Briefly: I still need to watch the finale, but so far True Detective has been an absolutely incredible ride.

For those that missed the miniseries, HBO has just revealed the first season’s Blu-Ray release details. The set will release on June 10th, and cost you $79.99 for Blu-Ray (just $10 per episode…), and $59.99 on DVD.

True Detective focuses on Martin Hart (Harrelson) and Rust Cohle (McConaughey), two detectives and former partners who worked in Louisiana’s Criminal Investigation Division in the mid-1990s. At first glance, Hart and Cohle couldn’t be more different. Hart, a native Louisianan, is an outgoing family man with two kids, whose marriage to wife Maggie (Michelle Monaghan, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) is buckling under the stress of the job. Cohle, a former undercover narcotics detective from Texas, embraces isolation, articulating a pessimistic, even bleak, world view. But they share an obsession with justice and a facility for violence that will inflict irreparable damage on both men. In 2012, the two are interviewed separately by investigators about their most notorious case: the macabre 1995 murder of a prostitute by a possible serial killer with disturbing occult leanings. As they look back on the case, Hart and Cohle’s lives collide and entwine in unexpected, sometimes catastrophic ways, and their personal backstories and often-strained relationship become a major focal point of the investigation.

Along with the episodes, the set will also feature a myriad of interesting special features:

-Making True Detective – A behind-the-scenes look at production on the hit series, featuring interviews with cast and crew and including never-before-seen footage from Episode 4.

-Up Close with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson – Exclusive interviews with the stars about filming the series.

-A Conversation with Nic Pizzolatto and T Bone Burnett – An in-depth discussion with the series writer/creator/executive producer and the legendary composer on both the series and the pivotal role music played in the show’s development.

-Inside the Episode – Series creator/executive producer/writer Nic Pizzolatto and director Cary Joji Fukunaga discuss character development and offer insights into each episode of the series.

-Two audio commentaries – Featuring series creator/executive producer/writer Nic Pizzolatto, composer T Bone Burnett and Executive Producer Scott Stephens.

-Deleted Scenes – Never-before-seen episodic footage from the series.

Will you be picking up the set? Already watch the series? What did you think? Sound out below!

Briefly: Back in January, Legendary Entertainment revealed that, just like last year’s Pacific RimGodzilla would also be getting a prequel graphic novel.

Today, Legendary revealed the bad-ass cover for the book. The 80-page story, set decades before the film, is co-written by Max Borenstein (screenwriter of the new Godzilla) and Greg Borenstein.

Godzilla: Awakening is illustrated by Eric Battle (X-Men, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman), Yvel Guichet (Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero, Superboy Annual, End of Nations), Alan Quah (Rage, The Vampire Diaries, Anywhere) and Lee Loughridge (Batman Adventures, Arkham Asylum: Living Hell, Marvel Zombies Return), and features cover art by Arthur Adams (Godzilla, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Uncanny X-Men).

You can take a look at the cover below, and be sure to let us know what you think. Godzilla hits theatres on May 16th, while Godzilla: Awakening will release on May 7th.

Briefly: If you’ve written off the Brett Ratner directed, Dwayne Johnson starring Hercules up to this point, you should definitely give it another chance. The first trailer for the film has just debuted online, and it’s actually pretty bad-ass.

The Rock looks great, the creatures look great, and the thing looks epic as hell.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think. Hercules stars Dwayne Johnson, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, John Hurt, Rebecca Ferguson, Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Aksel Hennie, and Reece Ritchie, and hits theatres on July 25th.

Briefly: Warner Bros. has just released a new (and way better than the first) trailer for the June sci-fi thriller Edge of Tomorrow.

It stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Jeremy Piven, and plenty of others in what basically looks like Groundhog Day and Independence Day all mashed together (with just a little bit of Source Code thrown in for good measure).

I wasn’t overly impressed with the first trailer, but this new video actually made me want to check it out. In any case, you can take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Edge of Tomorrow hits theatres on June 6th, 2014!

The epic action of “Edge of Tomorrow” unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.

Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again.

But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Briefly: Another day, another character shot from Fox’s Gotham.

Today, it’s Robin Lord Taylor’s turn, who will play Oswald Cobblepot in the upcoming series. His official character description reads that “With the brains of a chess grandmaster and the morals of a jackal, Oswald Cobblepot is a low-level psychopath (for gangster Fish Mooney) who hides his sadistic lust for power behind an exquisitely polite demeanour.”

Take a look at the photo below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to Gotham.

Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker?

“Gotham” is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), “Gotham” follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.

Growing up in Gotham City’s surrounding suburbs, James Gordon (Ben McKenzie, “Southland,” “The O.C.”) romanticized the city as a glamorous and exciting metropolis where his late father once served as a successful district attorney. Now, two weeks into his new job as a Gotham City detective and engaged to his beloved fiancée, Barbara Kean (Erin Richards, Open Grave, “Breaking In”), Gordon is living his dream – even as he hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid.

Brave, honest and ready to prove himself, the newly-minted detective is partnered with the brash, but shrewd police legend Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue, “Sons of Anarchy,” “Terriers,” “Vikings,” “Copper”), as the two stumble upon the city’s highest-profile case ever: the murder of local billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. At the scene of the crime, Gordon meets the sole survivor: the Waynes’ hauntingly intense 12-year-old son, Bruce (David Mazouz, “Touch”), toward whom the young detective feels an inexplicable kinship. Moved by the boy’s profound loss, Gordon vows to catch the killer.

As he navigates the often-underhanded politics of Gotham’s criminal justice system, Gordon will confront imposing gang boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith, The Matrix films, “HawthoRNe,” Collateral), and many of the characters who will become some of fiction’s most renowned, enduring villains, including a teenaged Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman (acting newcomer Camren Bicondova) and Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor, “The Walking Dead,” Another Earth).

Although the crime drama will follow Gordon’s turbulent and singular rise through the Gotham City police department, led by Police Captain Sarah Essen (Zabryna Guevara, “Burn Notice”), it also will focus on the unlikely friendship Gordon forms with the young heir to the Wayne fortune, who is being raised by his unflappable butler, Alfred (Sean Pertwee, “Camelot,” “Elementary”). It is a friendship that will last them all of their lives, playing a crucial role in helping the young boy eventually become the crusader he’s destined to be.

Briefly: While it was announced that a Deus Ex: Human Revolution feature film was in the works all the way back in 2012, we haven’t heard any news of the film since (though a new Deus Ex game has been announced).

A short film that was just released by Machinima should be able to fill that void for some time, because it’s freaking awesome. I’ve been a big fan of the Deus Ex series since playing the first game for Playstation 2 in my early teens, and I feel as though this short is a fantastic representation of what a feature could look like.

The video describes itself as:

Based on the video game Deus Ex Human Revolution, the film dives into the world of Adam Jensen, a serif industries’ security consultant that gets augmented after an incident that almost took his life away. Although the film doesn’t follow the narrative of the game exactly, it remains true to the theme while focusing on the relationship between Adam Jensen, and his ex girlfriend Megan Reed, a scientist hand picked by Serif Industries to head Cybernetic Augmentations. Megan is taken by the Illuminati and is asked to assist them in turning on a mysterious device but she refuses to cooperate. Jensen has been looking for Megan since she was kidnapped and has finally pinpointed her location. Adam faces a complication that he did not account for; Yelena Federova, an Augmented assassin is at the facility where Megan is being held. The film also taps, even if briefly, into Adam’s mind and the struggle he must face on daily basis.

The short was directed by Moe Charif, who you’ll also see in the video as Adam Jensen. Take a look at Human Revolution – Deus Ex below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea is finally set to conclude today, and Irrational Games has just debuted the launch trailer for the anticipated DLC.

Sadly, it’s also the final release that we’ll see from the now-closed developer. Ken Levine announced back in February that the studio would be shutting down, making today bittersweet day, as the studio was responsible for some of the best games of this generation.

Take a look at the launch trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be playing today. The DLC will be available as soon as the respectable stores are updated.

Briefly: Back in December we showed you the first trailer for Dean Israelite’s feature debut, Welcome To Yesterday.

The film was set to hit theatres later this year, but Paramount announced today that the film has been retitled to Project Almanac, and will now tentatively release in January 2015.

From the trailer (which you can watch below), the movie looks like an extremely fresh take on the beyond-tired found footage genre, and I can’t wait to see more from the picture.

Are you looking forward to the film? Sound out below!

Briefly: Now that the wearable computing market is here in full force (well, almost; it’ll be some time before products like Google Glass are available and affordable for the general public), and companies are finally aware that these products will sell (Pebble Inc. is making a lot of money last I heard) a myriad of new wearable devices are coming to market. Many are not-as-good variations of what the Pebble has already done so well (*cough* Galaxy Gear), and then there are the products that are actually trying to do something different.

Enter the Rufus Cuff, an interesting and intriguing product that mashes Sci-Fi style with, well, today.

The Rufus Cuff labels itself as a “wrist communicator”, and that’s exactly what it looks like. The device features voice control, a 3″ capacitive touchscreen, notification and control support for your smartphone, as well as full access to the Google Play store on its own. The Rufus Cuff also hosts a unique, wrist-friendly UI, that looks as though it will be extremely easy to read and understand, even while on the go.

I could go on and on about the features of the Rufus Cuff, or you can watch what it can do in the IndieGogo video from Rufus Labs:

It may look a little odd on the wrists of the video’s models, but I believe that’s simply because a device like this is so far and away from what we expect to see on someone’s wrist. The future is coming faster than we may expect it to, and it’s devices like the Rufus Cuff that will be at its forefront.

There are great rewards available to backers of the Rufus Cuff’s IndieGogo campaign, including the device in custom colours, special edition units, and even one reward level that includes 40 Rufus Cuffs.

You can head here to learn more about the project, and to become a backer yourself!

Briefly: We’re now just a few weeks away from the highly anticipated release of Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and a new featurette for the film has just debuted online.

In the video, The Walking Dead VFX Supervisor Greg Nicotero and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 VFX Supervisor Jerome Chan chat about… well, what else? VFX of course!

With The Walking Dead‘s fourth season coming to a close next Sunday, and The Amazing Spider Man 2 launching just a few week’s later (not to mention Captain America: The Winter Soldier next week), it’s clearly a fantastic time to be a geek. Take a look at the short featurette below, and let us know what you think!

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

Briefly: Back in January, American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy revealed that the series’ fourth season would be set in the 1950’s, and that series regular Jessica Lange would be returning for another year.

Today, he revealed this year’s official title:

Entertainment Weekly has expanded further on the announcement, revealing that the season is”Set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950, Freak Show finds Jessica Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S.”

EW also has the list of returning cast (so far), which features Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy, while Dennis O’Hare and Emma Roberts are still in negotiations.

Are you looking forward to another year of American Horror Story? What do you hope to see in the season?

Briefly: All the way back in January, Geekscape Games reviewed one of the best (and definitely the most addicting) games currently available on the Playstation Vita, OlliOlli.

The game is basically a side-scrolling Tony Hawk title (before the series sucked) mashed with an extremely fast paced (and challenging) platformer. The game is a ton of fun, and unfortunately I still haven’t made it on top of the Daily Grind leaderboard; that feat is about to get even harder too, as Roll7’s OlliOlli has just been confirmed for PS3 and PS4.

The announcement states that “OlliOlli will remain a PS Vita exclusive until summer 2014 and Roll7 is very close to getting the crash bug that some of you have complained about fixed. When the patch is released we’ll bundle in a nice little update that should put a smile on people’s faces too.”

If you can’t wait until the Summer, OlliOlli is currently available on PSN (for Vita, of course). Whatever the platform, you need to play this game.

Briefly: Following that new still from a week back (and the trailer teaser from a few days ago), Fox has finally debuted a second trailer for May’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

This trailer shows much more than the ‘cast recap’ trailer that we saw back in October, and it features some absolutely gorgeous shots and reveals. I don’t want to spoil things, so just take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think. X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Fox has also released a cool new poster for the movie:

DoFPNew

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

Briefly: Following the first photo of Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock from yesterday, Fox has debuted the first official still of Camren Bicondova’s Selina Kyle.

Kyle’s official character description reads that she is “a teenage orphan who is suspicious and wholly unpredictable. A street thief and skilled pickpocket, she’s dangerous when cornered.”

Take a look at the still below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: A few days back, Shane published what turned out to be an extremely-legitimate leak of the next Assassin’s Creed game, subtitled Unity.

Today, Ubisoft confirmed the title’s existence with a teaser trailer. Most of the leaked information on the title appears to be correct, including the fact that it will release only on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Not having to keep older platforms in mind should help Ubisoft craft something absolutely beautiful here; I remember how gorgeous ACIV looked on the PS4 just a few months back, and this will surely blow it out of the water.

Here’s what Ubisoft had to say about the announcement:

We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years, and wanted to find the perfect time to give you an early taste of the game. Apparently though, the Templar Order was hungry to know more right now. To this, we say “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche!” (“Let them eat cake!”). Help yourself to a serving of the first official footage from the next-gen only Assassin’s Creed Unity. Stay tuned – we’ll have many more exciting details for you in the future.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: The Raid 2 is nearly here (time for a rematch of the first film) and IGN has a new internet trailer to wet your whistle (yeah I said that) for the next seven days.

The trailer as expected, features a ton of insane, cringe-inducing action, and it’ll have you seriously ready for more at the end of its 81 seconds.

Take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think. The Raid 2 hits theatres on March 28th!

He thought it was over. After fighting his way out of a building filled with gangsters and madmen – a fight that left the bodies of police and gangsters alike piled in the halls – rookie Jakarta cop Rama thought it was done and he could resume a normal life. He couldn’t have been more wrong.

Formidable though they may have been, Rama’s opponents in that fateful building were nothing more than small fish swimming in a pond much larger than he ever dreamed possible. And his triumph over the small fry has attracted the attention of the predators farther up the food chain. His family at risk, Rama has only one choice to protect his infant son and wife: He must go undercover to enter the criminal underworld himself and climb through the hierarchy of competing forces until it leads him to the corrupt politicians and police pulling the strings at the top of the heap.

And so Rama begins a new odyssey of violence, a journey that will force him to set aside his own life and history and take on a new identity as the violent offender “Yuda.” In prison he must gain the confidence of Uco – the son of a prominent gang kingpin – to join the gang himself, laying his own life on the line in a desperate all-or-nothing gambit to bring the whole rotten enterprise to an end.

Briefly: While it didn’t make its original 2013 release date, Machinegames Wolfenstein: The New Order is finally set to launch on May 20th.

Publisher Bethesda Softworks has just debuted a new gameplay trailer for the title, which takes us on a train from Poland to Berlin, with (of course) Nazi’s and robots aplenty.

The game has been developed using id Software’s Tech5 engine, which is why this title is looking awfully pretty. You can take a look at the video below, and be sure to let us know what you think. Again, Wolfenstein: The New Order hits store shelves on May 20th, and will be available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and PC.

Briefly: It was barely a month ago that we learned of Donal Logue’s casting as Harvey Bullock in Fox’s Gotham, and we already have the first official shot of his character.

The official description for the character reads that “Jim Gordon’s partner and mentor, the rough-around-the-edges Detective Harvey Bullock plays loose with police procedure, but he gets results … and he does it with old-school, forceful panache.”

Take a look at the shot below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the series.

This is a very cool project, and is most definitely a film that I’d love to see completed.

Nightmare Code utilizes surveillance cameras, PC cam, video call capture and eyeglasscam to tell the story of a troubled software start-up that is creating an advanced form of behavior recognition software capable of reading the thoughts and feelings of people on camera regardless of what they’re actually saying.

The team behind the project has been working on the film for more than two years, and they’re getting close to the finish line, but they need our help if they’re going to cross it. The film features a ton of talent that have worked on a multitude of other projects, including The Walking Dead, Castle, CSI, Nip/Tuck, X-Men: The Last Stand, Parenthood, Mad Men, The FP, True Blood, and plenty more, so there are some absolutely fantastic people involved here.

The team is looking for $30,000 to finish the film, and with two weeks left they’re sitting at 52% of that goal. Here’s the breakdown of where this money is set to be used:

20140225231621-Where_your_money_goes_graphic-01

As always, there are plenty of fantastic backer rewards up for grabs, but Nightmare Code also features a unique one. While lots of crowd funding projects offer backers the opportunity to be in a film, it usually requires the backer to be located in a certain area; because of the unique way that Nightmare Code is filmed and presented, backers can record their segments from anywhere. Pretty cool, huh? Other perks include t-shirts, digital downloads of the film and its soundtrack, signed posters, screening invitations, producer credits, and more!

You can take a look at the campaign video for Nightmare Code below, and head here to back the project!

Briefly: We’re just five days away from the anticipated release of Bioshock Infinite: Burial At Sea‘s second chapter, and Irrational Games has release a trio of new screenshots for the DLC.

In the shots, we see more of Rapture’s innate beauty, and also Elizabeth, looking extremely battered and bloody.

Take a look at the new screenshots below, and let us know what you hope to see in the DLC! Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea – Episode 2 releases on March 25th!

Briefly: Sure, the Transformers: Age of Extinction IMAX poster was pretty cool, but the just released IMAX one-sheet for Captain America: The Winter Soldier is freaking gorgeous.

Take a look at the poster below, and if you missed it, watch the first 10 minutes of the movie here. Excited? You should be! Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theatres on April 4th!

CapIMAX

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier finds Steve Rogers – aka Captain America – living quietly in Washington, DC, and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy – the Winter Soldier.

Briefly: Machinima is great at adapting popular properties into content that fans and non-fans alike can enjoy, and there’s nothing more popular right now than Titanfall. While I haven’t played the game yet (Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare hasn’t left my console in weeks), our very own Josh Jackson thoroughly enjoyed it (check out his review here), along with hundred of thousands of other Xbox One and PC gamers that can’t seem to put the title down.

Titanfall: Dropouts is a scripted comedy series that follows two buddy engineers, Dex and Gif, who are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and deployment of Titans from the ships hovering above the battlegrounds to the Titan pilots fighting below. Every week one Pilot will have to overcome Dex and Gif’s incompetence, whether forgetting to turn on the landing rockets so the Titan craters into the ground, changing the Titan’s onboard computer voice to Russian, or refusing to send help because they feel the Pilot cheated them in poker last night.

It’s simple, and it’s hilarious, and you can watch the pilot below. Be sure to let us know what you think, and be sure to watch out for the next episode!

Briefly: Following the humorous featurette from a few days back, HBO has just released a brand new trailer for the next season of Game of Thrones.

The video clocks in at just over a minute and a half, and seems to include mostly new, mostly exciting new footage, so take a look at the video below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see when Game of Thrones premieres on April 6th!

Briefly: I’ve had pretty mixed feelings for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 marketing thus far; we’ll get a great trailer, followed by a poor one, followed by a great clip, and then a stupid on, and so on. I’m happy to say that the film’s just-released final trailer falls in the positive category.

It features a ton of new footage, and it also gives us our first non-still look at the still stupid-looking Green Goblin, as well as the actually-pretty-cool-in-motion Rhino.

In any case, take a look at the new trailer below, and remember that the best promises are the ones you can’t keep. The Amazing Spider-Man hits theatres on May 2nd.

Briefly: During tonight’s airing of the Marvel Studios: Assembling A Universe documentary (which I haven’t had a chance to watch yet, but heard was awesome), Marvel debuted a few stills of concept art from next year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, including our first looks at Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

Quicksilver is a stark (and welcome) difference from the version that Evan Peters will play in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it’s great to finally see what Elizabeth Olsen will look like in the film (though it doesn’t exactly look like a final costume, does it).

You can take a look at the stills below (including a few extras, check out Iron Man’s Hulkbuster armour), and be sure to let us know which Quicksilver you prefer! Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theatres on May 1st, 2015.

Briefly: The next Ghostbusters is finally, finally, finally happening… soon.

Deadline reports that Sony Pictures is set to start production of the film in early 2015, and that following the death of Harold RamisGhostbusters and Ghostbusters II director Ivan Reitman has decided not to direct the feature. Instead, he and Sony Pictures chairman Amy Pascal will hunt for a new director for the film.

In speaking to Deadline, Reitman stated that “There has been all kinds of stuff, unofficially written aboutGhostbusters. I’ve been reading things online for about four years, speculation on who’s writing, what they’re writing, who’s in it, who we will use, and who’s directing. We’d decided not to comment up till now, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, and it was never clear what Bill was going to do. A lot of things happened in the last few months, the most significant of which was the passing of Harold, who was a very good friend who was extraordinarily influential in my career. We did five movies together including both Ghostbusters.”

You can head to Deadline for Reitman’s full statement, but be sure to let us know who you would like to see direct the film. Can you believe that after all of these years, we’re going to get another Ghostbusters?

Briefly: As short as Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is (I finished the main mission in 90 minutes, though there are still side missions to complete), it’s also everything that I was hoping it would be. The game is truly the evolution that the Metal Gear series needed, and secured the franchise’s place as the king of stealth action games. I was sure worried about the new camera and viewpoint, the lack of radar, and a multitude of other removals/additions, but, as a life-long Metal Gear fan, I’m very impressed.

The game is also freaking gorgeous.

The story is convoluted as all-hell (in classic MGS style), so if you’re a newcomer (or even if you’re not) the game may not make a lot of sense, but it’s still well worth picking up.

You can take a look at the launch trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes below, and be sure to let us know if you plan to pick it up!

Briefly: I’m going to avoid as many spoilers as possible before seeing the film, so I haven’t watched the video below, but alas, Marvel has released the first 10 minutes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier online for your viewing pleasure.

You can take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think! I can’t wait to see it when the film hits theatres on April 4th!

Briefly: We’re still trying to get over that awesome Godzilla figure that was revealed yesterday, and today Warner Bros. has surprised us with a brand new international trailer for the film.

The trailer (of course) features plenty of new footage to keep your excitement up until the film releases on May 16th. I have to say that Godzilla has probably had the best trailers of any film this year (so far), and I really cannot wait to see more (or to read the bound-to-be-awesome tie-in comic).

You can take a look at the new video below, and let us know what you think!

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Briefly: We already know how awesome some of Machinima’s web series can be (just look at Mortal Kombat: Legacy), and now the network is set to adapt another classic fighter for the small screen.

Machinima and Capcom have announced Streen Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, a new series that is currently without a premiere date (but based on the teaser trailer, I sure hope that it’s soon).

Here’s the series description:

The live-action series, which is distributed by Content Media, is the brainchild of Ansah (The Bourne Ultimatum, Snow White and the Huntsman), a member of the creative team behind the hugely successful fan film Street Fighter: Legacy—which has received almost 5,000,000 views to date. Ansah, who also stars in the series (Akuma), wrote the script with Christian Howard, who reprises his role as Ken Masters from the original fan film. The series also stars Mike Moh as Ryu, Togo Igawa (47 RoninMemoirs of a Geisha, The Last Samurai) as Gōtetsu, Akira Koieyama as Gōken, Gaku Space as Gōki, Mark Killeen (300: Rise of an EmpireThe Dark Knight Rises) as Mr. Masters, and Hal Yamanouchi as Senzo. Through the coming of age story of Ken & Ryu, we are shown the back story of some of the game’s most iconic characters, and over the course of the series we will see how the past, present, and future of all of those characters are intertwined, as the battle to become Ansatsuken Master threatens to tear apart another generation of brothers.

We all know how cool Street Fighter: Legacy was (head here if you haven’t seen it), which makes this project even more exciting.

On the newly found partnership, Allen DeBevoise, Chairman, Co-Founder and CEO of Machinima stated that “This series was meant for Machinima. We have successfully launched popular game-inspired web series in the past, and Street Fighter is about as iconic as they come. We couldn’t be more excited about working with the incredible production team behind the series and the folks over at Capcom to launch not only a compelling and action-packed series in its own right, but also one that stays true to the Street Fighter lore.” DeBevoise continued, “After the success of Mortal Kombat: Legacy 2, we will once again provide all of the episodes on the day of launch to our fans to ensure they get exactly what they want—the entire series from start to finish!”

“We can’t wait for our fans to get the opportunity to experience Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist,” said Matt Dahlgren, Senior Product Manager at Capcom. “Working with filmmakers who are so passionate about the brand was an extremely rewarding process and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Their work embodies the heart and soul of what Street Fighter is and we’re thrilled that Machinima will be able to deliver the epic series to those who care about the celebrated franchise as much as we do.”
