With so much to look after before a big show such as E3, things are bound to leak out. On Sunday, June 9th, Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs CGI Trailer was leaked onto Youtube. Since the cat’s out of the bag, PR for Ubisoft decided to release the official trailer today since there is no reason not to. The CG is impressive but I want to see more gameplay before getting fully on the hype train for Watch Dogs.

It really does feel like the time put aside to show all of these trailers during E3 2013 has been cut a little. That’s why we’re getting them released right before the show starts. Just hours before we dive into the madness of E3 2013, Square Enix releases yet another trailer for their upcoming game, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. This time, we get actual gameplay footage.

The thing that I loved the most about Final Fantasy XIII was the group combat and the Paradigm system. It made combat more tactical instead of mashing one attack over and over. From the looks of this short gameplay trailer, Lightning Returns seems to be a solo affair. I hope we hear more about the combat during Square Enix’s time on stage today at E3 2013.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII releases on February 11, 2014 for PS3, Xbox 360

Seems like publishers can’t wait until E3 to show us all the wonderful trailers we will see on stage during the press conferences. A deluge of trailers were released today by multiple publishers in hopes to get everyone hype for what’s to come in the next three days. Hopefully we don’t have to see these trailers at the conference and instead, we get something a little different shown. Otherwise, it would seem to be a waste of time that could have gone to showing more of the game.

Thief

At first glance, this could be perceived as a promo for next season of the CW’s Arrow. Stealth games are a hit or miss with me. The ones that can mix great combat with stealth mechanics that don’t punish the player for being detected with insta-fail are few and far between. I really hope this next installment in the Thief series is one of those games.

Deus Ex: The Fall

I am one of the voices out in the world that dislike touch controls when it comes to tablet and mobile games. The lack of fidelity you get with these types of controls hampers the experience of said game. Deus Ex: The Fall looks great for a mobile game and a lot of detail to the story should be there since Deus Ex: The Fall is taking place right after the novel, Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect. I would like to see this on handheld devices such as the Nintendo 3DS or PS Vita.

Daylight

I play very few horror games. Not because I think they’re terrible, it’s more for the reason that I am a big baby and would have nightmares on an extreme level. Zombie Studios’ Daylight looks like something I would love to try but I would need someone in the room with me, with all the lights on. Possibly drunk as well.

LocoCycle

I love Twisted Pixel’s humor that is in every game they develop. LocoCycle doesn’t seem to stray from that path. Something about this trailer has me thinking this is going to be one of those launch games that is made for the Kinect. It just has that vibe during the in-game footage in the trailer.

Dark

Stealth-action RPG game where you play as a vampire? I’m in! Love the cell-shaded art and the music for the trailer fits rather well. I can’t wait to hear more about this title from Kalypso.

With all these trailers plus the ones from yesterday, how much do they have left to show us?

Seems today is the day to release all the trailers we will see during E3 2013. Maybe this will make room for more gameplay footage on stage. Square Enix released their trailer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13. The cutscenes are always a joy to watch, even when I don’t know what the hell is going on story-wise.

Some of the in-game footage looks a little rough but you can’t fault that due to the compressed video footage in the trailer. With Square Enix stretching Final Fantasy 13 so far, I hope that this is the last time we see Lightning strike so we can move on to new adventures.

Deep Silver has kindly released their trailer for Saints Row 4 that will be on loop at E3 2013. You can set it on loop too. It’ll make you feel like you were there, minus the booth babes, loud music, crappy food and being late to all of your appointments.

Oh man the drama! Honestly, Saints Row 4 is looking more and more like it will be just as good if not better than Saints Row 3. THEY HAVE KEITH DAVID FOR CHRIST’S SAKE!

Almost a week away from release, The Last of Us ad train is leaving the station. This compelling and well thought out TV commercial was done in a very clever way. Usually “Live Action” trailers are just some dude dressed as the character, this is different.

Grab your copy of The Last of Us June 14th!

Whoa whoa whoa whoa…whoa. I think I can already call E3 2013 best of show. Square Enix just blew my mind with this trailer for Murdered: Soul Suspect.

This announcement is the purest definition of Teaser. There is barely any information online about this game. What I have been able to find out is this. Murdered is an action adventure, puzzle game published by Square and developed by one of their internal studios, though which one is a mystery. It was first teased back in February where the Square official Twitter posted “What is the hardest case to solve?”. Today we got this trailer.

Lets hope we got ourselves another L.A. Noire type game on our hands.

More info from us about this during our E3 coverage. Murdered: Soul Suspect is confirmed released on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. No next gen release has been announced yet.

The long running Tales series has been a big hit with RPG gamers worldwide, but none in the franchise has had as much of a lasting impact as Tales of Symphonia. The Gamecube original and its Wii exclusive sequel, Dawn of the New World, will soon be getting an HD facelift in the form of Tales of Symphonia Chronicles.

Exclusive to the PS3, the collection will include new cover art, costumes for main characters Lloyd and Genis straight from Tales of the Abyss, a remixed soundtrack and other additional content that should be elaborated on in the near future.

Seeing the Symphonia series return is exciting news, but it’s weird that the Wii U isn’t getting a port considering that both games are Nintendo exclusive aside from a Japan only release of the first game on PS2. Either way, more gamers having access to two great RPGs can only be a good thing.

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is set to release in Japan on October 10th with a North American release in early 2014.

We’re just 11 days away from the highly anticipated release of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, and the first footage from the game’s multiplayer mode has just found its way online.

The video comes from Polish gaming site BossBattleComing, and therefore is a little tough to understand, but you can at least get a good sense of what the standard ‘Deathmatch’ mode will look and feel like. The game will have plenty of other multiplayer modes, possibly including a rumoured large-map, open world, awesome sounding survival option. Sounds good to me.

Regardless of multiplayer, I’m dying to jump into the world of The Last of Us. The game releases on June 14th, and will certainly be a contender for Game of the Year. Watch the Deathmatch footage below, and let us know if you’re excited!

2011  saw the release of Payday: The Heist. A surprise hit from Overkill Software and Sony Entertainment, it puts players in the role of high profile thief’s. Missions range from your normal run of the mill bank robbery to breaking VIP’s out of jail. The game plays a lot like Left 4 Dead (There was even a L4D crossover) but with Police and SWAT instead of zombies. You can get additional points for hand cuffing bank managers and civilizations and destroying video evidence.

The game was surprisingly fun and very difficult. Waiting at key locations for drills and saws to cut through doors added a level of urgency. Recently announced from Sony was the much wanted sequel, dropping “The Heist” from the title, check out the new gameplay trailer for Payday 2

You can get your hands on Payday 2 for Steam, PSN and XBLA this August!

Cross buy is one of the biggest incentives Sony has introduced for gamers who are thinking of taking the plunge and buying a Vita. As seen with Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault, things don’t always go as planned. Due to a lack of quality with the Vita port, which was supposed to launch simultaneously with the PS3 version in November, handheld owners had to wait until this week to finally play their promised copy.

To compensate for the wait, those who use the cross buy feature to download the Vita version will also receive Ratchet: Deadlocked, Ratchet’s “extreme” identity crisis from the PS2 days. Including the Ratchet and Clank HD Collection and the series of fantastic PS3 games in the franchise, Deadlocked marks the release of the entire Ratchet and Clank series in HD on the PS3. I guess good things really do come to those who wait!

A release date for Deadlocked outside of this deal has yet to be named, but two games for the price of one when they’re part of a premier platforming series like these are nothing to shake a Lombax’s tale at.

The guys over at Bungie are doing their thing again. Much like with past Haloz, they are pumping out some incredible live action meets CG  advertisements for their newest game, Destiny. Check it out!

From the Release:

As a Guardian of the City sets out on an epic, action-packed adventure to reclaim our Solar System, he recalls the moment when he was first taught the most important lesson of all — The Law of the Jungle.

Watch this live-action/CG trailer and get a sneak peek at Destiny, the bold, new action game from the creators of Halo® and the company that brought you Call of Duty®.

Another year, another Call of Duty. When Activision and Infinity Ward took the stage of the Xbox One reveal to discuss the upcoming COD: Ghosts, they promised that it wouldn’t be more of the same. While that has yet to be seen from a game play standpoint, the details they did reveal hope to convince gamers that this is going to be more than just a map pack in disguise.

Featuring dynamic online maps that change as you play, a new cast and a story written by Stephen Gaghan, (who penned Traffic and Syriana,) were perhaps overshadowed by the newest squad mate to join the team. Rather than another roided up military tough guy, a great amount  of detail went into the squad member on four legs.

Not since Dog’s Life has so much attention gone into properly capturing dog behavior in a game. It’s good to see that the next generation of canine technology has finally arrived! Using motion capture with a real German Shepard, Infinity Ward promises that you’re going to really care for this dog. I mean really build a strong attachment to him as you brave the trenches of war against enemy soldiers that are out for your blood. Knowing that no matter how many combatants head your way, you’ll get through it knowing your loyal friend is at your side!

Yeah, he’s gonna die at the end…

Watch this incredible dog-soldier dynamic in action and get hyped for this holiday season when you’ll be able to have this shooter in your hands!

When you are the President of the United States, you have to look dapper. With the first image of the box art for Saints Row 4 released today, Deep Silver seems to understand this.

Hopefully with all the things going on in the reflection of those sweet aviator glasses, the suit won’t get ruined.

Deep Silver also announced they will be releasing small clips of gameplay calling the series “Hail to the Chief”. It wouldn’t be a Saints Row game without some over the top shenanigans so with each video in this series, we will get a little taste of these very shenanigans.  With the first video in the series, “Airplane”,  we’re shown one of the powers you’ll receive in the game, Telekinesis.

Saints Row 4 releases August 20 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Bungie today released a very cool new trailer for their upcoming sic-fi game, Destiny. Mixing live-action and CG, the preview was directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man), and stars the always-impressive Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) as a father telling the story of Destiny to his child.

The most exciting aspect to me isn’t the preview itself, but what is revealed at the end of it: we’ll get out first taste of Destiny‘s gameplay at Sony’s E3 press conference on June 10th. I’ve already marked my calendar.

Watch the new trailer below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the game!

We were all rather confused back in February when Sony announced the Playstation 4… without showing anyone the Playstation 4.

It looks like the company is almost ready to unveil their latest black box; a new teaser video has been released, featuring a very blurry look at what appears to be the console, before simply showing the date of June 10th, 2013 at 6PM. This of course, is the date and time of Sony’s E3 press conference.

So on June 10th, we’ll finally know what the PS4 looks like. Hopefully they’ll also talk release date and price, as I’m itching to buy another console that I don’t have time to play. Take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think!

It’s easy to see that Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us has some amazing visuals, but we had no idea just how incredible the game would sound. A new trailer for the game has been released featuring composer Gustavo Santaolalla, and spotlighting some of the beautiful audio we’ll be hearing throughout our The Last of Us journey.

The Last of Us releases on June 14th, and is bound to be one of the best games of 2013. Pre-order customers will get full access to the digital soundtrack, so if you like what you hear in the trailer below, get on it! I’m beyond excited to jump into this world, how about you?

A few months ago, Warner Brothers Interactive announced “Batman: Arkham Origins,” a prequel to the wildly popular “Arkham” games that achieved a task that many thought was impossible; making a great Batman game. While new developer Warner Bros. Games Montreal has some huge boots to fill with the legacy left behind by Rocksteady Games, their first official teaser hopes to put these concerns to rest.

Check out Batman going toe to toe with master assassin Deathstroke and tell us what you think! Be sure to check back on May 20th when the full trailer is released! Same bat site, same bat web page!

Batman: Arkham Origins will release for every major platform on October 25th.

Just days after teaching us all about pirates, Ubisoft has released a flashy new gameplay trailer for the next flagship title in the Assassin’s Creed series.

The newest preview, titled ‘Under the Black Flag’ better acquaints us with the game’s new main man (Edward Kenway), and of course showcases a plethora of elegant, brutal assassinations.

Are you excited to sail the high seas in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag? How about stepping into the shoes of a new Kenway? Watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think! Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag hits stores on October 26th!

Assassin’s Creed IV is just months away at this point, so it’s about damn time that we got a new trailer.

The new preview takes us deeper into the history of the game, and helps to explain just why Edward Kenway is doing what he’s doing. The video features very little gameplay footage, so if that’s what you’re looking for, you’re better off checking out the previously released trailer.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag hits PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 26th. Watch the new preview below, and let us know what you think!

It’s nearly time to play The Last of Us!

Naughty Dog’s latest is barely a month away from its worldwide release, and Sony has premiered a cool new TV spot to advertise that fact. The video features some beautiful scenery, and has our heroine Ellie justifying the actions that the characters have taken to survive as long as they have.

The Last of Us is going to be incredible, there’s no doubt in my mind about that. I can’t wait to pick up a copy, have you preordered yours? The Last of Us hits stores worldwide on June 14th. There’s also an awesome tie-in comic set before the events of the game to get you up to speed!

Ubisoft’s next slam dunk title, Watch Dogs, is looking better and better every day. Set in the near future, players take the role of  Aiden Pearce, a man who was done dirty and is getting revenge on the people that did it. The major gameplay mechanic in Watch Dogs is being able to hack into the city’s electronic surveillance systems and utilities.

So, if you weren’t sold already, here are six minutes of gameplay footy to help you decide whether or not to pick Watch Dogs up!

Disney has released another trailer for their upcoming Disney Infinity set.

I get more excited for Infinity with each new trailer that’s released. As a geek with kids (yes, it’s a thing… our very own club), I enjoy playing video games with my children. I already pre-ordered this for the Wii U, and I believe that the possibilities are endless.

With the Disney Infinity Play Box mode, kids and adults will have the opportunity to create their own Games and Adventures in up to 4 Player Co-Op. There are also rumors of Marvel and Star Wars characters being added in the future.

Are any of you looking forward to the upcoming Disney Infinity playset? Be honest. How many GwKs are out there?

Remember when Grand Theft Auto V was set to release this Spring? If that had happened… you’d probably be playing it right now. Instead, take a long, hard look at these 12 new screenshots, as you still have four months to wait for the game to release.

Just remember, as Shigeru Miyamoto once said, “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”

Grand Theft Auto V releases on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th. How freaking excited are you for this one?

An awesome new behind-the-scenes trailer for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us has just been released. The video features The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann (who also wrote the awesome prequel comic) and director Bruce Straley, and explains the inspiration for the many infected that the game features.

I’ve been thoroughly impressed with every piece of media we’ve seen from the game, and this one is no different. It’s easy to see just how proud and heartfelt the two are when talking about the title, and I cannot wait to experience the fruits of Naughty Dog’s labour.

Watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Last of Us releases on June 14th.

Borderlands 2 writer Anthony Burch made a little mistake on Twitter. He snapped a pic of sleeping head of VP, Steve Gibson. What he didn’t realize is that a giant banner for the next DLC was in the background.

Bae Caught me slippin!
Bae Caught me slippin!

What does this mean for you, the consumer? Well it is most likely the last episode of their season pass of DLC. We can expect the tease we got a month ago was for this. Assault on Dragons Keep looks like it may be a blast!

No release date or official word from Gearbox has been issued. The tweet was removed rather quick, but as Scarlett Johansson can attest to, once online its permanent.

Activision began teasing the next installment in the Call Of Duty franchise on the game’s official site the other day and now the official title and release date for the game have been revealed via a leaked promotional poster. Call Of Duty: Ghosts, which could quite possibly be a prequel game featuring fan-favorite character Simon “Ghost” Riley from Modern Warfare 2, will be released on November 5th.  You can check out the leaked promotional poster below.

Expect an official announcement regarding the game to be made sometime tomorrow.

The think I’m a man out of control, but I’ve never had so much control.

Is Watch Dogs on or near the top of your must have list yet? If the phenomenal trailers and previews that we’ve seen so far haven’t overly impressed you, maybe this just released gameplay-trailer will do the trick (it should). This one features Aiden yet again running through the city and being tricky, but also has him explaining just why he’s doing what he’s doing.

You’ll get your chance to take over Chicago on November 19th. Watch Dogs is set for release on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. Watch the new trailer below, and let us know how excited you are!

In Watch_Dogs, players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city’s omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the ultimate weapon.

We’re now (finally) just one day away from the anticipated release of Digital Extremes’ Star Trek: The Video Game. The title’s marketing has made it look pretty damn awesome so far, so I’m really looking forward to hearing what reviewers have to say about it (look for ours soon). Star Trek: The Video Game helps bridge the gap between 2009’s Star Trek and next month’s Star Trek Into Darkness, and will showcase the Gorn stealing the Helios device from the resettling Vulcans.

Watch the launch trailer for the game below, and let us know what you think! This is one movie tie-in that I’m hoping is worth its cover price!
