This November as part of the Marvel NOW! initiative we will see Deadpool getting relaunched by the new creative team of Brian Posehn, Gerry Duggan and Tony Moore. Get a first look at the cover to issue number one! As well as some excerpts of an interview the team did with IGN!

Brian Posehn discussing how he and Gerry Duggan landed the job:

Well, this whole thing would never have happened if it weren’t for Comic-Con, probably. In any situation where you get something going, it’s all about who you know, and this really came from that. Hanging out with Axel [Alonso]. Meeting Axel through Rick Remender. And Remender, who’s our biggest cheerleader, going, “These guys are funny. These guys love comics. These guys should be writing.” It originally started with the idea that we were just going to do a special. But with Marvel kind of reevaluating their books, they realized they don’t really want to do specials anymore. Then we were on the back-burner for a while. But we’ve been talking about doing something with them for a couple of years now.

Gerry Duggan on the new look:

Now might be a good time to point out that when this runs, you’ll see some art that shows the tweaks he did to the costume. It’s really costume. And they’re subtle. You’ll look at it and know that it’s Deadpool, but it’s a new Deadpool that really looks great. Less pouches and less weird, tech-y gear, but more versatile sort of, “Hey, you know what? Those are magazines. Those are clips.” You get the sense that he can reach behind his back and pull out either a frying pan or a shotgun. It looks great.

Gerry Duggan on Deadpool’s mental instability in the series:

I would say, though, if you’re a fan of a mentally diminished Deadpool, your hopes will be met and your expectations rewarded. I think we wanted with the first issue to make a new Deadpool comic that a Deadpool fan will really enjoy and want to come back for the second issue. The other side there, though, is that we know this is a new #1 by guys that haven’t done Deadpool yet, and we’re hoping to pick up new fans who will buy the first issue and say, “Oh, this is what Deadpool is? I’m sticking around.” I think that’s a balancing act that we did a pretty good job of. I think we made a fun comic that any Deadpool fan will recognize as a new chapter in Deadpool’s publishing history.

Brian Posehn discussing whether we may see Cable or not in this series:

He’s not in the first arc, but hopefully we’ll be on the book for a while. We have several arcs planned. He could definitely come in. We started over with some new S.H.I.E.L.D. people that you’ve never met. That was really fun to create new characters as well as work with Wade – this character that we already love.

Tony Moore on if his art style will change on this book:

Not incredibly so. The basics are all still the same. I do feel a lot more relaxed with this book since it’s not quite so morose as some of the other stuff, especially the work I did on Venom. That got pretty dark. This is a little more freewheeling, and I feel like my cartooning has loosened up a bit. It’s made for some fresher art. I’m really happy with the way things have gone. It’s a more relaxing kind of cartooning than I’ve been able to enjoy in a long time, so I’m pleased with the way everything has gone.

The Expendables 2 is almost here and there’s a new clip for you to check out if you can’t wait for it. See what happens when Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) has to improvise against a helicopter using a motorcycle.

The Expendables 2 is going to kick your ass in theaters on August 17th.

Well, it seems that Sony Pictures Animation has acquired the rights to the classic 1980s TV sitcom ALF (Alien Life Form) and has plans to develop the property into a CG-live action hybrid feature. Apparently Jordan Kerner, the man responsible for bringing the recent Smurfs flick will also produce this, along with Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco. Fusco also voiced the character in the original show, and is highly expected to do the same for the movie.

And if you don’t know anything about the show, Alf ran from 1986 to 1990 and lasted 102 episodes. It focused on a friendly (well, minus his love of eating cats) alien named Gordon Shumway who lands on Earth and winds up staying with the Tanner family. It was pretty funny at the time. The key part of that phrase being “at the time”. Will it be funny now? Probably not. This is one 80’s reboot we do not need. No writer or director is attached to the project yet.

Well, after yesterdays announcement that Joss Whedon would return to write and direct the sequel to The Avengers it looks like Warner Bros/DC may be getting ready to make their own big reveal. It appears that DC may be announcing a director soon for Justice Leauge and according to Variety, it seems that they already have someone that they are eyeing. And that someone is Ben Affleck.

Since guiding WB’s “The Town” to commercial success and critical acclaim from both sides of the camera, Affleck has ascended high on the studio’s list of filmmakers who can be trusted with prime properties. Thus far, Affleck is the only candidate who’s been sent Will Beall’s “Justice League” script, which the “Gangster Squad” scribe was hired to write last summer.

Warner Bros. could be working to move this project forward in order to get it out by 2015 in time to compete with the sequel to The Avengers. Especially with Man Of Steel rumored to start a shared DC Universe next year. The one big hesitation for Affleck here is that Justice League would put him out of circulation as a director for a few years. Affleck is not a shoe in for the job at  this point though yet. One of the sticking points to him directing the film is that he wants to be a part of the cast. He is expected to meet with Warner Brothers  executives in the coming days. This definitely wouldn’t be the first time a studio picked a director out of left field to handle a huge blockbuster comic book adaptation. Do I need to remind you about Christopher Nolan, Jon Favreau and Marc Webb?

Reports are coming in that Donald Faison (Scrubs) is in negotiations to join the cast of Kick-Ass 2 as the gravity pole wielding Dr. Gravity, one of the members of “Justice Forever” who fights alongside Kick-Ass in volume two.  The sequel begins shooting this September, and Faison will be joining returning cast members Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage as well as new addition John Leguizamo. The sequel is currently looking at a 2014 release.

Honestly, this movie sounds like it’s going to be alot of fun based on the cast alone.

A few days ago we announced that Brian Posehn would be one of the two writers taking over on a new Deadpool series as part of the Marvel NOW! initiative. While many fans were pleased with this news, mostly due to many not being too fond of Daniel Way’s treatment of Wade Wilson over the past few years, some were also worried that because Posehn was a well known comedian that the book would focus too much on the comedy which has been a complaint with the title over recent years.

A few days ago a fan asked Posehn on Twitter:

“I know you’re a comedian but will there be a serious tone to Deadpool as well?”

To which Posehn replied:

“The main goal: write a kickass Deadpool book. Story and action first with funny dialog and situations. Writing a book I’d read.”

Well, being than I am a major Deadpool fan this definitely eases my worries and has allowed me to breath a sigh of relief.

Originally set to be released earlier this year, Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterson, got pushed back to January 11th, 2013. In an interview last December, Arterton said the flick was “as much Pulp Fiction as fairy tale.”  It appears that the studio has been test-screening the picture, but it is like they’re not quite sure what to do with it. According to some recent reports from IMDb users, the studio is testing out two different versions of the film. An R-Rated and a PG-13 version are both being tested and the R-rated cut is definitely getting the positive feedback out of the two.

One IMDB user wrote:

I can’t say a lot because of agreements with the company, Overall I will say that I really enjoyed this one. It was different, violent, pretty funny- Sort of like Drive Angry 3D or Scott Pilgrim humor, and I thought everyone did well. It kind of felt like they nailed the ancient humor the way ‘Your Highness’ was supposed too but didn’t. I went to the R-Rated version, I haven’t seen an PG-13 version and I didn’t even think they were cutting it up to be that, I hope they go back to the R Version because that was one hell of a fun movie. A PG-13 version would just ruin everything.

And another user:

The first one was definitely the Rated R version. Good humor, good action, great fight scenes, awesome dynamic between Renner and Arterton. I loved it so much the first time, I made a group of friends go to the second screening the next week. But the next week, they had heavily edited it and turned it into a PG-13 film. If they keep it R, it’s gonna be great. Silly, but actiony and fun. If it’s PG13, it won’t be worth it. Let’s hope it’s an R rating. It was graphic and gory, I had to look away a couple of times because it was just gross.

Well, this actually sounds hopeful here. Maybe this movie will be what Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter should have been. The only thing is that I could definitely movies poor performance having an affect on ticket sales for this one sadly. With a release in January hopefully Paramount will make a decision and we will get a trailer soon to check it out for ourselves.

This fall, for a two-issue story arc we will see a guest creative team take over on Nightwing. Tom DeFalco (Legion Lost, Superboy) will be writing the story with Andres Guinaldo and Mark Irwin on art duties. But what’s even more important is the revelation of what we will be seeing coming up in issue number 15.

“When writer Kyle Higgins needed a breather to gear up for the Joker’s monstrous return in issue #15, I turned to Tom, who pitched in on issue #0,” series editor Brian Cunningham told THE SOURCE. “I’ll just come out and say it: Tom ranks among the best ever at writing street-level heroes. And Tom really delivered with his first solo trip to Gotham, following the narrative that Kyle has developed without skipping a beat, and helping to set up the Joker arc. And it felt natural for Tom to continue exploring the character of Lady Shiva, who first appears in NIGHTWING #0.

In this story, both Dick and Shiva have grown up some since their first encounter—they’re not teenagers anymore—so it’ll be fun to see how each fares in a fair fight. Wait, did I say fair fight? Forget it—Shiva remains by far the better fighter, so it’s up to Dick to find a way just stay alive!”

A first look at the cover to issue number 14.

“On the art side, Andres Guinaldo is an on-the-rise artist to be reckoned with, and you can quote me. He’s extremely talented and has an idiosyncratic style that’s also perfectly suited for mainstream comics. Keep your eye on this guy—he will only get better. You’ll see what he’s capable of in these two issues, especially after Mark masterfully inks him.”

So, we have gotten our first details and looks at Thor: God Of Thunder and Iron Man and now we have a first look at Mark Waid and Leinel Yu’s Indestructible Hulk! I am kind of torn on this one myself because I don’t actually read any of the Hulk titles but Waid is a great writer and Yu’s art is fantastic. This may be the one Marvel NOW! relaunch of a title that I am not already reading…that I may have to check out.

Mark Waid on taking over the Hulk:

It feels amazing. Honestly, it’s a lot like my experience with “Fantastic Four” — I never thought I’d want to write this book until it was offered and I began thinking about it. So many great writers, so many landmark moments — it was intimidating, still is. But the more I began to think about the relationship between Bruce and Hulk, the more I began fantasizing about what it would be like to take the core concept a little more “back to center” like we did with Daredevil, the more intrigued I became. In 1962, Hulk was one of the most unique characters ever in comics because he viewed his powers as a curse, not a blessing. But that point of view is no longer unique — heck, that’s practically the emotional keynote of half the superhero books currently running. So Marvel gave their blessing to morph that attitude into something a little more heroic. Jason wraps things up, elegantly and brilliantly. (I’m forever jealous of the ideas he based his whole run around.) “Indestructible Hulk” #1 picks up a few weeks after the events of “Avengers vs. X-Men.” No one’s seen Banner or the Hulk for a while, and that makes the whole world very nervous.

Lenil Yu on his approach to the title:

In all honestly, I drew both the Ultimate Hulk and Ultimate Wolverine the exact same way I would’ve drawn my regular universe versions. The only change would be the pot belly as specified by Damon Lindelof in the script, a result of his change of lifestyle gorging himself with food in the company of pretty women. Remember Banner’s line from the “Avengers” movie? His secret is that he’s “always angry.” Well, I was always drawing the regular Wolverine and Hulk in the Ultimate Universe. I was very relieved that I didn’t have to draw the young Wolverine with a goatee. The only thing I have to watch for is his height and size. I realize he’s only supposed to be at most 8 feet tall.

Mark Waid talking about the significance of the word indestructible in the title:

There’s a very good reason we chose the word “Indestructible,” it’s actually a subtle story point. Without giving too much away, let’s just say that it ties in with Banner’s whole new attitude. Again, take the concept back to center. Hulk is about what happens to us when we lose control — or when we try to exercise too much control. The stories we’ll be telling treat the Hulk less like a time bomb and more like a targeted WMD — and he’ll be moving throughout the Marvel Universe, exploring (on Banner’s behalf, for reasons you’ll see in issue #1) certain corners of the universe — Jotunheim, The Negative Zone, Lemuria. Hulk and Banner have a mission — and it will take them far and wide.

Lenil Yu talks about the armor we saw in the Marvel NOW! promo:

They asked me to hand in designs for the armor, which I thought was refreshing and could open up new story lines and possibilities. An armor to me implies an inherent vulnerability and that in itself is interesting, especially with the title “Indestructible” Hulk. I’m also a huge fan of Sci-Fi and video games so this is definitely right up my alley. I just love drawing technology.

Not too long ago it was announced that we would be would be getting a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Fans were excited until they saw Michael Bay’s name attached to it. However, since day one co-creator Kevin Eastman has been telling us not to worry about it, stating how much he was loving it and that he was on board. He even did an hour long Geekscape in which he allayed our fears.

Last June it was announced that the movie would be pushed back until May of 2014 thus leaving many wondering what was going on with it. Well, Eastman has given a bit of an update as to the reasoning behind the decision.

“Essentially they pushed it back for two reasons: One is the director, Jonathan Liebesman, wanted to make sure he could do the effects to the level he wants them at, and the fight scenes to the way they should be. Also, their release date is almost exactly on the 30th anniversary. May 5, 1984 is when the first Turtles comic came out. May 16, 2014, is almost exactly 30 years after. So basically it’s an anniversary movie now.”

“I tal”ked to [producer] Scott Mednick yesterday, and he’s seen the most recent 50 [script] pages and said it’s as good as the last version — they’ve really knocked it out of the park,” Eastman said. “I’ve seen a chunk of it, and it’s going to be a great movie, despite what everybody thinks.”

And apparently Eastman is busy working closely with Liebesman, Mednick and writers Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec.

“Doing sketches, drawings and character designs, bouncing stuff around with the writers, talking with the director and the producers — I’m actively involved.”

Horror reboots are quite popular these days and a few years ago there as  talks of Hellraiser getting one Pascal Laugier set to direct. But since then the project has had quite a bit of bad luck. The director left the project, the company owning the rights was forced to develop a direct-to-video sequel in order to keep the rights, and that was not well received at all thus leading up to the project being cancelled. Well, fans that were for seeing the reboot (trust me…this series needs it after all of the awful sequels we saw) have some reason to hope! Artist Paul Gerrard and director Mike Le Han have teamed up to produce a teaser trailer for their version of a Hellraiser reboot, and plan on  pitching it to the studio in hopes of having it made. And they have even released some concept art for us to see what their vision would look like!

For fans that complained that Modern Warfare 3 was just the same game yet again…it looks like you’re in for a treat. While we do not get to see any of the game modes are going to be offered we do get to see some of the new devices and gadgets that are going to be available and all I can say is…holy fuck what is that ED-209 thing and how many kills do I need to use it? Ladies…prepare to say goodbye to your boyfriends for awhile.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops II will be released November 13th.

So, if you haven’t seen the first trailer by now we are bringing you the second trailer for Judd Apatow’s upcoming sort-of-sequel to Knocked Up, This Is 40. The film focuses on Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann), characters first introduced to us in Knocked Up. Looks pretty good to me. I’m on board.

Writer/director/producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) brings audiences This Is 40, an original comedy that expands upon the story of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up as we see first hand how they are dealing with their current state of life.

This Is 40 hits theaters December 21st.

So, when Anne Hathaway was first cast as Selina Kyle many fans were not too happy to say the least. But since the release of The Dark Knight Returns many have begun praising her performance and it’s being said that out of the entire cast she has the best chance to receive an Oscar nomination. And to top off the list of people that loved her performance, during a fundraising event at Henry Weinstein’s home in Connecticut, President Barack Obama revealed his thoughts on the actress.

“She’s spectacular. I got a chance to see Batman, and she was the best thing in it. That’s just my personal opinion.”

The internet trolls are not happy.

Coming later this year we will see Thor: God Of Thunder the relaunched title from Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic as part of the Marvel NOW! initiative. Take a look at Ribic’s cover for issue #1 below as well as a few excerpt from the interview with Jason Aaron.

Aaron on what to expect story wise:

“I do flash back and show a young Thor in action, but he’s actually just one of three Thors that I want to focus on. This first story is an epic tale that plays out over the course of thousands of years. So we spend time with young Thor in the Viking age — the young, hotheaded god of the Vikings, who loves to come down to Midgard and get into trouble. In the present, we see Thor the Avenger on a journey that takes him to the far corners of space, interacting with all sorts of new space gods and wondrous new locations. And then we also see old King Thor, who’s the last king of Asgard, thousands of years in the future, where something has gone horribly, horribly wrong. Linking all these eras and Thors together is one villain, an all-new character [Gorr, the God Butcher], who is basically, at least initially, a serial killer of gods. He’s a guy with a serious axe to grind against all immortal beings in the cosmos, and he’s going around doing his best to kill them all off, one at a time, as brutally as possible. That villain’s story unfolds over the course of all these different eras. He starts as a serial killer of gods, but by the end, he has become something even more frightening.”

Aaron on Esad Ribic’s artwork:

We’re a few issues in at this point and it’s looking terrific. Just look at the first two covers, which fit together in one big image. I think once people see those two covers, it’ll be obvious that this is a special moment for Thor, art-wise. Esad is doing what I think will be a defining take on this character for a long time to come. The pages have been just amazing. All I do is get out of the way and let him go. It’s jaw-dropping work. I’m just trying to give him enough stuff to go wild with. He’s getting to design new locations, new sorts of cities of the gods, obviously a whole new villain, and new creatures swirling around him. Esad has been sinking his teeth into all that stuff and making it his own.

Most people in the last couple of years have seen Esad’s stuff on Uncanny X-Force, I think. He contributed a lot to the look and feel of that book, just with those first several covers. And then he and I previously worked together on the Wolverine: The List one-shot from a few years ago, with Fantomex and Marvel Boy. I think the covers and the pencils for these first few issues of Thor are some of the best stuff I’ve ever seen from Esad.

Reports are coming in that Michael Kenneth Williams (Boardwalk Empire) is in negotiations to join the cast of Sony’s upcoming remake of Robocop. The movie is getting ready to go into production next month and has already compiled a pretty impressive cast and director. If he joins the cast Williams will play the partner to Kinnaman’s police officer Alex Murphy who is tight with Murphy’s family. This could mean that the character would be a replacement to the Officer Anne Lewis character from the original that was portrayed by Nancy Allen.

Production on the new season of Arrested Development for Netflix begins tomorrow! It appears that the entire cast consisting of Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat and Tony Hale are all in final negotiations and expected to return. Each of the new episodes will focus on one member of the Bluth clan, although some episodes may feature multiple characters. Arrested Development will be in production through the fall.

The new season is set to be a bridge between the original series and the lon rumored Arrested Development movie. However the door is being left open to doing an additional season if the initial 10 new episodes prove successful. All 10 new episodes are set to be available on Netflix at the same time sometime in 2013 but no premiere date has been set yet.

Marvel NOW! is coming soon and with it we will see the relaunch of Iron Man by Kierron Gillen and Greg Land. Check out a first look at the book as well as excerpts from the interview with Gillen telling us what to expect from the series.

Gillen on what to expect from the book theme wise:

It’s funny, he’s moved his position a bit and his heart roams but the main thing is the question of belief. Anyone reading AvX can see what Tony is going through and he’s wrestling with stuff he doesn’t normally touch. It’s him looking at two plus two and asking why it equals four. That’s kind of the heart, the underlying theme of [IRON MAN], the idea that Tony Stark starts prodding areas where he hasn’t prodded as much before, while at the same time being a clear scientific, technological book. I stress, I’m not trying to turn Iron Man into Mystic Knight in issue one. That was the joke for a while actually, I had a list of ideas of everything I could possibly do and after looking at it I thought, “This is the worst thing I can possibly do.”

The symbolism that I bring immediately into the book [is] a lot like the Arthurian concept of the grail-knight: the idea that Tony Stark is the grail-knight, or at least aspiring to be the grail-knight. When we meet him he’s left Resilient and he’s digging into what’s going on. Pepper has a line in the first issue saying, “Oh, you’re not having a midlife crisis are you? Just buy yourself a suit of armor.” That’s where we start and he begins to ask questions.

The story will focus on him questioning things about himself and trying to find out exactly how the universe ticks, what’s this all about and why he does this anyway. It’s going to be one of the major themes of the book going forward. For as long as I’m on the book it will be one of the two major themes I’m working on, like on UNCANNY X-MEN [with] the theme of power and the corruption thereof.

On exploring Tony’s relationships with women and single issue stories:

Oh hell yeah. It’s actually a key part of my second theme. I’m going to explore Tony and his relationship with women. I’m interested in Tony’s selection of women in everything, from his mom, to Pepper, to the random people he’s sleeping with and everything that relates to them. He’s a complicated guy and he does bad things occasionally without thinking. Well, not [without] thinking exactly but he’s not always thinking about the right thing. He’s not the distracted genius but he always has something else going on.

Matt Fraction did a brilliant take on the corporate figure and his run is a defining arc, so I’m staying away from it. Tony is still a scientist and will still be working on the armor but it’s all about him going out into the world and the whole grail-knight comparison. All the traditional corporate motifs are there but they’re not the primary drive of the book. Tony will be in the armor a lot, he’ll be going out into the world.

The first five issues will be single stories that will share [both] a defining motif and a plot but it will be Iron Man facing new instances of technology and each is basically a new villain. Each issue will illuminate something about Tony and they’re all very different. Issue two is a lot like the Bruce Lee Kung-Fu Island story; it’s like a joust, it’s all about the knight imagery, essentially going to a tournament. Issue three is like a ninja story, Tony Stark trying to be a full-on stealth master, issue four is a horror story and issue five is something a little more romantic and scientific but I’m going to keep that one under wraps.

I really want to mix it up with single issue stories because I think that quite a few people are feeling the same way. Single issues are an exciting place to go and anyone can jump on with any of the first five issues, not just issue #1. [In] each of those issues I introduce Iron Man; I say something meaningful about a character that you may know already and I want it to be accessible and to pop. That’s the thing with Greg Land: his photorealistic style really pops and it’s a glamorous book in that way.

On Greg Land’s art and if he can draw a “pretty glamorous party”:

He can! Issue #2 is Tony at the top of a hotel sitting in a recliner next to a pool working on an Iron Man helmet with people enjoying a party around him. That’s just how Tony would roll. That stuff is going to be really interesting. The opening scene of the first issue has Tony admiring a view and telling himself that he’s seen so much that any man would question what’s before him and yet he never did. That’s what the end of the five issues [is] going to be like.

As opposed to doing the [morphing] armor, he’s doing precision-based tech. He’ll have to switch out arms and legs. His argument being that you can get more kick out of a specific tool and the theme [of it will] be about making choices and living with it. It will be like choosing a specific suit for a specific mission, taking a certain arm configuration and taking a different piece off. There will be a lot of changes in the armor throughout the series; in the first five issues there will be a different armor every issue.

Well, those hoping to catch Warner Bros. The Great Gastby this December are going to have just a bit longer. The company has decided to move the movie from Christmas to the summer of 2013. So, what’s the deal with that? Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution Dan Fellman stated:

“Based on what we’ve seen, Baz Luhrmann’s incredible work is all we anticipated and so much more. It truly brings Fitzgerald’s American classic to life in a completely immersive, visually stunning and exciting way. We think moviegoers of all ages are going to embrace it, and it makes sense to ensure this unique film reaches the largest audience possible.”

Which could be entirely true or it could be what we have seen happening quite a bit recently with studios fearing that their films aren’t going to be able to survive out there. Why am I saying that? Because both Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey AND Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained are coming out that month. Especially due to BOTH The Great Gatsby and The Hobbit being released in 3D meaning they are going to have to compete for those screens. Also, let’s keep it real…we are ALL going to see those two before we see The Great Gatsby. So, maybe Warner Bros. is being honest with their reasoning or they’re just playing it safe. Either way the film is moved back to next year because they think the movie will be the “perfect summer movie around the world”. Well, I don’t know about that one.

Recently winning the “hottest actor” accolade in this year’s Total Film Hotlist Awards, Tom Hiddleston sat down with the magazine for a little q&a where he briefly comment on the upcoming Thor: The Dark World.

I don’t want to give too much away. But I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed. Alan Taylor’s vision of Thor 2 is utterly brilliant. The journey continues in the most epic dimension and proportion imaginable. It’s very, very exciting.

The best thing about being Loki is that he is my diametric opposite. Physically, he is a photo negative of who I am. Loki is dark and pale, and I am light and fair. Also spiritually I am not much like him either. Yet I feel an incredible freedom in playing him.

He is a combination of mercurial intellectual ability, emotional ambiguity, rakish charm, charisma and provocative wit. He has a wicked inclination to mischief, underneath which is a well of spiritual pain. Both these aspects are central to his depth as a character: his unashamed and perverse delight in creating chaos; and his capacity for raw emotional expression.

And – as my American friends tell me – he’s kind of a badass! He’s one of the richest, most rewarding, most fun characters I’ve ever played.

Underneath the steely cold veneer of his trickster charm is a certain vulnerability and sensitivity – the wounded fragility of an outcast brother and son. His mind IS a box of cats though! But I love him.

One of the most surprising moments to fans in Avengers vs X-Men #9 was Marvel ending the marriage between The Black Panther and Storm. While most people could care less and some fans are even happy because of how fake the marriage honestly felt it still was pretty unexpected. In a recent interview with Newsarama, Avengers vs X-Men editor Tom Breevort explains the reasoning behind the action.

“I think it’s a little bit of everything. To be honest, I don’t know that we handled Storm and the Panther as a married couple as well as we could have on a consistent basis. This is a byproduct of the fact that they come from different corners of the MU, and it was often difficult to bridge the gap. X-readers and creators wanted Storm to be in the world of X rather than in Wakanda with the Panther, and the Panther’s trajectory was often well away from that X-world. So more often than not, we had the two of them separated, each off doing their own thing in their own sphere, and touching base with the other, but that’s about it. We never found that winning formula to put them into position in the Marvel U as a couple that would succeed long-term. Probably the closest we came was right after the wedding, when they became half of the Fantastic Four. It wasn’t absolutely necessary that we dissolve their union as a part of AvX, but as you said, it was a logical consequence of the conflict, and it adds a personal and emotional resonance to what goes on. And it’s not a relationship that we’re done with necessarily—as you’ll see as the remainder of AvX and AvX: VS plays out, and we get into the world of Marvel NOW.”

Well, wow about installing a replica of the batcave from The Dark Knight Rises?  Elite Home Theater Seating has done just that for one of their clients. The client has even gone as far as making their 12,000 square foot dwelling  mimic Wayne Manor down to the bust of William Shakespeare concealing a switch for elevators and a fingerprint scanner which allows access to the theater itself. The theater even includes a fifteen foot Batmobile, six batsuits, 180” film screen, winged gargoyles, private cylindrical stainless steel elevator with a glowing bat symbol, a secret tunnel exit, bat computers, and race-car inspired home theater chairs. Whoa.

So, the trailer only has three new bits of footage but I don’t think any of us has a problem with that at all. Something is better than nothing right?

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is in theaters December 14th, 2012

Last night me and fellow Scott Alminiana caught a midnight showing of Total Recall and during the trailers we both looked at each other and realized that we were about to see the trailer for Red Dawn. While the official trailer has not been released online yet I can tell you that it looks pretty damn good and very much like the original. And that’s a very good thing. What I can show is this teaser that Entertainment Tonight showed giving you guys a first look at it.

In Red Dawn, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

Red Dawn invades theaters November 2, 2012.

As we all know Ed Brubaker will be ending his eight year run on Captain America very soon. Well, among the many Marvel NOW! teasers that were released today we got the revelation of who would be taking over on Captain America and it’s definitely one to make some fans happy. Rick Remender (Uncanny X-Force) and John Romita Jr (Kick-Ass). While Remender has me interested here…I just don’t know about Romita. Going to have to see how this one goes.

Now, while none of this is confirmed at the moment, there are some rumblings around the water cooler regarding what DC and Warner Bros. have planned for Batman now that Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy is done. Sorry to those of you who had hoped that you would see the continuation of that story but Nolan has been saying for quite some time that he was done.

Moving on. Remember when news broke that we would see Justice League hitting the big screen in 2015? It appears that the plan is to follow up with a new Batman movie afterwards. Not one where we yet again see his origin story but instead one where we see Batman in his second year of crime fighting. Possibly an adaptation of Year Two? The film would definitely be set in the same universe that DC is going to begin setting up with Man Of Steel (which I can personally confirmed that a source has stated they have gone back and added things into the movie) and quite possibly every DC movie that follows. We will keep you updated as we find out more details.

Marvel has been releasing teasers for the past week announcing the creative teams that would be relaunching and taking over titles. Today we have not one, not two, but THREE teasers. The first one obviously announcing that Matt Fraction (The Invincible Iron Man) and Mark Bagley (Ultimate Spider-Man) will be working on an upcoming Fantastic Four title.

Next up we have Si Spurrier (probably best known for some of his Judge Dredd work) and Tan Eng Huat (Annihilators: Earthfall) launching what appears to be an X-title based off X-Men: Legacy being one of the nine cancelled titled.

As far as this last one? Matt Fraction and Mike Allred’s (Madman) title? No fucking clue whatsoever. Got any guesses?

• They gather to stop the horrors of the Marvel universe before they happen…
• …but the secret group known as the illuminati failed to stop the Phoenix time and time again.
• They come together one last time…but will it be enough?
