As you may have gathered from our Jason Takes Manhattan episode, we did a live taping recently after Monster Mania 36; in the likelihood that you, dear listeners, weren’t able to make it to the live show, we were thoughtful/sadistic enough to tape the show, and this week’s episode is the second half of our set, in which we lovingly eviscerate 1991’s ironically-named “final” installment in the NOES franchise, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare! The hits come faster and harder than Breckin Meyer doing bong rips, so get yourself a drink and fire up your Powerglove for another episode of Horror Movie Night!

Can you believe that the Double Dare game show is 30 years old? Well Nick can, and they’re celebrating it in style by hosting a live episode of it at comic con this year!

That’s right, Nick will be going all out and be hosting a live episode of Double Dare Friday July 22nd at 9:30 PM PST on The Splat’s Facebook page for anyone interested in watching it. Not just that, but they were also able to get original host Marc Summers to come back and host just for the very occasion! Challenges like the wringer, hamster wheel, and yes, even the big nose are set to make an appearance, and much more. The Splat will also be providing a behind the scenes look and a Q&A all day throughout their social media channels, so make sure to be tuned to them.

Are you excited to see a brand new episode of Double Dare? What  was your favorite challenge on the show? Comment below and tell us!

At the D23 Expo this past weekend, the cast of A Goofy Movie, the mid-90’s father-son film that has since become a cult classic, reunited to discuss the film 20 years after its release. Bill Farmer and James Marsden, who played Goofy and Max respectively, took the stage alongside the rest of the voice cast while the folks in the crowd got their own cans of Cheese Whiz to craft their own leaning towers.

But more importantly than all of this, (if that wasn’t awesome enough,) Powerline himself took the stage with a full performance of I2I from the film! 90’s R&B singer Tevin Campbell, flanked with a set of backup dancers, reenacted the final moments of the film in what was the most amazing thing to happen at D23, if not ever.

Watch the performance and tell us how much you agree! Any fond memories of A Goofy Movie? Comment below and see if we see eye to eye!

Harmonix has announced nearly a dozen new songs that are set to launch on disc with Rock Band 4. As expected, these songs span generations of music that we can’t wait to rock out with.

Check out the new songs below:

  • Aerosmith – “Toys in the Attic”

  • The Cure – “Friday I’m In Love”

  • Dream Theater – “Metropolis –  Part 1 “The Miracle And The Sleeper””

  • Foo Fighters – “The Feast and the Famine”

  • Judas Priest – “Halls Of Valhalla”

  • Live – “All Over You”

  • The Outfield – “Your Love”

  • Ozzy Osbourne – “Miracle Man”

  • Paramore – “Still Into You”

  • St. Vincent – “Birth In Reverse”

  • Van Morrison – “Brown Eyed Girl”

These songs join tracks from Jack White, Elvis Presley, Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers and many many more, on top of the hundreds of downloadable songs already available from previous games. With current gen versions supporting our old instruments, it just might be time to dust them off and get the band back together.

Want to sample some of the tracks and get that singing voice ready? Check out the official Spotify playlist now! Until then, join us in counting the days until Rock Band 4 returns on October 6th for PS4 and Xbox One.

Big news, Geekscapists, that a lot of you have been wanting for months now… NEW WEEKLY EPISODES OF THE GEEKSCAPE PODCAST!

We’ve been on this journey for 8 years now. Looking back, I can hardly believe it. Putting together Geekscape, the podcast, the site, the community and more has been one of the most rewarding things in my life. But it’s also been a small army’s worth of work. There’s no way I could do it without the help of everyone involved today or in years past. And of course I couldn’t do it without you.

And now I have some good news as a sign of thank you! After a sporadic first nine months of 2014, the Geekscape podcast is returning to a weekly schedule! This was the seed from which our little community was born and it’s about time we watered it!

Now hosted exclusively on Soundcloud, and still distributed on iTunes, Podcast One and Stitcher, the Geekscape podcast will also now be recorded weekly LIVE IN STUDIO with our friends at TradioV! Every Monday at 7pm PST!

And because we hate wasting time… we’re starting it all up THIS MONDAY, OCTOBER 6th, at 7pm PST!

Our friends Linus and Parry from Nerf Herder (the Buffy the Vampire Slayer theme song) are our first guests!

This includes a live and recorded in studio video stream for you to watch each week! Just like with our friends at Toadhop, you can call also in live and be a part of the show yourself!

I am so happy to be returning to a studio to do the show. Not only does it help ensure a better sounding show, it makes it easier for me to deliver an episode each week and bring in bigger and better guests for all of you! And you can watch it and call in! Those are the things I always wanted the show to include and I’ve been working hard to bring them to you.

You’ll definitely want to subscribe to our Soundcloud page and catch our first episode back this Monday at TradioV!

Thanks for being a part of this journey, whether this is your first time with Geekscape or if you’ve been with us for 8+ years! We’re going to have a lot more fun for even more years to come!

While the official start of Marvel’s Phase Two is just days away for us North Americans, the Hollywood elite (and plenty of others too by the looks of it) are getting their fill of Tony Stark early… as in right now!

Yahoo! is currently streaming the red carpet event, which looks like an absolute blast. All of the film’s stars look to be in attendance, and I’ve spotted Stan Lee a few times too! Check out the live feed below, and let us know if you’re excited for the film!

Make it to the premiere? Tell us how it was!

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
