Disney today released a cool new trailer for the upcoming Monsters Inc. prequel, Monsters University. This preview is much different than the charming first trailer we showed you back in February, focussing almost entirely on the overarching story of the film.

Monsters University hits theatres on June 21st, and looks like a great time! Watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Monsters Inc. released when I was just ten years old, so I’m really looking forward to seeing some new content featuring these characters!

“Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

The anticipated release of Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim is fast approaching, and Warner Bros. has just released an awesome new poster for it. The image showcases a Kaiju in the middle of a city, and as expected, destruction is everywhere.

Pacific Rim hits theatres on July 21st, and I couldn’t be more excited. As far as I’ve been told (especially from the lucky folks who were in attendance at the WonderCon panel back in March), we have no idea what we’re getting ourselves into with this one.

Check out the poster below, and let us know how excited you are!

Pacific-Rim-Poster

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes–a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)–who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Horror fans, here’s the trailer you’ve been waiting for! It’s gory, outrageous, not-safe-for-work, and it looks like a bloody good time. Hatchet III is set to premiere in Los Angeles on June 14th, with a (hopeful) theatrical release coming soon after!

Watch the full trailer below, and let us know what you think! Were you a fan of the first two films?

HATCHET III continues the tale of the now-iconic villain Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). As a search and recovery team heads into the haunted swamp to pick up the pieces and carnage left behind from the first two films, Marybeth (Danielle Harris) hunts down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left the ghost of Victor Crowley haunting and terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.

While the official start of Marvel’s Phase Two is just days away for us North Americans, the Hollywood elite (and plenty of others too by the looks of it) are getting their fill of Tony Stark early… as in right now!

Yahoo! is currently streaming the red carpet event, which looks like an absolute blast. All of the film’s stars look to be in attendance, and I’ve spotted Stan Lee a few times too! Check out the live feed below, and let us know if you’re excited for the film!

Make it to the premiere? Tell us how it was!

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Yesterday, Paramount released seven new character posters for the highly anticipated release of Star Trek Into Darkness. Most of the Enterprise crew was present, but both Scotty and Chekov were noticeably absent from the images. Fans of the two were beginning to wonder what would come of the characters, as neither have been prominently featured during the film’s ongoing marketing campaign.

Fans are in luck. Paramount today released two new posters, spotlighting our missing crew members. Check them out below, and let us know what you think! Star Trek Into Darkness hits theatres on May 17th!

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. After being cancelled, rumoured to return for months, and finally (finally) renewed, the anticipated return of AMC’s The Killing is just over a month away!

Linden and Holder return to television on June 2nd, and this time there’s a serial killer on the loose. EW showed off a revealing new poster for the show’s third season today, and it would appear that our favourite crime fighting duo is up against something very different this year.

Check out the new poster below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to The Killing‘s return!

TheKilling

This is damn cool.

As you may already know, earlier this week Amazon released a plethora of original pilots for you to watch, absolutely free. The idea is that viewers will view, vote, and voice their opinions on each episode, and that the most popular, well received videos will be adapted into full series’. This is a great idea, and a program that ensures that these often quirky, often wonderful labours-of-love will get their fair chance at pleasing viewers everywhere.

Comedy wise, there’s certainly a few big hitters here. Both Zombieland and The Onion are represented, and I’m sure these two have a great shot at getting picked up based on their popularity alone. There is however, one pilot that really stood out from the rest in the list, especially if you’re a fan of Adult Swim-type comedy. It’s a preposterously funny, absurdly clever comedy about two very unlikely heroines. Enter Supanatural.

Supanatural is an animated comedy about two outspoken divas who are humanity’s last line of defense against the supernatural… when they’re not working at the mall. It sounds ridiculous, and it absolutely is. The pilot is a fantastic introduction to the (mis?)adventures of Lucretia and Hezbah.

Take a look at a clip from Supanatural below, and keep scrolling to learn how you can help Supanatural‘s  become a series!

Created by three first-timers, SUPANATURAL was created for all those Adult Swim fans who don’t want to pay for cable or prefer watching their content online. Featuring the voices of Kristen Schaal (BOB’S BURGERS) and Jon Daly (THE KROLL SHOW). These two women stand between humanity and the end of the world, but they need to get time off from the mall first.

So, you’ve watched the clip, checked out the episode, and are in love with it, right? Here’s how you can help Supanatural get a full season order:

-Watch the pilot!
-Make sure you’ve watched it all the way through
-Rate Supanatural on amazonoriginals.com (hopefully 5 stars!)
-Share Supanatural on your favourite social media site!
-Add the season to your watch list.
-Tell your friends!

That’s it! Each of those steps is simple, takes very little time, and of course every rating, vote, comment and share helps! Already seen the pilot? Let us know what you thought of it!

A batch of new character posters for next month’s highly anticipated (UK) release of Star Trek Into Darkness have popped up online. Most of the Enterprise gang is here, with Chekov and Scotty being notably absent from the bunch. Weird.

Take a look at the posters below, and let us know what you think! Star Trek Into Darkness is set to rock our (North American) socks off on May 17th.

This is certainly a surprise. An awesome, awesome surprise.

Ratchet & Clank is headed to the big screen. A movie based on the quirky, cartoonish duo first seen in the 2002 Playstation 2 title is now scheduled to launch in 2015.

Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment have been tasked with adapting the popular franchise (which sadly hasn’t seen a great game since 2009’s A Crack In Time). The script is coming from TJ Fixman, who is better known as a senior writer at Insomniac Games. This should really help the film retain the feel and humour of the Playstation series.

Of course, Ratchet, Clank, and Qwark will be voiced by their usual talent (how could we have it any other way). The plot of the film is currently unknown, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on this one.

Again, the Ratchet & Clank movie is set to hit theatres (in 3D) in 2015! Watch the announcement teaser below, and let us know your thoughts!

Phase Two is nearly here!

Iron Man 3 is just 10 days away (for us North Amercans anyways), and Marvel today released a new TV spot for the highly anticipated film. The new preview features no new footage, but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t excite me anyways.

Watch the new TV spot below, and let us know what you think! Iron Man 3 hits North American theatres on May 3rd. Lucky enough to see the film earlier? Let us know how it is!

A few days ago we showed you some leaked box art for a package titled Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection. Today, Konami made the set official and announced just what was inside. It’s nothing surprising, but still pretty damn cool.

The boxed set is will launch this June, and is set to contain (surprise, surprise) Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2 HD, Metal Gear Solid 3 HD, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD, Metal Gear Solid 4, as well as Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, and some cool digital graphic novels.

MGS

Pricing has not yet been revealed, but I wouldn’t expect it to be cheap, as this certainly seems like more of a collector’s item to me. Read the full press release below, and let us know if you’ll be picking it up!

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today announced it will release METAL GEAR SOLID: THE LEGACY COLLECTION in North America and South America in June 2013.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the METAL GEAR SOLID franchise, this PlayStation®3 exclusive package will include METAL GEAR SOLID, METAL GEAR SOLID 2: HD Edition, METAL GEAR SOLID 3: HD Edition (which includes the original MSX versions of METAL GEAR and METAL GEAR 2), METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker HD Edition, METAL GEAR SOLID: VR MISSIONS and METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Trophy Edition. In addition, the collection will also include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels.

“We wanted to give METAL GEAR SOLID fans the opportunity to experience the series from beginning to end, all on one console,” said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “With the collection’s multiple titles, players can truly see how METAL GEAR SOLID evolved into the critically acclaimed and beloved franchise it is today.”

The METAL GEAR SOLID series is the seminal work of Hideo Kojima, Japan’s master game creator, and the progenitor of the stealth action game genre. With more than 33 million units sold to date, the METAL GEAR series has become a global phenomenon. The player controls a secret agent from an elite special forces unit who is sent on solo stealth missions through enemy installations, vast jungles, and sometimes even the thick of battle. Alone and surrounded by the enemy, even a special forces agent will find it tough to come out alive. But that is the secret behind the series’ popularity-the cerebral challenge of figuring out how to avoid combat, and the thrill of sneaking through enemy territory undetected.

Along with the gameplay, the METAL GEAR SOLID series is also known for its storyline, which blends seamlessly with the gameplay. The scenarios are based on extensive research and incorporate the drama of actual developments in society. These elements have made METAL GEAR SOLID what it is today: a mature work of entertainment that transcends national borders and the confines of video games, and one of the leading products of the Japanese content business.

We’re now (finally) just one day away from the anticipated release of Digital Extremes’ Star Trek: The Video Game. The title’s marketing has made it look pretty damn awesome so far, so I’m really looking forward to hearing what reviewers have to say about it (look for ours soon). Star Trek: The Video Game helps bridge the gap between 2009’s Star Trek and next month’s Star Trek Into Darkness, and will showcase the Gorn stealing the Helios device from the resettling Vulcans.

Watch the launch trailer for the game below, and let us know what you think! This is one movie tie-in that I’m hoping is worth its cover price!

Following the release of the film’s theatrical trailer earlier this month, three new stills from the Kimberly Peirce remake of Carrie have made their way online. They don’t seem to reveal anything new, but are an exciting new look into the film in any case.

Check out the images below, and let us know what you think! Carrie hits theatres on October 18th!

The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

Paramount today released a new TV spot for the wildly anticipated Star Trek Into Darkness. This spot doesn’t seem to feature any new footage, but somehow it still excites the hell out of me.

Star Trek Into Darkness flies into theatres on May 17th. Do you have your tickets yet? Watch the spot below, and let us know what you think!

Last week, we showed you a few images and the first poster for Keanu Reeves upcoming directorial debut, Man of Tai Chi. Today saw the first trailer for the film debut online. It’s short, sweet, and pretty low resolution, but the preview gives us a good sense of what to expect from the feature… and I expect it’ll be pretty rad.

Still no word on when we’ll be watching Man of Tai Chi in North America, but the film is expected to release later this year. Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Star Trek: The Video Game is (finally) just four days away from release! Namco Bandai today released two new behind-the-scenes videos for the title, showcasing plenty of new information including how the game’s sounds were crafted, and just what the story is about.

We’ve been watching progress on the title for some time now, and it’s quite easy to see from these latest videos, just how polished the game has become. Star Trek: The Video Game helps bridge the gap between 2009’s Star Trek, and next month’s Star Trek Into Darkness. The game also features full voice acting from what looks like all of the movie’s stars.

Watch the new videos below, and let us know if you’re planning to pick up the game! Star Trek: The Video Game hits shelves on April 23rd!

Marvel has just released the first poster for their second Phase Two film, Alan Taylor’s Thor: The Dark World. It’s a simple image that doesn’t reveal much of anything, but it’s an exciting preview of what’s to come.

Thor: The Dark World stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings, and plenty of others! Check out the poster below, and let us know what you think!

Thor The Dark World Teaser Poster2

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.  In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.  Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Thor: The Dark World hits theaters November 8, 2o13

Earlier this month we showed you the very first, rather red-band trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn’s follow up to 2011’s Drive, Only God Forgives.

If you liked the pairing of Refn’s amazing style and attention to detail, and Ryan Gosling’s cool, calm performance, you’re in for an absolute treat here, as the duo has teamed up again for this one.

It’s a great trailer for what looks to be a phenomenal movie. Watch it below, and let us know what you think! Only God Forgives hits theatres on July 19th.

Julian (Gosling) lives in exile in Bangkok where he runs a Thai boxing club as a front for the family’s drugs smuggling operation. When Julian’s brother Billy is killed their mother, Jenna (Kristen Scott Thomas), arrives in the city. She wants revenge and forces Julian to find the killer. Julian’s contacts in the criminal underworld lead him directly to The Angel of Vengeance, a retired police officer who knows everything and who is both Judge and Punisher. Jenna demands that Julian kill The Angel of Vengeance, an act that will cost him dearly.

You folks are going to be torn on this one.

A remake of the 1985 John Hughes classic Weird Science has just been greenlit at Universal. Joel Silver (who produced the original) is set to produce the remake, while 21 Jump Street writer Michael Bacall will pen the script.

Weird Science is likely to go R-Rated, much like last year’s 80’s remake 21 Jump Street (which was surprisingly hilarious). Nothing more is known about the project at this time, including who will direct and who will star. The original featured Anthony Michael Hall, Kelly LeBrock, Bill Paxton, and Robert Downey Jr.

Whether you like it or not, it’s happening. Who would you like to see in starring roles? Also, apparently I’ve never seen Weird Science. Weird, huh?

Did I mention that it was a good day to be a Nintendo fan?

Big news was aplenty at today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. First, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages are coming to the 3DS eShop this May. Second, EarthBound (FREAKING EarthBound!) is being rereleased on the Wii U Virtual Console later this year. Third, Pikmin 3 finally got a release date (August 4th).

How could things get any better? How about a follow-up to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past?

You read that right. The oft-rumoured, oft-desired, yet never-existent sequel to 1992’s most beloved adventure game is currently in development over at the big N. The game will feature the same top-down look and feel (though this time in glorious 3D, and without sprites) as the original game did, but with an all-new plot, and plenty of fresh mechanics.

Nintendo released a cool trailer for the game (also available in 3D via the 3DS eShop) showing us what we can expect. The (currently untitled) Link to the Past follow-up is slated to hit the 3DS later in 2013. Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think!

This is going to make a lot of money.

We all (well, most of us) shat our pants in excitement when Disney revealed J.J. Abrams as the director of Star Wars: Episode VII. We also knew full well that the House of Mouse was planning spinoff titles, with a possibility of each film focussing on a specific character.

We knew the what, but aside from Episode VII‘s 2015 release date, we had no idea when to expect this ball to start rolling. As Disney revealed today at CinemaCon, they’re planning to kick things off pretty rapidly.

After Star Wars: Episode VII‘s launch in Summer 2015, the company will release a new film in the Star Wars franchise every single year. You read that right. 2016, 2017, 2018, and onward, a new Star Wars film will be released. Now, not all of these will be continuations of the main series; after Episode VII will come a spinoff, then Episode VIII, another spinoff, rinse and repeat.

The galaxy far, far away is about to get a lot more crowded. Are you excited?

I can't even begin to imagine what an image like this would look like in five years.
I can’t even begin to imagine what an image like this would look like in five years.

Well that was quick.

Barely two months have passed since Amazon revealed that the company would be producing a series based on 2009’s Zombieland, and today, they released the pilot online.

We first received casting news for the anticipated pilot back in February, when Kirk Ward joined the project as Tallahassee. The pilot also stars Izabela Vidovic as Little Rock, Malara Walsh as Wichita, and Tyler Ross as Columbus.

Of course, the Zombieland project began as a television show, long before it turned into a feature film, so it’ll be quite interesting to see it in the format it was originally envisioned. Zombieland creators Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returned to write the series, so hopefully it retains the same feel as the movie did.

US residents can head to Amazon and check out the 29-minute pilot episode. Everyone else, you’ll have to settle for the trailer. Already watch it? Let us know what you thought!

Aside from the eShop release date of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages finally being revealed, today’s Nintendo Direct presentation was ripe with plenty of other awesome news for Nintendo fans.

Arguably the biggest, most exciting, and most surprising aspect of the presentation was the revelation that EarthBound is finally coming to the Virtual Console. The game originally released on the Super Nintendo in 1995 to very poor sales, and has since become a valuable collectable that few have had the opportunity to actually experience. Critically, the game was a great success, and the cult classic status that EarthBound has garnered over the years means that I hear about the game on a weekly basis, but have never had the chance to actually play it.

A release date has not been set, but EarthBound will hit the Wii U Virtual Console later in 2013.

After all these years of begging for it, I guess Nintendo finally heard us. What do you think of the news?

MachPizza_Exterior_Threed

Back in February, Nintendo announced the digital rerelease of the acclaimed portable Zelda adventures, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. The Capcom developed Game Boy Color titles originally released in 2001 to much fanfare, and while Japan only at first, Nintendo assured fans that the rerelease would eventually be hitting North American consoles too.

We now know just when we’ll be able to jump back into Holodrum and Labrynna, and it’s just over a month away. Mark your calendars: May 30th is the day you’ll be able to relive these amazing adventures.

I couldn’t be more excited, how about you?

Today’s Nintendo Direct presentation featured plenty of other great news too. Look for more coverage coming later today!

It’s been a busy day for Zack Snyder. Shortly after releasing the second theatrical trailer for Man of Steel, Zack Snyder revealed the very first poster for the upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire. Now, Snyder didn’t direct this one (likely being unfathomably busy with Man of Steel), though he is acting as a producer. Noam Murro is at the helm of this prequel, which retells the naval battle of Artemesia, and shows just how Xerces came to become a god-king.

300: Rise of an Empire stars Lena Headey, Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, and plenty of others. The movie hits theatres on August 2nd! Check out the first poster below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to it!

At last week’s Las Vegas CinemaCon, the first teaser poster for Universal’s upcoming adaptation of Dark Horse Comics’ R.I.P.D. was spotted in the wild. Today, that poster was officially released in a much higher resolution.

Take a look at the poster below, and let us know what you think! R.I.P.D. stars Jeff Bridges, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon, and Mary Louise-Parker, and will hit theatres on July 19th!

RIPD

The Dark Horse comic R.I.P.D. is adapted by Universal Pictures with this fantasy crime film focusing on a newly deceased cop (Ryan Reynolds) who’s drafted into a squad of zombie cops that battle the supernatural. Red’s Robert Schwentke directs, with Jeff Bridges co-starring as his partner and Kevin Bacon playing the villain.

The first trailer for R.I.P.D. is set to premiere with Friday’s Oblivion, so look for it online soon!

The newest trailer for the latest Netflix original series, Hemlock Grove has just been released online. If you missed the ‘Red Band’ moniker in the post’s title, here’s one further warning: the preview earned its red band by featuring scenes of mild fornication, fellatio, heavy cocaine use, lesbian necrophilia,  and violent hemorrhaging. If you’re sensitive to graphic imagery, or are a small child, DON’T WATCH THE TRAILER BELOW! Everyone else, enjoy!

The show looks pretty damn cool, doesn’t it? The first season of the Eli Roth produced Hemlock Grove hits Netflix on April 19th! Interested in its source material? Hemlock Grove is based on a novel by Brian McGreevy.

Our very own Kari Lane was lucky enough to attend the show’s panel at WonderCon last month, read her recap for even more info!

Wow. This trailer is flat out amazing.

Paramount has just debuted a new (and final) theatrical trailer for JJ Abrams wildly anticipated Star Trek Into Darkness. The preview doesn’t feature much new footage, but the simple way that everything is cut together makes for an emotional 2.5 minutes. It’s goosebump inducing, really.

Star Trek Into Darkness hits theatres on May 17th, and we couldn’t be more excited! Watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!

In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. The annual LA Games Conference is right around the corner (it’s THIS week to be exact), and both the conference’s agenda and featured speakers have now been revealed. Some of the many highlights (for me anyways) include thatgamecompany co-founder Jenova Chen, Activision’s Jonathan Anastas, and Ubisoft’s Chris Early.

The conference takes place this Thursday and Friday (April 18th and 19th), and will feature 11 panels, 3 keynotes, 3 roundtables discussions, and 3 featured presentations, as well as countless exhibits and demos.
