Briefly: It’s been a long time coming, and now that October is here, we’re less than a week away from the highly anticipated premiere of American Horror Story‘s fifth season, Hotel.

Today, Ryan Murphy revealed the completely different opening credits for the series upcoming series.

As always, Hotel brings on an all-star cast consisting of Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters among others, and is set to premier next Wednesday, October 7th

American Horror Story has had a great few years of critically acclaimed stories and performances, and I’m certainly interested to see if Ryan Murphy, the cast, and the crew can keep it going for another year.

Briefly: Another day, another new teaser for ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’!

This one is probably the creepiest yet, and that disgusting looking arm definitely had me cringing for a few seconds.

Hotel, of course, brings on an all-star cast consisting of Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters among others, and is set to premier on October 7th!

Briefly: After numerous creepy teasers, and with less than a month until its premiere, FX has finally debuted the first actual trailer for American Horror Story: Hotel.

Sort of.

It’s a trailer showing off the expansive cast and creepy setting of the latest 13-episode season, and not much context. Also so much Lady Gaga.

Hopefully we’ll get a deeper look at the series before the October 7th premiere, but in any case, at least we know that American Horror Story: Hotel is as pretty as ever.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be checking into Hotel next month!

Briefly: We’re just over a month away from American Horror Story‘s anticipated return, and as in past years, the short, creepy, fantastic teasers have returned.

Last month’s lone teaser depicted a gruesome hand ringing, naturally, a hotel call bell (this season’s subtitle is Hotel). It was actually Lady Gaga’s hand, as Gaga takes centre stage in this season of the celebrated series. Last week, two even creepier teasers hit the web.

Today, three further teasers have debuted online, both short as ever, and both showing off some pretty gruesome imagery. I won’t spoil them for you, so take a few seconds with the each below, and let us know what you think!

Each and every year at Comic Con we all say the same thing. “There is more and more stuff to do OUTSIDE the convention center”, and this year, naturally wasn’t any different.

FX had taken over an entire field just outside the convention center, and set up their Fearless Arena. It was a HUGE area (in comic con terms), and when we arrived for the press event it was very nice to be able to roam around away from the crowds (and away from those lines).

FX had multiple attractions for many of their shows. The one that stood out the most was a HUGE hotel for the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Hotel. Walking inside the Hotel the whole thing was decked out. Pristine floors that looked like they could be marble, really convincing. The front desk had a wall of keys and mailboxes behind it. Inside attendees were given a bag and lead into one of eight rooms. The rooms were money grab pods! Derek and I were lead into our own pods, the fans turned on and we were tasked with grabbing as much cash as possible. It was a lot freaking harder than you think, like really hard. We bagged our cash and went to the front desk to see what we won. We didn’t get the most cash, so we were handed the consolation prizes (a neat key shaped keychain).

The next event we checked out was the giant Fargo snowglobe. Thats right, a life sized freaking snowglobe. Inside was a famous scene from the show, and a facade of one of the towns buildings. We walked in, and a snow cannon went off and snapped a picture of us. Derek doesn’t really know how to pose for these things, so he just stood there looking confused. They also handed us waffle scented air-fresheners, which we haven’t actually had the courage to test out just yet.

The last one we checked out was a VR experience for The Strain. Attendees were each sat in a chair and present with a Samsung Gear VR. This attraction was a first person experience where we were lead through a dangerous area infested with vampires. A character from the show told us that we were looking for a lost survivor. This was a full 360 experience, and the 3D sound in this one was really on point. The sound of the creatures running around behind us was quite immersive. The room was equipped with powerful subwoofers in the floor, so every time something happened, you really felt it.

See, awkward as hell.
See, awkward as hell.

The last attraction, that we unfortunately weren’t able to enjoy, was a medevil themed obstacle course for their newest show The Bastard Executioner. This show sounds freaking awesome! A retired Knight from King Edwards court has to take up his sword again as an executioner. Not much else is known about the story, but I am so very excited to see this program.

The entire team from FX really pulled out all the stops. The FX Fearless Arena really was an awesome experience for anyone at San Diego Comic Con, and it didn’t require a badge!

Briefly: Fans of American Horror Story were beyond disappointed to learn that longtime leading lady Jessica Lange would not be a part of its upcoming season.

Today, fans should be feeling decidedly happier, as Kathy Bates, who has done a phenomenal job in the series since Coven, will be returning for Hotel.

Ryan Murphy announced the news via twitter, simply stating that “Kathy Bates is running the Hotel.”

Briefly: Following the addition of Lady Gaga to American Horror Story‘s fifth seasonHotel, FX has revealed two new additions to the cast, and confirmed on unfortunate departure.

Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson, who both had guesting roles on American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy’s Glee, have joined Hotel in undisclosed roles.

Bomer noted that “I love collaborating with Ryan Murphy. It feels like this world where there are no bounds.”

Sadly, Jessica Lange, who has been a series star since its very inception, confirmed rumours at Payleyfest that she will depart the series, and will not be a part of season five.

Are you looking forward to the upcoming season? What do you think of Lange’s departure? Sound out below!

Briefly: It’s hard to imagine a world where Jessica Lange won’t be the lead in American Horror Story, but it appears as though a new star for the series’ next iteration has been found, and it’s one that I would have never guessed:

Yep, according to TVLine, “sources confirm that Gaga will very much be the star of the latest chapter”, which has been subtitled ‘Hotel’.

This year’s iteration of the celebrated series is also set to be “very different” from its predecessors, according to FX Networks CEO John Landgraf. We’re not exactly sure what that means yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know when we learn more.
