The revamping continues at Archie Comics leading up to their 75th Anniversary. The flagship Archie book will relaunch next year with the brand new creative team of writer Mark Waid and artist Fiona Staples.

Recently, Waid has been receiving high praise for his work with artist Chris Samnee on Daredevil while Staples’ artwork on Brian K. Vaughan’s Saga has shared similar critical success. (Note: I probably don’t have to tell you that both these books make an AWESOME addition to your pull list).

The Archie brand has been no stranger to change the past few years with Archie’s highly publicized death in the Life With Archie series as well as the release of the darker, zombie filled Afterlife with Archie.

I’ve never read an Archie book in my life but that hasn’t stopped me from getting hooked on Afterlife with Archie! It makes me want more of the Archie universe but I still haven’t taken the leap. With Waid and Staples at the helm, I’ll finally take it next year when Archie #1 launches.

Have you been reading any Archie titles lately? Will you be giving the Archie relaunch a shot? Let us know in the comments!

Marvel has been releasing teasers for the past week announcing the creative teams that would be relaunching and taking over titles. Today we have not one, not two, but THREE teasers. The first one obviously announcing that Matt Fraction (The Invincible Iron Man) and Mark Bagley (Ultimate Spider-Man) will be working on an upcoming Fantastic Four title.

Next up we have Si Spurrier (probably best known for some of his Judge Dredd work) and Tan Eng Huat (Annihilators: Earthfall) launching what appears to be an X-title based off X-Men: Legacy being one of the nine cancelled titled.

As far as this last one? Matt Fraction and Mike Allred’s (Madman) title? No fucking clue whatsoever. Got any guesses?

In October we will see the start of the Marvel NOW! event in which Marvel will be launching a number of new titles. It appears in order to make room for the new titles a total of nine are set to be cancelled. This October, the following titles will be coming to an end.

-Captain America #19
-Fantastic Four #611
-FF #23
-Incredible Hulk #15
-Invincible Iron Man #527
-New Mutants #50
-The Mighty Thor #22
-Uncanny X-Men #20
-X-Men Legacy #275

This could mean we may see these books being relaunched with new titles and creative teams (there’s a rumor that John Romita Jr is taking over on Cap) at issue number one between October and February. I know for a fact there will be Iron Man, Thor and Captain America titles (either re-launced or re-named) but the rest are up in the air as far as I know. Full details will be revealed at Marvel’s Comic-Con panel this week.
