Stephen Colbert, the host of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report, will be making a cameo appearance in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy. Colbert will not be appearing in the first film but will either appear in The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug or the third film The Hobbit: There And Back Again.

Colbert is well known to be a huge J.R.R. Tolkien and Lord Of The Rings fan. There is no word currently whether he will be a key character or just part of the background. Could he possibly be appearing as an elf in the film being that the comedian is fluent in elvish?

There’s been quite a bit of talk and speculation lately wondering if James Mangold’s The Wolverine will tie into Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past as well as whether or not we would see characters from the first three X-films appearing in the flick. There’s a rumor that just hit, that if it turns out to be true, would show that Fox may definitely be connecting the two films.

We Got This Covered reports that Famke Janssen, the actress who played Jean Grey in the first three X-Men films, recently flew to Sydney to shoot a cameo for The Wolverine. Just recently Janssen had stated that she would be interested in reprising the role in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which could mean we may be getting some form of connection between the two films. There is no word however just how big of a cameo appearance it is.

Can’t wait the two weeks to see RZA’s The Man With The Iron Fists? Well, then maybe this animated prequel will hold you over until it’s release. Narrated by RZA, the short follows the Blacksmith (played by RZA) traveling on his path to China and shows us that not all of the fighting is confined to Jungle Village. The animated prequel also establishes some history between the blacksmith and another character that appears in the film.

This prequel side story to ‘The Man with the Iron Fists’ finds the Blacksmith (RZA) on his way to China via a Dutch trading vessel. At a typical port stop, the Blacksmith and the crew have an unfortunate encounter.

The Man With The Iron Fists hits theaters November 2nd.

One of Mark Millar’s project that he will oversee for Fox will be the upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four. Josh Trank has been attached to direct the upcoming film, and Millar has stated thats Trank’s Chronicle was his favorite superhero film last year, and is excited to see what the director will bring to the table.

“You can tell from Chronicle that it was a new way of looking at superheroes, and I think he’s going to apply that same slightly skewed way of looking at heroes to the Fantastic Four, but do it in a way that feels incredibly reverential to the Kirby and Lee stuff.”

Millar went on state that for the Fantastic Four to work properly it really has to be done with the Lee and Kirby prospective. While the current trend for comic movies is to give them a darker feel, don’t expect that one from Marvel’s fantastic family.

“I don’t think you could do Fantastic Four and try and make it grim and gritty.”

It appears that Millar and Trank are going after a different approach than the current trend of movies. I’m pretty excited to see what the two combined can come up with. And I know for one thing that I hope this means we will get the Mole Man, The Moloids and his creatures on the big screen.

Earlier today we posted a piece about director Tim Miller giving an update on the status of the Deadpool big screen adaptation that made it sound like there was nothing really going on with that at the moment. But, with Mark Millar coming in to oversee Fox’s comic book project’s the chance of Wade Wilson hitting the big screen have definitely increased. And it actually sounds like there may be going on with the flick than Miller let us know.

Deadpool creator Robert Liefeld has chimed in on Twitter stating that the departure of former Fox CEO Tom Rothman is one obstacle down on the path to bringing everyone’s favorite Merc With The Mouth to the big screen. Liefeld says that he’s actually already met with Mark Millar & Tim Miller to discuss the project.

But what was the most interesting piece of his Tweets today? Well, Liefeld re-tweeted the following tweet:

Could there be big plans to get re-introduce the character to the big screen after the abomination that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine? It’s quite possible. The script for the film has actually leaked out and been praised across internet forums and there is a bit of test footage that was made that Liefeld has called “Bloody PERFECT.” Fox, the fans have spoken. Make this one happen.

Back when Arrested Development originally aired on Fox, Carl Weathers appeared in three episodes playing a version of himself, who just so happened to also be Tobias’ hilarious acting coach. The upcoming season of the comedy is set to hit Netflix in 2013, and production the new season is already underway. But, what would season four be without the wisdom of Carl Weathers? Who would tell us we could get free refills at Burger King?! Well, thankfully for us we won’t have to worry. That’s right people…Carl Weathers will be back. David Cross revealed to Vulture that:

“All the old friends are back. Carl Weathers is back.”

And the rest of the old friends coming back? Well, that list includes Judy Greer, Henry Winkler, Scott Baio, Mae Whitman, Jeff Garlin, and Liza Minnelli. I’m pretty sure we all can’t wait until Arrested Development returns to us next year via Netflix.

The CW’s Arrow is bringing one of DC Comics’s deadliest assassins front and center in next week’s episode. While Deadshot may not look exactly like he does in the comics, you can tell they took influence from his Arkham City look for this and it looks one hundred times better than that steampunk cowboy we saw on Smallville. Oh, and they made sure and threw in the wrist gun? Awesome. I have a feeling that this episode is going to be even better than the last two as this show continually seems to improve over time. Check out the latest promo for next week’s episode that invites you to “Meet Deadshot”.

Episode 1×03 “Lone Gunmen”—Oliver (Stephen Amell) is surprised when someone shoots and kills one of his targets. As his plan is to bring people to justice vs. outright killing them, Oliver doesn’t appreciate the help and searches for the gunman. He soon learns that the man, Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe), is taking out businessmen who are scheduled to bid at an auction on an energy company and Walter (Colin Salmon) is one of the bidders. Realizing he can’t protect his family and stop Deadshot at the same time, Oliver enlists Detective Lance’s (Paul Blackthorne) help, but his plan has dire consequences. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Tommy (Colin Donnell) get caught in an awkward situation with Oliver. Willa Holland, David Ramsey and Susanna Thompson also star. Guy Bee directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Andrew Kreisberg.

The Spike Lee directed remake of the 2003 South Korean revenge thriller Oldboy, which in turn was based on a manga of the same name, is currently in production as we speak. The film stars Josh Brolin (Men In Black 3), Elizabeth Olsen (Silent House), Sharlto Copley (District 9), James Ransone (Sinister) and Samuel L. Jackson (Do we really need to tell you what you’ve seen him in?) and will be distributed by FilmDistrict.

Up until now it was known that the film would hit theaters in 2013, but no date has previously been set until now. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Oldboy will hit theaters October 11th, 2013.

The synopsis for Spike Lee’s Oldboy:

“An advertising executive (Brolin) who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement for an unknown reasons. When the ad executive is released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. His quest for revenge leads him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker (Olsen) and ultimately to an illusive man (Copley) who allegedly holds the key to his salvation.”

One of the smartest moves that Fox has made regarding their comic book titles was bringing Mark Millar on to oversee their project. An article featured on Digital Spy says that Millar recently gave an interview to SFX about the upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past where he called the the plot of the film “X-Men meets The Terminator”. He also said the following about the film:

“”You’ve got robots, you’ve got time travel, you’ve got superheroes – it’s got everything in one film.”

Robots? Well, I think there’s only one thing that could mean. Sentinels!

Millar also stated that it is “no spoiler on [his] part” to say that the film goes into an apocalyptic future.” He also confirmed that they have definitely increased the budget from the first film. Millar didn’t go on to mention what characters or time periods we will see in the film, but those small tidbits alone are enough to get any X-fan X-cited.

The sequel to Machete, directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Danny Trejo, has been picked up for North American distribution in 2013 by Open Road Films and we also have the first offical image from the film. Rumor is that we can expect the first trailer to be attached to Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

Check out the first official image from Machete Kills as well as the synopsis for the sequel:

Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent MACHETE, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

Not long ago it was revealed that  Shailene Woodley (The Decendents) was in talks to join the cast of the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man as Mary-Jane Watson. Earlier today, it was revealed that the actress had signed on for the lead role in Lionsgate’s adaptation of Veronica Roth’s Divergent. The deal led to speculation that the actress would not have time to play Mary-Jane Watson in the sequel. Seems that isn’t the case at all according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The site reports that Woodley has actually already nabbed the role, which will actually only be a small part in the second film but “blossoms into an integral lead for the planned third movie as the studio seeks to build to the classic “Death of Gwen Stacy” story.” Being that we may end up only seeing her for a minor amount of time in the film, could Webb be bringing to life the classic “Face It Tiger. You Just Hit The Jackpot!” scene?

Now that Warner Bros. has won their case against the Schuster Heir’s for the rights to Superman it seems that the studio can now focus on bringing their various heroes together for the planned Justice League flick.

We already knew this one was in the works, but  apparently a loss yesterday would have meant serious problems for any further use of one their main character’s key mythology on-screen would have been a major issue for the film. But now, according to The LA Times, who cite a “a knowledgeable person not authorized to discuss the matter publicly”, Warner Bros. is moving full speed ahead with the project.

“Warner hopes to shoot the film next year and release it in the summer of 2015. The studio already has a “Justice League” script in the works. Next it needs to attach a director and then cast the lead roles.”

So, summer of 2015 we may see the ultimate super-showdown between Justice League and the sequel to The Avengers in theaters. The site also confirm that WB are taking a reverse approach than Marvel took when it comes to bringing their characters to the big screen. It seems their plan is “to spin out other superheroes into their own movies following”. I’m a little shaky on that one myself. And to be honest, after the box office powerhouse that The Avengers was combined with their Phase Two films keeping people interested in these characters…I definitely can see the sequel dominating the box office again in 2015.

Just days ahead of the release of the trailer of Marvel Studios highly-anticipated Iron Man 3, which could honestly be an understatement, Walt Disney Pictures have released the full synopsis for the film.

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of Tales of Suspense (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with The Invincible Iron Man (#1) in May of 1968.

Iron Man 3 is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures and DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing and Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Charles Newirth, Stan Lee and Dan Mintz are executive producers. The film releases May 3, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

The quite popular Hugo Weaving, who voiced Megatron in all three of the Transformers, recently commented on the franchise in an interview. Well, let’s just say it wasn’t the most positive of comments. The actor stated the following:

“That’s a weird job for me because it honestly was a two-hour voice job, initially. I was doing a play and I actually didn’t have time, anyway. It was one of the only things I’ve ever done where I had no knowledge of it, I didn’t care about it, I didn’t think about it. They wanted me to do it. In one way, I regret that bit. I don’t regret doing it, but I very rarely do something if it’s meaningless. It was meaningless to me, honestly. I don’t mean that in any nasty way. I did it. It was a two-hour voice job, while I was doing other things.”

Earlier today Michael Bay chose to give a response. While Bay doesn’t name any names…it’s pretty obvious who it’s directed towards.

“Do you ever get sick of actors that make $15 million a picture, or even $200,000 for voiceover work that took a brisk one hour and 43 minutes to complete, and then complain about their jobs? With all the problems facing our world today, do these grumbling thespians really think people reading the news actually care about trivial complaints that their job wasn’t “artistic enough” or “fulfilling enough”? I guess The Hollywood Reporter thinks so.

What happened to people who had integrity, who did a job, got paid for their hard work, and just smiled afterward? Be happy you even have a job – let alone a job that pays you more than 98% of the people in America.

I have a wonderful idea for all those whiners: They can give their “unhappy job money” to a wonderful Elephant Rescue. It’s the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Africa. I will match the funds they donate.”

So, I am going to just go ahead and assume that we will not be getting Megatron as the villain in the next Transformers flick.

So, after a very successful pilot episode, did the second episode of Arrow improve from the pilot or struggle to keep up? Well, it definitely did not struggle. I really liked the pilot but within the first ten minutes of this episode, it was pretty much solidified that I would definitely, at the least, be watching the entire first season of Arrow.

The episode kicks off with a great action packed sequence which was very fluid and smooth. Honestly, it was a really strong opening for a TV episode and got you hooked and excited. The action in this episode was great and very well handled. Never too slow. Never too fast. I do feel that the fight with China White (Kelly Hu) felt a little inconclusive but I am glad they left the character around and hope they continue in this fashion to allow him to establish a sort-of rogues gallery with the villains that will be appearing in the series.

Stephen Arnell’s performance continues to be fantastic on the show and i’ll just leave it at that. In the episode we also get to see more of Laurel Lance’s life as an attorney, which wasn’t touched on too much in the pilot, and it definitely shows off that Katie Cassidy is going to be a great part of the show. If you haven’t seen the episode by now I’m not going to ruin it for you, but there’s an easter egg lying in the name of the person she is representing in this episode. One clue: it’s a current DC Comics writer. Another improvement in this episode is that we got to see a bit more of John Diggle in action. We can probably expect this character to end up being a fan-favorite.

Many fans had griped about Oliver’s mother being alive on the show but with each episode her character becomes much more interesting and leaves you hooked with these cliffhangers. Definitely looking forward to finding out what her and John Barrowman’s characters relationship will be all about.

The only complaint I probably had with the episode was how short the flashbacks to the island were. But, other than that I thought this episode was really good and has got me interested and wanting more Arrow. Well, especially after seeing that clip for next week’s episode. Deadshot!

Well, it looks like Ghostbusters 3 will finally start shooting next year after spending plenty of time in what appeared to be a major development hell. Honestly, I was pretty sure the movie would never even see the light of day. Deadline reported on Paramount putting director Ivan Reitman’s Draft Day in turnaround. But also hidden inside the article there’s a little something interesting to take note of:

“Paramount chose not to make it in the small window that Reitman has before he is expected to finally get the long-gestating Ghostbusters reboot in front of the cameras next summer for Sony Pictures (sans Bill Murray). … It would be tough to find room to squeeze in the football film and get done before Reitman goes back to Ghostbusters duty. Paramount insiders tell me that if the film can’t happen in this nearly impossibly short window, the studio could simply hang on to Draft Day, and make it after Reitman and Costner finish their obligations.”

Well, now that they’ve finally given up on Bill Murray it appears that the long talked about movie will finally begin getting underway. Does Sony have a date planned for the threequel? Should we also expect to hear some casting soon? Well, maybe we should wait until they officially announce this one to get too excited here.

Need more Sam Raimi directed horror in your life? Well, it appears you may just get what you want. Raimi has been involved with the remake of  Poltergeist for awhile now, but after some initial confusion over what exactly he would be doing iit was confirmed in April that he would only be producing.  Now it appears Raimi may actually be directing the film.

THR spoke with screenwriter David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit-Hole) and during this chat Scott Feinberg from THR noted that the Poltergeist remake “will be directed by Sam Raimi.” While the article does not have a direct quote from Lindsay-Abaire, Feinberg wrote on Twitter that:

This project was already exiciting with Lindsay-Abaire writing the script and Raimi producing, but if Raimi actually stepped behind the camera to direct? Well, let’s just say this could a remake that surpasses the original…by far. Hopefully we get some form of official announcement soon but for now just thinking about this is exciting.

Warner Bros. has announced that they will be moving up Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Slayer, which was originally titled Jack The Giant Killer, three weeks earlier into theaters than expected. The film will now be released on March 1st, 2013, the date originally held by Elysium.

So, why the new title for the film? Well, apparently it’s said that this title is more family friendly. I don’t know about that one, but it definitely doesn’t take away my interest in the film starring Nicholas Hoult, Ewan McGregor, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane and Bill Nighy.

What, you really thought he was going to stay locked up? It really shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that Cyke is back and looking more bad-ass than ever in this unlettered preview for Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen’s All New X-Men #2.  Bendis clearly has big plans for the character in this series and it appears that Scott and his team are going to be out there helping the new mutants popping up after AvX.

We’re exactly six days away from the first official trailer for Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 dropping. The highly anticipated first film in Marvel Studios  “Phase Two” has fans excited beyond belief. But, do you want to see a preview for the film early? Well, thanks to Marvel you have a chance to.  Marvel has unveiled a new Facebook “Fan Power” feature on the official Iron Man page and all that’s needed to unlock this sneak preview is that fans “re-energize Tony’s Arc reactor.” How do you do that? By simply clicking the like button here.

Tony Stark IS Iron Man! To re-energize Tony’s Arc reactor, “Like” the official Iron Man Facebook page. Every “Like” recharges Tony’s power supply. Once the Arc reactor reaches maximum capacity, you’ll be the first to see a special sneak preview of Marvel’s Iron Man 3!

A new trailer for Christopher McQuarrie’s Jack Reacher has been released. The new trailer shows off more of Tom Cruise as the bad-ass Reacher. Some people may not be buying it but I am actually looking forward to seeing Cruise take on something different than he usually does. The film also stars Robert Duvall, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, and David Oyelowo.

When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.

Jack Reacher opens December 21st.

Production has recently begun on Spike Lee’s Oldboy, a remake of the 2003 South Korean film which was in turn based on a manga. It was announced not long ago that Nate Parker had joined the cast of the revenge thriller, but it seems now that he has dropped out of Oldboy due to his commitment to the Liam Neeson film Non-Stop.

Variety reports that the role has been filled by James Ransone, who you may know best as Ziggy from The Wire and was most recently seen in the horror film Sinister. There’s not much known about the character that Ransone will be playing, other than that he is a doctor who works with Elizabeth Olsen’s character.

Oldboy currently has no release date set, but is expected to hit theaters in 2013.

Universal Pictures have released the official plot synopsis for Jeff Wadlow’s KICK-ASS 2. The synopsis reveals a few new details about showing some of the differences between the film and the comic series.

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation. When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy.

Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes. Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.

WWE champion and longtime comic book fan Phil Brooks, who you guys probably know better as CM Punk, will be writing the intro to Marvel’s upcoming hardcover edition of Avengers vs X-Men. A quite vocal supporter of the comic industry, Brooks said this about the opportunity:

“I worked really hard to get to where I’m at and it’s cool to be afforded opportunities like this. To me, it’s hard work paying off and I’m having a lot of fun right now. There’s good and there’s bad, but if you don’t stop to smell the roses, so to speak, it’s all for naught. If I had to describe my writing style, it’s very sarcastic and self-deprecating. You’ll be able to tell it in the foreword.”

Marvel Editor In Chief Axel Alonso also commented:

“Who understands the theatrical nuances of a good smack down more than WWE champ CM Punk, who brings the same muscle and heart he beings to the ring to his brilliant intro for Avengers vs. X-Men.”

The quite insane Crossed is going to be coming to life and may also be hitting the big screen. Comic Book Resources report that Garth Ennis, the man behind the series, will be writing and directing a series of live-action Crossed webisodes with a plan is to follow these up with a  Crossed feature film. The film will also written and directed by Ennis and the plan is to begin filming in the spring, with a debut for the webisodes later on next year. Ennis said that the webisodes will serves as “little vignettes” into the Crossed world.

Unfamiliar with the series? Crossed is grim. It’s not quite a zombie story but it’s also not quite a post-apocalyptic tale.

In the blink of an eye, humanity is lost, and the Crossed are upon us. Men, women, and children alike fall victim to the mystery infection that makes killers out of parents and rapists out of lovers. Ruthless, berserk, and evil beyond measure, these cackling demons spread their plague across the Earth, bringing humanity to near-extinction. Now, a small band of survivors make their cautious way across a deserted America, existing in a state of constant terror. The only thing they have in common is their determination to survive… but in this frightening new world, survival has a cost all its own. How far will they go to stay alive, and can they do so without become monsters themselves?

While it may not be the best quality footage, the Evil Dead teaser trailer shown at New York Comic-Con has leaked out online. If you weren’t on board already…you’re going to be after seeing this. But, with the team of Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Fede Alvarez behind this one…why would we ever have any doubts? It looks like we’re in for a bloody good time next year.

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up long-dormant demons that possess each of those friends in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Evil Dead hits theaters April 12, 2013!

The first teaser has arrived for the remake of the 1976 horror classic based on Steven King’s Novel. Chloe Moretz takes on the role that Sissy Spacek made famous and aims to wreak bloody havoc on a new generation.

“The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday, Youth in Revolt), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde, The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (newcomer Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”

Carrie hits theaters March 15, 2013.

This January will see the final issues hitting the stands for Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E., Blue Beetle, Grifter, and Legion Lost. G.I. Combat will also be ending in December, but is being replaced the following month with a new cosmic series from Keith Giffen called Threshold.

Geoff Johns and David Finch’s Justice League Of America will replace one of these cancelled titles but what about the other three? It’s highly unlikely that we will see Scott Snyder and Jim Lee’s Man Of Steel by that time…so does DC have two books that they’ve yet to announce or are we about to have the New 48?

Hey, it’s time to get in the holiday spirit…right?

Sony Pictures has chosen to move the release date for Neill Blomkamp’s sci-fi flick Elysium to August 9, 2013. That spot was up until today the release date for one of their other big releases, Jose Padhila’s RoboCop, which has been moved back to February 7, 2014. That August date is roughly around the same time that Sony released Blomkamp’s first feature District 9 back in 2009.

District 9 went on to gross $37.4 million on opening weekend and went on to bring in roughyl $200M-plus worldwide. Sony definitely has high expectations for Elysium which was originally set to hit theaters in March. This is actually a smart move on Sony’s part in regards to both films. It will allow Elysium to bring in more of that summer box office money while the RoboCop team is given more time to market and test the film and possibly go back for re-shoots if needed. So, uh by the way…when should we expect to actually see that Elysium trailer Sony?
