No, you’re not dreaming – it’s happening all over again.

Nintendo unexpectedly announced that they will be releasing the SNES Classic Edition, fully loaded with 21 games! The mini console will launch September 29th, for $79.99, and will include my personal favorite, Star Fox 2!

Now, Star Fox 2 does need to be unlocked by beating the first level of Star Fox 1, but aside from that, all games will be playable out of the box. Even for $80 this is an insanely good value as games like Earthbound, and Super Mario RPG come with the system. Hopefully SNES Classic can support future add ons, because having an SNES without all 3 Donkey Kong Country games feels . . . dirty. Nonetheless I’m really excited for this console (re?) release! What’s your favorite game out of the 21? Tell us in the comments below!

Fans have begged for it for years, and Nintendo has heard us. After what felt like forever, it seems like the company has finally acknowledged our pleas for a Western release of Mother 3. That’s right! Following their recent trend of surprise releases, a trip to the eShop shows that we’ll finally be able to play the game we’ve been waiting for! It’s…

Mother 1!?

That’s right, the EarthBound game that no one asked for is now available on the Wii U eShop! Following Ninten, a boy with psychic powers, he’s tasked with traveling the world in search for the hidden melodies that will help fight off an alien threat. Originally released for the NES exclusively in Japan, the newly dubbed EarthBound Beginnings gives us the chance to experience the game that started the cult favorite for the first time!

I said it before, but it’s worth saying again. Between this announcement and the Smash DLC shown off earlier in the day, if this is Nintendo’s pre-E3 showing, what could they possibly have in store for the actual show? Could Mother 3 actually make an appearance!?

Let the speculation continue! Tell us what you hope to see, and if you plan on giving this title a chance, crushing difficulty and all! Until then, keep checking back with us for all your E3 news!

Aside from the eShop release date of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages finally being revealed, today’s Nintendo Direct presentation was ripe with plenty of other awesome news for Nintendo fans.

Arguably the biggest, most exciting, and most surprising aspect of the presentation was the revelation that EarthBound is finally coming to the Virtual Console. The game originally released on the Super Nintendo in 1995 to very poor sales, and has since become a valuable collectable that few have had the opportunity to actually experience. Critically, the game was a great success, and the cult classic status that EarthBound has garnered over the years means that I hear about the game on a weekly basis, but have never had the chance to actually play it.

A release date has not been set, but EarthBound will hit the Wii U Virtual Console later in 2013.

After all these years of begging for it, I guess Nintendo finally heard us. What do you think of the news?
