Geekscape 516: The San Diego Comic Con 2019 Special!

Their most recent collaboration ‘The Dewey Decibal System’ is discussed as well as a bit of religion and politics… the things we’re supposed to not talk about on the internet. Geekscape 496: Hanging In The Van With Chris From Punchline!

It’s been a long time since Chris Fafalios of Punchline has been on the podcast (unless you count his involvement in the Geekscape theme song which is on EVERY episode)! And a lot has changed in the 10 years since. Punchline continues to put out albums, they’re finally touring the West Coast again and Chris has discovered his love of Pokémon, thanks to Pokémon Go! After a show in San Diego, we sit in the tour van and talk about our love of Nintendo, why Breath of the Wild might be our favorite piece of media ever and I explain why so far ‘Spider-Man’ on the PS4 might be the best game of 2018. Along the way we talk about making music, Punchline’s new album ‘Lion’ and lead singer Steve Soboslai drops by for a few! It’s always great to catch up with old friends as you’ll definitely hear in this episode. If you’re not a Punchline fan now, I hope this one does it for you!

Geekscape 494: Hanging On The Rooftop With MC Chris!

As I tell you in the intro, my knowledge of MC Chris was fairly minimal when he was proposed to me as a guest… but I knew he was really cool and a lot of my friends were fans and that was good enough for me! Well, after having him on the podcast I gotta tell you that I’m now a fan and he IS very cool! But the pop culture rapper, animator, comedian and actor is so much more than that! As we soon discover in our conversation, it’s not all Star Wars and comic books in MC Chris’ world (although there is a lot of that)! We get into some real talk, from his time dealing with social anxiety at NYU and playing PC games as a kid to some of the professional and personal pitfalls that followed him in his animation career. And we talk about where Chris is RIGHT NOW, in his new turn towards positivity, helping his fans out and how his upcoming tour and album are going to be the best time ever! Geekscape 456: Stomping Bugs And Making Hits With Jake Busey!

I’m just going to say it off the top: Jake Busey is really, really awesome. We welcome Jake onto Geekscape to talk about his new action comedy horror rock film ‘Dead Ant’ and talk a lot about classics like ‘The Frighteners’ and ‘Starship Troopers’ along the way. We also discuss growing up in a music family with his father Gary and his friends and Jake’s only early career as a musician and how growing up changed all that. Jake gives us some hints about his role in the new Predator film and gives a touching remembrance to both Bill Paxton and Tom Petty. Really, I found Jake to be a very smart, kinda and well spoken guy and loved having him on the show! Enjoy!
