It wasn’t so long ago that we viewed the latest trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon and were introduced to the Ultra Beasts, in particular UB-01. Twitter went nuts over theories as to the creature’s origin. In the interest of keeping things potentially spoiler-free, these hypotheses will not be repeated here. But I will say that UB-01 is in some pretty interesting company.corocoro-ultrabeasts

Thanks to magazine scans from CoroCoro magazine, we have our first look at UB-02 Beauty and UB-02 Expansion. Why they both bear the title “UB-02” remains unknown. The magazine article mentions the UB-01’s name is a mystery but will have a deep meaning within the game.

The new Ultra Beasts weren’t the only reveal in this issue of CoroCoro. Remember Rockruff? It’s next evolutionary stage was also unveiled. Like Eevee’s Umbreon and Espeon, Rockruff’s next form will be different depending on what time it evolves. Evolve it during daylight hours and you get Rugarugan – Midday form (Japanese name). If the evolution occurs at night, you’ll end up with Rugarugan – Midnight form (again, Japanese name). No word on if what the types of these two forms are.

What do you think of these reveals?

We’re less than 24 hours away from a special, Pokemon Themed Nintendo Direct, and we just got our first glimpse of what we can expect tomorrow!

Nintendo, as of this morning, have filed for trademarks for two new Pokemon related items. Take a look at the OHIM entries below!

poke trade

OHIM (Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market) is the European trademark association, so these are for EU specifically. Both entries have the same “Nice Classifications” of 9, 16, 28, and 41. These are Scientific, Paper, Games, and Entertainment respectively. For Nintendo to trademark these two items, with logos in these categories we can safely assume that these are the newest Pokemon games to be announced!

Be sure to check out the Nintendo Twitch Channel tomorrow morning at 7 AM PST to see the full release!

Our friends over at CBM have just reported on a possible plot/synopsis leak for the upcoming Batman V. Superman.

Apparently Odeon Cinemas, a movie theater chain in the UK, had put up a new description for the March 2016 release. At the time of this writing Odeon has taken down the page.

At long last, see Batman and Superman square off against each other in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’, an epic superhero showdown which will change both their lives forever.

Clark Kent doesn’t trust Gotham’s mysterious masked vigilante. Bruce Wayne doesn’t trust the alien who nearly destroyed Metropolis. And Lex Luthor, who hates Superman more than anyone, is manipulating both of them for his own twisted ends.

Choose your side: the Man of Steel or the Dark Knight? Learn the answer to the age-old question – who would win? – in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’.

If this is accurate, and an official synopsis from the studio, then this sheds a whole new light on Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor.

The SDCC trailer has given us a broad idea of what the direction of the film will be like. Batman thinks Superman is a menace and needs to be stopped, but if what Odeon Cinemas has posted if official, then it makes Luthor’s involvement much more important.

Officially revealed with a teaser trailer back in March, Ubisoft today debuted a cool new gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Here’s what Ubisoft says about the title:

Assassin’s Creed Unity reinvents the franchise, starting with the core gameplay pillars that have defined the series from the beginning: navigation, stealth and combat. Players will carve their way through a stunning, full-scale open-world Paris, thanks to the power of the new Anvil engine, rebuilt from the ground up for new generation consoles. Assassin’s Creed Unity gives players full control parkour mechanics, a reinvented fighting system for a richer combat experience, a new stealth mode, cover system and crowd manipulation techniques. Players can channel their inner Assassin, customizing weapons, equipment, outfits and specialized skills to match their play style.

In addition to the sprawling single-player campaign, players can join with up to three friends and take part in story-driven online co-op missions designed specifically for Assassins to play together. Skills and unique gear acquired in the single-player missions will be accessible in co-op and will define a player’s personalized Assassin’s style, whether emphasizing brute force, agility or stealth. Players also will select a unique co-op skill that will help the team survive, evade or fight more effectively to the benefit of the team.

It’s been quite some time since I’ve played an Assassin’s Creed title, but I cannot wait to check out Unity, and especially its co-op multiplay, as it looks like it’s exactly what I imagined when the first game released. Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Assassin’s Creed Unity hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 28th.

Briefly: Officially revealed with a teaser trailer back in March, Ubisoft debuted an awesome co-op demo of Assassin’s Creed Unity at today’s Microsoft press conference (which SJ and Jonathan covered here).

Assassin’s Creed Unity hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 28th.

Briefly: A few days back, Shane published what turned out to be an extremely-legitimate leak of the next Assassin’s Creed game, subtitled Unity.

Today, Ubisoft confirmed the title’s existence with a teaser trailer. Most of the leaked information on the title appears to be correct, including the fact that it will release only on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Not having to keep older platforms in mind should help Ubisoft craft something absolutely beautiful here; I remember how gorgeous ACIV looked on the PS4 just a few months back, and this will surely blow it out of the water.

Here’s what Ubisoft had to say about the announcement:

We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years, and wanted to find the perfect time to give you an early taste of the game. Apparently though, the Templar Order was hungry to know more right now. To this, we say “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche!” (“Let them eat cake!”). Help yourself to a serving of the first official footage from the next-gen only Assassin’s Creed Unity. Stay tuned – we’ll have many more exciting details for you in the future.

A few weeks ago, this interesting post came up on the NeoGaf forums. It was posted by a user retailing the events that transpired on a plane with someone who was involved in the Assassin’s Creed Development.

So i was on a flight earlier today and playing liberation on my vita when the guy sitting next to me asked me what i thought about the game. I said it was pretty good to which he said that i will probably love the next one too. I told him that i already played black flag to which he smiled at me and said the one after that. Turns out that the guy was someone close to the series (dev/pr) and although he didn’t disclose what exactly his position was, he did give me a fair bit of info on the upcoming title. My day was literally made when towards the end of our conversation he showed me a short clip about the game on his ipad. Mind you the guy was a not a native english speaker so there might be some errors in what he meant and i what i am posting here.

set in paris and england (london?)

main characters name is arno/harno something. will be heading the french divison of assassins.

looks to be set after the ezio period, character had handgun.

looks like victorian era judging by the way npc dressed, architecture, horse carriages parked on the streets.

Villa management is back. MC has his own villa (guy says its ezio’s villa from AC:B). dunno if it makes any sense geographically or it might be a mistranslation.

codename is AC:unity. Not final title, might be battle/fight something (cant remember). The AC logo is cut in the middle like the beyond/quantum break logo.

MC has a blue suit with a tinge of red in the clip(might change). looked similar to the ones worn by the Knights in order 1886.

from the clip it looks like a cross gen title. Although the guy tells me its next gen only title.

Visually looked quiet decent but it was ver early footage. Had fantastic draw distance and crowd density was much higher than the older games despite them appearing/disappearing from thin air.

Much like most rumors on the internet, this particular one was mostly ignored, until today!

The team over at Kotaku got their hands on some sweet screenshots, and a lot of information mostly corroborating the NeoGaf user’s post.

The nitty gritty details Kotaku was able to get from their source are fairly promising. Unity, will be released sometime this fall and will be out on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The other AC title, codenamed Comet, will be out the same time but on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Unity will take place in late 18th century Paris (as you can see in the screenshots) and it brings to the table a new Parkour system. If you peak at the screenshots, you can see that there are buttons assigned to “Parkour Up” and “Parkour Down”. I imagine this little addition will be a huge step in the right direction for the series in terms of navigation.

The feature I a m MOST excited for is the return of the Villa management system. If you remember way back in AC:II, you could upgrade Ezio’s Villa. With shops, vendors, arts and architecture. All these upgrades would bring in money every so often. I LOVED getting my main base all the way upgraded.

No other details have been leaked or released, but expect to hear much more when we get closer to fall 2014.
