Briefly: Following the actually-kinda-cool trailer from a few weeks back, Paramount has just debuted five new character posters for Alan Taylor’s Terminator Genisys.

The images feature Sarah Conner, John Connor (in all his spoiler-filled glory), Kyle Reese, and the T-800 and T-1000.

It can’t be worse than Terminator: Salvation, can it? It looks really heavy on the homage, but it could still be fun, right? I don’t dig the whole John Connor is a Terminator thing, and Sarah Connor looks entirely too smiley in her poster, but I do have to say that I’m still looking forward to seeing what the full feature has to offer.

Take a look at the posters below, and let us know what you think! Terminator Genisys hits theatres on July 1st!

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

It’s still got a stupid title (which I imagine has something to do with the huge spoiler that’s just been revealed), but Terminator Genisys looks pretty damned cool. The first trailer for the film was clearly made for fans of the franchise, mirroring scenes and quips directly from the first three films (and ignoring Salvation entirely), but today’s new trailer is definitely the one that ‘what the hell’ed me into being excited for the movie.

Yep. It certainly looks as though JC is the bad guy, doesn’t it? Which essentially turns the entire series on its head, which is probably what it needed more than anything. Seeing this, I’d guess that the Genisys subtitle is also the name of the program or experiment that John’s been through to turn him into something more than man or machine.

In any case, I’m down. Terminator Genisys hits theatres on July 1st. How do you feel about it?

The official trailer for Terminator: Genisys is now online.

Do you love the Terminator series? I mean really, really love it? Because that’s who this movie seems to be targeting. Iconic lines, scenes, characters, and Arnold Schwarzenegger himself are in this new reimagining of the Terminator films, and Genisys is the, excuse me, genesis of a new series. Alan Taylor, director of Thor: The Dark World, will be at the helm of this… I can’t resist, genesis. I’m so sorry! I almost Googled for Sega Genesis pictures.

As for the trailer: it looks good! It’s what you would expect from a modern sci-fi action movie. Things explode and stuff. Yeah, it’s cool!

This new chapter in the franchise will star, besides Arnold Schwarzenegger of course, Emilia Clarke (Yes, Khaleesi), Jason Clarke (no relation), Jai Courtney (just announced for Suicide Squad), Matt Smith (Yes, the Eleventh Doctor), J.K. Simmons (Yes, J. Jonah Jameson), and Lee-Byung Hung (Yes, Storm Shadow). They just took everyone involved in genre franchises, didn’t they?

Terminator: Genisys will be released July 1, 2015. Oh man, 4th of July weekend? It will make so much money.

Marvel Studios “Phase Two” officially kicks off this week when Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 opens in theaters internationally and the studio has debuted the first trailer for their next film in the slate, Alan Taylor’s highly-anticipated Thor: The Dark World. The film picks up roughly a year after The Avengers and sees Thor deal with an ancient enemy who has returned.

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

While speaking with magazine executive producer Craig Kyle revealed that the events of the upcoming sequel will take place one year after The Avengers and two years after Thor.  He also revealed that at the start of the film that we will see Asgard battered by war and The Nine Realms beset “by rag-tag invaders known as The Maraunders”.

So, for awhile now we have kind of known what Thor: The Dark World would be about but not quite the scope of it. Filming on Thor: The Dark World is still currently underway in London and today the first official synopsis for the Asgardian pic has been revealed including the full cast list.

Prinicipal photography on Thor: The Dark World is currently underway and according to Shepherd Management Limited casting agency, not one but two of their clients have signed on for minor undisclosed roles in Alan Taylor’s sequel. Deadline has now revealed what roles the actors will be playing in the film.

The first being British actor Clive Russell who has appeared in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes and its 2011 sequel, as well as numerous British television series, and he was recently cast as Ser Brynden Tulley the Blackfish in HBO’s third season of Game Of Thrones. Clive Russell will portray the god of war, Tyr, which is the all-father Odin’s other biological son and older brother of the titular God of thunder in the comics.

The second addition is Richard Brake, who is probably best known for playing the DC character Joe Chill in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins. The actor has also appeared in Hannibal Rising, Water For Elephants, & Outpost. The actor will play a captain of an elite group of Asgardian warriors that appeared in the first film, known as Einherjars.

Another new cast addition has joined the upcoming sequel, Thor: The Dark World, which is currently filming overseas in London. Variety reports that British actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra) has joined the anticipated sequel and will be joining Christopher Eccleston, who will play Malekith The Accursed, as one of the lead villains of the film. Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be playing the villain Kurse.

“Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has joined the cast of Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” as one of the lead villains, playing the dual roles of Kurse and Algrim.”

The character Kurse was originally Algrim the Strong, one of the Dark Elves of the extra dimensional realm of Svartalfheim who served the Dark Elves’ ruler, Malekith the Accursed. While this was originally my least anticipated of Marvel Studios “Phase Two” movies, the recent cast additions have definitely been making me a bit more excited for it.

Thor: The Dark World smashes into theaters November 8, 2013.

Recently winning the “hottest actor” accolade in this year’s Total Film Hotlist Awards, Tom Hiddleston sat down with the magazine for a little q&a where he briefly comment on the upcoming Thor: The Dark World.

I don’t want to give too much away. But I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed. Alan Taylor’s vision of Thor 2 is utterly brilliant. The journey continues in the most epic dimension and proportion imaginable. It’s very, very exciting.

The best thing about being Loki is that he is my diametric opposite. Physically, he is a photo negative of who I am. Loki is dark and pale, and I am light and fair. Also spiritually I am not much like him either. Yet I feel an incredible freedom in playing him.

He is a combination of mercurial intellectual ability, emotional ambiguity, rakish charm, charisma and provocative wit. He has a wicked inclination to mischief, underneath which is a well of spiritual pain. Both these aspects are central to his depth as a character: his unashamed and perverse delight in creating chaos; and his capacity for raw emotional expression.

And – as my American friends tell me – he’s kind of a badass! He’s one of the richest, most rewarding, most fun characters I’ve ever played.

Underneath the steely cold veneer of his trickster charm is a certain vulnerability and sensitivity – the wounded fragility of an outcast brother and son. His mind IS a box of cats though! But I love him.

Following yesterdays big news that Christopher Eccelston (Dr. Who, GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra) would be playing Malekith The Accursed in Thor: The Dark World the actor has briefly commented on the upcoming project.

“’Thor 2′? Yeah I start shooting in August. I haven’t seen a script yet which makes me nervous but yeah! Alan Taylor is directing who has done ‘Game of Thrones’ so it should be good.”

Exploring Thor’s relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor: The Dark World” follows the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and earth. And as his evil half-brother, Loki, returns for Asgardian justice, a new threat rises. Also rejoining Thor are his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and Warriors Three, as they encounter mythical Norse creatures among evildoers.

Apparently a recent casting call has gone out revealing that producers are looking for extras that are particular experts with fire. Could this possibly mean in the sequel we may see Thor and company exploring Muspelheim, the realm of eternal fire, home of the fire demons and their ruler Surtur?

It’s not entirely unlikely being that he was featured in the video game for the original movie. Maybe we will Thor travelling across the different dimensions? Maybe not. This is entirely speculation right now but would this be something you would want to see?
