Warner Bros. has just released the official synopsis and logo for the upcoming DC superhero team-up movie. Filming is well underway over in Europe so its a matter of time before information starts to leak from the set.

Here’s the synopsis:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.  Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.  But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

With no word on who the “greater enemy” is we can only assume that it might just be Steppenwolf or Darkseid.

Along with the official synopsis they also gave us our first look at the new Batmobile. Looks like cross between the Tim Burton and the Christopher Nolan versions.

‘Justice League’ will star Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Ezra Miller as The Flash with Willem Dafoe in a mystery role and J.K. Simmons playing Commissioner Gordon

The film, directed by Zack Snyder, will be released in theaters on November 17, 2017.

Hollywood Reporter has just announced that Warner Bros. has cast J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon in the new Justice League movies!!

No stranger to the comic book movie universe, J.K. has been a fan favorite for his excellent portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson in the spiderverse. Some im sire were hoping he would be able to once again reprise his role in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.

‘Justice League’, which will be directed by Zack Snyder, sees heroes Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) teaming up to combat a threat beyond each member’s capabilities.

‘Justice League: Part One’ starts shooting in mid-April with a release date of November 17, 2017.

Briefly: Following the actually-kinda-cool trailer from a few weeks back, Paramount has just debuted five new character posters for Alan Taylor’s Terminator Genisys.

The images feature Sarah Conner, John Connor (in all his spoiler-filled glory), Kyle Reese, and the T-800 and T-1000.

It can’t be worse than Terminator: Salvation, can it? It looks really heavy on the homage, but it could still be fun, right? I don’t dig the whole John Connor is a Terminator thing, and Sarah Connor looks entirely too smiley in her poster, but I do have to say that I’m still looking forward to seeing what the full feature has to offer.

Take a look at the posters below, and let us know what you think! Terminator Genisys hits theatres on July 1st!

Reese

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

It’s still got a stupid title (which I imagine has something to do with the huge spoiler that’s just been revealed), but Terminator Genisys looks pretty damned cool. The first trailer for the film was clearly made for fans of the franchise, mirroring scenes and quips directly from the first three films (and ignoring Salvation entirely), but today’s new trailer is definitely the one that ‘what the hell’ed me into being excited for the movie.

Yep. It certainly looks as though JC is the bad guy, doesn’t it? Which essentially turns the entire series on its head, which is probably what it needed more than anything. Seeing this, I’d guess that the Genisys subtitle is also the name of the program or experiment that John’s been through to turn him into something more than man or machine.

In any case, I’m down. Terminator Genisys hits theatres on July 1st. How do you feel about it?

The official trailer for Terminator: Genisys is now online.

Do you love the Terminator series? I mean really, really love it? Because that’s who this movie seems to be targeting. Iconic lines, scenes, characters, and Arnold Schwarzenegger himself are in this new reimagining of the Terminator films, and Genisys is the, excuse me, genesis of a new series. Alan Taylor, director of Thor: The Dark World, will be at the helm of this… I can’t resist, genesis. I’m so sorry! I almost Googled for Sega Genesis pictures.

As for the trailer: it looks good! It’s what you would expect from a modern sci-fi action movie. Things explode and stuff. Yeah, it’s cool!

This new chapter in the franchise will star, besides Arnold Schwarzenegger of course, Emilia Clarke (Yes, Khaleesi), Jason Clarke (no relation), Jai Courtney (just announced for Suicide Squad), Matt Smith (Yes, the Eleventh Doctor), J.K. Simmons (Yes, J. Jonah Jameson), and Lee-Byung Hung (Yes, Storm Shadow). They just took everyone involved in genre franchises, didn’t they?

Terminator: Genisys will be released July 1, 2015. Oh man, 4th of July weekend? It will make so much money.

The 2014 Sundance Film Festival kicked off with a bang. In fact, it kicked off with a whole lot of them. Damien Chazelle’s Opening Night selection, Whiplash, is a surprisingly provocative examination of “greatness” and a desire for perfection. Being the best at any facet of life requires dedication, sacrifice and a reasonable amount of obsession. And Whiplash brilliantly tackles this dynamic through the inconceivable backdrop of Jazz music. Implanted firmly in our nation’s roots, Jazz music has become a forgotten treasure that’s about as American as apple pie.

Andrew (played by Miles Teller) attends the finest music school in the country for one reason, and one reason only, he has every intention of being the greatest Jazz drummer of all-time. And with the guidance of the most skilled and feared instructor on the planet, Terrence Fletcher (J.K. Simmons), there’s no limit to Andrew’s success. That is, if his body and mind can handle the abuse.

whip1

Whiplash is a brutally realistic character study that succeeds on the shoulders of a pair of fine performances. This time last year, the young and impressive Miles Teller was virtually an unknown. But following the renowned critical success from 2013 Sundance selection, The Spectacular Now, we’re all very aware of his capabilities. Even more remarkable is how easily Teller stands toe-to-toe with the always overlooked and always sensational J.K. Simmons. While some may shortchange Simmons’ character by calling the film’s primary antagonist devious or even a bully, there’s far more depth to him than that. To the point where Whiplash transcends pure entertainment value and raises intellectual debates, such as whether or not this harmfully influential instructor is in the wrong. The way I see it, there’s a price you must pay to achieve greatness. Even if it means abruptly halting a relationship with the girl of your dreams, or spilling your blood to improve your hand speed. Our character’s darkly obsession leaves him fully capable of anything, and that’s the scariest part of all.

whip2

For as emotionally and physically draining as Whiplash is, there’s an equal amount of humor circulating throughout the screenplay. It isn’t your typical happy-go-lucky comedy, but these offensive and abrasive one-liners certainly do the trick. And whenever the continuous loud banging around starts to test your patience, Simmons is quick to crack a joke, simply reinforcing the wide spectrum of emotions that Whiplash forces you to encounter. It’s a unique story delivered in a compelling manner, all the way through to its bitterly prolonged finale.

You couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. I laughed, I cringed and I empathized. Already scooped up by Sony Pictures Worldwide, this definitely won’t be the last we’ve heard of Whiplash. Music fans everywhere, rejoice!
