For the past few weeks we’ve heard plenty of rumors regarding who would direct the highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII. At the same time, a screenwriter for the next chapter in the sci-fi franchise is still being sought. According to Vulture, the current leading contender to work on the films’s screenplay is Academy Award winning writer Michael Arndt.

Arndt has previously worked on Little Miss Sunshine, Pixar’s Toy Story 3 as well as the screenplay for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Ardnt has written a 40 to 50 page treatment for the film and will most likely pen a draft for the project. The site reports that the film is looking at a 2014 shoot to get it into theaters in 2015.

So, what about the director? Ardnt’s treatment will be hitting the desks of many of the top directors out there including Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams and Brad Bird. We’re not saying that any of these directors are interested in the project but Disney apparently is looking to offer the film to the big directors first.

Ardny is well known as a Star Wars fan and has close relationship with Disney’s Pixar. So it shouldn’t be no surprise that Lucasfilm and Disney would have an interest in him writing the next chapter in the Star Wars saga. As prior stated in these matters…keep an eye for official announcements soon.

The latest Marvel NOW! title revealed is Fearless Defenders, a new ongoing series from Cullen Bunn (Venom) and Will Sliney (Farscape). The new title is an all-female team book, with the only two members revealed at the moment being Misty Knight and Valkyrie. Dani Moonstar will also be a member of the team with the rest of the roster being filled out over the course of time. The story will also be featuring a female main antagonist that’s a creator creation from Bunn. Take a look at Mark Brooks cover for the first issue below.

Since the start of the New 52, John Constantine has been a part of the new universe with Justice League: Dark. The character still maintained his Vertigo title Hellblazer as well. Currently that title is DC’s longest running title at the moment.

However, it’s been revealed earlier today that with issue #300 in February, Constantine’s Vertigo series will come to an end and we will see Constantine launched as part of the New 52. The 300th issue of Hellblazer will be written by Peter Milligan with art from Giuseppe Camuncoli and Stefano Landini. Constantine will be writen by Robert Venditti (X-O Manowar) with Renato Guedes (Superman: New Krypton) handling the art. Venditti stated:

“He’s going to be the same age that he is in Justice League Dark and the same character that people know and recognize – the drinking and smoking, the con man aspect of him – that’s going to be very much part of the series.

He is devious, he is underhanded and he’s a very big-picture oriented guy. When you’re dealing with things like demons running loose on earth, you need to be that way.”

This week’s Arrow was probably the one that fans were looking forward to the most. And the hype was lived up to because it was easily the best episode since the pilot, and probably the best of the series thus far. “Damaged” picks up after the end of last week’s episode and the events that went down. The primary focus of this episode is proving Oliver’s innocence after his arrest last week. And there’s definitely some unexpected plot twists as we learn one piece of Oliver’s master plan.

The most impressive part of this episode was that it didn’t reply heavily on the action but heavily on personal drama. Writers  Wendy Mericle and Ben Sokolowski’s script for the episode is fantastic and moved quickly but allowed scenes the time to breathe and characters to interact. The dialogue in this episode, which has been a bit of a problem here and there, was noticably improved upon. We also saw quite a few sub-plots developed this episode. The primary of the two being the romance between Oliver and Thea and the bro-mance between Oliver and Diggle.

While the episodes high point’s were the drama…the action was still there. The big scene was definitely Deathstroke vs Yao Fei on the island and probably the best action sequence the show has offered so far. The very well choreographed scene does leave you wanting more though and hopefully we’re going to be getting it very soon.

Overall, the episode was definitely the best of the series so far and balanced a good amount of both drama and action. We still have no idea who John Barrowman’s character is but after this week you can definitely assume he’s definitely going to be someone huge. Trust me, we’ve got our fingers crossed that someone calls him Maxwell Lord at some point.

The comic references and easter eggs you might have missed:

Edward Fyers: The characterappears in the comics as Eddie Fyers. In the comics he is a skilled mercenary and actually one of Green Arrow’s close allies.

Kate Spencer: Similar to the show, Kate Spencer was a federal prosecutor. She eventually became the Manhunter character.

– Fishnets – In the episode, Laurel makes a reference to wearing fishnets at a Halloween party.  The most iconic part of Black Canary’s costume are her fishnet stockings.

Yet another DC character will be making an appearance in Starling City. The 11th episode of Arrow will see Ted Gaynor, a top officer in the United States Marine Corps and former member of the Blackhawk Squadron in the comics, played by Ben Browder. The character is being described on the show as:

“Diggle’s commanding officer from his first tour in Afghanistan, who now works as a bodyguard for Blackhawk Squad Protection Group in Starling City. As a series of armored truck robberies strike the city, Gaynor proves to be a polarizing figure between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey)”.

Browder is probably best known to you guys for appearing in Farscape and Stargate SG-1. Browder will be seen in the episode “Trust But Verify”, airing early 2013.

A brand new full-length trailer for Kim Jee-Woon’s The Last Stand starring Arnold Scwarzennger has been released. This new trailer definitely seems quite a bit lighter than the last trailer and the film actually looks like a lot of fun. Oh, and keep an eye for a certain sword making an appearance towards the end of the trailer.

Action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his much-anticipated return to the big screen in Korean director Kim Jee-woon’s hard-hitting US directorial debut, THE LAST STAND. After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy. With the help of a fierce band of lawless mercenaries led by the icy Burrell (Peter Stormare), Cortez begins racing towards the US-Mexico border at 250 mph in a specially-outfitted Corvette ZR1 with a hostage in tow.

The Last Stand hits theaters January 18, 2013.

Marvel relaunched another very popular character today as part of Marvel NOW! Tony Stark is back with a new creative team and a few news toys. And this first story arc references back to a story from years ago: Extremis. Obviously, Marvel is introducing the popular storyline to those who have not read it and is giving people an idea of it just in time for the release of Shane Black’s Iron Man 3.

The story starts by seeing Tony going back to some of his playboy ways. However, this is quickly brought to an end after he receives a special message from Maya Hansen, the inventor of the Extremis formula. It seems that she was kidnapped and forced to recreate it for A.I.M. before being killed. So, now it’s up to Tony to get these demons back into the bottle.

This is definitely a solid first issue. The story is interesting and the only problem that I can really find is that sometimes it takes a little longer to get to the action than you’d expect. I don’t mean that in a negative sense because the issue is hardly boring at all. There’s a lot going on in this issue that is obviously setting things up for what’s to come but at times it seems to drag a bit. Kieron Gillen does handle the writing job overall pretty well especially when it comes to writing Tony’s character. If there was anyone right to take over on Iron Man… it’s definitely Gillen.

As far as the artwork goes I really do like Greg Land on this book. There are plenty of people who dislike that he uses quite a bit of photo reference in his art. However, with the team of Greg Land on pencils, Jay Leisten as inker and Guru eFX on colors, this is a gorgeous title. The best scenes of course come when Tony is armored up and let’s the suit rip.

Final verdict: The first issue of the new series isn’t mind blowing but it is definitely a good jumping on point for new readers as well as something that older readers can enjoy. The series definitely seems to have quite a bit of promise and I am on board to see where it goes. Hopefully the story picks up after this introduction. A solid issue overall though.

Grade: 3.5/5

Love him or hate him, it’s undeniable that Deadpool has gone on to become one of Marvel’s most popular characters over the years. Many characters like Wade Wilson seem to hit a popular point with fans and then see a decline over time. That definitely hasn’t been a problem for ol’ Wade.

Some of his fans weren’t too fond of his last run with writer Daniel Way (who will still be writing Deadpool in Thunderbolts… sorry guys!). Myself, I am a huge Deadpool fan and overall I found his run to be just alright. It wasn’t bad but at the same time it wasn’t great. So, when Marvel announced that they’d be relaunching the series with the creative team of Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn and Tony Moore… well, to say that I was interested would be quite the understatement.

Based on this first issue alone, they definitely chose the right guys for the job here. The first story arc alone is quite possibly going to be one of the most offensive and out of this world stories that Marvel has released in quite some time. If you haven’t read the issue or seen anything about it I am going to keep this short: zombie president is out to destroy the USA and start it from scratch. Trust me, when you get to the final few pages of this issue you’re going to be wanting more.

Hands down this was one of the most fun comics I have read in months… years even. The jokes are funny, the violence is ridiculous and just out there and it really returns Wade Wilson to the tone that the fans have been wanting. I think this was one of the main complaints about the last run, to be honest. Fans wanted less goofy and something more along the lines of how the character was treated in Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force.

Now, while the story is awesome… the thing that really stands out here is Tony Moore’s artwork. Who better to do a story about zombie presidents than one of the creators of The Walking Dead? And honestly, I can say that this is some of my favorite work by him. Who would have thought that one day I would call a Deadpool comic… beautiful? Not me. But there’s so much detail in each panel of this book that I don’t think any other word would be right to use.

Final verdict: The first wave of Marvel NOW! books is setting the bar high already. This was a perfect relaunch for the character and it definitely is going to be drawing in some new readers. If it’s not on your pull list yet… add it. In Wade we trust!

A short while ago it was revealed that Matthew Vaughn had decided to step down as the director for X-Men: Days Of Future Past to work on the big screen adaptation of Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons The Secret Service. This one was definitely a surprise and left some fans a little disappointed. Now, a rumor is spreading around that the director has left the project was to work on Star Wars: Episode VII. So, what is the real reason Vaughn stepped down? In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Mark Millar revealed that there was a very good reason for the decision.

“We thought Matthew was going to do X-Men first, but we found out there were actually a few imitators of ‘Secret Service’ in the works. People think you’re lying when you say you’re not trying to get your comics made into movies so quickly, but the two reasons it happens like that is first because it’s the best ad for the comic you’ll ever have. And for me, selling the book is the most important thing. The second reason is because people are always trying to rip you off. Somebody will start to work on a spec screenplay about your idea. There are three other projects I know of now about a James Bond kind of guy taking a street kid and turning him into a spy. Three screenplays were already going through Hollywood about this! So Matthew and I said, ‘[frick] this. We’re not letting anyone steal our ideas.'”

Not too long ago it was rumored that Mark Wahlberg would be joining the cast of the fourth Transformers movie. Word spread quickly but just as quick Michael Bay came out denied the speculation, saying it was for an entirely different film. Now it appears that Bay has actually changed his mind and we may just see Wahlberg rolling out with the Autobots after all.

“I squashed a rumor that was on the internet last week. It was about Mark Walhberg. Mark was rumored to be starring in Transformers 4. We are working on another movie together, not T4. I had such a great time working with Mark on Pain and Gain, and he gave such a great performance – well let’s say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas. We are at the inception of our story process right now on T4. Let’s say some ideas are gaining traction with me and my writer – so I’m here to say thanks internet chatter.”

Not too long ago we reported that Tom Hanks had been cast as Walt Disney in the upcoming Saving Mr. Banks. The film will follow Walt Disney’s fourteen-year courtship to acquire the film rights to P.L. Travers popular novel, Mary Poppins. Filming on the film began recently and an image was snapped of Hanks on set. Check out the first look at Hanks as Walt Disney.

Just yesterday word spread around that internet that Nicolas Cage had been confirmed as a cast member of the upcoming The Expendables 3. Well, it appears that we have all been fooled. That’s never happened before right? Sylvester Stallone has contacted Deadline to state that those reports were false and he has “has no knowledge of Nic Cage joining Expendables 3.” Which, kind of sucks to be honest.

Apparently someone set that was pretending to be Stallone posted a message on a site claiming to be Sly Stallone’s Facebook page. This message included confirmation that Cage was on board for the third chapter in the franchise. Well, hopefully they can get the Cage Rage on board at some point. Come on, you know you want it just as much as I do.

According to The Huffington Post, Coldplay’s drummer Will Champion will appear in the third season of Game Of Thrones, Champion shouldn’t have much trouble playing this role due to the fact that he will playing… well, a drummer. The site doesn’t have any more info on his character.

Due to the fact that HBO has been looking for musicians to film a large party scene for the third season could they be filming the significant and controversial chapter from George R.R. Martin’s third novel known as the “Red Wedding”? Guess we’re going to have to wait and find out.

The trailer for Marc Forster’s (Quantum of Solace) World War Z is  set to debut on Thursday. Can’t wait? Well, you’re going to have to. But following the trailer preview on Entertainment Tonight yesterday, they have unveiled a teaser poster for the film as well as launching the official website which you can visit here.

The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane, who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.

World War Z hits theaters June 21st, 2013.

It has been revealed that DC Comics villain Count Vertigo is set to make his small screen debut in Arrow early next year. This incarnation of the character is set to be very different than the comic book version of the character. Sources are indicating that the CW series will be giving him both a new name and appearance. In the episode we will see “the deadly new drug that becomes all the rage in Starling City in the Big Bad’s introductory episode will be called Vertigo!”

However, while they are making changes it is thought that his powers will remain intact. The character is being described as “truly scary and nightmarish,” and is “Oliver’s deadliest adversary to date.” Now the big question is…who is going to be playing the character?

After the success of last year’s The Muppets, it’s no surprise that Walt Disney Pictures greenlit a sequel very quickly. Just last week it was revealed that Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) was set to play an Interpol agent in the film. The sequel is being described as a comedy caper set in Europe.

James Bobin is returning to direct and co-write the film with Nicholas Stoller. Sadly though Jason Segel, who both starred in and co-wrote the first movie, won’t be involved as far as the production but may appear as a cameo. Just today it was revealed that the film is set to hit theaters December 20th, 2013.

The Muppets 2 will be filmed at Pinewood Studio in London from late January until some time in April. The film will feature brand-new songs by Bret McKenzie and may feature a brand-new Muppets in the cast as well. Yes, that means more than just one. Expect more casting announcements for the film very soon.

Your wallet may not like you after you leave your shop.

The world was shocked last week when Disney and George Lucas announced that Lucas had sold Lucasfilm studio, which includes the rights to Star Wars and most of its characters, to the company. Now, it appears that Disney has possibly turned their attention to buying another company with even more film and toy opportunities for them.

According to MTV, Disney has been in contact with Hasbro about acquiring them and at the moment it’s just talks. But apparently these talks are serious enough that we could see an announcement made any day that the media giant has purchased another company.

Normally, deals like this would take time but Disney has been moving quite quickly to get these deals done. Rumor is that the Lucas deal only took them roughly around six months. With the purchase of Hasbro, Disney would gain the G.I. Joe and Transformers properties. Yes, this means that you may not see any more Michael Bay directed Transformers films after the fourth film comes out. As of the moment none of this is confirmed but that could very well change very soon. However, for now…take this one with a grain of salt.

Earlier today DC announced that starting with issue #17 Green Arrow will be getting a new creative team. Jeff Lemire (Animal Man) and Andrea Sorrentino (I, Vampire) will be taking over on the title.

DC also revealed today that they will be launching two new titles very soon. The first title will be Vibe (yes, really) from Andrew Kreisberg (the writer behind Fringe and Arrow) and artist Pete Woods (X-Men: Deadly Genesis). The second new series will be Katana from Ann Nocenti (Green Arrow) and Alex Sanchez (30 Days of Night: Spreading The Disease). I’m definitely interested in Lemire on Green Arrow. The others? Not so much.

I’m pretty sure all of us over at Geekscape are fans of the action packed The Expendables films. Well, minus one person who I shall not name. The movies bring together some of the best actors in the action genre and offer a tongue in cheek nod to the genre which ruled the box office of many of our childhood and teenage years.

A short while ago it was rumored that Nicolas Cage, Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford were all on Sylvester Stallone’s radar to be a part of the third outing for The Expendables. Well, today on Facebook, Stallone issued the following statement about the planned third installment, confirming that work is moving ahead on the sequel, a reply to the critics of the films and also confirming one of the new names involved.

We are preparing the film with the same passion and commitment as the previous two. We have confirmed Nicolas Cage, a master actor who gives a veneer intellectual group. Hopefully we can realize to Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Mickey Rourke. That is the great mission of the producer. We will continue with the same narrative scheme, the agility and the frenzy, which are inherent to the saga. What will definitely be the last? I can not guarantee. In principle it would be two deliveries, but the affection of the people encouraged us to work on a third. I guess as long as we amused ourselves by offering fun and people, we can continue playing ‘The Expendables’. For now we are not as expendable as it should and as some critics want.

Are you ready for another action-packed outing for Barney Ross and his team? I know that I definitely am.

Expect a lot of rumors to surface when it comes to Star Wars: Episode VII until any official announcements begin to get made. The biggest question that is surrounding this film is who will be directing. Last week I did a list of directors who should direct the next film and it appears that one of the names on that list has surfaced in connection to the film. According to Collider, while this rumor has not been confirmed, X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn may actually be in talks to direct the next chapter in the Star Wars saga.

I’m hearing that Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kick-Ass, Stardust, Layer Cake, and X-Men: First Class, is in talks with Lucasfilm to helm Star Wars: Episode VII. My sources tell me this is the main reason he dropped out of the X-Men sequel (which Bryan Singer is now directing).

So, could this be the real reason Vaughn left the sequel to X-Men: First Class? Quite possibly. Do I think Vaughn would be a fantastic choice to breathe fresh air into this franchise while keeping the things we love about it intact? Definitely. With plans to release Episode VII in 2015 we should definitely be expecting some form of official news regarding the film in the coming months.

The massively-popular television show from the 1980’s has been rumored to be getting the big screen treatment for quite some time now. Rumor around the block is that New Line Cinema has hired Australian director James Wan (Saw, Insidious) to bring Mac to the big screen. Currently filing this in the rumor department at the moment though because I can’t seem to find any word of it elsewhere.

With the series being re-aired on the Cloo TV as well a five-issue mini-series…could MacGuyver be making a comeback? James Wan has gone on to state that he was a big fan of the show growing up and the show’s creator, Lee David Zlotoff, has stated that he likes James Wan’s take on the material.

His vision for the film sounds almost identical to mine so I’m excited.

So, will we see Richard Dean Anderson reprise his role as MacGyver? I’m going to guess the answer that is probably no. But hopefully we can at least get a cameo?

Back in 2009 Jim Dorey of the blog, Marketsaw, claimed that Lucasfilm were already working on Star Wars: Episodes VII, VIII & IX. Well, now that this has turned out to be true the blog has posted even more information from their “source”. While, this could turn out be completely false, it definitely does sound interesting.

According to the source, the new trilogy will be reworked versions of what George Lucas was planning all the way back to when he made the original films. Apparently, this new set of films will follow the same tone of the original trilogy. We will see Luke Skywalker as a key character and apparently Mark Hamill is already signed on as well as many of “the original trilogy cast” with Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, C3PO and R2D2 set to appear. One key point that the source revealed was the Empire was definitely not destroyed at the end of Return Of The Jedi.

Another interesting bit of information that was revealed was that Disney has a very interesting short list of directors that includes:

– Steven Speilberg (I shouldn’t have to tell you what he has done)

While he is not the new generation that Lucas talked about taking over, Spielberg has said in the past that he’d like a shot at directing a Star Wars film.

– Neil Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium)

– Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men, Gravity)

– Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass, First Class)

– Darren Arnofsky (The Fountain, Noah)

– Joss Whedon (Serenity, The Avengers)

But with this one he made sure to point out not to hold your breath as far as directing Episode VII…but that he may actually play another part in it.

So, while this source did indeed reveal three years ago that we would be getting another trilogy…I would definitely file these in the rumor department for the moment. However, I have been proven wrong before. So we’re going to have to wait and see. Remember, 2015 isn’t that far, far away.

It appears Cyclops and his Extinction team will be getting their own title next February. The latest Marvel NOW! teaser seems to indicate that Uncanny X-Men will be getting relaunched with an all-new #1 from the creative team of Brian Michael Bendis and Chris Bachalo. If you haven’t been reading AvX Consequences…you better start catching up now.

While Marvel Studios “Phase Two” has yet to begin, people are already wondering what exactly “Phase Three” will bring us. Both Doctor Strange and Black Panther have long been rumored to to be hitting the big screen eventually from Marvel Studios.

Now, in a recent interview Stan Lee says that you can definitely except to see Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme coming to the big screen and a Black Panther film IS indeed being developed. Could one of these be the secret film project that Joe Quesada is working on?

“Oh they are all being made into movies! I can tell you there will definitely be a Dr. Strange movie! They are working on Antman, which requires really small cameras! Black Panther is being developed, one of my favorites…the Inhumans…All the hero’s will eventually be made into movies.”

This isn’t the first time Stan The Man has talked about these project before. But in the past Lee only stated that these were being considered for adaptation. A Inhumans film was actually talked about by Kevin Feige in the past before any word of Guardians Of The Galaxy was announced. Could that be the cosmic movie of “Phase Three”?

Lee also spoke a small amount about his Executive Producing responsibilities, and stated that really doesn’t do anything.

“I have very little control. I don’t see the script, occasionally I will have lunch with the director or a star, like the guy making Antman,I don’t remember his name- I don’t remember names, or Robert Downey Jr., for Ironman and we talk about the characters.”

Lee went on to explain that the only time he actually has anything to do with the film is his cameos and just like us he’s a fan that gets excited to see these films for the first times at their premieres. When asked about how he felt about the movies:

“I love them! I feel like an actor! I can’t wait to be in the credits and also think that the Oscars should add a category for “best cameo”! But wait until you see my cameo is Ironman 3. It’s the best one so far!”

It was revealed a short while back that Helena Bertinelli aka The Huntress would be joining Oliver Queen in the CW’s Arrow this season. In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, we get to see actress Jessica de Gouw suited up as The Huntress for the first time. Helena Bertinelli’s alter-ego is set to make her debut on November 28th in the episode “Muse Of Fire” that will be penned by DC Comics Geoff Johns.

Well, it looks like we can stop with Electro as being the rumored villain for the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. According to Variety, Sony are meeting with actors to play the role and the most interesting of these is Jamie Foxx. There isn’t much word other than at this point.  It’s also being said that Homeland actor Damien Lewis was also up for the role at one point.

The actor also tweeted the following last night to which no one paid any mind:

Could that be a hint that they’ve already got the costume ready to go? Well, that’s besides the point here. Before you have a nerd rage, remember that just because an actor is in talks for a role does not mean that he has in the bag just yet. But Foxx is a fantastic actor and there has been plenty of times that we have doubted actors in these roles (See: Heath Ledger), so we should wait and just see how this one turns out. This could turn out to be pretty damn interesting.

UPDATE: While talking to Fandango about the upcoming DVD/Blu-Ray release of The Amazing Spider-Man Webb was asked about the news.

“What?!” Webb replied when I asked him about the casting news. The director made it clear he was feigning ignorance, and followed up with a very political (yet calculatedly non-committal) answer.

“Look, Jamie Foxx is a genius actor, and I think he’s electrifying. That’s my standard quote right now,” Webb told me, with a laugh. “But I think he’s a brilliant actor. From his work back in In Living Color to Ray to what he did in Ali, he’s just one of the great character actors of our generation.”

While Webb did not confirm nor deny anything, his use of the word electrifying is definitely interesting.

Well, it looks like we’ve got some interesting news over on the DC Comics film front. Latino-Review have just broken quite the interesting story. According to the site, Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pacific Rim) will soon begin work on a DC Comics adaptation for Warner Bros. The film, called Heaven Sent, will bring together some of the most well-known supernatural characters from the DC Universe.

The film is said to feature Deadman, The Spectre, Swamp Thing, John Constantine (no word as far as if we will see Keanu reprise the role), The Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Sargon and Etrigan The Demon. Suprisingly, Buddy Baker aka Animal Man is nowhere on the list even after how successful his current comic series is. I’m actually pretty surprised being that this is most of the line-up of the comic series that they aren’t titling this Justice League Dark.

Apparently, at the moment Warner Bros. lawyers are hard at work ensuring that they actually have the rights to use these characters. The film is quite some time away but it definitely sounds interesting.

Did you enjoy this year’s V/H/S? Well, the found footage horror anthology is getting a sequel, which will be titled V/H/S/2. The sequel will feature segments directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid), Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project) and Jason Eisner (Hobo With A Shotgun). Adam Wingard, who directed You’re Next and A Horrible Way To Die, will also be directing a segment as well as Simon Barrett, who wrote both of those movies, as well as two of the segments featured in V/H/S.

The first movie followed a group of students hired to break into a desolate house to find a lost VHS tape, which led into a series of found-footage stories directed by up-and-coming filmmakers. The sequel will follow a similar structure to that, featuring a pair of investigators who discover a tape while looking for a student. I haven’t seen the first one myself, but now that Gareth Evans is on board for the sequel I just may have to.

A new action-packed trailer for Paramount’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation has made it’s way online.  Were we upset that this movie didn’t get released as planned this year? Definitely. Are we still going to be in theaters opening weekend for this one? Hell yeah.

A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with Hasbro and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. Joe: Retaliation. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is hitting theaters March 29, 2013.
