada and North America will be able to join Miitomo as of March 31st!

Nintendo notes that the app had an incredibly successful launch in Japan, boasting that the title was downloaded over “1 million times in its first three days of availability, while achieving the #1 most downloaded free app status in both the App Store and Google Play storefronts.”

Now it’s our turn. The company states that you can actually pre-register for Miitomo right now, right here, and that doing so, you’ll “receive an email when the app is ready to download. People that create their Nintendo Account and preregister before March 31 will also receive Platinum Points for the new My Nintendo rewards program, which will simultaneously launch with Miitomo. Aiming to be much more than a standard rewards program, My Nintendo is a comprehensive service that rewards users for interacting with Nintendo products and services in a variety of ways. Miitomo users who link the app to their Nintendo Account will be able to take advantage of My Nintendo to enhance their experience. Platinum Points can be earned by interacting with Nintendo apps and services, including Miitomo. Gold Points are earned when purchasing digital versions of games from Nintendo.com or Nintendo eShop on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Both Platinum and Gold Points can be redeemed for rewards like games, download content, in-app items and eShop discount coupons.”

It sounds pretty danged easy to get starting with Miitomo: “After downloading the application for free on the App Store for iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, along with Android devices, users create a Mii character and customize facial features like eyes and hair, as well as voice and personality. Users can also use the camera on their smart devices to snap a photo of themselves, which can be used to create a Mii, or they can simply import their Mii from theirWii U or Nintendo 3DS systems using a QR Code.

Once their Mii is ready, users can add friends who already have the app in person, or by linking the app with their existing Facebook or Twitter accounts. After that step is complete, it’s time to answer some questions! Miitomo creates conversations and turns discussions into a form of play by prompting users to answer all kinds of fun questions. How would you define your fashion style? What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten? If you were given 10 grand to spend in one day, what would you do? The answers get shared among friends, sparking interesting conversations – part of the fun is discovering unexpected facts about your friends. When users hear how their friends responded to questions, they can give answers a “heart” or a written or picture comment.”

The application looks weird as hell, but as a gamer who doesn’t spend a lot of time at home, I’m beyond excited to try out this unique experience on my iPhone. What are you excited to do in Miitomo? Be sure to sound out in the comments below!

Briefly: Negan is coming.

And AMC has just given us our first kind of look at the incredibly anticipated character before his debut on this Sunday’s season finale of The Walking Dead.

Yep, he’s holding Lucille, and shit is about to get crazy.

still haven’t caught up on this season of The Walking Dead (I’m about six episodes behind at this point), but as an avid reader of Robert Kirkman’s comic book, I need to make time to get reacquainted with the series this week.

Take a look at the Negan teaser image below, and be sure to let us know what you think!

Briefly: Oh man.

Will Arnett’s Batman was certainly a standout character in 2014’s The Lego Movie, and Warner Bros. has just debuted a new trailer for 2017’s The Lego Batman Movie, which looks absolutely freaking hilarious.

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

The trailer makes fun of Batman a lot over the course of its 2-minute runtime, and I really, really can’t wait to see more of this one.

Take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you think. The Lego Batman Movie hits theatres in 2017!

Briefly: Following the series’ first trailer back in November, AMC has just debuted the first image of Eugene or… Arseface in its anticipated adaptation, Preacher.

You can take a look at the image below, and be sure to let us know what you think! This version of Areseface looks much cleaner than what I remember from the comic book series, though I’m sure that AMC simply had to tone things down in order to even have the character on television.

Preacher premieres on May 22nd! What do you hope to see in the full series?

Briefly: After debuting the series’ official logo just last month, Netflix and Dreamworks have officially debuted the first trailer for the upcoming Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Formed by five robotic lions, the mighty warrior known as Voltron returns after 10,000 years to protect the universe from evil. This time around, Voltron is “the last line of defense for Arus and other planets against an evil alien force led by King Zarkon.”

I’ve never been a huge Voltron guy (not because it never interested me, I simply never got around to it), but I’ll gladly watch anything with the Netflix stamp of approval on it, so I’m definitely looking forward to this experience.

Take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Voltron: Legendary Defender hits Netflix on June 10th!

Briefly: If you’re a regular around these parts, you’ll know that we’re huge fans of Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game series.

Last month, the first episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne was released, and as much as I’ve loved what I’ve played of the title so far, I really, really just want to see what happens to Clementine, and I’m sure that I’m not alone in that sentiment.

Mashable today reported that Telltale should officially reveal the third season of the game right around SDCC, and that the first episode will be released before the year’s end.

Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner spoke of the upcoming season, noting that “From a role-playing, interactive storytelling point of view, it is not from the bag of tricks that we’ve ever shown anybody before. The way that we’re dealing with and validating and retaining all those different playthroughs is really cool and unexpected and, I think, pretty innovative from the storytelling point of view.”

Yep, we cannot freaking wait.

Are you looking forward to the third season of The Walking Dead? What did you think of the first episode of Michonne? Be sure to sound out in the comments below!

Graphics and animations have both vastly improved from the game's first season.

Briefly: Following the first trailer for Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book from back in January, Disney has just released a series of incredible promotional images for the film, which show off the stunning characters alongside their respective voice actors.

Directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat.

Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire.

The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela. “The Jungle Book” seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world.

Briefly: Following last month’s final trailer for the anticipated film, Warner Bros. has just debuted another, extended TV spot for this week’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The spot features (somehow) more new footage, and really drives home the fact that these two want to (but won’t) tear each other apart.

In the film, “fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.  And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”

Briefly: For some reason, we (I) were (was) pretty damned excited back in January when we learned that The CW had officially ordered a pilot titled Riverdale, a series based on classic comic character Archie and his pals, which will take place in the present-day and offer “a surprising and subversive take” on the characters and situations.

Today, the official Archie twitter account gave us our first look at KJ Apa’s Archie in the anticipated season, via a photo taken during one of the Vancouver production’s lunch breaks.

You can take a look at the photo below, and be sure to let us know what you think of this new-age take on Archie in the comments below!

Briefly: The idea of virtual reality comic books has never even crossed my mind, but it sounds like an incredible idea.

Wondercon attendees will be among the lucky first to experience “one of the first —if not THE first—Virtual Reality comic book experiences” with Moriarty: Endgame.

The Image Comics book, written by Daniel Corey with cover and art by Anthony Diecidue and letters by Dave Lanphear, was first released digitally in February 2015, and “imagined a possible future that saw the Professor battling Sherlock Holmes across a tech-laden, post- apocalyptic landscape.”

It’s an absolutely insane idea, and one that I’m beyond excited to experience myself. I’ve been a big fan of nearly every VR experience that I’ve been able to take part in thus far, and the opportunity to add another level of depth an immersion to one of my favourite forms of media (comic books, duh), is beyond exciting.

The Moriarty: Endgame VR experience has been built by Sydney-based Transmedia Entertainment, who will also be showing off their new Drop In VR technology at the convention. Transmedia Managing Director Joseph Narai notes that “We are thrilled to be working with Daniel to create this demonstration of what Drop In VR can do for storytelling in general, and comic books in particular. This first demo is just a simple example of what we can do with the Drop In VR Platform, and we are looking forward to exploring the possibilities of this new storytelling medium.”
