Briefly: Anthony Hopkins loves breaking bad, and especially Walter White.

The actor loved the series so much in fact, and was so impressed by Bryan Cranston’s performance (actually calling it the best performance that he’s ever seen) that he sent Cranston a letter about it. Steven Quezada, who played Steven Gomez in the series, shared the letter on Facebook (full text below):

Letter

Images can be low resolution and a little hard to read, so here’s the full text of the letter:

Dear Mister Cranston. I wanted to write you this email – so I am contacting you through Jeremy Barber – I take it we are both represented by UTA . Great agency.

I’ve just finished a marathon of watching “BREAKING BAD” – from episode one of the First Season – to the last eight episodes of the Sixth Season. (I downloaded the last season on AMAZON) A total of two weeks (addictive) viewing. I have never watched anything like it. Brilliant!

Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen – ever.

I know there is so much smoke blowing and sickening bullshit in this business, and I’ve sort of lost belief in anything really.

But this work of yours is spectacular – absolutely stunning. What is extraordinary, is the sheer power of everyone in the entire production. What was it? Five or six years in the making? How the producers (yourself being one of them), the writers, directors, cinematographers…. every department – casting etc. managed to keep the discipline and control from beginning to the end is (that over used word) awesome.

From what started as a black comedy, descended into a labyrinth of blood, destruction and hell. It was like a great Jacobean, Shakespearian or Greek Tragedy.

If you ever get a chance to – would you pass on my admiration to everyone – Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Aaron Paul, Betsy Brandt, R.J. Mitte, Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Steven Michael Quezada – everyone – everyone gave master classes of performance … The list is endless.

Thank you. That kind of work/artistry is rare, and when, once in a while, it occurs, as in this epic work, it restores confidence. You and all the cast are the best actors I’ve ever seen. That may sound like a good lung full of smoke blowing. But it is not. It’s almost midnight out here in Malibu, and I felt compelled to write this email.

Congratulations and my deepest respect. You are truly a great, great actor. Best regards

Tony Hopkins.

It must have felt great to read that letter. Breaking Bad has been off air for two weeks now. How much are you missing it?

Briefly: Remember last year when The Walking Dead‘s third season premiere drew in a record number of viewers?

Last night’s premiere has blown that record out of the water. Seriously. Season three premiered to 10.9 million viewers, while season four’s opener drew in a whopping 16.1 million people.

AMC states that “The Walking Dead returned last night for its fourth season, delivering the highest ratings of any episode in series history. The season four premiere was watched by 16.1 million total viewers and 10.4 million adults aged 18-49. Last night’s ratings confirm The Walking Dead continues to be the #1 show on all of television among the coveted 18-49 demographic. 2013/14 season to date, last night’s premiere ranks as the #1 telecast in adults 18-49, outperforming all programs including primetime NFL football. With time-shifted playback, last night’s premiere should exceed 20 million viewers.”

AMC President Charlie Collier continues, “Sincere thanks to the fans, who have welcomed The Walking Dead back for its fourth season with the highest-rated episode in the show’s history. We could not be more proud of this show and everyone on both sides of the camera who work so hard to give life to this story of character, leadership and survival. It starts with series creator, writer and executive producer Robert Kirkman, show runner and executive producer Scott Gimple and the director of last night’s episode (and the man behind the make-up) executive producer Greg Nicotero, their fellow executive producers and an extraordinary cast and crew who are giving their all every day. So clearly, thanks to them, the dead have never been more alive.”

Those are some pretty insane numbers, huh? Did you watch last night’s episode? I have no idea when I’ll find the time to check it out, but be sure to let us know your thoughts!

Briefly: 12 year old Ty Simpkins just landed a HUGE role.

Deadline has learned that the cute-as-a-button Iron Man 3 and Insidious star has been cast as a lead in Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World.

New Girl‘s Jake Johnson and Bryce Dallas Howard are apparently also in talks for the film, but neither actor is confirmed at this time. No plot details for the film have been revealed, but we’ll be sure to share them as soon as they are! Jurassic World hits theatres on June 12th, 2015!

What do you think of the news? It can’t be worse than Jurassic Park III, can it?

Briefly: It seems as though a version of Batman: Arkham Origins is headed to nearly every game-playing device on the planet. Warner Bros. has announced that a mobile edition of Batman: Arkham Origins will be coming to iOS and Android devices this holiday season.

Developed by NetherRealm Studios, who recently released the phenomenal Injustice: Gods Among Us, and also developed the 2011 iOS title Batman: Arkham City LockdownOrigins looks like a great evolution of their previous mobile Batman title.

You’ll play as Batman as he fights his way through Gotham City’s most dangerous locales and encounters a number of DC Comics’ most deadly assassins. As you progress, you’ll be able to upgrade your character’s skills and fighting tactics, but you’ll also be able to unlock a number of unique Batsuits by earning in-game currency and rewards, and fans that also own a console version of the game will be able to access exclusive bonus content that is not available elsewhere.

Batman: Arkham City Lockdown was a fantastic mobile experience, and a great on-the-go companion to Arkham City. The game felt a lot like Infinity Blade (which isn’t a bad thing), but definitely had a certain charm that’s present with all NetherRealm titles. If you haven’t played it already, I’d definitely recommend giving Arkham City Lockdown a download, as it’ll give you a great idea of what the Arkham Origins mobile game will feel like.

Watch the first trailer for the mobile version of Batman: Arkham Origins below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Season four of The Walking Dead premieres tomorrow, and AMC today revealed two new additions to the already expansive cast.

Rosita was cast back in September, leaving us all to wonder if we’d be seeing Eugene and Abraham too. Castings for the two characters were revealed today, so it looks as thought the trio is complete!

Abraham will be played by Southland’s Michael Cudlitz, who tweeted the following photo of himself on set:

Josh McDermitt will portray Dr. Eugene Porter, who basically lied about knowing the cause of the pandemic, convincing Abraham to take him to Washington, meeting up with Rick and the others on the way. Here’s a photo of Josh:

33596_444572565753_8057701_n

I’m looking forward to seeing the trio introduced. Their arcs have always been interesting in the comic series, and Abraham was a wonderfully developed character before he met his untimely demise.

Are you excited for the premiere tomorrow? I’ll be busy celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving, but I’m sure it’ll be a great watch once I’m done!

Briefly: The first teaser trailer for Disney XD’s upcoming Star Wars: Rebels just debuted last week, and now the series’ main villain has been revealed.

His name is The Inquisitor, and according to the revelatory featurette, he’s been “by Darth Vader to hunt down the remaining Jedi Knights.”

The featurette also shows off some of the team behind Star Wars: Rebels, which looks to include plenty of LucasArts and The Clone Wars alumni. It’s a great team, and judging by what we’ve seen so far, Star Wars: Rebels should be something special.

Take a look at the featurette below, and let us know if you’re excited for the series! Star Wars: Rebels debuts in 2014!

And here’s a still shot of The Inquisitor:

Briefly: Back in March, Marvel announced a new, original live arena show called Marvel Universe LIVE!

Today, the company debuted the first teaser trailer for the show, as well as a “Meet the Creators” featurette.

Marvel Universe Live is now in production; the tour will launch in July 2014 with an 85 city North American run before heading overseas.  The show features state-of-the-art special effects, pyrotechnics, aerial displays, martial arts and countless other elements, and with a budget coming in at over 10 million dollars, I’m sure that the final product will be impressive as hell.

Take a look at the new videos below, and let us know if you plan on seeing Marvel Universe LIVE!

Briefly: Fans of Beenox’s 2012 The Amazing Spider-Man video game received some awesome news today at New York Comic-Con: the developer is working on The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Beenox revealed that while the game ties-in with the events of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the story is original, and will see Spidey again on the hunt for uncle Ben’s killer.

The sequel will also introduce a new heroism system called “Hero or Menace” in which you’re rewarded for stopping crime, but punished if you don’t keep it up. More interesting, the narrative will actually have Peter Parker bits for players to experience.

As Spidey, players will be able to free-roam through a greatly-enhanced Manhattan cityscape, one set to offer livelier, more engaging opportunities with which to put his sensational skills to use. Central to the expansive depth and detail being poured into The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game is the new “Hero or Menace” system, which incentivizes Super Hero behavior by rewarding the web-slinger’s crime-fighting efforts, and adds consequences for letting criminality fester. Spider-Man’s personal brand of web-swinging and up-close-and-personal combat will see a variety of new features as well.

This all sounds pretty damn good to me. As much as I disliked the film, I had an absolute blast swinging through the world of the first Amazing Spider-Man game. It sounds like Beenox has taken criticisms of the first title to heart, and I’m sure they’re release a much more varied, much more polished, and much more fun sequel.

I can’t wait.

Watch the first teaser trailer for the game below, and let us know if you’re excited!

Briefly: Nintendo today debuted a brand-new trailer for their upcoming 3DS title, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

The video does a great job of showing off some of the game’s new mechanics (including the new mirrored world, Lorule, and the neat 2D Link). Seeing the TriForce appear onscreen just as in did in A Link to the Past is a great touch at the end of the trailer.

I can’t wait to pick up Pokémon X or Y, but A Link Between Worlds is really the 3DS title that I’ve been waiting for. My Vita does nothing but gather dust, and it seems as though my 3DS keeps getting better and better (though I would like to upgrade to an XL model soon).

Watch the new trailer below, and let us know how excited you are! The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds hits stores on November 22nd!

Briefly: Before today, I didn’t know anything about The Tomorrow People beyond the title.

After watching the just released sizzle reel from New York Comic-Con, I’m interested as hell.

The series tells the story of Stephen Jameson, who starts hearing voices and teleporting in his sleep, and believes he is going crazy. In desperation, he listens to one of the voices and is led to a group of genetically advanced teens known as the tomorrow people, who are being hunted down by Ultra, a paramilitary group of scientists headed by Dr. Jedikiah Price. Torn by an offer from Price — having a normal life among people he belongs, but in exchange for helping rid the world of tomorrow people — Stephen chooses the higher road despite its probable surprises.

It sounds pretty cool, and I’m not really sure why I hadn’t looked into it sooner. In any case, I’ll be checking out the pilot tonight! Take a look at the reel below, and let us know what you think!

Already see the pilot? What did you think?

Briefly: Following the film’s first clip from earlier this week, Marvel has debuted another new featurette for November’s Thor: The Dark World.

The video spotlights just what Loki’s been up to since The Avengers (being stuck in an Asgardian cell, mostly), and the interesting dynamic of Thor needing his evil adopted brother’s help.

I can’t wait to finally see the film. The serious tone that Thor: The Dark World looks to take is one that I think Iron Man 3 desperately needed. In any case, take a look at the featurette below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the film! Thor: The Dark World hits theatres on November 8th!

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

New York Comic-Con begins tomorrow (be sure to look out for Jonathan), and attendees that visit the Legendary booth will be treated to a special 12-page preview of Mark Waid’s upcoming original graphic novel, Shadow Walk.

I’m stuck at home this weekend (all the way up in Canada), and won’t be attending the convention (though I will be in LA for Comikaze at the end of the month), but the fine folks at Legendary were kind enough to share a lengthy preview of the anticipated project.

Written by Mark Waid (with Thomas Tull and Max Brooks), and featuring art by Superman: Earth One‘s Shane Davis, the synopsis for Shadow Walk is as follows:

“I Walk Through The Valley Of The Shadow of Death…”

Is the Valley of the Shadow of Death a metaphor or could it actually be a real place? Three separate paranormal incidents over the last century, in a valley near modern day Iraq, seem to give credence to these claims. When satellite photos taken over the area hint at a dangerous new energy source, the U.S. decides to send in a Spec-Ops team to locate and extract it before it can fall into enemy hands.

Led by John Raines, a deadly soldier who has been left to rot in Guantanamo, accused of allegedly killing his entire platoon after entering the very same valley years prior, the team heads into dangerous territory to battle demonic creatures with little chance of survival. Armed with two arcane artifacts as their guide and protector, they will find out if the road to Hell just opened up on Earth.

Sounds awesome, right? You haven’t even seen the art yet.

Take a look at the Shadow Walk preview pages below, and let us know if you’re excited for the book! The original graphic novel hits stores on November 27th, and should be absolutely wonderful.

Briefly: ABC surprised absolutely no-one today when they announced that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has received a full season order.

Sure, ratings fell substantially after the series premiere’s MASSIVE 20 million viewers, but the show is still more than popular enough to warrant more episodes. According to DeadlineAgents is still ranked the  #1 series in the 2013-14 season among adults 18-49, and boasts solid DVR gains weekly.

The full season order brings the total episode count to 22, which should be more than enough to please fans until a second season is inevitably (probably) announced.

What do you think of the series so far? I’m not much of a fan of the villain-of-the-week formula, so I sure hope that something about S.H.I.E.L.D. changes soon, or I can sure see things getting stale fast. In any case, I’d probably keep watching just to see agent Coulson’s weekly quips. That dude’s wonderful.

Briefly: I did not expect this news today (or ever, really).

Double Fine Production’s wonderfully quirky adventure/RPG, Costume Quest, just hit the iOS App Store for the fantastic price of $4.99.

The game first launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 back in October 2010, where its originality, humour, and Paper Mario-esque combat were lauded by critics. Sadly, as seems typical with Double Fine titles, Costume Quest remained relatively under-the-radar. Could this iOS port give it the recognition it deserves?

Really, it’s a wonderful title, and one that is well worth its $4.99 asking price. It’s already a huge month for video games (in the last 30 days I’ve picked up Grand Theft Auto VThe Wind Waker HD, and Beyond: Two Souls… and Pokémon X/Y haven’t even released yet), but I’d implore you to take the chance on this one.

Already play the game? Be sure to share your thoughts on it below! You can grab the iOS version of Costume Quest here!

Briefly: Just yesterday it was revealed that Square-Enix is bringing the first eight titles in the Dragon Quest series to mobile, and now they’ve announced the next Final Fantasy port.

Final Fantasy VI (originally released in North America as Final Fantasy III because apparently we didn’t deserve all of the titles back in the day) will launch on iOS and Android devices this Winter.

Like the recently released Final Fantasy V, the mobile launch of VI will still feature the classic 2D sprites, albeit a “sharpened” version to better fit the high-res screens and powerful chipsets of today’s devices. As in the previous titles, controls will be reworked for touchscreens, and they’ll feel great.

Perhaps the most interesting piece of the reveal is what the future may bring for mobile Final Fantasy titles. When Kotaku asked what the future holds, producer Takashi Tokita stated that “We are aware that we have tons of VII fans. We have VII fans in our own company. If this Legacy project works out well, we would like to one day be able to work with VII.”

Could we one day be playing Final Fantasy VII on our smartphones?

Have you been keeping up with the mobile Final Fantasy rereleases? Which has been your favourite so far? Sound out below (mine is probably the DS port of Final Fantasy III, now THAT was a remake)!

Briefly: Just yesterday we learned when we’d be able to jump into the world of Telltale’s Fables game, The Wolf Among Us.

Now, they’ve made the 24 hour wait even harder with a very impressive launch trailer.

I’m still not sure that Telltale can match the intensity of last year’s incredible The Walking Dead, but if this trailer is any indication, The Wolf Among Us surely won’t be a walk in the park. The graphics look great, the sound superb, the voice acting is stellar, and the stress is definitely present.

I can’t wait to jump into this world. The Wolf Among Us acts as a prequel to Bill Willingham’s Fables, and it really makes me want to pull out some of the old trade paperbacks to experience as much of the universe as possible. Take a look at the launch trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be picking up the game!

Set prior to the events seen in the first issue of the FABLES comic book series, The Wolf Among Us puts players in the role of Bigby Wolf, a man once more infamously known as The Big Bad Wolf.  Now the sheriff of a hidden community in New York City, exiled from the land of fairy tales, Bigby is tasked by the bureaucrat Snow White to keep order within a society of mythical creatures and characters trying to remain undetected in the world of the mundane.  From a chain-smoking member of ‘The Three Little Pigs,’ to a car-stealing Mr. Toad itching for his next wild ride, The Wolf Among Us examines the lives of beings straight from the pages of myth and lore, now trying to survive on the meanest and most run-down streets of New York City.

Briefly: The Pacific Rim Blu-Ray is now less than a week away from release (I hope you’re picking it up), and a fantastic blooper reel from the set has leaked online.

It clocks in at a cool four minutes, and certainly does a good job of showing just how fun the production of Pacific Rim was. I really can’t wait to pick up the Blu-Ray and find out what other goodies are in store. It was one of the best moviegoing experiences that I had this year, and I can’t wait to jump back into that world.

Take a look at the reel below, and let us know what you think! The Pacific Rim Blu-Ray hits stores on October 15th!

Looking for more Pacific Rim? Screenwriter Travis Beacham was a guest on the show earlier this Summer!

Briefly: Square-Enix is bringing the first eight titles in the Dragon Quest series to iOS and Android.

Dragon Quest I is set to debut in Japan this Winter, but no other territories have been announced at this time. Square-Enix has released most of the iOS Final Fantasy titles in English, so I can’t imagine that the Dragon Quest games would be any different.

Square-Enix typically does a great job with their mobile ports, so if they do release for us, expect them to be good, but not cheap. And rightly so: these are games that were developed with much higher budgets than typical mobile games, and they should be treated as such.

Are you looking forward to the mobile port of the games? Which title are you most excited for? Sound out below!

Source: EuroGamer

Briefly: We’ve known that Telltale was crafting a game based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic series for some time now (it was announced all the way back in 2011), but we just found out when we’ll finally be able to get our first taste.

Episode one, titled Faith, will debut worldwide on Xbox 360 and PC/Mac this Friday, October 11th. PS3 players will be waiting a few extra days according to Telltale (but I’d imagine the game will drop with the PSN update on Tuesday). I’m sure that an iPhone/iPad edition will follow, but an iOS launch has not been confirmed at this point.

The first episode will cost Telltale’s standard $4.99, and a season pass for episodes two through five will cost a cool $14.99 at that point.

I’m really looking forward to the title, and to jump into the world of Fables. Telltale’s The Walking Dead was my favourite game of last year, so I’m very excited to see what they do next! Will the story and choices be able to match up to that of their post-apocalyptic adventure game? I sure hope so (but also don’t see how that’s possible).

Take a look at a teaser trailer for The Wolf Among Us below, and let us know if you’ll be picking up the game!

Briefly: Following yesterday’s great behind-the-scenes featurette, Open Road Films has debuted another look inside Machete Kills.

The video focusses specifically on the myriad of female characters in the film, including Amber Heard, Michele Rodriguez, Lady Gaga, Sofia Vergara, and Alexa Vega. Plenty of the cast is featured in small interviews, and the featurette really tries to sell the fact that Machete Kills isn’t simply a movie for guys.

Take a look at the featurette below, and let us know if you’ll be checking out Machete Kills this weekend!

http://youtu.be/PuYoO71GBMA

In MACHETE KILLS, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent MACHETE, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

Briefly: The base game isn’t even out yet, but Ubisoft today announced some very neat single-player DLC for their upcoming Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

The DLC is called Freedom Cry, and tells the story of born slave Adewale. Adewale eventually found freedom as a pirate aboard the Jackdaw, where he became Edward Kenway’s second-in-command. Now, 15 years later, Adewale has become a trained Assassin who finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue without weapons or crew. He starts to meet locals in an effort to assemble a crew and steal a ship. The more he helps, however, the more he is drawn into the Maroon slave community. Forced to face his past, Adewale sets out to free the slaves and bring death to their captors.

Sounds neat, huh? Freedom Cry brings an entirely new single-player story to the already expansive game. Take a look at the first trailer for the DLC below, and let us know if you’ll be picking it up!

Briefly: Irrational Games has debuted a sweet, sweet, five minute preview of the highly anticipated Bioshock Infinite DLC, Burial at Sea.

If you’re unaware, Burial at Sea takes Booker and Elizabeth (unbeknownst to their previous relationship) all the way down to Rapture on its fateful day, December 31, 1958. This, of course, is the night that Rapture fell, and is a night that hasn’t yet been explored in the series. Here, we’re set to live it.

The first episode of Burial at Sea is set to release sometime before the end of the year. The five-minute preview provides a great introduction to the episode, but be warned: watching will make the wait that much harder.

Take a look at the opening five minutes below (if you dare), and let us know if you’re looking forward to it!

Briefly: Disney today debuted the first extremely short, extremely unexciting teaser for next year’s Star Wars: Rebels animated series.

The teaser clocks in at just 16 seconds and features a classic shot of the underside of a Star Destroyer. The show is set during the 20 year gap between episodes III and IV of the series, which is a time period that’s never been explored on screen. You won’t see it from this teaser, but it’s pretty exciting stuff (especially since the series artwork is in the style of original concept artist Ralph McQuarrie)!

Take a look at the first teaser below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the series. Star Wars: Rebels is set to launch of Disney XD in Fall 2014.

And here’s a piece of very gorgeous concept art.

Briefly: Advertisement or not, this is unbelievably intricate and absolutely hilarious.

A new viral video promoting the release of this month’s Carrie remake has popped up online, asking the question: what if telekinesis was real?

The answer: you’d freak the shit out of everyone.

The video takes to a New York coffee shop, where unsuspecting visitors are treated to a telekinetic freakout. Honestly, the reactions are priceless (and you know that you’d do the same thing).

Take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think! Carrie hits theatres on October 18th!

Briefly: This video is well worth its ten minute running time.

The always-amazing team at SoundWorks Collection is at it again, and this time they’re taking on this weekend’s surprise hit, Alfonso Caurón’s Gravity.

You may still be revelling over the film’s breathtaking visuals, but did you notice just how spectacular the sound was? This new featurette explores just how Gravity‘s sound team was able to create such a soundscape, which was especially challenging, since the film is set in the silence of space.

Seriously, watch the featurette below, and if you haven’t, get out to your local theatre and see the film. Gravity is a movie that you need to see on the biggest, loudest 3D screen that you possibly can.

Already see the film? Let us know what you thought of it below!

Briefly: Robert Rodriguez’s anticipated Machete Kills is finally just a few days away from theatres, and an awesome new behind the scenes featurette for the film has just debuted online.

The video takes us inside Troublemaker Studios, and features an interview with Rodriguez himself, as well as many of the film’s cast members. The featurette certainly gives us some great insight to the film, and is a fantastic watch for fans of the series.

Take a look at the featurette below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to Machete Kills! Also, have you tried Robert Rodriguez’s AMAZING breakfast tacos?

Briefly: Fast & Furious 7 is less than a year away at this point, meaning that James Wan and crew are hard at work crafting the franchise’s next sequel.

Wan today shared a neat set photo from the film, featuring the venerable director leaning on a beautiful Aston Martin. The photo is complete with the caption: “my villain drives a nice set of wheels. #astonmartin”, so it’s safe to say that the vehicle probably belongs to Jason Statham’s character.

Take a look at the image below, and let us know what you think! Fast & Furious 7 hits theatres on July 11, 2014!

Briefly: Could this be the BIG NEWS that NetherRealm co-founder Ed Boon tweeted about?

The studio has just announced a new edition of their popular, acclaimed Injustice: Gods Among Us. The new, “Ultimate Edition” of the title includes (of course), the base game, and all of the DLC that’s been released so far (there’s quite a lot of it).

This edition is coming to PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, and PC, apparently leaving out the Xbox One, and totally leaving out the Wii U (which still hasn’t received any DLC). It launches on November 12th in North America, and November 29th in Europe.

This is a great buy for anyone that hasn’t yet picked up Injustice. The game is one of the best brawlers that I’ve played in some time, and it’s definitely a title that benefits from an expansive library of DLC.

Take a look at the launch trailer for Injustice below, and let us know if you’ll be picking up the new version!

“Gods Among Us” debuts as a bold new fighting game franchise that introduces a deep, original story featuring a large cast of favorite DC Comics icons such as Batman, Cyborg, Harley Quinn, Nightwing, Deathstroke, Solomon Grundy, Superman, Lex Luthor, The Flash, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Bane, Catwoman, Shazam, Black Adam, Raven, the Joker, Doomsday, Killer Frost, Ares and more. Set in a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred, players will experience heroes and villains engaging in epic battles on a massive scale.

Briefly: I’m hoping that these helmets are being touched up in post production (they’re looking pretty awful right now), but this is a pretty cool find in any case!

ComicBookMovie‘s DCMarvelFreshman has compiled a new shot of the Guardians of the Galaxy Nova Corp. It’s clearly composed of a few different set photos, but the image does give a pretty good look at what the Corps costumes look like. Take a look at the image below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the film! Guardians of the Galaxy hits theatres on August 1st, 2014!

Briefly: This looks incredible.

I’m (like most people it seems) a pretty big fan of Guillermo Del Toro. His films (and this year’s Pacific Rim is no different) tend to be wildly imaginative, insanely beautiful, and simply wonderful works of art.

During film production (and pre-production, right down to the conception phase) Del Toro tends to keep incredibly detailed notebooks of ideas and drawings. I’ve always wanted to take a look inside one of his books, and it looks like I’m about to get my chance.

Hitting store shelves in just a few weeks is Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiousities, a book (co-written by Space Command‘s Marc Zicree) that delves into many of Del Toro’s notebooks, elaborates on the contents, and finally gives us a look inside the celebrated director’s head.

The book sounds like a must buy for me. It’s currently available for pre-order on Amazon for a cool $36.00, or you can even pick up an INSANE limited edition version for just $636. The book’s publisher, HarperCollins has debuted a trailer for the upcoming collection, featuring a quick glimpse at just what you’ll be able to experience inside the cabinet. Watch the trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be picking this one up!
