Boom! Studios has announced a new RoboCop series that will launch this August!

Frank Miller and Steven Grant will write the series, while Korkut Öztekin, and Declan Shalvey will provide the artwork.

No further information has been revealed about the book, titled RoboCop: Last Stand, but we’ll definitely keep you updated on this one! It’s been some time since we’ve seen anything from Miller, and he of course has his own history with the RoboCop series: Miller wrote a draft for RoboCop 2 that was never produced (though was later adapted into a comic), and was also credited with cowriting RoboCop 3.

What do you think of this news? Will you pick up Last Stand?

Troma fans, what are your thoughts on this?

Unlike the newly announced Gremlins reboot, we’ve known that a Toxic Avenger remake has been in the works since 2010. Hot Tub Time Machine writer/director Steve Pink is set to script and helm the feature, and we just got word of the film’s first piece of casting news!

Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently in negotiations to play a lead role in the reboot. He would portray ‘The Exterminator’, a former black ops agent who teaches Toxie to use his powers for good. Nothing is finalized at this point, but based on the already-released press release (read it below), it looks as though this one is all but a done deal.

The Toxic Avenger is set to start production this Fall. Read the full press release below, and let us know who you’d like to see in the main role!

Los Angeles, CA (May, 2013) –Action superstarArnold Schwarzenegger (TERMINATOR series, TOTAL RECALL) is in negotiations to star in writer/director Steve Pink’s (HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 1 & 2) big budget action comedy THE TOXIC AVENGER produced by Akiva Goldsman (CONSTANTINE, I AM LEGEND, MR AND MRS SMITH), Richard Saperstein (HANCOCK, 1408, SE7EN), Charlie Corwin (HALF NELSON, THE SQUID AND THE WHALE), Stephen Kessler and Michael Benaroya (LAWLESS, MARGIN CALL). Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz will executive produce. The announcement was made today by International Film Trust’s (IFT) President Ariel Veneziano who will handle all international rights to the film alongside IFT’s Head of Sales Christian de Gallegos.

Set to be introduced to buyers at Cannes 2013, THE TOXIC AVENGER is currently in pre-production and scheduled to start principal photography this fall.

Loosely based on Lloyd Kaufman’s classic Troma franchise, THE TOXIC AVENGER is the tale of a high-school kid who gets dunked in a vat of toxic waste by a corrupt chemical company. He survives the ordeal with one major side effect: upon contact with toxic chemicals, he transforms into a monster with superhuman strength. Schwarzenegger would play “the Exterminator,” a former black ops agent, who trains Toxie to use his powers for good. Together they take on the lurking menace created by the polluters, and the polluters themselves.

“Moviegoers around the world were thrilled when Arnold Schwarzenegger returned to acting so effortlessly filling the gap that he left behind,” said producer and IFT co-founder Michael Benaroya. “He is the ultimate action hero with a natural comedic versatility and will be pitch perfect in The Toxic Avenger.”

“Our film is a perfect combination of commercial genre, star power and award winning filmmakers to set it apart from other titles on offer at Cannes this year. The Toxic Avenger is a blockbuster in waiting with franchise potential. The buyers will love it,” said IFT President Ariel Veneziano.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s role in James Cameron’s THE TERMINATOR series solidified his place as one of the leading action hero actors with roles in blockbuster hits including PREDATOR, TOTAL RECALL, TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY and TRUE LIES. Proving to be a multi-talented performer, Schwarzenegger crossed over into comedic roles with box office hits TWINS opposite Danny DeVito and Ivan Reitman’s KINDERGARTEN COP. After taking an extended break to become the Governor of California, Schwarzenegger returned to acting in 2012 with THE EXPENDABLES 2, which grossed over $300 million worldwide. He will next be seen in Summit Entertainment’s ESCAPE PLAN and Open Road Films’ TEN. He is represented by CAA and Patrick Knapp at Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal LaViolette Felmdman Schenkman & Goodman.

Summit Entertainment has just released a neat new poster for Red 2. It’s pretty similar to the first one-sheet for the film (though from another angle and without the silhouette effect), but it gives us a good look at the main cast who certainly look like they’re ready for another mission.

I still haven’t watched the first film, but Red 2 looks like an extremely fun ride (watch the latest trailer here), so I’ll definitely be checking it out before the sequel hits theatres on July 19th. Take a look at the new poster below, and let us know what you think!

In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.

Assassin’s Creed IV is just months away at this point, so it’s about damn time that we got a new trailer.

The new preview takes us deeper into the history of the game, and helps to explain just why Edward Kenway is doing what he’s doing. The video features very little gameplay footage, so if that’s what you’re looking for, you’re better off checking out the previously released trailer.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag hits PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 26th. Watch the new preview below, and let us know what you think!

After what seems like years (and years) of rumours, Fox has just announced that 24 is headed back to television.

24: Live Another Day will premiere on the network in Summer 2014, and series star Kiefer Sutherland will again be stepping into the shoes of Jack Bauer. 24 showrunner Howard Gordon is also set to return.

Sutherland sounds beyond excited to return to the role, stating that “The response to ‘24’ is unlike anything I have ever experienced as an actor before. To have the chance to reunite with the character, Jack Bauer, is like finding a lost friend. The story ideas from Howard Gordon are exciting and fresh, and will not disappoint. Great thanks to 20th Century Fox Television, Imagine Television and the FOX network for this opportunity. Make no mistake, my goal is to knock your socks off. See you soon.”

Are you excited? I never watched 24, but have heard nothing but good things about it (at least in its earlier seasons). Is it time to bite the bullet and give it a viewing?

PRESS RELEASE: FOX has ordered 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY, a thrilling new tent-pole event series set to restart the clock on the groundbreaking and Emmy Award-winning drama franchise starring Kiefer Sutherland. Produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Imagine Television and Howard Gordon’s Teakwood Lane Productions, 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY will make its historic debut in the summer of 2014 on FOX.

The announcement was made this morning by Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Fox Broadcasting Company; Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen, Twentieth Century Fox Television; and Brian Grazer, Chairman, Imagine Entertainment.

The high-octane saga will reunite showrunner Howard Gordon with Sutherland and retain the real-time, pulse-pounding, fast-paced format with split screens and complex interweaving storylines, with 12 episodes representing 24 hours. The suspenseful event series once again follows the exploits of heroic agent JACK BAUER (Sutherland), who will resume his story several years following the events of the final season.

“It’s great to have Jack back. ‘24’ redefined the drama genre, and as we reimagine the television miniseries, this iconic show will again break new ground for the network,” said Reilly. “The series remains a global sensation, and everyone at FOX is thrilled to be back at work with Kiefer, Howard and the incredibly creative ‘24’ team.”

“When Howard came to us saying he had an idea for a new chapter of ‘24,’ he quite simply had us at ‘hello,’” remarked 20th Century Fox Television Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden. “’24’ is a signature series for this studio, beloved by critics and audiences worldwide. Howard’s idea to revive the franchise as an event series couldn’t be timelier, and with the brilliant Kiefer Sutherland on board to reprise his iconic role, we can’t wait to get started.”

Added Imagine Television Chairman Brian Grazer, “I’m both excited and proud that Howard, Kiefer, and I, along with ours partners at 20th and Fox, have this new opportunity to give ‘24’ fans what they’ve been asking for – more Jack Bauer. It’s been my experience that people love Jack Bauer because he’s a guy who cuts through the red tape and gets the hardest things done. I am certain 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY will again have a huge impact on our culture.”

“The response to ‘24’ is unlike anything I have ever experienced as an actor before,” noted Sutherland. “To have the chance to reunite with the character, Jack Bauer, is like finding a lost friend. The story ideas from Howard Gordon are exciting and fresh, and will not disappoint. Great thanks to 20th Century Fox Television, Imagine Television and the FOX network for this opportunity. Make no mistake, my goal is to knock your socks off. See you soon.”

“Jack Bauer has always been an exciting, thrilling character, and I confess that I’ve missed him. I think the audience has too,” said executive producer Howard Gordon who served as showrunner for most of the series’ run and won multiple Emmy Awards for his work. “The character has evolved through the years, and this new and exciting event series format is perfect to tell the next chapter of his story and continue to reflect how the world is changing. Fans can rest assured that the Jack they know and love will be back.”

Originally premiering November 6, 2001, ‘24’ was nominated for a total of 73 Emmy Awards, winning for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. Over eight seasons, Kiefer Sutherland garnered seven Emmy Award nominations and one win for Outstanding Lead Actor – Drama Series. While the series gained global recognition, Sutherland’s portrayal of the legendary character penetrated the American psyche like no other dramatic television character to become part of the cultural lexicon.

24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY is a production of 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television in association with Teakwood Lane Productions. Howard Gordon, Brian Grazer and Kiefer Sutherland will executive produce, along with an additional team to be announced. The original series, which had its last American broadcast on May 24, 2010, was created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran.

ABC is sure going full force with this one.

Along with the first teaser for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (damn that’s a lot to type), the network has also launched the first piece of viral marketing for the anticipated series with a blog named The Rising Tide.

The site appears to be run by an anti-S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, as the top of the homepage states “WHO IS S.H.I.E.L.D.? WHAT ARE THEY HIDING? SUPER-POWERS ARE REAL. ALIENS EXIST. WHAT ELSE IS OUT THERE? WE WILL UNCOVER THE TRUTH. WE WILL NOT REMAIN SILENT ANY LONGER.”

It’ll certainly be interesting to see what The Rising Tide comes up with as Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. approaches. Currently the site features a series of short conspiracy videos tying S.H.I.E.L.D. to a plethora of disastrous (and Marvel related) events. Check out the videos below, and let us know what you think!

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

Just when we thought we couldn’t possibly see more marketing for the film (especially after seeing two new posters just yesterday), Warner Bros. has released two new TV spots and another new one-sheet for the highly anticipated Man of Steel.

The poster looks like a variation of one of yesterday’s images, but each spot features some damn cool new footage to further excite you for Man of Steel’s June 14th release. Take a look at everything below, and let us know what you think!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Earlier today we showed you a quick first look at Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; while that first preview was just a few seconds long, it skyrocketed anticipation for tonight’s longer look.

That longer look premiered during tonight’s season finale of Once Upon A Time, and it’s now available online for your viewing pleasure. It’s an unreal first tease at what is set to be one of the coolest television premieres of the year! I don’t want to spoil anything, so simply watch the video below, and let us know what you think!

We’re still hours away from the first full look at Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but ABC has been kind enough to release six seconds of footage from tonight’s teaser.

It’s a quick look, but it’s a cool one. Production values look pretty high on the project, and it should be an absolute blast to watch. The show received its series order just a few days ago, and ABC is not wasting any time promoting it.

Watch the footage below, and look for the full teaser later tonight! Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. hits ABC this Fall!

It’s nearly time to play The Last of Us!

Naughty Dog’s latest is barely a month away from its worldwide release, and Sony has premiered a cool new TV spot to advertise that fact. The video features some beautiful scenery, and has our heroine Ellie justifying the actions that the characters have taken to survive as long as they have.

The Last of Us is going to be incredible, there’s no doubt in my mind about that. I can’t wait to pick up a copy, have you preordered yours? The Last of Us hits stores worldwide on June 14th. There’s also an awesome tie-in comic set before the events of the game to get you up to speed!

Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be more, Warner Bros. has released two new posters for Man of Steel.

Normally, you’d think that an abundance of posters would eventually become overwhelming, or simply stop being exciting. This hasn’t been the case with Man of Steel: each image has been absolutely wonderful, and I’d love to see even more.

Take a look at the new posters below, and let us know just how cool they are. You don’t have long to wait for Man of Steel, as film hits theatres on June 14th!

Back in January it was revealed that Paul Giamatti would portray The Rhino in next year’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Today, director Mark Webb gave us an official first look at the character, and damn does he look angry.

I’m a huge fan of Giamatti’s work, and I’m beyond excited to see his version of Aleksei Mikhailovich Sytsevich. Whether or not you enjoyed the first film, this perfomance is definitely one to watch for.

Check out the image below, and let us know what you think! The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theatres on May 2nd, 2014!

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Maybe this isn’t the darkest timeline after all…

It’s surprising news, but NBC’s long trouble Community has been renewed for a fifth season. The episode count has not yet been revealed, but it’s a safe bet that we’ll get at least 13.

I’ve been a fan of the show since it first premiered in 2009, and it’s been shocking to hear of the show’s renewal every year since then. Season four has suffered from both the worst ratings and the worst episodes, so I was really not expecting another year of content.

I’m unbelievably excited about the news. What do you hope to see in season five?

Did anyone seriously think that this wasn’t going to happen?

It looks like Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has received a full season order. THR reports that the announcement will come at some point tomorrow, May 10th. The episode count for the first season has not been revealed, but based on the popularity of any Marvel IP these days, I’m sure that ABC wants to air as many as possible.

UPDATE:

As expected, ABC has just announced that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been picked up for a full season. No premiere date has been set, but the network announced that the show’s marketing will begin on Sunday, May 12th at 8PM, preceding this year’s Once Upon A Time finale. The first image from the series, as well as the logo have also been revealed. Check them out below!

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will feature a pilot directed by Joss Whedon, who will also act as an executive producer on the series. A short teaser for the show appeared on ABC’s official YouTube Channel yesterday (before promptly being removed). I’ve embedded a working version below, so watch it while you can! The footage features a Hulk-like creature destroying a car, and the effects look pretty damn good!

Now that the series is official, how freaking excited are you!?

It’s barely been a month since The Walking Dead concluded its third season, and you’re already itching for more, aren’t you?

Earlier this week, AMC took us to ‘Zombie School’ with a neat behind-the-scenes video. Today, the network has treated us to the first image from season four. It’s nothing that we haven’t seen before, and probably could have been pulled from any episode, but… it’s nice to know that AMC is thinking of us?

Take a look at the photo below, and let us know what you think! The Walking Dead returns this October!

Defiance fans, you’re getting another season!

The series premiere was the second most watched episode in Syfy’s history, and ratings have been strong ever since, so this awesome news isn’t the least bit surprising.

Season two will consist of 13 episodes, with production beginning this August. I (disappointingly) haven’t started the series (or tie-in game) yet, but based on viewer reception and the previews that I’ve seen, it should be a fun ride.

Read the full press release below, and let us know what you think of the show!

New York, NY – May 10, 2013 – Syfy has renewed its groundbreaking series Defiance, giving a 13-episode second season order to the critically acclaimed hit that has catapulted Syfy to the top cable drama spot in the time period among adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers for three consecutive Mondays.  Season two of Defiance, produced by Universal Cable Productions, will begin production in Toronto in August for a 2014 premiere, returning as the anchor of Syfy’s Powerful Monday’s block of primetime original series.

Redefining the transmedia experience, Defiance has distinguished itself with an unprecedented partnership between Syfy and Trion Worlds, by creating the first-ever true convergence of television and online gaming.  To date, the game has garnered more than 1 million registered accounts while making gaming history as the first online open world shooter to launch on three platforms simultaneously.  As the collaboration between show and game continue into a second season, players will have the opportunity to further influence the world of Defiance.

Kevin Murphy (Desperate Housewives, Caprica, Hellcats) resumes his role as executive producer and showrunner. Smallville’s Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin return as executive producers for season two and Michael Taylor serves as consulting producer.

“Bringing the rich world of Defiance to life has been in incredible team effort.  We couldn’t ask for better partners than Kevin Murphy, his amazing cast and crew, and Trion Worlds,” said Mark Stern, President of Original Content for Syfy and Co-Head of Original Content for UCP. “We can’t wait to see where they take us in the second season.”

Set in the near future, Defiance features an exotically transformed planet Earth, its landscapes permanently altered following the sudden – and tumultuous – arrival of seven unique alien races.  In this somewhat unknown and unpredictable landscape, the richly diverse, newly-formed civilization of humans and aliens must learn to co-exist peacefully.  Each week, viewers follow an immersive character drama set in the boom-town of Defiance, which sits atop the ruins of St. Louis, Missouri, while in the game, players will experience the new frontier of the San Francisco Bay area.

The audience for its April 15 premiere was the second largest series premiere in the network’s history among adults 18-49, making it the biggest in nearly nine years in that coveted demographic, based on Live +7 Data. The premiere also delivered almost 4 million viewers (3,834,000) and has quickly become Syfy’s highest-rated original series this year in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers.  It has also received unprecedented attention as a transmedia event in partnership with Trion Worlds’ MMO game.  Airing Mondays at 9pm, Defiance stars Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Tony Curran, Jaime Murray, Graham Greene and Mia Kirshner.

Looking for some new Man of Steel footage? Warner Bros. has got you covered!

The studio has just released a new UK TV spot for the film, featuring plenty of new clips, as well as our first look at Zod’s heat vision! I thought that things couldn’t get any better than the spot released on Monday, but this new preview certainly gives it a run for its money.

Watch the new spot below, and let us know what you think! Man of Steel soars into theatres on June 14th!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

We’ve already seen set photos, but Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves has just given us our first official look at the film.

The image is fairly revealing, showing us just how far along the apes have come since we last saw them. A pre-CGI Caesar (and another ape in the background) are seen on horseback, towering far above Jason Clarke and the other humans.

Take a look at the image below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the film! Dawn of the Planet of the Apes hits theatres on May 23rd, 2014!

In ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’, a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Has Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles found its Shredder?

Deadline has learned that William Fichtner has joined the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. His character has not been revealed, but Fichtner will play a “lead with iconic stature in the Turtles’ mythology”.

Now, the turtles themselves, as well as Splinter, have all already been cast. Will Arnett is playing April O’Neil’s (Megan Fox) camera man, meaning that the film doesn’t yet have a villain! I think that Fichtner looks a little old to be playing Casey Jones, so could he be stepping into Shredder’s shoes?

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but as soon as Fichtner’s character is officially revealed, we’ll let you know! Would you like to see William in the role?

Well, this stinks.

Just a few weeks after the unveiling of the film’s first poster300: Rise of an Empire has been delayed by eight months. Originally slated to release this August, the film has been moved to March 7th, 2014. The studio didn’t give a reason for the delay, but it’s most likely due to cinemas being very crowded this August.

This move also pushed All You Need is Kill from its original slot to June 6th, 2014. Read the full press release below, and let us know if you’re disappointed!

Warner Bros. Pictures has announced a change of release dates for two of its most-anticipated event films: “All You Need is Kill,” from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, and “300: Rise of an Empire,” from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures. The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

“All You Need is Kill” has been moved to the Summer release corridor, opening on June 6, 2014, with select international markets predating the domestic release, starting the weekend of May 30, 2014. The earlier international release date was specifically chosen to put the opening two weeks ahead of the start of the World Cup. The move reflects the studio’s already strong belief in the huge science fiction actioner, which marks the first collaboration between two proven hit-makers, Tom Cruise and director Doug Liman.

The release date of “300: Rise of an Empire,” a new chapter in the epic “300” saga, has moved to March 7, 2014, with international territories opening day-and-date, reflecting the global popularity of the franchise. The first “300,” which was released in March 2007, went on to earn more than $456 million worldwide.

Fellman stated, “We have tremendous confidence in ‘All You Need is Kill’ and view it as a perfect tent pole for the Summer frame, with its combination of great cast, compelling story and tremendous action.”

Fellman also noted, “Moving ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ to March 7 continues in the tradition of the first ‘300,’ and kicks off the Spring movie-going season in epic style. The film is on track to become all that audiences have come to expect from the franchise.”

Kwan Vandenberg said, “We are thrilled about ‘All You Need is Kill’ heating up our Summer `14 slate. It is an action-packed adventure, told by an extraordinary cast, which is sure to have global appeal.

“We are also excited about the continuation of the ‘300’ saga,” Kwan Vandenberg added. “The first ‘300’ movie was a huge success internationally, and the day-and-date release of the new film is a great opportunity to turn its opening into a worldwide event.”

Warner Bros. Pictures today released the anticipated first trailer for Alfonso Caurón’s Gravity. The trailer is short but sweet, showing portions of the accident that has our astronauts stranded. The trailer is beautifully composed, and filled with haunting classical music that, when paired with the visuals will likely send chills down your spine.

I loved Children of Men, and from what we’ve seen so far, Gravity looks to be a very worthy follow-up. Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Gravity hits theatres on October 4th, 2013.

Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

We haven’t heard much from Disney’s production of Marvel’s Big Hero 6 in quite some time. Today, that silence was broken.

Disney has revealed a first look video that, while revealing nothing from the film, at least gives us a good sense of its art style. The video is short, uncomplicated, and not overly exciting, simply showcasing the San Fransokyo cityscape (and no characters). In any case, it’s nice to know that something is happening with the production, and hopefully we can get a look at some action-packed footage soon!

Watch the footage below, and let us know what you think! Big Hero 6 hits theatres on November 7th, 2014.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Big Hero 6,” an action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring comic-book style action and all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the CG-animated “Big Hero 6” hits theaters in 3D on November 7, 2014.

Pacific Rim may not hit theatres until July 12th, but you’ll be able to get your first taste of the Kaiju this June!

The graphic novel, announced at last year’s New York Comic Con, is just a few weeks away from hitting store shelves. Legendary Comics today revealed two preview pages for the book, and as expected, things are looking damn fine.

Pacific Rim: Tales From Year Zero is illustrated by Pericles Junior, Sean Chen, and Yvel Guichet, and was written by the Pacific Rim screenwriter himself, Travis Beacham. Check out the preview pages below (as well as the cover art by Alex Ross), and let us know what you think!

Hitting stores June 5, PACIFIC RIM: TALES FROM YEAR ZERO serves as a prequel to the highly-anticipated motion picture — Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ Pacific Rim.  Chronicling the very first time Earth is menaced by incredible monsters known as Kaiju, these inhuman beasts rise from the ocean depths and threaten to extinguish all mankind! Witness the race to develop massive robot fighting machines called Jaegers, each one controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. This action-packed book features many of the key characters from the film as we follow them in their early careers. Written by Pacific Rim screenwriter himself, Travis Beacham, and with del Toro’s hands-on supervision, this volume is beautifully illustrated by Sean Chen, Yvel Guichet, and Pericles Junior; inks by Steve Bird and Mark McKenna.

Last week, the second DLC character for the acclaimed Injustice: Gods Among Us was revealed to be Batgirl. Today, we got our first good look at just what she’s capable of, thanks to a cool new trailer from NetherRealm Studios.

I haven’t yet had a chance to pick up Injustice myself, but I’m really looking forward to the day I do. I’ve been thoroughly impressed by what I’ve played of the title, and if review scores are any indication, so is everyone else. I can’t wait to see what NetherRealm has in store for us with the game’s continued DLC.

Watch the Batgirl trailer below, and let us know how you’re liking the game!

Your pull list is about to get longer.

Black Mask Studios has a new sci-fi miniseries on the horizon, and it looks absolutely insane. Penned by Adam Egypt Mortimer (director of Grant Morrison’s Sinatoro), and featuring some incredible art by Darick Robertson (The Boys, Transmetropolitan, Punisher: Born), it’s easy to see from the preview pages that Ballistic is going to be a hit.

It’ll be a damn intriguing five issues as well. We asked Mortimer to fill us in on Ballistic‘s plot, and here’s what he had to say:

The book is something Darick and I have been discussing for years, ever since I sat with him in a pedicab on our way to see the Aquabats at comiccon and I said to him, “I want to do a comic that takes place in a near future world where all technology is alive, and the main character is a failed bank robber with a psychotic talking gun and a flying batwinged car.”. So the whole thing is like a totally crazed take in Lethal Weapon, on a reclaimed trash island near South Korea called Repo City State after the environmental collapse of the west.  The main character, Butch, totally blows a bank robbery attempt and then he and his gun get embroiled in crime lord warfare and a manufactured meltdown of the entire city.

Already sold on Ballistic? You haven’t even seen the preview pages! Take a look below at the art and series synopsis, and let us know what you think! Ballistic will run for five issues, with the first releasing on June 30th! Hmm… I wonder if these guys want to do a signing at the Geekscape SDCC booth…?

I told you the art was amazing. What I wouldn’t do for a print of this!

Welcome to Repo City State, where everyone’s an asshole – even the air conditioners.

Darick Robertson (Happy, The Boys, Transmetropolitan) and Adam Egypt Mortimer?s (director of Grant Morrison?s upcoming Sinatoro) madcap, psychedelic, transreal, utterly-wacko buddy adventure about Butch and his best friend Gun, a drug-addicted, genetically-modified, foul-mouthed firearm, as they attempt to elevate Butch from air conditioner repairman to master criminal in the twisted, post-eco-apocalyptic Repo City State, a reclaimed trash island built entirely from DNA-based, living technology with bad attitudes.

Ballistic marks Darick Robertson?s return to the hard sci-fi worldbuilding of his classic Transmetropolitan but mixed with The Boys? ultra-violence and the lunacy of Happy. Mortimer?s mix of speculative science, pulpy noire, and drug-addled adventure cooks up a strange brew of Lethal Weapon by way of Cronenberg meets Dr. Who if written by Odd Future.

It was completely understandable to not be excited for High Moon Studios Deadpool. After all, movie, superhero, and licensed games in general are almost always terrible. The game is also barely a month away from release, and we haven’t seen a single snippet of gameplay.

Until now, that is. Rev3Games was lucky enough to play Deadpool and upload the footage online. Surprisingly, the game looks really, really good. The footage features a ton of new content, and definitely gives us a good sense of the game’s style.

Watch the gameplay footage below, and let us know what you think! Deadpool hits PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on June 25th!

Remember when Grand Theft Auto V was set to release this Spring? If that had happened… you’d probably be playing it right now. Instead, take a long, hard look at these 12 new screenshots, as you still have four months to wait for the game to release.

Just remember, as Shigeru Miyamoto once said, “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”

Grand Theft Auto V releases on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th. How freaking excited are you for this one?

Take this one with a grain of salt for now, but it’s damn sad news for Jurassic Park fans if it turns out to be true.

Just days after it was confirmed that Jurassic Park IV would return to Isla Nublar, the entire project may have been put on hold due to scripting issues. The internet has been ablaze with rumours of trouble brewing on set, and FleshEatingZipper pulled some (now deleted) tweets from some of the film’s concept artists, stating that the entire team was fired today and that they’re now unsure whether the project is on hold, or cancelled completely.

That’s all the info that we have for now. We’ll update you as we learn more, or when we get an official word. What are your thoughts on this?

CancelledJP

UPDATE: Universal has confirmed the indefinite delay of Jurassic Park IV. Here’s their official statement on the matter, sorry fans:

“Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal’s beloved franchise.  We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise’s storied history.”
