We’re back with Loot Crate’s latest gaming crate! If you’re just excited as we are to see just what’s inside, you’re in the right place! Let’s get started:

file_0041

First up on the list is a very cool Claptrap bottle opener. The bottle opener is brushed in chrome silver and has some weight to it. It’s much prettier in person. I promise.

file_000

Second item in the crate is another Loot Crate exclusive. This Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Adam Jensen Figure is not only a mouthful, but is also a pretty neat exclusive for any Deus Ex fans out there. The figure also features a special QR code at the base!

file_001

Next up is a home run for all the Destiny fans out there. This Loot Crate exclusive t-shirt features a Hunter, Titan, and a Warlock. The shirt is 100% cotton and is perfect to wear during a 10-hour raid with your inexperienced friends who desperately want in on all the raid action.

file_0021

Hey! Did you hear Cliffy B is working on a new game? Well now you do! Loot Crate is helping spread the word about Cliffy’s new game, Lawbreakers. This crate features a snapback hat made of twill and sports black and red.

file_003

One of my favorite items in this month’s crate is this Bioshock patch, featuring – you guessed it! A Big Daddy! Now, aside from the fact that it’s a Big Daddy, the fact that the Big Daddy’s eyes were made using glow in the dark thread makes this patch even more awesome. Not all that great at sewing? Don’t worry! It’s an iron-on patch for all you novices out there! (For the record, I’m still too scared to apply it.)

file_0051

Last, but certainly not least, is the Mecha Pin. This pin is meant to represent “the moments when our sum was greater than our parts. It features a single hand, split into two. One half is machine, while the other is human. It is made of hand-polished iron, is 2 inches thick, and has a 1.25 diameter.

Briefly: After numerous huge updates earlier this year (like this one and this one), Sony’s Playstation Now cloud gaming service is set for another massive expansion, along with a pretty slick deal for new subscribers.

Sony has revealed that Playstation Now will add 50 new titles tomorrow (50!?), including a slew of 2K gems like Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, The Darkness II, Spec Ops: The Line, and Duke Nukem Forever (okay… that last one is about as far away from a gem as you could get).

Aside from those few titles, the company hasn’t revealed the myriad of games that will hit the service tomorrow. They have, however, revealed a discounted subscription package that should ensure that you never set foot outside this Summer. From tomorrow through July 11th, players in US and Canada can pick up a 3-month Playstation Now subscription for just $29.99, which marks a 33% discount from the subscription’s usual $44.99 price tag.

Yeah, that’s a great deal, isn’t it?

I’m still impossibly far away from grabbing a subscription to Playstation Now, but at this point it’s certainly not for a lack of content. My PS4 and Wii U backlogs continue to grow, and I simply can’t add another generation of missed experiences to that list. In any case, at this point you’re certainly getting your twenty dollars worth with the myriad of titles at your disposal, and Sony often has some pretty great promotions on the service as well. At this point, if you’re looking at dollar per hour of content/fun, Playstation Now would be hard to beat.

Take a look at all of Playstation Now’s 2K titles via the trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you think of the service!

GWG March

Briefly: Playstation Now has always seemed like a bit of an odd duck to me.

I’m totally down with Cloud-based gaming, and had a fantastic time with Onlive’s Playpass a number of years back, but Playstation Now, while an incredible idea, always seemed sort of lackluster in its offerings.

Today, the offerings improve, and the Playstation Now library becomes a little more handsome with the addition of Gearbox’s incredibly fun (as long as you’re playing with other people) Borderlands and Borderlands 2.

Even better (at least in my opinion), Irrational Games’ genre-defining Bioshock and Bioshock 2 have joined the already available Bioshock Infinite, making for a pretty incredible million hours of gaming if you’ve somehow missed out on these titles.

I’m still impossibly far away from grabbing a subscription to Playstation Now, but at this point it’s certainly not for a lack of content. My PS4 and Wii U backlogs continue to grow, and I simply can’t add another generation of missed experiences to that list. In any case, at this point you’re certainly getting your twenty dollars worth with the myriad of titles at your disposal.

When Borderlands took the gaming world by storm, the developers at Gearbox showed that blending the tried and true FPS genre with the progression and growth of an RPG was a winning formula. Rather than be satisfied with the mega franchise that it’s become, the team is hoping to push the envelope even further with their latest title, Battleborn. As big fans of their previous work, we made sure to get some hands on time with it on the show floor and see if they could recreate the magic.

One of the first things that we noticed with Battleborn is how much character variety the title will offer. Promising up to about 50 characters to choose from with five player co-op, each character is so wildly different from each other that it’s likely to ensure that no two playthroughs will be the same. Sure, if you want to take the more traditional road, there are characters that specialize in automatic weapons, heavy artillery or sniper rifles. If you’re like me and want something with a little more class, maybe the rapier wielding Phoebe is more your style, who joins characters such as a dwarf in specializing in up close melee strikes. If swinging blades in a shooter sounds strange to you, that has nothing on the ninja mushroom that uses its head as a healing spore when he’s not throwing his deadly blades, or the four armed magic user who can speed in and out of the battlefield and away from danger.

If you were able to follow along with all of that, it’s clear that Battleborn is insane. To think that these are just a sample of the characters that will be available when the game launches at the end of the year makes it hard to imagine what else will be waiting for us. Either way, it’s fortunate that there are so many options, because as you and up to four other friends fight to extend the life of  the last star in the universe, you’re going to want to have multiple ways to achieve such a task. Just because the galaxy is about to come to an end doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it, right?

The brief time we spend in the campaign mode felt instantly familiar for anyone who played Borderlands. Each character has their own skill trees, that can be expanded on as each character levels up. Every team member gets equal EXP when anyone defeats an enemy, so even terrible team members will get stronger and hopefully improve… Right? As we fought through hordes of enemies in between abusing special abilities and hacking away at the huge foes, it became clear that the bright, cartoony art style hid a deceptively challenging game, with large areas that get full quick. If Borderlands felt like an RPG, then Battleborn feels like a hack and slash in the same vein as games past, with a more stage focused setup as opposed to the big, open world from before. It feels similar enough to know you’ll love it while being different enough to stand out on its own. What more can you ask for in a new IP?

Battleborn is one of my biggest surprises coming out of E3 so far. What are your thoughts on what could be the next big co-op shooter? Let us know in the comments, and take a guess as to who your character is going to be!

Briefly: I joined the Borderlands camp way too late, ignoring countless recommendations from friends until long after Borderlands 2 was old news. Then I finally played it at a LAN Party, and was hooked for weeks (or months… a long time in any case).

I first played the game on a laptop, and after playing the title with a keyboard and mouse it would be very hard for me to transition to a controller, but in any case the just-announced Borderlands: The Handsome Collection looks more than intriguing… especially that collector’s edition. And yes, I get that this is yet another remaster of an older game(s) on two console that already have far too many remasters.

The Handsome Collection hits PS4 and Xbox One on March 24th (in the US, international is March 27th), and includes remasters of both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. For the first time (and this is probably the most exciting part) both games will offer four-player local split screen multiplayer, so you can actually play the damned thing on the same couch as the people you’re playing with. Not bad, huh?

You can even transfer your saved games from the last-gem versions.

The Handsome Collection will launch for $59.99, and will also include all of the vast amounts of DLC for both titles. 2K has also revealed a pretty substantial Claptrap-in-a-box edition. Here’s what they had to say about it:

The Handsome Collection will also receive an extremely limited collector’s edition, the Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition. Limited to only 5,000 units worldwide, the Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition includes a remote-controlled Claptrap steward robot that looks just like the in-game character! He is designed and detailed to look just like the Claptrap you know and love – or maybe hate – and now you have the power to control him from your iOS and/or Android device with a companion app called ClaptrApp. The remote controlled Claptrap also includes the following features:

– Gyro technology to balance on one wheel allowing it to move wherever you want him to!
– Voice samples of some of Claptrap’s most iconic lines that can be activated on command!
– A real working camera in his “eye” that is streamed to your mobile phone, so you can see where Claptrap is headed!

The Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition also includes 12 exclusive Vault Hunter lithographs as well as a collectible steel case and will be available for $399 at selected retailers. Act fast, because these things won’t last long! The Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition will be available at participating retailers in North America as well as internationally.

And it looks just as cool as it sounds:

Briefly: I got into the Borderlands craze way (way) late, and am just working my way through Borderlands 2 with some friends now. That being said, I can’t wait to get my hands on The Pre-Sequel… especially not after seeing this freaking rad launch trailer.

Full of Handsome Jack, everyone’s favourite (now playable) robot, and brief introductions to all of our new characters, the trailer shows off a fantastic assortment of loot and co-op action. And one moon wizard. I still can’t believe they took that line out of Destiny.

Take a look at the game’s launch trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited to play! Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel hits Windows, OS X, Linux, PS3, and Xbox 360 tomorrow!

Briefly: The next game from Borderlands creator Gearbox Software has just been revealed, and it looks pretty freaking cool.

It’s called Battleborn, and it’s self-described as:

Battleborn is a next-gen hero-shooter brought to you by the creators of the award-winning and best-selling Borderlands franchise. In Battleborn’s distant future, the only hope for the last star in a dying universe is a new breed of warriors, who must put aside their differences to drive back an unstoppable menace. Choose from a myriad of powerful heroes and fight together alongside your friends in an intense co-operative campaign, or battle against them in fast-paced competitive multiplayer matches.

So Borderlands with a different plot? Except the art style is way different, and unlike Borderlands, it’s coming to Xbox One and PS4, and instead of four-player co-op, it’s five.

Take a look at the announcement trailer for the game below, and be sure to let us know if you’ll be looking further into this one. Battleborn will release in 2015.

Last year, several students at The Academy of Art University in San Fransisco were given the chance of a lifetime–to work in the video game industry. To make their dream even more unreal, they were asked to work with 2K Games and Gearbox in creating short films based on the Borderlands franchise. The Art of the Game follows the lives of these talented students as they take their passion for video games and the Borderlands franchise, and compete for a chance for an internship at Gearbox.

Geekscape spoke with Kelly Miller of 2K Games and director Matthew Davis Walker of Story Developing to get the inside story on the documentary.

Geekscape: “Please share who you are and how the idea for The Art of the Game came about.”

Kelly Miller: “I work in the marketing team at 2K who launched the Borderlands 2 game, which is quite a while back, and after the game launched, we were really thrilled over how well the game was doing and we wanted to keep that momentum going and kind of think of innovative ways to partner at a community level with the fans, and one of the ideas was to work with a local university, which ended up being the Academy of Arts University, to basically come up with this program which we called the ‘Borderlands Cooperative’, and that was a project where we gave the students in-game assets and wanted to give them real world experience of what it would be like working on a game, and challenge them to come up with storyboards and little short two-minute films based on the world of Boderlands using the in-game assets.”

“So that was kind of the nugget of the original idea, and once we started talking to the Academy of Arts, we realized how excited these kids were, how talented they were, how passionate they were–we thought there may be a bigger story to tell here, and that’s when we got in touch with Matt and Ryan at Story Developing to help us really develop that core idea and see what we could do with, and that’s how the documentary came together.”

Matthew Davis Walker: “Once 2K had approached Ryan Rich and I, we immediately decided that we didn’t want to make a reality show about these kids; we wanted to just sit with them and be with them as they work, and to learn about them and their passion for this industry that they’ve devoted their lives to, and, so, we really just let things happen organically, and the times we weren’t ‘there’, we had purchased some cameras ti give to the kids to have when interesting things were happening to them. It was from that organic process, of meeting them and learning about them, that there other things we wanted to talk about in the film. It was a great organic process–things just kind of happened.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLOM1bZrrdw

Geekscape:How long was that process–having students pitch an idea, develop a story, storyboard it, and actually produce a finished product?”

Kelly Miller: “I think we started working at the school just about a year ago during the Spring semester where they started working on their storyboards and it went all the way through the Fall semester. So the first half of the project was student had created storyboards and that was where this competition part of the project came in, where they pitched the ideas to us and then we narrowed down to three that we wanted to put into full production, and then right around the end of the year when the next semester started, it was handed over to the animation students at the school, and then they actually took the storyboards and animated them into these three short films. ”

Matthew Davis Walker: “The three finalists were picked in May last year, so before that, from February to May, it was that whole developing and refining process that occurred, and then from that point it was when the Summer semester came in and the animation students began to put it all together in a more finished piece, and then it was their job in the Fall semester to put it all together. It was an incredible amount of work in a short period of time, and this was all on their own time; it wasn’t part of the school curriculum. It was an outside project–and they were so passionate about this opportunity to work.”

“Once the finalists were selected, we started filming them. Throughout that whole period, we would then be traveling around the country shooting different stories–from Wisconsin to Atlanta to Connecticut–to learn about [the student finalists].”

Geekscape: “Those within the Borderlands fan community are among the most fiercely passionate group of fans that any franchise could hope for. That being said, when you received the film footage back from the finalists, were you surprised–because you know you had fans who were going to be more than eager to participate in this kind of venture–by how vast and intricate their films were?”

Kelly Miller: “For sure! Yes! We knew that these kids were really excited about working on this, but when started showing us these storyboards, I mean, we were all basically floored. They way exceeded our expectations. I mean, they clearly were fans of the game and they and they knew the world of Boderlands, and they took these ideas to places we would have never even imagined, and the Gearbox team was also really closely involved in working with the students in helping them direct the finals storyboards that were put into production, and at each phase of the project, I think we had two rounds where they presented to us and we gave feedback and then they made revisions and presented to us again. And at each time, we were like, ‘Wow! These guys are very, very talented. It’s kind of a cycle of they were inspired by the content and assets and world they had to plan, and we were really inspired by their creativity and talent and the ideas they came up with, so I think it was a really, you know, ‘feel good’ project on both sides in terms of the passion for the game and then the inspiration that came out of what we did. We talk about this a little bit in the film and we definitely talked about it a lot outside of that–just the caliber of the material they were producing, and we wanted to put way more than three [finalists] into production. There were a lot of them that we think could have gone all the way and made great films. We had parameters we had to stick to in terms of  how we chose the final one, so the ones that fit those parameters the best were the ones who went into production, but there was definitely a lot of talent and creativity.”

Geekscape: “It seems ever since King of Kong, there has been this fascination with documentaries focused on video game players, and now we have documentaries focused on those who create video games, such as Indie Game: The Movie and documentaries exploring video game culture, as in Gamer Age. What do you think is going to catch people off guard when they watch The Art of the Game?”

Matthew Davis Walker: “That’s a great question. I don’t know. You know, like with all artistic projects, you live with it for so long and you’re trying to tell this story and you are at this point where you are now sharing it with the world after only–you know–a handful of people have been with the film and so you hope that your message comes across. I think the message that we’d love to get across to people is–I think the film, along with showing that these students who had the chance of a lifetime to work in the industry of their dreams,  shows [the audience] the industry [the students] are entering into and all the leaps and bounds that have taken place within the industry that may have gone maybe unnoticed by the rest of the media and other cultures. I mean, obviously that’s not true since so many who are into this industry and this culture, but I hope people get to see the passion and the work and the creativity these kids put in, and maybe a little glimpse of what these kids can do in the future.”

Kelly Miller: “I think another one of our goals when we set out was, you know, we definitely thought that the students had an inspiring story to tell, but we also, you know, as we got into it, realized that there was a larger story here and we wanted to shed light on why games are such an attractive medium for all artists and storytellers, and also people who play games. One of the tings we talk about in the beginning of the film is how its an often misunderstood medium. I mean, I think that this film will appeal a lot to gamers, but we hope also their parents, friends, aunt and uncle, and the people who are, like, ‘Why do you like games so much?’–that this film will help answer that question and people will see the deep stories and emotion that come out of games, but also the way games can connect people of all ages, and educate and that it is a medium that’s having a greater and greater impact on our culture and in a way that I don’t think people necessarily understand when they think about video games.”

Geekscape: “In an AP report in which you had an earlier interview, you mentioned that video games don’t simply apply to the hardcore PC/console gamer. I completely agree. People in retirement homes have Wii Bowling leagues. Stroke victims, who are limited by certain motor functions, can not only play video games due to the vast control options the medium provides , but they can also participate in  a community of fellow gamers and not be restricted by their physical limitations nor their age difference.”

Kelly Miller: “Yeah, I think that games are kind of the next wave in the way to  connect and tell stories. We talk about how films were the medium this last generation in the way they shed light and helped audiences sympathize with an environment or condition they don’t fully understand. Video games really give you that experience first-hand–to be able to go into the world of what other people experience and give you some perspective, in addition to being entertaining and fun. A deeper experience is happening with games, and I don’t think people who don’t play games necessarily know that about them.”

Geekscape: “I would imagine–I know the people at Gearbox and 2K are very proud of what they have accomplished and how much the fans have embraced it, but were you taken aback at how much the Borderlands franchise meant to those taking part in the project?”

Kelly Miller: “Yeah. It’s really inspiring and exciting for us–you know, obviously Gearbox made an amazing game and we are really happy to be partners with them to publish it and it has been a great project to market, but every time we go out to PAX, Comic-Con, or any convention, there are always cosplayers dressed up, people always come to the booth and they’re so excited and they want to engage with [us]. It’s such a really positive experience. We see a little bit of that in the gaming community, but when we took it to the school which is a different environment, and we still get the same reactions. People come up and tell us how much the game means to them, and it’s really great to see how the game has affected so many people.”

Geekscape: “Do you believe viewers will have a bigger appreciation for how much work it takes for video game developers to create the content so many gamers enjoy?”

“We really focus on the artistic side and the story side and the experience of games, so we don’t really touch on all of–you know, there’s so much more that goes into a game, but yeah. Hopefully we can shed some light on that part of it so [viewers] really do see it as people’s passion to create good games and entertainment.

Matt Davis Walker: ‘I was just constantly amazed by the kids, and how much they cared about the project and how many hours they put in, and how smart and dedicated they were. One of the great lines from one of the students was telling people that they are actors acting for the characters that they’re animating, so subtle little shifts of the head and eye movement–all those little subtle things in cinema and in great television that really help us sympathize with the characters and their situations–these [students] are doing it in a way that I think a lot of times we don’t always notice but we should, and help people take away [from The Art of the Game] the incredible talent and how much dedication it takes to work in this industry. That’s what The Art of the Game is about.”

Briefly: Aside from a pretty awful title, this is some pretty sweet news.

The announcement of Telltale’s Tales From The Borderlands was a welcome reveal, but we’ve all been waiting desperately for 2K Games to reveal the next true Borderlands title.

Today, we got that reveal with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

The game will launch this Fall on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC (no next-gen interestingly enough), and will take us (for the first time) to the moon of Pandora. According to 2K’s official blog post, the game is “Set between Borderlands and Borderlands 2, you’ll play as four new characters classes fighting alongside Handsome Jack, witnessing his transformation into the ruthless tyrant you loved to hate in Borderlands 2, and assisting with the rise of the Hyperion Corporation. The signature shoot ‘n’ loot gameplay of the Borderlands series expands with the addition of low-gravity and oxygen-powered jetpack combat, the icy ‘Cryo’ elemental damage type, the deadly laser weapon class, and new vehicles to help you explore the lunar landscape.”

Sounds like some worthy additions to the already awesome gameplay, don’t they?

The game’s new classes are as follows:

– Athena, the Gladiator: Uses her Kinetic Aspis, which is a shield that can absorb incoming damage, then convert it back into energy to use against enemies. Athena made her debut in The Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC for the first Borderlands game.

– Wilhelm, the Enforcer: Wilhelm was previously seen in Borderlands 2 as one of the first deadly bosses in the game.

– Nisha, the Lawbringer: The sheriff of Lynchwood from Borderlands 2, Nisha will be dealing out her own brand of justice, which we’ll discuss further in the coming months.

– Claptrap, the Fragtrap: Wait – Claptrap? The goofy robot companion from Borderlands 2, now playable for the first time? Fragtrap is his character class? Well, you can play him too!

You can take a look at the first screenshots from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel below, and head over to the 2K Blog for a few more details. Are you ready to jump back into this universe? What are you looking forward to most?

Last week The World’s End hit theatres. I had high expectations for this movie, and though said expectations weren’t fully met, I wouldn’t say I disliked the film. I would simply say it’s an above average feature at best. Part of the problem I found in the movie is that besides the disco, all of the bars feel exactly the same. I fully understand that it was probably a conscious decision by the filmmaker to do this in order to convey the blandness of the blank’s inhabited world, but conveying blandness is just that, bland. I would have really liked to have seen at least one bar that made me perk up and say “I wish that place existed, because if it did I would so be there every night”, at which point someone in the theatre would probably tell me to shush or give me a stern look. This discovery got me thinking about exactly which pop-culture bars I wish really existed, so I decided to do what all writers do when they ask themselves a question: write a list about it.

Number 10 : The Badass Crater Bar (aka Moxxi’s bar in Borderlands 2)

This is the place you go to wet your whistle between vault hunts on Pandora. It has not one, but two slot machines. That alone should satisfy your desire to know why I put this on the list, right? Okay, maybe not so let me get more specific. Going to this bar is all about hanging out with blunt sadistic Moxxi. If this place really existed I would sure be more then happy to keep sliding dollars across the bar for hours just to hear what would come out of that Moxxis mouth.

Number 9 : Barrelhaven Tavern (Bone)

Barrelhaven is the small town in the valley that the Bone cousins find themselves in during the events of the comic book, Bone. My primary reason for wanting to attend this bar is how ridiculous this whole world is what with dragons, rat creatures and cow races. Plus, I think it would be fun to have a cup of ale and hear Phoncible P. Bone tell tales of dragons, or listen to Smiley Bone play a song on his one stringed lute (I’m pretty sure he could play at least two solid notes on that bad boy).

Number 8 : Korova Milk Bar (A Clockwork Orange)

If moving into a dystopian future means we get milk bars well then lets toast to the downfall of civilization. Sure, the milk is laced with drugs, but I feel as though I could easily get straight milk, hold the drugs (which is on most days how I prefer my milk). Other then the fact that they serve milk, they also have some of the most strangest tables and décor I have ever seen. I don’t think you really need the drugs in a place like this, because it is kind of already an acid trip fleshed out into real life.

Number 7 : The Leaky Cauldron (Harry Potter)

I could have probably put any Harry Potter bar here, but I decided on The Leaky Cauldron over the Three Broomsticks and Hog’s Head Inn. The problem with the other two is that I feel as though you’d have to deal with annoying wizard students most the year, and listening to them talk about how much they love magic can get pretty annoying over time. So I side with The Leaky Cauldron which since it is an Inn by a major location in this universe you have a more eclectic mix of witches and wizards you can meet there. Fair warning about The Leaky Cauldron though: eat the pea soup before it eats you (you had to have seen that coming).

Number 6 : The Candy Barrel (The Misadventures of Flapjack)

The Misadventures of Flapjack was a cartoon that lasted on Cartoon Network for three seasons between 2008 and 2010. I decided to include the Candy Barrel on this list strictly on account of the absurdity of its premise. The Candy Barrel is exactly what you would think it is, which is a candy bar. You enter through swinging salon doors, take a stool at the bar and order yourself a candy. A candy bar in itself is kind bizarre but The Misadventures of Flapjack took it a step further by introducing the fact that the main characters could buy one piece of candy for the price of one candy wrapper. So basically once you find one candy wrapper you will always get free candy since all candy is wrapped in more wrappers. I am a okay with that.

Number 5 : Chalmun’s Cantina (aka Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars)

This isn’t the place you want to go if you’re attempting to make new friends. So why go to Chalmun’s Cantina? Well apparently there is never a dull moment there. Think about it: in the ten minutes (tops) that we are shown the cantina, someone loses an arm, and a bounty hunter gets killed, and none of the patrons bat one eyelash. That leaves me to believe this place is insane with action all the time if the regulars are so unexplainably immune to such antics. Other then that, I also would really like to see Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes play and since they had to cancel their tour dates of the Deathstar and Alderaan due to destruction this is really the only place to see them.

Number 4 : Puzzles (How I Met Your Mother)

Most People would agree that Maclaren’s should be on this list, but for me its Puzzles all the way. You get the same exact environment as Maclaren’s except you swap out Carl as the bartender for Ted and Barney slinging drinks behind the bar. It’s a win win situation. Plus at Puzzles you are no longer constrained by the common annoying last call rule. At Puzzles, there is no last call.

Number 3 : Winchester (Shaun of The Dead)

If the zombie apocalypse breaks out, this is where I am heading. Sadly, if said events d0 happen I probably wont make due to the fact that it is on a completely different continent then me. So why Winchester? Well I always did enjoy the aesthetics of an English pub. The Winchester just seems like a good place to fort up in if the events of zombies ever did happen. It has beer and pig snacks to fill your belly after all the zombie battling. It has entertainment to pass the time in form of a pool table and a dart board. Its armed with a working decorative hanging shotgun which would come in handy. Most importantly what makes the Winchester great is that it has Queen on the Jukebox.

Number 2 : Flaming Moe’s (The Simpsons)

It’s the home of the drink the Flaming Moe/Flaming Homer. Flaming Moe’s was the name change given to Moe’s Tavern when, with the invention of the Flaming Moe, the bar became more of a Springfield nightlife hotspot. When business started to boom due to the demand of the new drink Moe’s got a little bit fancier what with new neon signs and all. Plus, going to Flaming Moe’s is a lot like going to Moe’s Tavern(which was originally on my list) except its more socially acceptable and Aerosmith plays there.

Number 1 : Snakehole Lounge (Parks and Recreation)

The Snakehole Lounge is as good as it gets in Pawnee. That is, until Tom Haverford finally gets around to opening his own club one day, in which he will either call Club-A-Dub-Dub or the Clubmarine. The Snakehole Lounge is reffered to as “Pawnees sickest nightclub”, which I imagine isn’t much in the way of a great feat to accomplish. Tom Haverford is the promotions director at the bar. Jean-Ralphio Saperstein is also an investor of the establishment. I like to believe that you could go to this bar on any given night of the week (except Sundays and Mondays due to the place being rented out for kids birthday parties and substance abuse meetings on those days) and run into eith Tom Haverford or Jean-Ralphio, which lets admit it is ninety seven percent of the appeal to this place. The other three percent is the ridiculous promotional parties they throw. They threw promotional parties for Tom inventing a new liquor called Snake Juice, and Dennis Feinstein launch party for his new fragrance. It’s very obvious that the Snakehole Lounge is on the up and up, and it’s only matter of time before it’s not just the cultural and social center of Pawnee but of the world in general. Plus, I heard drinking Snake Juice really gets the job done when it comes to getting completely inebriated which is generally the point of going to a bar in the first place.

Honorable Mentions:

Iceberg Lounge (Batman) – It’s all about the décor in this posh nightclub.

Joe’s Bar (Battlestar Galactica) – A great place to grab a drink, lite up a cigar and play some Triad.

Paddys Pub (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia)  – The place is a total dive but I wouldn’t mind sitting there listening to the gang come up with harebrained schemes.

The Bar in Tapper – Why? because I really want my server to sling my beer down to me, and also because some of the patrons of the establishment are aliens.

Borderlands 2 writer Anthony Burch made a little mistake on Twitter. He snapped a pic of sleeping head of VP, Steve Gibson. What he didn’t realize is that a giant banner for the next DLC was in the background.

No release date or official word from Gearbox has been issued. The tweet was removed rather quick, but as Scarlett Johansson can attest to, once online its permanent.
