Briefly: It’s been nearly 10 years since us Westerners have had the opportunity to (officially) play a Fatal Frame title. Back at E3, Nintendo revealed that the drought was set to end with the US release of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water this Fall (and we learned of the actual release date back in August).

With the game’s October 22nd release date, we’re now just over a week away from playing Fatal Frame in what looks to be its most terrifying iteration yet. The title’s gamepad-focussed controls look like an incredibly immersive, horrifying way to play what is already one of the scariest video game series in history.

And I can’t wait to get my hands on it. As previously announced, players can download the free-to-start game and play the prologue, chapter 1 and most of chapter 2 for free. If you like it, the full version of the game can be purchased as DLC directly from the Nintendo eShop or via the in-game menu. It’ll cost $62.49 in my country (Canada), and $49.99 in the USA.

You can take a look at the 2spooky4me new trailer below, and let us know just how excited you are to jump back into this universe.

Briefly: It’s still pretty weird (and exciting) to me that Minecraft: Story Mode is even a thing, and after what feels like years of waiting (okay, it’s only been a number of months) Telltale has finally released the first chapter of the incredibly anticipated title.

The first of the game’s five episodes is called ‘The Order of the Stone’, and it’s now available (digitally) on PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and OS X. iOS and Android devices will get the episode on October 15th, and the game is also headed to Vita and even Wii U at a later date.

The retail ‘Season Pass’ edition of Minecraft: Story Mode is still forthcoming, though it should be noted that it includes only the premiere episode on the disc (the rest, of course, will be downloaded once they release), and be available for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on October 27th in North America, and October 30th in Europe.

In Minecraft: Story Mode, playing as either a male or female hero named ‘Jesse,’ you’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.

The season will feature Patton Oswalt as male Jesse, Catherine Taber as female Jesse, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens. Additional casting details for the season are yet to be announced.

As expected, Telltale notes that Minecraft: Story Mode is an adventure for all ages, so expect some tough choices, but nothing The Walking Dead level.

Take a look at the launch trailer for the game below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to jumping in!

Briefly: The coolest thing to come out of New York Comic-Con? Maybe, though it was also cool to hear that next month’s Jessica Jones is awesome.

The very first teaser for the yet-undated (well, 2016) second season of Marvel / Netflix’s Daredevil was shown off at the convention, and the 30 fantastic I-should-probably-rewatch-Daredevil seconds are now online to make you wish it was next year already.

The teaser shows Matt, Foggy, Karen, and Claire all looking fairly somber (probably about all the shit that happened at the end of Daredevil’s incredible first season), and also gives us our first beyond-brief look at Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and Elodie Yung’s Elektra.

We cannot wait to see more footage. Take a look at this teaser below, and let us know what you hope to see in the next season!

Briefly: Being that the very first footage for Disney XD’s Guardians of the Galaxy animated series debuted at last year’s New York Comic-Con, it’s pretty fitting that at this year’s ongoing NYCC, Marvel revealed that it’s getting a second season.

Here are all the details, straight from Marvel:

The new season will continue the thrilling space adventure that follows the ragtag group of misfits that fans have come to love as they fight to protect the galaxy. “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy” season two is currently in production and slated to premiere in 2017.

“We’re pleased to give fans another season of ‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,’ taking them deeper into the Guardians’ universe,” said Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD. “The team at Marvel Animation continues to deliver great stories that capture the tone and spirit of the feature film and provide entirely new chapters to the Guardians of the Galaxy story.”

“We are thrilled at the positive response to ‘Guardians’ from fans of all ages and we are looking forward to bringing them more adventures with these dynamic characters,” said Dan Buckley, Marvel’s President – TV, Publishing & Brand Management. “There are so many possibilities with the Guardians franchise and season two will take viewers even deeper into this rich universe.”

In the exciting second season, The Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers team up to stop evil alien mad scientist The High Evolutionary! After an epic battle The Guardians discover an ancient weapon with mysterious powers. Now, with every alien baddie in the galaxy trying to get their hands/paws/tentacles on this weapon, The Guardians must unlock its secrets before it destroys them and everything they’ve sworn to protect!

Disney XD is currently airing all-new episodes of season one on Saturday nights throughout the month of October featuring “Crystal Blue Persuasion” story arc. A chance encounter with the Collector reveals more about the strange artifact the Guardians picked up – it’s a Spartaxian CryptoCube, but it’s incomplete and requires Pandorian crystals to work properly. Fortunately, the Collector knows where they can be found but it requires a perilous journey.

The series stars Will Friedle (“Boy Meets World”) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Trevor Devall (“Johnny Test”) as Rocket Raccoon, Vanessa Marshall (“Star Wars Rebels”) as Gamora, David Sobolov (“Transformers: Prime”) as Drax the Destroyer, Kevin Michael Richardson (“The Cleveland Show”) as Groot and James Arnold Taylor (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”) as Yondu and Cosmo.

I’ve had a chance to catch a few episodes from the first season, and if you were a fan of last year’s movie, and haven’t given the animated series a chance, I’d implore you to do so.

Are you watching? Are you glad that the series is getting a second season? Sound out below!

Briefly: Comic book legend Frank Miller surprised everyone at the ongoing New York Comic-Con with an appearance at a Dark Knight III: The Master Race panel.

That book hits shelves on November 25th, so of course an attendee asked what Frank Miller had planned following this latest controversial book.

“Oh yeah. My next book is set, I’m working on it now, in fact. It’s a Sin City, a love story set against the backdrop of World War II.”

He offered no further information about the characters or details on the book (including a release window), but the fact that another Sin City is on the way (in book form) is very exciting to me. As long as it turns out better than the added segments in last year’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, I’m definitely down.

Would you be excited for another Sin City book? Or have you seen/read enough of Basin City and its inhabitants for one lifetime?

Briefly: I remember being so excited for the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies adaptation when it was first announced back in 2009 (the same year that the book was first published). Since then, the film has shifted stars, directors, studios, and more, and after seeing the first image from the actually happening film back in November of last year, the first footage from the long-awaited adaptation has debuted at New York Comic-Con.

really enjoyed the novel, turning something that was nearly impossible for me to get through into something funny, original, and incredibly intriguing. I really can’t wait to see how the film adaptation turns out.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is directed by 17 Again and Charlie St. Cloud director Burr Steers, with a script from Steers and David O. Russell. The trailer plays out exactly how I hoped it would, looking simply like another Jane Austen adaptation at the start, and quickly evolving into something more.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: The official synopsis for X-Men: Apocalypse has finally been revealed.

By M&M’s.

Yep. The candy revealed a partnership with 20th Century Fox today, which officially began with the debut of this synopsis, and a ‘cute’ photo of M&M’s dressed like Storm and Magneto.

In any case, here are the goods:

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, opening in theaters everywhere May 27, 2016.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible.

Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

And the actual goods:

Mars Incorporated - X-Men Apocalypse

In any case, what do you think of the synopsis? Do you like what we’ve seen of Apocalypse thus far? Or are you still trying to get passed the Ivan Ooze comparisons?

Briefly: These Jessica Jones teasers are sure coming in at a rapid pace, aren’t they?

While the previous videos have focussed on Jessica and her incredible abilities, today’s teaser gives us our first look at David Tennant’s Kilgrave (aka The Purple Man).

This also marks the first teaser for the series that actually features dialogue (and Jessica’s face), so let’s hope that continues in later teasers.

Also, the show is barely two months away. Would it kill you to release a full trailer, Netflix?

Take a look at the teaser below, and let us know what you think! Jessica Jones hits Netflix on November 20th!

Taking place after a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, the new series follows Jessica Jones as she rebuilds her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.

Briefly: Finally, finally, finally, just less than three years after the console launched, Sony’s Playstation 4 console is receiving its first price drop.

The drop has been rumoured for some time now, and Sony made it official last night with a short post on their official blog. Starting tomorrow, October 9th, the Playstation 4 will cost just $349.99 in the United States, and $429.99 in Canada.

For us Canadians, this means that the PS4 is priced just $29.99 higher than it was at launch. Making me super happy that I paid just $399 for mine on launch day three years ago.

Sony also detailed the plethora of bundles and choices that gamers (and gift-buyers) have this holiday season:

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 Bundle (500 GB HDD) – $349.99 / CA$429.99 (MSRP); launches Oct. 9

Limited Edition Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 PS4 Bundle (1 TB HDD) – $429.99 / CA$499.99 (MSRP); launches Nov. 6

Limited Edition Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars PS4 Bundle (500 GB HDD) – $399.99 / CA$469.99 (MSRP); launches Nov. 13

Limited Edition Star Wars Battlefront PS4 Bundle (500 GB HDD) – $399.99 / CA$469.99 (MSRP); launches Nov. 17

Have you picked up a PS4 yet? Is tomorrow’s price drop enough to entice you to do so? Let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: With Valve’s long awaited Steam Machines finally (finally) releasing to the masses this November, gamers everywhere have been wondering just how we’ll get our hands on the oft-delayed TV friendly hardware.

Well, you can stop wondering, as Valve has revealed that GameStop will be the exclusive retailer of Steam hardware come its launch on November 10th.

Yeah, we didn’t see that coming either.

Valve’s very own Steam service has been slowly putting nails in GameStop’s brick-and-mortar coffin for years, and with this announcement gamers that probably haven’t stepped foot into one of GameStop’s stores since Steam launched will be forced to if they want to pick up any of this gorgeous hardware.

Keep in mind that this exclusivity extends to Valve’s Steam Link console (for those of you that already have powerful gaming PC’s), and the gorgeous-but-how-will-it-feel Steam Controller.

Weird.

I’m certainly interested to see how these machines do once they’re available to the public. I love the idea of a powerful gaming PC that I can simply hook up to my television, but if the Machine’s don’t sell, I can’t see many AAA publisher’s jumping on board SteamOS.

In any case, are you planning to pick up a Steam Link or Steam Machine when they launch at GameStop, EB Games, and GAME on November 10th?

Briefly: I’m not sure how this game’s existence eluded me for so long, but WayForward Technologies has crafted a video game tie-in to the upcoming Goosebumps movie, and it’s set to launch on almost everything next week!

WayForward took to the official Playstation Blog today to tell us all about the first-person point-and-click adventure title, which they promise is true to the beloved series of children’s books and is not your typical crappy tie in.

In the game, you’ll “need to use your wits to investigate the surroundings, puzzle out clues, and outsmart the monsters before it’s too late! Survive a trek through your neighborhood, unravel the mysteries of the Dead House, and sneak through the mall after hours; only then can you confront Slappy and stop his plans for revenge! Players beware… you’re in for a scare in the exciting Goosebumps video game.”

WayForward director Tom Hulett writes that “I’m not satisfied if the game is merely Goosebumps-flavored, or brand-adjacent. I couldn’t sleep if the game felt like anything less than an authentic Goosebumps product with all the hallmarks that entails. It also helped that we were able to visit Sony Pictures to screen the film early on to provide inspiration and insight into the direction of the movie to help set up the prequel story.”

As with most 90’s kids, the Goosebumps brand was a huge part of my childhood. Over the years I ended up with boxes and boxes filled with R.L’s unique brand of child-friendly horror, and I’m beyond excited to relive some of those memories with this month’s Goosebumps movie, and now this adventure game.

Goosebumps: The Game will launch on October 13th for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and 3DS. Take a look at the debut trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: They’ve already taken on StrengthPerceptionEndurance, and Charisma, and today Bethesda debuted part five of their fantastic and hilarious Do You Know What Makes You S.P.E.C.I.A.L. ad campaign for November’s release of Fallout 4.

This week’s S.P.E.C.I.A.L. video focuses on Intelligence. Study it carefully to ensure your survival and to discover what makes you S.P.E.C.I.A.L.!

Seriously, these videos have been an absolute blast so far, and I can’t wait to see the rest of them (mostly because that means that Fallout 4 is SUPER close).

You can take a look at the Intelligence video below, and be sure to let us know how excited you are for the game! Fallout 4 hits PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on November 10th!

Briefly: If you’ve watched the last two teasers (here and here) for Marvel / Netflix’ upcoming Jessica Jones, it should be pretty clear already that Jessica is more than capable of some pretty powerful stuff.

Netflix has just debuted another teaser for the series’ upcoming first season, and this time instead of the aftermath of a night out (or a bar brawl), we get another look at just what Jessica can do.

In the series, “After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City. The series stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker, and Carrie-Anne Moss. “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg (“Twilight”, “Dexter”) and Liz Friedman (“Elementary”), along with Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Smallville,” “Heroes”), who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.”

After Daredevil‘s incredible first season earlier this year, I cannot wait to see what Marvel and Netflix have in store for us with Jessica Jones. The first season hits Netflix in its entirety on November 20th.

Briefly: Katniss Everdeen’s epic story is now barely a month away from its conclusion, and Lionsgate has just debuted the final, final trailer for the beyond-anticipated The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.

This latest video is surprisingly powerful, and features our heroine making a desperate call for essentially, President Snow’s head.

As disappointed as I was in the first film in the series, I loved every second of Catching Fire, and though I enjoyed what I saw in Mockingjay‘s first chapter, the film felt (understandably) like an incomplete story.  As such, I can’t wait to see where things go, as I haven’t read a single word of the series of novels.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2hits theatres on November 20th!

Briefly: All this has happened before, and all of it will happen again.

Yes, the plastic instrument war begins anew this month, with the launch of Rock Band 4 today and Guitar Hero Live on October 20th.

Rock Band 4 may have Guitar Hero Live beat when it comes to release date, but none of the ads I’ve seen for Rock Band 4 have had as much influence on me as this Guitar Hero Live video does.

See, Rock Band 4 looks largely similar to the games that preceded it (though with a much, much larger library this time around), while Guitar Hero Live looks to be doing something completely different, focusing on an actual concert experience with real crowds and real reactions (as well as the social GHTV, which sounds interesting as hell).

In any case, today’s video shows James Franco and Lenny Kravitz duking it out in the game’s ‘Win the Crowd’ mode, which looks like so much fun. Take a look.

https://youtu.be/ev66m8Obosw

So, are you looking forward to the resurgence of these instrument-powered titles? Or is this a niche that would wish would stay dead?

Briefly: Following the exciting-as-hell full trailer from just last week, Fox today debuted a fantastic new poster for its upcoming The X-Files limited series.

Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES will be a thrilling, six-episode event series helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history. Production on THE X-FILES event series is set to begin in summer 2015.

THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny), as they investigate unexplained cases – “X-Files” – for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

Lucky New York Comic-Con attendees will have a chance to see the 6-episode season’s premiere episode far earlier than the rest of us, who will be waiting until the end of January next year.

Take a look at the image below, and let us know if you’re excited for Mulder and Sculley’s return!

Briefly: Last week we (finally) got our first video glimpse at Marvel / Netflix’ next highly anticipated series, Jessica Jones.

While the first tease gave us a pretty good idea of just what Jessica’s mornings may look like, this latest teaser shows us a little bit more of her evenings. Ouch.

Take a look at the new teaser below, and let us know what you think!

Jessica Jones launches on Netflix on November 20th, and after Daredevil earlier this year, it could not come soon enough.

https://youtu.be/Pw7lAFlCSlY

After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.

The series stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker, and Carrie-Anne Moss. “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg (“Twilight”, “Dexter”) and Liz Friedman (“Elementary”), along with Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Smallville,” “Heroes”), who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.

Briefly: It’s finally here! Yes, Fear The Walking Dead‘s first season is officially over, and whether or not you enjoyed the extremely slow burn of the series’ first six episodes (read our review right here), Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462 has launched to fill your airborne walker needs.

The first episode aired during last night’s Fear finale, while the subsequent 15 will air during this season of The Walking Dead proper.

“Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462” tells the story of a group of passengers aboard a commercial airplane during the earliest moments of the outbreak. Over the course of the series, the plane and the lives of its passengers are put in jeopardy once they discover an infected traveler. The series is written by L. Signorino and Mike Zunic and directed by “Fear” director of photography Michael McDonough.

While zombies on a plane sound interesting enough, the coolest aspect of the news has to be the revelation that one character who somehow survives the attack will join the cast of Fear the Walking Dead in season two.

Are you down with the idea of a standalone special? Do we already have enough The Walking Dead? Watch the first episode now, and sound out in the comments below!

Briefly: It’s been a long time coming, and now that October is here, we’re less than a week away from the highly anticipated premiere of American Horror Story‘s fifth season, Hotel.

Today, Ryan Murphy revealed the completely different opening credits for the series upcoming series.

As always, Hotel brings on an all-star cast consisting of Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters among others, and is set to premier next Wednesday, October 7th

American Horror Story has had a great few years of critically acclaimed stories and performances, and I’m certainly interested to see if Ryan Murphy, the cast, and the crew can keep it going for another year.

Briefly: They’ve already taken on StrengthPerception, and Endurance, and today Bethesda debuted part four of their fantastic and hilarious Do You Know What Makes You S.P.E.C.I.A.L. ad campaign for November’s release of Fallout 4.

This week’s S.P.E.C.I.A.L. video focuses on Charisma. Study it carefully to ensure your survival and to discover what makes you S.P.E.C.I.A.L.!

Seriously, these videos have been an absolute blast so far, and I can’t wait to see the rest of them (mostly because that means that Fallout 4 is SUPER close).

You can take a look at the Charisma video below, and be sure to let us know how excited you are for the game! Fallout 4 hits PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on November 10th!

Following total atomic annihilation, the rebuilding of this great nation of ours may fall to you. That’s why Vault-Tec has prepared this educational video series for you to better understand the seven defining attributes that make you S.P.E.C.I.A.L.!

Briefly: Among The Sleep launched so long ago for PC players that I nearly forgot that it existed. It hit Windows and OS X all the way back in May of 2014, and while a PS4 release was teased long before the initial launch, developer Krillbite Studios has been decidedly quiet about the still in development console version.

Until today, when a guest post appeared on the official Playstation Blog, and said post included both a release date and an explanation for the long, long delay.

Among The Sleep is a first-person survival horror game that’s played through the eyes of a toddler. Original as hell already, right? The game is extremely atmospheric, and seeing the world through the eyes and imagination of a human so young (and tiny) makes for a freaky experience like no other.

The best part of the long wait for the PS4 version is definitely the complete technical upgrade that the game has received:

One of the coolest things in the PlayStation version of the game is the full audio-visual upgrade — Among the Sleep now has even better graphics and an even better sound experience. We think frame rate is an essential part of a good game experience and have worked hard to get the game to run at a proper 60 frames per second. This was probably the biggest part of the upgrade and it makes for a super smooth experience and does a lot for immersion!

I cannot wait to check this out with my surround headset. Among The Sleep will hit the PS4 on December 10th, which is still a few months away, but based on the reviews that the original game and the technical upgrade that this version has received, it should surely be worth the wait.

You can take a look at a trailer for Among The Sleep below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the console version!

Briefly: Fans and critics everywhere were obnoxiously divided over Avengers: Age of Ultron when it hit theatres earlier this year. As always, many fans ate up and became infatuated with every single frame of the entirely too long Summer blockbuster, while others found the film messy and unfocussed.

Regardless of which side of Ultron‘s fence you sit on, Marvel has officially released the gag reel to be included with this week’s Blu-Ray release, and it’s better than the damed movie.

It also features way more dancing than you’d expect.

You can take a look at the reel below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Avengers: Age of Ultron hits Blu-Ray this Friday, October 2nd!

Jonathan (and I) also had an opportunity to chat with the cast before the film hit theatres, so you should probably head here and check that out too.

Briefly: Back in August AMC announced plans for a standalone The Walking Dead special, set to take place in the Fear the Walking Dead timeline, and to be set on an airplane in the early days of the infection.

Today, the network announced further details about the special, and it sounds damned cool. Here’s the synopsis:

“Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462” tells the story of a group of passengers aboard a commercial airplane during the earliest moments of the outbreak. Over the course of the series, the plane and the lives of its passengers are put in jeopardy once they discover an infected traveler. The series is written by L. Signorino and Mike Zunic and directed by “Fear” director of photography Michael McDonough.

I really enjoyed the airplane scene in 2013’s World War Z, and having an extended look at freshly-turned walkers on a plane should be interesting as hell. Or boring as hell. We’ll see I suppose.

AMC has revealed that the first of 16 episodes will debut during this Sunday’s season finale of Fear the Walking Dead, with the remaining episodes airing during commercial breaks of The Walking Dead proper’s sixth season.

While zombies on a plane sound interesting enough, the coolest aspect of the news has to be the revelation that one character who somehow survives the attack will join the cast of Fear the Walking Dead in season two.

Briefly: This one sounds pretty freaking intense. Sadly, I missed the SDCC screening of the film back in July (which I heard nothing but good things about), but starting today it’s available on about 40,000 different platforms.

It’s called The Hive, and it’s coming from our pals at Nerdist and Legendary, and it sounds awesome. Here’s the synopsis:

At the height of summer, Adam and Katie find love for the first time. Fellow camp counselors Clark and Jess couldn’t care less about the kids they’re overseeing as long as they can hook up. But, when a plane crashes nearby, their investigation unleashes a mysterious plague, putting all campers in danger.

As Camp Yellow Jacket slips into chaos, Adam wakes in a boarded-up cabin with no memory of who or where he is. His only clues are the notes he’s scrawled for himself and memories that aren’t his own. As his friends turn into monsters around him, the key to surviving the apocalypse is locked in one infected counselor’s mind.

Uniquely shot with four different lens/palates to give each frame its own look, and set to the music of internationally renowned music producer Steve Aoki, Nerdist Presents The Hive is an event that sci-fi horror fans won’t want to miss!

Classic Adam and Katie. Ain’t It Cool News called this one  “Evil Dead meets Momento”, which is a movie that I need to see. Like right now.

The Hive is available today on iTunes, Google Play, Vimeo, Amazon, Playstation, and Microsoft Movies, and hits VOD on October 12th. Take a look at the film’s trailer below, and let us know if you plan to check it out!

Briefly: We still don’t know when it’ll be airing (though we are very excited that it’s airing at all), but ABC and Disney have just debuted a gorgeous new poster for the next season of Agent Carter.

AgentCarter2

The poster debuted today at Entertainment Weekly, which notes that Agent Carter will be a part of theMarvel’s Television Presents: Agents of Primetime panel at NYCC on Friday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. ET.

I’m excited. Are you excited? We don’t know what season two has in store for us, I’m almost looking forward to Agent Carter‘s return more than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s (and it’s not just because I have a crush on Hayley Attwell).

Briefly: It’s not much, but it is the first real footage that we’ve seen from the upcoming Netflix series Marvel’s Jessica Jones.

The video popped up on Marvel’s Spanish Facebook page a few hours ago, and should give non-readers a little bit of insight into just what Jessica is capable of. Don’t worry, the video is short and features no dialogue, so even monolingual folk like me will be able to get the full effect.

Take a look at the video below, and let us know how excited you are for Jessica Jones! The full season hits Netflix on November 20th!

Briefly: I was beyond excited for 505 Games upcoming Adr1ft when I first heard about the title back in June.

The game “is an immersive First Person Experience (FPX) that tells the story of an astronaut in peril. Floating silently amongst the wreckage of a destroyed space station with no memory and a severely damaged EVA suit slowly leaking oxygen, the only survivor struggles to determine the cause of the catastrophic event that took the lives of everyone on board. The player fights to stay alive by exploring the wreckage for precious resources, and overcomes the challenges of an unforgiving environment to repair the damaged EEV and safely return home.”

It basically looks like Alfonso Caùron’s Gravity in video game form, and that sounds so freaking cool.

The game was slated to hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One at some point this month, but the developer has revealed that the September release simply isn’t going to happen.

Because Adr1ft has been hand selected to be an Oculus launch title when the consumer Oculus Rift hits in Q1 2016.

I’m bummed about the delay, but that’s pretty damned cool. I just hope that it’s still coming to PS4, because I do not have the cash to build a gaming PC.

Are you looking forward to the title? Will you be playing it on an Oculus? Sound out below!

Briefly: Yes!

Pretty much every single gamer I know has been waiting (and waiting) patiently (or impatiently) for EA to reveal just when we’ll be able to jump into the Star Wars Battlefront beta.

Now we know, and it’s really freaking close, guys.

EA announced today that gamers will have the opportunity to play the walker assault on Hoth, a co-op  survival on Tatooine, and drop zone on Sullust. The beta will begin on October 8th, and conclude on October 12th.

The beta is thankfully open to everyone, and will be available on every single platform that Star Wars Battlefront is releasing on. Yep, all three of them. That’s PS4, Xbox One, and PC, of course.

So, how many hours to you plan on putting in over the four day period?

Briefly: Does this mean we’ll be seeing Negan too? What will that mean for our beloved Glenn?

TheWrap has learned that Luck and Waterloo Road actor Tom Payne has been cast as a key character in the upcoming season of The Walking Dead.

The actor will portray Jesus, who first appeared in issue 91 of the long-running comic book, became a trusted advisor to Rick in Alexandria, and was pivotal in the struggle against the book’s most extreme villain thus far, Negan.

Based on the casting and the first-look trailer from SDCC, it’s pretty clear that we’re going to be seeing some major changes in this season of the celebrated series. I just hope we end the year with some of our favourite characters making it out alive (and hopefully a few of them don’t to keep things interesting).

What do you think of the casting? Who would you like to see as Negan? Sound out below!

The Physician

Briefly: There is no way that I can pick up Lego Dimensions. The day that Nintendo’s Amiibo figures released, I decided that I would buy just one, and to this date I’ve purchased every. single. figure. I become addicted to things far too easily, and Lego Dimensions would be no different.

Which is unfortunate, because the game looks absolutely phenomenal, and mixes a ridiculous amount of properties together in an incredible amount of ways.

A new trailer for the game has just hit the web, letting us know that the always fabulous Allison Brie would be reprising the role of Unikitty in the game. It’s a hilarious new look at the game that’s going to sell a lot of Lego this holiday season. In the trailer, Alison gets pulled through the LEGO Gateway and into the digital game as Unikitty, the half unicorn, half anime kitten from Cloud Cuckoo Land, to battle alongside Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle in their quest to stop Lord Vortech and save the LEGO Multiverse.

The LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack includes a complete, mission-based The LEGO Movie level, plus The LEGO Movie Adventure World, an additional open-world environment, which can be unlocked with the Wyldstyle minifigure that comes with the game.

For fans of The LEGO Movie that want to customize their LEGO Dimensions experience, there will be a Unikitty Fun Pack with LEGO Unikitty minifigure and Cloud Cuckoo Car, an Emmet Fun Pack with a LEGO Emmet minifigure and Excavator, a Bad Cop Fun Pack with a LEGO Bad Cop minifigure and Police Car, and a Benny Fun Pack with a LEGO Benny minifigure and Spaceship. These highly collectible Fun Packs will provide new buildable characters and vehicles, as well as special in-game abilities. Every vehicle and gadget can be physically built and then rebuilt twice for a total of three different objects that do entirely different things in the digital game for massive variety.

Lego Dimensions hits PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U on September 27th.
