Well, that didn’t take long.

We knew it wouldn’t be long until Arisa, the serious tsundere of Poppin’ Party would be driven crazy by the antics of her band-mates, especially given the nature of PICO. Yet, here she is in episode two already fed up with the impossible ideas that her group wants to put into place to increase their popularity. After only three people showed up to their latest concert, (one of which was on their phone the whole time, possibly playing Bandori), the band knows something needs to change so they can reach the heights that Roselia and Hello Happy World have. How do they do that? By throwing every idea out that comes to their mind, practicality be damned.

What makes this episode especially funny is that Saya, Tae and to a lesser extent, Rimi, are typically more serious, so seeing them propose progressively insane ideas to insert into their concerts helped make the comedy stand out. This is all par the course for Kasumi, but when Saya wants to breathe fire and Tae wants to fill the stage with bunnies while the audience presumably chokes on chocolate coronets thrown into the crowd, it’s no wonder why Arisa was so  overwhelmed by the time the episode came to an end.

But can they pull off a concert with stage food, fire breathing, stand-up comedy, magic and a flying lead singer all at the same time? That remains to be seen, but I’ve learned to never doubt PoPiPa regardless of how ridiculous they get.

Episode Thoughts

– Saya and Tae’s initial suggestions of playing their instruments with their teeth and Rimi wanting to throw chocoloate coronets in the crowd actually happen in the ending animation. I’m guessing this will become a mainstay at their shows.

– “What kind of band are we”? Arisa asks a question I’ve been asking since I started playing Bandori.

– “There’s more of us than them!” was an amazing line. Maybe the solution is to have fewer people on stage at once.

– Arisa’s logical rebuttals being completely ignored really sold how off the rest of the members are compared to our tsundure queen.

– But seriously, I want to see a concert with them pulling off every idea at the same time.

Briefly: Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea is finally set to conclude today, and Irrational Games has just debuted the launch trailer for the anticipated DLC.

Sadly, it’s also the final release that we’ll see from the now-closed developer. Ken Levine announced back in February that the studio would be shutting down, making today bittersweet day, as the studio was responsible for some of the best games of this generation.

Take a look at the launch trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be playing today. The DLC will be available as soon as the respectable stores are updated.

Briefly: We’re just five days away from the anticipated release of Bioshock Infinite: Burial At Sea‘s second chapter, and Irrational Games has release a trio of new screenshots for the DLC.

In the shots, we see more of Rapture’s innate beauty, and also Elizabeth, looking extremely battered and bloody.

Take a look at the new screenshots below, and let us know what you hope to see in the DLC! Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea – Episode 2 releases on March 25th!

Burial3

Briefly: Ken Levine surprised all of us last month when he announced the closure of the acclaimed Irrational Games.

Irrational’s last project, the closing chapter to the Bioshock Infinite story DLC, Burial at Sea, will launch on March 25th (and I’m really looking forward to it). Irrational today launched a new promo for the chapter, which has (now ex) team members sharing their favourite moments of working on the DLC.

It’s a touching video, and many of the developers look truly heartbroken to be participating in what is basically a ‘looking for work’ ad. I sure hope that each and every one of them finds a new home soon.

Take a look at the promo below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the DLC.

Briefly: Today, Irrational Games revealed just when we’ll finally be able to play the second and concluding chapter of Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea.

The episode will launch globally on Steam, PS3, and Xbox 360 on March 25th. As before, the DLC will cost $14.99 on all platforms (but you should have just purchased the $19.99 season pass instead.

The main criticism that players had with Burial at Seas first chapter was that it was simply too short. The campaign could be completed in around two hours (which many stated did not warrant a $14.99 purchase). Ken Levine revealed on twitter yesterday that the next episode will be significantly longer:

So, did you enjoy the first chapter? Are you looking forward to the second? Did you watch the first three minutes of what happens next? Sound out below!

Episode2

Briefly: Again, the video below definitely contains spoilers for the first episode of Burial at Sea. If you haven’t played, don’t watch!

Irrational Games has just debuted a first look at episode two of their Bioshock Infinite DLC, Buried at Sea. We already knew that episode two would have us playing as Elizabeth, but after the end of episode one, we were all left wondering just how things were going to work out.

It’s hard to say more without getting too spoilery, so just take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think. Burial at Sea – Episode Two is still without a release date, but as the video says, it’s ‘Coming Soon’, and you know that we can’t wait for it.

Having your power out during 90+ degree weather for 5 hours is not a good way to start off your gaming weekend. Thankfully, the drought of releases hasn’t hit us yet so there are plenty of new things to check out this weekend. Here are my recommendations:

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: Dawnguard DLC

Those of us unfortunate enough to not own it for the Xbox 360 will have to wait another month before we get our chance to play Dawnguard. For the lucky ones though, just having the option of either being a werewolf or a vampire lord is enticing enough to jump back in to the world of Skyrim. The fact that the story for both vampire lord and werewolf are around 10 hours each make the $20 asking price well worth it.

Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: Episode 2

If werewolves and vampires are not your thing, may I offer you zombies? Just beating out the monthly timeline that Telltale sets for their episodic games, The Walking Dead: Episode 2 will continue the story of Lee and the survivors along with all of the awful choices you were forced to make in the previous episode. From the early looks of Episode 2, it’s going to get even tougher to make those on the spot choices… not to mention the addition of some very tense scenarios when another band of survivors discovers the group.

I Remember The Rain

I became aware of this game through IndieGames.com and was very thankful for it. But a word of warning: you have to go into I Remember The Rain knowing that it’s all story. Very little interaction is required by the player. Although being only 5 minutes long, the story that Jordan Browne constructs after only working on the title for a month is stunning. I must have played it 3 times in a row and each time I was blown away by how I Remember The Rain pulled at my emotional strings. I guess I am a sucker for a good story. I think you will be too.
