This is a damn cool preview.

We’re barely two months away from the theatrical release of James Mangold’s The Wolverine, and Fox has just released a new trailer for the film. The video features plenty of new footage, and if you’re not sold on the movie yet, this trailer may just turn you around.

The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th, and stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, and plenty more! Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality.

Warner Bros. has just released the first TV spot for Guillermo Del Toro’s highly anticipated Pacific Rim. Clocking in at just over 30 seconds, the spot manages to squeeze in a bunch of new footage AND excite the hell out of me. The movie looks fantastic, and coming from Del Toro, I’m sure we won’t be disappointed.

Check out the spot below, and let us know how excited you are!

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Just when you thought we couldn’t possibly see another poster for Man of Steel, Warner Bros. releases one more! The image puts the spotlight on Russel Crowe’s Jor-El, and is actually the first character poster for the film. I’d expect to see more of these images before Man of Steel‘s release on June 14th.

Take a look at the image below, and let us know what you think of Jor-El’s new look!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

UPDATE: Well that didn’t take long. Warner Bros. has revealed two more character posters. One image features Supes himself, while the other instead focuses on Zod. Take a look below!

Bryan Singer is on a roll. Just yesterday he gave us our first look at Peter Dinklage preparing for work on X-Men: Days of Future Past, and today it’s Jennifer Lawrence’s turn. The director has tweeted an image of Lawrence in full Mystique costume, and as always, she’s looking pretty bad-ass. The image is titled “First look: #JenniferLawrence as a vengeful #Mystique”, so it’s probably safe to speculate that she’s pretty unhappy about what happened with Xavier. I guess we’ll find out next Summer.

Take a look at the photo below, and let us know what you think! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on July 17th, 2014!

We all knew that a new Star Wars animated series was in the works, and it just got an official title.

Star Wars Rebels is currently in the works and will premiere in Fall 2014. The show will begin as a one-hour special, and be followed by a weekly series. Set in the nearly two-decade period between the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the series will focus on the founding of the Rebel Alliance.

LucasFilm has released a behind-the-scenes video title Star Wars Rebels: The Rebellion Begins, which has Pablo Hidalgo speaking with executive producer David Filoni about the anticipated new series. Take a look below, and let us know if this makes up for the cancellation of The Clone Wars! It doesn’t, does it? But Star Wars Rebels does sound cool!

Here’s the full press release for those who want to know more:

Production has begun on Star Wars Rebels, an exciting, all-new animated television series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time. Scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

Leading the development of the series is a creative team of exceptional talent. Screenwriter/producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Sherlock Holmes, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) is an executive producer on Star Wars Rebels and will write the premiere episode. He is joined by Dave Filoni as executive producer, who served as supervising director of the Emmy nominated Star Wars: The Clone Wars since 2008. Executive producer Greg Weisman brings with him a wealth of animation experience with credits such as Young Justice, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Gargoyles.

Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, said, “The entire team at Lucasfilm has provided extraordinary creativity and innovation for over three decades, and we’re thrilled to be bringing the expansive and imaginative world of Star Wars to Disney XD’s viewers.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to explore new corners of the Star Wars universe,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president, Lucasfilm. “I think Star Wars Rebels will capture the look, feel and fun that both kids and their parents love about Star Wars.”

The action-filled series is set between the events of Episode III and IV — an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Details about the show are a closely guarded secret at this point.

Star Wars Rebels will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, featuring many of the key talents that made Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fans attending Star Wars Celebration Europe will be the first to get an exclusive look at the new series. Casting will be announced at a later date.

We were all rather confused back in February when Sony announced the Playstation 4… without showing anyone the Playstation 4.

It looks like the company is almost ready to unveil their latest black box; a new teaser video has been released, featuring a very blurry look at what appears to be the console, before simply showing the date of June 10th, 2013 at 6PM. This of course, is the date and time of Sony’s E3 press conference.

So on June 10th, we’ll finally know what the PS4 looks like. Hopefully they’ll also talk release date and price, as I’m itching to buy another console that I don’t have time to play. Take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think!

Remember that terrible rumour from April stating that series regular Kevin Conroy wouldn’t be returning to voice Batman in Batman: Arkham Origins, and that Warner Bros. Interactive was instead looking for younger talent for this Arkham prequel?

Well… it wasn’t true.

During this weekend’s Dallas Comic Con, Conroy confirmed his involvement in the new title, and the fact that he’s been working on it for more than nine months. Conroy certainly sounds excited for the project, as outlined in the conference video below (the Arkham Origins talk opens the Q&A, though the whole presentation is worth the watch)!

We know that a lot of you were extremely disappointed when the rumour began to make its rounds. Are you feeling better about the game now that you know of Conroy’s involvement?

Batman: Arkham Origins releases on October 25th!

Update: Things are getting a little confusing here. Despite Conroy confirming his involvement in the game, Warner Bros. Interactive today announced that Roger Craig Smith (Ezio in Assassin’s Creed, Chris Redfield in Resident Evil) will portray Batman in Arkham Origins. It was also revealed that Troy Baker (Booker DeWitt in the amazing Bioshock Infinite) will voice the Joker.

Now, what does this mean? Could Batman: Arkham Origins have us jumping through time and playing as both an older and younger Batman? Could Conroy be playing a different character entirely? Maybe Conroy was confused, and actually talking about Rocksteady’s upcoming, unannounced title?

Let us know what you think of the new casting, and watch a new trailer for the game below!

Back in February it was revealed that Peter Dinklage had joined the cast of Bryan Singer’s anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past. Early rumours and speculation led many to believe that Dinklage would portray Puck, but it was quickly announced that he would be playing the film’s main antagonist.

Bryan Singer today tweeted an image of himself and Dinklage with the caption “Reviewing tomorrow’s work on the flight back to Montreal with #PeterDinklage”. Dinklage isn’t in costume, but it’s easy to see that he’ll be sporting quite the ‘stache. Take a look at the image below, and let us know who you think he’s playing!

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on July 17th, 2014.

After the cliffhanger ending to Saturday’s Doctor Who season (or series… whatever) finale, I can’t even begin to imagine the fan uproar had BBC decided not to continue the show. It’s a good thing then, that BBC today confirmed a continuation into 2014, and even more new content before the end of this year.

No information has been released about the next season, but I’d expect most of the lead cast to be returning. As for 2013, on November 23rd a new 3D special will air, starring Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman, David Tennant, and John Hurt , celebrating the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who (that is a ridiculous amount of time). A Christmas special has also been announced, but no further information has been revealed.

Lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat will of course be returning for next year’s Doctor Who offering. What do you hope to see during the season? What did you think of Saturday’s finale?

It’s easy to see that Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us has some amazing visuals, but we had no idea just how incredible the game would sound. A new trailer for the game has been released featuring composer Gustavo Santaolalla, and spotlighting some of the beautiful audio we’ll be hearing throughout our The Last of Us journey.

The Last of Us releases on June 14th, and is bound to be one of the best games of 2013. Pre-order customers will get full access to the digital soundtrack, so if you like what you hear in the trailer below, get on it! I’m beyond excited to jump into this world, how about you?

The Summer movie season has officially kicked off: Iron Man 3 was okay, Star Trek Into Darkness was incredible, and Man of Steel is now less than a month away.

Wal Mart has released a new featurette for Supes return to the big screen, featuring plenty of cast and crew interviews to get you excited for the film’s release. Two awesome new banners for the film have also been unveiled, showing Kal El and Zod angrily and epically flying towards each other.

Take a look at all the new marketing below, and let us know how much you’re looking forward to Man of Steel!

Last July we learned that Michael Fassbender will play Desmond Miles in the film adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, back in January it was revealed that Michael Lesslie would write the screenplay for the movie, and today, the release date for the picture was finally announced.

Unfortunately, the film is still over two years away. The film adaptation of Assassin’s Creed will hit theatres on May 22, 2015. No other information about the feature has been revealed at this time, and the film is still without a director, but I’d expect that to change very soon.

Video game movies are typically (or is it always) awful. Could Assassin’s Creed be any different?

First announced back in February, the highly anticipated (at least by me) rerelease of both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages is less than two weeks away! Both titles will launch on the 3DS eShop on May 30th (as we learned back in April), and during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo revealed a special deal for early adopters.

The regular price of each title is $5.99, but from May 30th to June 20th, each game will cost you a cool $4.99. Watch the trailer for the rerelease below, and let us know if you’ll be picking these up!

First announced back in February, today’s Nintendo Direct presentation revealed just when we’ll be able to get our hands on Super Luigi U, the new Luigi-centric campaign for New Super Mario Bros. U.

The campaign will be released in both digital and physical formats, with digital dropping on June 20th for $19.99, and the physical edition hitting stores on August 25th for $29.99. The downloadable version of course requires the original game to function, while the retail copy will work all on its own.

I’m incredibly excited for the new campaign. As far as I know, it’s the biggest piece of DLC that Nintendo has ever released, literally changing everything about the game. I can’t wait to give Luigi his turn in the spotlight! Let us know how excited you are, and check out the other highlights from today’s presentation here!

Little is known about the project, but today’s Nintendo Direct presentation revealed a very cool Sonic tidbit, and an exclusive partnership between the once rival companies.

The next game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series will release exclusively on Nintendo consoles. Sonic: Lost World is the name of the game, and aside from a single image it was simply announced that we’d learn more about the game at this year’s E3.

The partnership between the companies is very exciting, and should certainly help Nintendo drive some sales on their currently struggling console.

Take a look at the first image from Sonic: Lost World below, and let us know what you think! Head here for more highlights from today’s Nintendo Direct.

It may not be as red-band as yesterday’s V/H/S/2 trailer, but the new preview for The Hangover Part III is certainly NSFW.

The latest trailer first takes us through the wolfpack’s humble beginnings and its darkest hours, before showing us just what’s in store for them next. Everything looks like pretty standard Hangover fare, so you likely already know whether or not you’ll enjoy this one.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Hangover Part III hits theatres on May 24th!

The Hangover Part III” is the third and final film in director Todd Phillips’ record-shattering comedy franchise. This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

Back in January it was announced that a sequel to the 2000 hit Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was scheduled to begin production in May. At the time, the project had no attached stars, a title, or even a director (though Ronny Yu was rumoured).

Today, the sequel’s official title has been revealed, as has its director. Yuen Wo Ping will helm Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon II: The Green Destiny. Wo Ping has directed over 20 Chinese films, and has also been very prominent in Hollywood, choreographing fights for more than a dozen action films, including The Matrix and Kill Bill.

It looks like we won’t be seeing this sequel as soon as we’d hoped, however. While originally announced to shoot this May, The Green Destiny will now begin production in March 2014. Michelle Yeoh is set to reprise her role from the first film, while Donnie Yen will star as Silent Wolf.

still haven’t seen the first film, so I’m not sure how fans will feel about the news. Are you looking forward to the sequel? Sound out below!

We’re barely a month away from the premiere of Under the Dome, and CBS has just released the series’ first full-length trailer. The new preview introduces us to the town of Chester’s Mill and its inhabitants, and certainly alludes at the town having some deep, dark secrets.

I’m excited for Under the Dome. I’m into anything with Brian K. Vaughan’s name on it (you’re reading Saga, right?), and this project is no different. Watch the new trailer below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to it. Under the Dome premieres on June 24th!

Warner Bros. has just released a new full-length trailer for the wildly anticipated Pacific Rim. The preview is full of new footage, and looks absolutely insane.

You know how much we’re looking forward to the film here at Geekscape. Every image, every preview, and every piece of viral marketing has been awesome. With a director like Guillermo Del Toro in charge of this one, Pacific Rim is bound to be one of the most intense experiences of the year.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know just how excited you are!

I have to say that I’m not really looking forward to World War Z. Each trailer for the film has felt uninspired, and it looks as though the production team has turned what was an excellent, intelligent novel into some generic action garbage. It also doesn’t help that the zombies essentially look like they were pulled from the awful film adaptation of I Am Legend, only somehow they look even worse.

If you are looking forward to the movie, a World War Z iOS game is also on its way. Set to hit the App Store on May 30th, the game adaptation looks pretty awful itself, but with Phosphor Entertainment developing, maybe things will turn out alright. Little information is available on the title at this time, but World War Z is set to featured 28 levels of combat, and a fully upgradable arsenal of weapons and armor.

Watch the trailer for the game below, and let us know if you’ll be picking it up!

Warning: In case you missed the “Red-Band” in the title, the trailer below is very NSFW. If you’re squeamish or are simply not fond of grotesque imagery, stay far away from this one.

With just a few weeks to go until V/H/S/2 hits VOD, Magnet has released the first red-band trailer for the film. It’s very red-band, and is filled with disturbing clips from each short featured in the anthology. If you were a fan of the first movie, V/H/S/2 looks to have stepped up its game in almost every way.

V/H/S/2 hits VOD on June 6th, theatres on July 12th, and features segments by Jason Eisner (Hobo With a Shotgun), Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale (The Blair Witch Project), Gareth Evans (The Raid), Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre), and Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett (A Horrible Way to Die). Watch the red-band trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Inside a darkened house looms a column of TVs littered with VHS tapes, a pagan shrine to forgotten analog gods. The screens crackle and pop endlessly with monochrome vistas of static—white noise permeating the brain and fogging concentration. But you must fight the urge to relax: this is no mere movie night. Those obsolete spools contain more than just magnetic tape. They are imprinted with the very soul of evil.

From the demented minds that brought you last year’s V/H/S comes V/H/S/2, an all-new anthology of dread, madness, and gore. This follow-up ventures even further down the demented path blazed by its predecessor, discovering new and terrifying territory in the genre. This is modern horror at its most inventive, shrewdly subverting our expectations about viral videos in ways that are just as satisfying as they are sadistic. The result is the rarest of all tapes—a second generation with no loss of quality.

With talent like this, I wonder just how quickly Blood Kiss is going to hit its goal.

Emmy Award winning writer Michael Reeves has developed an ambitious new film project, but he (and everyone else involved) needs your help if the feature is ever going to see the light of day. The project is called Blood Kiss, a ‘Vamp Noir” film (an entirely new genre) that revolves around detective Joe Belicek, who must solve the murder of a vampire before a deranged killer murders them all.

Inspired by Film Noir, Blood Kiss is set in 1940’s Hollywood, and already has some fantastic names attached to it. Blood Kiss will feature the acting debut of the incredible Neil Gaiman, who had some fantastic words to say about the film’s script:

“Michael sent me the script. I told him, “it’s a terrific script.” and he said, “I want you to act in it.” I replied “There’s nobody else I would act for.”

Blood Kiss will also star writer/director/actor Amber Benson, who is no stranger to vampire media after spending three years as Tara Maclay on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Some of the cool rewards up for grabs!
Some of the cool rewards up for grabs!

It’s easy to see that Blood Kiss is going to be phenomenal, so let’s help the project get made! The Blood Kiss Kickstarter launched earlier today, and in just a few hours has raked in over $7000. There are some some amazing rewards up for grabs for anyone that contributes to the film, including digital downloads, posters, Blu Rays, premiere tickets, and much, much, more. If Blood Kiss sounds like your cup of tea, head to Kickstarter and pledge, pledge, pledge!

Watch the project’s Kickstarter video below, and don’t forget to check out Blood Kiss on Twitter and Facebook! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this one as the campaign continues, and as we learn more about it!

Just days after teaching us all about pirates, Ubisoft has released a flashy new gameplay trailer for the next flagship title in the Assassin’s Creed series.

The newest preview, titled ‘Under the Black Flag’ better acquaints us with the game’s new main man (Edward Kenway), and of course showcases a plethora of elegant, brutal assassinations.

Are you excited to sail the high seas in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag? How about stepping into the shoes of a new Kenway? Watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think! Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag hits stores on October 26th!

Finally.

We’ve seen plenty of images and even a brief teaser for the film, but today, just four months before the Riddick‘s release, a full length trailer has been revealed.

The 2.5 minute preview does plenty to build anticipation for the film; the effects look great, the atmosphere looks beautiful and I can’t wait to see more.

Watch the trailer below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the film. Riddick hits theatres on September 16th!

Prepare for the latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000’s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered.

The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

Traveller’s Tales is doing a great job at keeping this one under wraps.

The developer has just released a new teaser for the upcoming Lego Marvel Super Heroes. The preview is short but sweet, showing off just a few of the heroes you’ll be able to play in the game. Very little footage from the actual game has been released, so while we know how well Lego Marvel Super Heroes will play (based on all of the other awesome Lego video games), I’m beginning to wonder if there’s something new and exciting in store for us.

Watch the new teaser below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the game. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is set to hit consoles later this year!

Last week, Bethesda announced a new chapter in the acclaimed Wolfenstein franchise. Just like the game’s first trailer, a batch of newly released screenshots reveal little about the project, but they at least show us how damn pretty it looks.

Wolfenstein: The New Order definitely looks next-gen! Take a look at the images below, and let us know what you think! The game will hit retail this holiday season.

Interested in learning more about Man of Steel? Norton (yes… antivirus Norton) has just released three new featurettes for the film. Flight, Strength, and Speed delve into different facets of the character and the movie, and each features a cast member discussing just what the specific power means.

Take a look at the videos below, and let us know what you think! Man of Steel hits theatres on June 14th!

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was just ordered to series last week, and ABC is not wasting any time buiding anticipation for it.

First, we saw a neat first teaser during Sunday’s Once Upon A Time season finale. Shortly afterwards, a mysterious viral marketing site popped up online. Now, it’s time for more footage. The newest teaser clocks in at just seven seconds (I’m guessing we’re going to see a lot of these…), and is titled ‘Welcome to Level 7’. Take a look below, and let us know what you think!

The network has also released their Fall schedule, and while no premiere date or episode count has been revealed, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will air on Tuesday nights at 8pm. With just months to go until we finally get to see the show, how freaking excited are you?

UPDATE: Just seconds after this article was published, ABC released the full trailer for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The preview clocks in at just under 3 minutes, and it looks amazing. Watch it below!

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

While I didn’t love (or even really like) The Hunger Games, its sequel is really beginning to look like one to watch out for. The first trailer for the film premiered back in April, and despite watching it with much skepticism, I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed.

Lionsgate has just revealed a new poster for the film, and it really helps solidify the fact that Katniss is a bad ass. Take a look at the image below, and let us know what you think! The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theatres on November 22nd! Those of you that have read the books, are you looking forward to the second film?

CatchingFireNew

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

The 70’s sure look neat.

X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer today revealed a new set photo from the film, this time showing off Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Beast‘s (Nicolas Hoult) clothing from 1973. Little else is revealed in the image, but in any case, these guys look bad ass.

Take a look at the image below, and let us know if you’re excited for the film! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on July 18th, 2014.
