Mega Ran and MC Lars are Nerdcore rappers at the top of their game. And they took some time off from their Rushmore of Nerdcore tour to sit with me and talk about some history. It’s like 3 old friends catching up as we talk about their separate histories and what got them into music and about the beginnings of the Nerdcore scene in general. Their most recent collaboration ‘The Dewey Decibal System’ is discussed as well as a bit of religion and politics… the things we’re supposed to not talk about on the internet. Mega Ran Shot A Music Video At This Year’s Nerdapalooza! Watch It now!

Briefly: Mega Ran is BACK.

Mega Ran just launched his latest music video, titled ‘Best Friends’. Shot at the 7th and final Nerdapalooza Music Festival last month in Orlando, the video contains special appearances by some of the world’s most talented nerds: WWE’s Xavier Woods (who can get down on some DDR) MC Frontalot, MC Lars, Sammus, Shubzilla, Richie Branson, Doug Funnie, K-Murdock, YT Cracker, and many more.

The song will appear on Mega Ran and Mister Wilson’s album “Blur Bomber,” which is all about Sonic and Mega Man’s crossover comic “When Worlds Collide,” releasing DECEMBER 10, 2013 on bandcamp, Spotify and more.

We saw Mega Ran live in San Diego this past Summer (after interviewing him earlier in the year), and I certainly hope that I have the opportunity to do so again. He was freaking awesome. If you haven’t experience his work, be sure to check out his official website. You can thank us later.

Mega Ran’s Latest Rap Takes On ‘The Killing Joke’

Briefly: Mega Ran rocks… seriously

The prominent nerdcore rapper headlined our fantastic Comic-Con Nerd-A-Thon concert back in July (after telling us all about his favourite retro video games), and now he’s back with a new track all about Alan Moore’s acclaimed (and controversial) Batman: The Killing Joke. The song overlays audio from the Batman NES game, and it’s freaking awesome.

Ran is currently on tour with Homeboy Sandman and Open Mike Eagle, and has a few dates left around the US (Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, FL, Orlando, FL, Charlotte, NC). If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend that you head to one of these shows.
