Briefly: Following the insanely cool trailer from just a couple of weeks back, Fox today debuted four gorgeous new character posters for next month’s X-Men: Apocalypse, each image depicting one of Apocalypse’ four horsemen.

In the film, “Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

Take a look at the new X-Men: Apocalypse posters below (via the film’s official Twitter account), and let us know what you think! The film hits theatres on May 27th!

En Sabah Nur.

En Sabah Nur.

En Sabah Nur.

Praise be unto En Sabah Nur!!!

The one true GOD, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), has come to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. He will unleash upon us his four horsemen, Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Archangel (Ben Hardy) and the disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender).

As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young inexperienced X-Men. These fools are nothing but whinny valley kids, Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan); a mall rat, Jubilee (Lana Condor); and a circus freak, Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee). They do have a bad ass speedster though, i mean have you see this guy in action? DAMNNN QUICKSILVER (Evan Peters). These losers will try and stop the one true God in a feeble attempt to save mankind from complete and utter destruction that it deserves.

Witness the destruction of the weak humans in theaters May 27, 2016

Briefly: This is a damned cool spot. As much as I loved seeing Krang for the first time in the just-released new teaser for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows, the total destruction witnessed in this new spot for X-Men: Apocalypse might be the coolest Super Bowl trailer thus far (well, unless you count Ant-Man and Hulk fighting over a Coke as a Super Bowl trailer).

Briefly: The very first trailer for X-Men Apocalypse launched earlier today, and probably stopped the Apocalypse / Ivan Ooze comparisons for good.

Seriously, the character looks astonishingly powerful, and with Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) on his side (among others) it’s going to be an impossibly tough battle for McAvoy’s Xavier and company.

If that bad-ass trailer wasn’t enough, Fox has just debuted a stunning new poster for the film, which features an angry Apocalypse crushing… what else but a human skull.

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse

The ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ trailer is upon here, all praise Apocalypse!! Oscar Isaac will portray En Sabah Nur (better known as Apocalypse), is a centuries-old mutant who was worshipped in Ancient Egypt as a God. After awakening in the 1980s, he is dissatisfied with the state of the mutant’s on the planet, and goes on to recruit Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) to be a part of his Four Horsemen to help him cleanse the world.

I’ve always been a great fan of the X-Men Franchise, so i’m definitely excited to catch the latest installment. I think my favorite thing about the X-Men franchise is that instead of rebooting the series it decided to keep the history and continuity of the earlier films. Which probably had more to do with keeping Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. And to rectify the not so popular ‘Last Stand’, and the status of the staple X-men characters it went back and time and retconned it. GOTTA LOVE COMICS!!

Briefly: The official synopsis for X-Men: Apocalypse has finally been revealed.

By M&M’s.

Yep. The candy revealed a partnership with 20th Century Fox today, which officially began with the debut of this synopsis, and a ‘cute’ photo of M&M’s dressed like Storm and Magneto.

In any case, here are the goods:

In any case, what do you think of the synopsis? Do you like what we’ve seen of Apocalypse thus far? Or are you still trying to get passed the Ivan Ooze comparisons?

This weeks Entertainment Weekly is featuring X-Men: Apocalypse. On the cover we have Psylocke, Magneto, and Apocalypse and set photos of some of the cast.

We also get a  first look at new comers Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Punk Rock Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan). The returning mutants are Magneto with a new look (Michael Fassbender), Professor X (James McAvoy), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), and Quicksilver (Evan Peters) who also is sporting an official outfit. No pics of Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) though, he was probably the only thing I enjoyed about X2.

While we haven’t seen everyone in official  outfits, Storm and Psylocke seem to stick close to the the 80’s sexy outfits. I have already seen some grumblings regarding the look of Apocalypse. In one of the photos he is resembling Ivan Ooze from the Power Rangers Movie. At this point It’s really hard to judge the costumes until we see it on the big screen and in action so I’ll reserve judgement.

Apocalypse

Quicksilver

Prof X

Storm

Magneto

Director Bryan Singer continues to tease fans via Twitter and has just revealed the first look at the new design for Nicholas Hoult’s Beast in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Some fans weren’t too fond of the cat like appearance of the character in First Class and it seems that they’ve now given the character a design a lot closer to his classic comic appearance.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
is set to hit theaters July 18, 2014

Attempting to circumvent fans of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award winner, The Wackness, director Jonathan Levine’s first real burst onto the scene came in the form of his 2011 hit 50/50. The indie drama resonated with audiences all across the country and impressed me enough to land in the #1 spot on my Top Ten Films of 2011. Levine returns nearly a year and a half later with the zombie comedy Warm Bodies. Boasting a main cast far less impressive than his previous hit, Levine and his employer Summit Pictures hope to gain a stranglehold on the teenybopper Valentine’s Day market.

Warm Bodies follows R (played by Nicholas Hoult), a free thinking zombie who ends up falling in love with the girlfriend of one of his victims. However, the more time that R spends with Julie (played by Teresa Palmer), the more he begins to feel human again. This shocking revelation sets these unlikeliest of lovers on a journey to save the world.

warm 1

At it’s heart, director Jonathan Levine’s Warm Bodies puts a clever spin on the prototypical love story. Although much like its contemporary counterpart the Twilight franchise, plots holes galore and unpredictable behavior consequently deteriorates an otherwise fun-filled affair. For example, Julie’s character constantly begs R to let her return to her new zombie-free barricaded hometown. Yet, when given the opportunity to do exactly as she wishes, instead Julie ultimately drives a car back to her old neighborhood for no apparent reason. Warm Bodies clearly loses its focus and attention to detail, creating a frustrating piece of filmmaking that aspires to get by on charm and heart alone. However, Teresa Palmer feels too much like a spitting image of the often unimpressive Kristen Stewart, and the result is an emotion-less “other half” to this charismatic love story.

warm 2

For as unpredictable and nonsensical as its characters are, Warm Bodies follows a rather generic and predetermined path to resolution. Unfolding exactly as you would imagine, there’s nothing outside of a few creative components to the effects of eating brains to help keep the viewer’s interest level elevated. All in all, it’s a simple story filled with generic performances. Other than being an assured Valentine’s Day box office success, Warm Bodies is clearly an average movie that never really wavers above or below the level of mediocrity.

As a HUGE fan of Levine’s previous work 50/50, my hopes were pretty high for his latest effort, Warm Bodies. Instead, Levine delivers a to-be-expected final product that’s superficial and often fun, but completely lacking in long term appeal. If you’re looking for a solid date movie during the Valentine’s Day holiday, then Warm Bodies is a decent choice. Otherwise, there’s no loss in waiting for DVD and catching this film sometime down the line.

Grade: 2.5/5

Jonthan Levine’s (50/50, The Wackness) Warm Bodies has been pretty high on my radar since the first time I saw the trailer back in November. We’re now less than a month away from its theatrical debut, and subsequent previews (here and here) and stylish posters have only turned my excitement concrete.

Today, Summit Entertainment released over 25 new images from the film. The mixture of stills and behind the scenes gives us a great look into what is bound to be one of the more original romantic comedies of 2013.

Summit Entertainment has just given us a late Christmas present: the first four minutes of upcoming ZomRomDramCom (Zombie Romantic Drama Comedy) Warm Bodies.

The film hits theatres on February 1st, and if this clip is any indication, it’ll be well worth the price of admission!

Check it out below, and let us know what you think!

A tormented zombie (Nicholas Hoult) experiences a profound transformation after entering into an unusual relationship with the daughter (Teresa Palmer) of a military leader charged with eradicating the walking dead. As the unlikely pair build a tenuous bridge between the living and the dead, those on both sides of the battle begin to sense that nothing in their world will ever be the same again. Warm Bodies is based on the novel by Isaac Marion.

I can’t wait for Warm Bodies. Summit Entertainment’s zombie rom-com looks to breathe some new life into the tired supernatural romance genre. The movie looks like a great time, and I know I’ll be getting in line when it releases on February 1st.

Summit has just released five stylish new one-sheets for the film, and they look just as good as all of the marketing we’ve seen so far!

Are you looking forward to the movie? What do you think of these new posters? Never heard of Warm Bodies? Check out the already released trailers here and here!

A funny new twist on a classic love story, WARM BODIES is a poignant tale about the power of human connection. After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human – setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.

Check out a new trailer for the romantic zombie comedy Warm Bodies from director Jonathon Levine (50/50). The film stars Nicholas Hoult as a zombie named “R” who starts to act more human than zombie when he falls in love with Julie (Teresa Palmer). The first trailer focused more on the romantic aspect of the film, while this one seems to focus a little more on the action.

A genre-bending tale of love and transformation, WARM BODIES is a story about a boy who loves a girl…for more than just her body.

Warm Bodies hits theaters February 1st, 2013.
