Horror Movie Night Episode 96: Howling II – Your Sister is a Werewolf (1985)

We joke a lot about coke-fueled 80s cinema, but we may have finally found the ultimate example of what a drug fever dream could lead to – 1985’s insane lycanthrope ‘n little people extravaganza, Howling 2: Your Sister Is A Werewolf! Between the shots of Christopher Lee smirking in a pair of awkward new wave sunglasses, on-top-of-the-clothes love scenes while the whole town smells sex in the air like creeps, werewolf threesomes, threats of forced werewolf oral and possibly pervy gargoyle staffs, Stiran struts around in as little pleather as humanly possible in what looks like reused heavy metal video shoots. This just scratches the surface of the depths this film sinks to, in the most ridiculous ways possible. We hope you like Devo, because the house band sure seems to on this episode of Horror Movie Night!

Horror Movie Night Episode 88: The Curse 2 – The Bite (1986)

You ever watch a movie where someone’s hand is mutating into a crazy snake monster and just think to yourself, “dude shouldn’t have jacked it so much…”? No? Well this week you may find yourself thinking just that as we wrap ourselves around the sequel-in-name-only Curse 2: The Bite (1989). Screaming Mad George isn’t a guest on this episode, but Matt does his best impression of him and if you close your eyes and dip your hand in a bowl of room-temperature KY, it feels like he’s really there! Bring your weird Amish accent and terrible singing voice, we’ll be downing all the fly-beers we can stomach on this week’s Horror Movie Night!

Geekscape Mobile: Watch The First Trailer For ‘Alto’s Odyssey’

Briefly: I can’t wait for this.

I’m having an absolute blast with a myriad of recent mobile titles. Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, WWE Champions, Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links, and more have slowly drained my wallet while offering hours upon hours of small screen fun.

With all of the new, flashy titles that are constantly releasing, there’s a beautiful little Journey-esque title that I can’t stop myself from coming back to – Alto’s Adventure.

Alto’s Adventure is a super chill, super fun endless snowboard ride. The game took the mobile world by storm back in 2015, and back in December its developer noted that a sequel was now in development.

Today, developer Built By Snowman released the first teaser trailer for the game, noting a Summer 2017 release, and showing off some absolutely beautiful, still Journey-esque effects.

If you’ve missed out on the first game, I implore you to give it a shot (and apologize that you’ll be saying “Just one more run,” for the rest of the day.

Rockstar Confirms! ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Announced! 2017 Release!

After a couple of days of teasing, Rockstar has finally announced their next big venture.

As people expected, It looks as though the developer will be heading back to the old west for some unfinished business as Red Dead Redemption 2 was finally announced. Very little is known about the game at this time, but what we do know is that the game is releasing in fall of 2017 and will be premiering a trailer on October 20th.Honestly, while this is cool, we all know that everyone was secretly hoping this would be a sequel to everyone’s favorite Rockstar series of all time. Here’s The First Teaser For Shane Black’s ‘Predator’ Film!

Briefly: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was actually pretty cool, but I have a hard time thinking about anything other than Iron Man 3 when I think of director Shane Black.

Somehow, I was unaware that Black had been tapped to direct the next Predator film, and while I’ll definitely reserve judgement until I see the feature, I just hope that it doesn’t feel like a weird, crappy buddy cop comedy (or like any sort of comedy, really).

The very first teaser image for the sequel has just hit the web, noting a probably title of The Predator (having just one Predator again would be freaking awesome), and that ‘You’ll never see him coming’. The script is coming from RoboCop 3 writer Fred Dekker.

The project is still shrouded in mystery (or some sort of cloaking device) at this point, but we’ll be sure to share more The Predator news as soon as it hits the web. For now, take a look at the teaser image below, and be sure to let us know what you think!

Watch The Final Trailer For ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1’

Briefly: We’re now less than one month away from seeing the first half of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, and Lionsgate has debuted the final trailer for the highly anticipated film.

As disappointed as I was in the first film in the series, I loved every second of last year’s Catching Fire. As such, I can’t wait to see where this story goes, as I haven’t read a single word of the series of novels. I’ve heard mixed feelings of excitement and resentment from fans of the novels, but it’d be hard to deny how cool this trailer is.

The video features some pretty incredible new footage that we haven’t seen before. I really don’t want to give away too much, but you can take a look at the video below, and let us know if you’re excited! The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 hits theatres on November 21st!

Briefly: A new teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 has just hit the web.

The teaser states that “Never have we been more unified as a nation. The Capitol and the districts are bound together in solidarity, striving to forge a stronger future. To commemorate this resolve, the Capitol mandates your viewing of President Snow’s Second Panem Address: “Unity.”

It doesn’t deliver exactly the message that Snow wants it to, as before too long, Jeffrey Wright’s Beetee takes over the transmission.

As disappointed as I was in the first film in the series, I loved every second of last year’s Catching Fire.As such, I can’t wait to see where this story goes. I haven’t read the series, but I’m really looking forward to seeing where things are going (and that love triangle, oh man).

First ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ Teaser Offers A Warning From President Snow!

Briefly: The first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part One has just hit the web, in the form of a Capitol Address from President Snow.

In the video, Snow offers a stark warning to those who go agains the Capitol, and delves into a speech about how important it is that all of Panem is united. After all, if the districts are the body, then the Capitol is the heart, and… I don’t think that anyone but the Capitol believes that.

As disappointed as I was in the first film in the series, I loved every second of last year’s Catching Fire. As such, I can’t wait to see where this story goes. I haven’t read the series, but I’m really looking forward to seeing where things are going (and that love triangle, oh man).

Ray Fisher Cast As Cyborg In Zack Snyder’s ‘Man Of Steel’ Sequel!

Briefly: The cast of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel has grown yet again!

I wasn’t expecting even more heroes to show up in the film, but alas, Cyborg has just been cast. At what point can we call a spade a spade, and say that this is the Justice League movie that everyone’s been waiting for? Could that be exactly why Warner Bros. hasn’t told us the official title yet?

Theatre actor Ray Fisher has been chosen for the role, who was apparently also testing for JJ Abrams for Star Wars Episode VII.

Fisher, of course, joins Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, and more, and the film hits theatres on May 6, 2016.

What do you think of the casting choice? With the amount of heroes we’ll be seeing in the film, can we really call it Man of Steel 2 or Batman vs. Superman? Do you think that Snyder and co. can properly introduce this many characters?

Richard Donner Says That A ‘Goonies’ Sequel Is Coming

Briefly: It’s not often that we post news from TMZ, but this is just too good not to share.

Richard Donner has just confirmed that a sequel to 1985’s The Goonies is coming, and that hopefully all of the original film’s stars will return.

It’s unknown whether the actors will play the same roles as they did all those years back, or if they’ll be featured in cameo roles instead.

As soon as we know more, we’ll be sure to let you know all about it. In any case, are you in for the sequel, or would you rather your childhood memories be left alone?

Briefly: We’re now just a few weeks away from the highly anticipated release of Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and a new featurette for the film has just debuted online.

In the video, The Walking Dead VFX Supervisor Greg Nicotero and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 VFX Supervisor Jerome Chan chat about… well, what else? VFX of course!

With The Walking Dead‘s fourth season coming to a close next Sunday, and The Amazing Spider Man 2 launching just a few week’s later (not to mention Captain America: The Winter Soldier next week), it’s clearly a fantastic time to be a geek. Briefly: I’ve had pretty mixed feelings for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 marketing thus far; we’ll get a great trailer, followed by a poor one, followed by a great clip, and then a stupid on, and so on. I’m happy to say that the film’s just-released final trailer falls in the positive category.

It features a ton of new footage, and it also gives us our first non-still look at the still stupid-looking Green Goblin, as well as the actually-pretty-cool-in-motion Rhino.

The (fairly low-res) stills give us a good look at the face of our new Green Goblin among other things. I still really dislike the way that the villain looks (redditor lixik had a pretty great description, stating that he “looks like Frankie Muniz trying to play gollum.”)

New Clip From ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Pits Spidey Vs. Electro!

Briefly: Sony has debuted a new clip from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (between all of the trailers and clips, we must have almost seen the entire movie by now), this time showing Spidey trying to reason with Electro in Times Square.

The scene certainly looks intense (aside from Jamie Foxx’s electric blue, which I’m still having a hard time getting used to), and is one of the better clips that we’ve seen from the film so far. Take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Following the all-too-revealing international trailer from a few weeks back, Sony today debuted a new featurette for the highly anticipated The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The featurette digs into Gwen and Peter’s tough relationship, and breaks down the Gwen-needs-to-leave-but-doesn’t-want-to-leave subplot of the film, as well as the fact that Peter feels bad for breaking his promise to the late Captain Stacey.

A New ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ International Trailer Probably Reveals Too Much!

Briefly: Following up on that Green Goblin image from a few days back, Sony Pictures has just debuted a new, 3-minute long international trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The video contains a ton of new footage and a lot of new plot revelations, so if you’re trying to head to the theatre surprised, I’d recommend that you avoid the video. It also contains way too much dubstep for any movie trailer, but other than that, it’s a pretty cool watch.

New ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Still Gives Us Our Best Look At Green Goblin Yet!

Briefly: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is just a few months away at this point (the film hits theatres on May 2nd), and strangely enough, Sony has only really shown off one of the film’s three villains.

We’ve seen plenty of Jamie Foxx’s Electro, but both Paul Giamatti’s Rhino and Dane Dehaan’s Green Goblin have been all but ignored. Today, the studio debuted a new still from the film, and it features our best look at the new Green Goblin yet!

Check Out Today’s Super Bowl Spot For ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, PLUS A New Trailer!

Briefly: Sony teased us with the first half of their Amazing Spider-Man 2 Super Bowl spot last Thursday. Today, the studio both completed the spot, and also released a sweet, sweet three minute and fifty second long “Villains Unite” trailer for the film.

The spot may reveal some important details about the feature (like the apparent fate of Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacey), and the trailer delves into the origins of Jamie Foxx’s Max Dillon. While I didn’t really like the film’s first trailer, I thoroughly enjoyed everything that Sony released today.
