I was at RetroCon this weekend and got a chance to sit down with Alvree of Ashen Phoenix. Alvree is one of the quirkiest and interesting guests I’ve ever had. Instead of talking Cosplay we ended up discussing how great Horror Movies and Halloween is. A perfect way to end September and kick off October.

Past Guest Kyle K posted a video of Brian Fitzy covering one of my favorite rap songs about a year ago on his facebook. I noticed he was from Philly and booked him on one of my chords for cures concerts. Ever since I desperately wanted to get him on the podcast, it took a while to find a day we were both free but it was worth the wait. Brian was an awesome guest and we talked about discovering rap as a kid, how Brian learned to do what he does and the worst gig ever.

I attended Philadelpiha Wizard World on Sunday (22nd) and grabbed some interviews with a bunch of people including Lloyd Kaufman of Troma, the good people of RetroCon and Scott Derby to name few. This episode also comes with the bonus content of a microphone fuck up where the whole interview is just last week’s guest Lily LeDeux selling photos while I try to interview her boss. Lesson is don’t us omnidirectional mics at a convention.

I hit up Only on Weekend’s Record Release show on May 30th, I ran around a got interviews with Only on Weekends, Kick Back Tomorrow, Rushmore and Nobody Yet. Not the world’s best audio as there was nowhere to really go to record so apologize for lots of ambient noise.

Kevin should have been on the podcast about 80 episodes ago. Him and I have had such a long term friendship that it’s embarrassing that it took this long to get him on the show to talk about his music. After about a year and a half Kevin is breaking up his band In Case It Rains to be the full time drummer for Rivers Monroe. Their tour begins June 10th. Be sure to check out their tour dates and say hello to Kevin.

Also the song playing during the intro is Turncoat off Unsung Zeroes album Moments from Mourning.

I saw the Limbs short when filmmakers Jason Hornack posted it on the Reddit Horror Club page. I took it down because it didn’t fit our criteria for that particular subreddit HOWEVER I was a fan of the short and offered Jason a guest spot on the Podcast. We talked about horror films, filmmaking and various other topics! Check out the short below!

Sean (aka Bossbattle) Esl contacted me on reddit about playing Chords for Cures shows about a year ago and we became good friends. His live show was full of unique sounds and captivating visuals. When he told me he was moving to Indonesia I was heartbroken, so we decided to do a podcast (however snow storms forced us to Skype instead of meet face to face.

The intro music contains the song Sacred Lands by Bossbattle from the Chords for Cures Volume 3.

I don’t remember who it was but a few weeks ago someone posted a video of Cossbysweaters song “Everything’s Coming Up Milhouse”. I became a huge fan of song. I heard a few other songs from Allison (including her ode to D&D) and decided I wanted to have her on the podcast.

Allison was an absolutely delight to talk to. I will definitely have her back on sometime!

While we discuss her music briefly our bigger focus was on discussing Television.

Go support her buy picking up her new album! It features Good Kid (which Allison performs at the end of the episode).

The intro music contains the song It’s All In My Head by In Case It Rains off the Chords For Cures Volume 3 comp.

I’ve been sitting on this episode a few weeks waiting until all the Comic Con news died down. This was one of the most difficult episodes I’ve ever recorded. I sat down with my brother Brian for roughly 2.5 hours and talked about his Addictions and sobriety. I split the episode making this one all about the addiction, next week I’ll release the episode about getting sober.

This is another long lost episode of the Saint Mort Show. This isn’t as long lost as the Dr. Greene episode a few weeks ago but it was still recorded back in January or February perhaps? I honestly can’t remember.

While I’d known of Dave Bullis from various projects he had written and directed in my town (Including Game Over from Episode 6) I’d never met him until this recording. I had just joined his writer’s group and became fast friends.

The intro music contains the song Metwo from Yale, Massachusetts ‘ album Act Like You’ve Been There.
