Briefly: We’re just a few weeks away from finally seeing José Padilha’s Robocop remake, and IGN has just debuted the first clip for the film.

I’m still skeptical of the feature. The trailers have been very cool, but I’m afraid of another Total Recall happening. In any case, however, today’s clip is bad-ass and definitely raises my excitement for February 12th.

Take a look at the clip below, and let us know what you think! Are you looking forward to the Robocop remake?

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

Briefly: It’s been a long time coming, but Epic Rival’s anticipated series Clandestine just got its first trailer. Here’s what the producer had to say about the release:

We must admit, after the long road traveled with it’s various ups and downs, we are all really proud and ecstatic that we finally get to share this trailer with you. Thank you, to all the fans again who helped in bringing this project one step closer to reality! We couldn’t have made it this far without you and we look forward to your continued support — we would be nothing without you guys!

Distribution for the series is still being worked out, but from the look of the trailer, we’re in for nothing but quality here. Take a look at the series first trailer below, and we’ll be sure to share more as Clandestine‘s release approaches!

Hidden within the recesses of modern society, lives four ancient supernatural clans who have been feuding since the beginning of time. Adelene, a young girl who knew nothing of the war between the clans, is suddenly thrown in the thick of it when it’s prophesied that she is the next matriarchal successor to the one of the Families.

Adelene begins her journey to learn all of what mankind has forgotten as she struggles to become the clans new “Matriarch”. The secrets of what life was like “before”, the decisions that risk countless lives, and the constant struggle to keep the clan united, are just a few of the dangerous trials she must now face… and survival is not guaranteed.

A martial arts action epic with political intrigue, love, and unforgettable supernatural action.

Briefly: Following the first brief teaser from early last month, and the first stills from earlier this week, FX has debuted a new image for their television adaptation of Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s The Strain.

The still (again) reveals little about the series (and certainly don’t give us at look at anything really exciting), but it’s certainly nice to see something out of FX regarding the show.

Take a look at the image below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the series! The Strain premieres on FX this July!

Strain3

Briefly: This game just keeps looking better and better.

Sony has just published a batch of new screenshots for Bungie’s upcoming Destiny. The images look to be a mixture of gameplay and cinematic, and each and every one of them is absolutely gorgeous.

Now, my PS4 may be getting a little dusty right now (well, so are all my other consoles, but it’s more a lack of time than a lack of content), but if it wasn’t clear from our top games of 2014 list, 2014 is going to be a great year for gamers.

Take a look at the new screenshots below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the game!

Briefly: Just a few days back we showed you a new trailer for the first single-player DLC for The Last of Us, and now we may know just when we’ll be able to play it.

The PSN page for the add-on states that The Last of Us: Left Behind will launch on February 14th, 2014. Of course, there’s no official word on this yet, but if it turns out to be correct, this Valentine’s Day is going to be busy (season two of House of Cards also launches that day).

Have you had an opportunity to play The Last of Us yet? How excited are you for this DLC? Sound out below!

Briefly: Well, it’s award season. Along with the already passed Golden Globes (see all of the winners here), and the upcoming Academy Awards, we can’t forget about The Razzies, the ceremony that celebrates (?) the worst of the worst, and generally the most entertaining awards show of the season.

The nominations for this year’s Razzies have just been revealed. Take a look at the announcement below, and head further down for the list of nominees!

One year shy of their 35th anniversary, Tinsel Town’s Tackiest Trophy Derby continues to call on Hollywood’s A-Listers to “Own Their Bad”. This year’s 34th Annual RAZZIE® nominees include some of the biggest names in the movie business, who happened to star in some of the biggest box office bombs of 2013. For the first time in their history, the RAZZIES® are also working with their worldwide fan-base of PO’d motion picture-goers, and the cutting edge crowd-funding website Indiegogo to put on a high-end show this year and pave the way for the first ever RAZZIE® Awards Broadcast in 2015.

Garnering their first ever RAZZIE® nods are some of the silver screen’s most recognizable luminaries, including past Oscar® nominees Johnny Depp and Naomi Watts as well as up-and-comers making crummy choices like Jaden Smith and Selena Gomez. The list also includes several “Repeat Offenders”, returning for more pie-in-the-face/light-hearted joshing from the only folks whose statuette no one wants to win. Going for a possible 3rd Worst Actor “win” in a row, Adam Sandler is back, alongside such RAZZIE® stalwarts (and past “winners”) as Ashton Kutcher, Lindsay Lohan, Taylor Lautner, Tyler Perry and The Awl Time RAZZIE® Cham-Peeen Sylvester Stallone, snagging a staggering 31st nomination for three 2013 dogs, BULLET TO THE HEAD, ESCAPE PLAN and GRUDGE MATCH.

Among this year’s five Worst Picture contenders are: A real life father and son (Will and Jaden Smith) in a sci-fi epic set on “Planet Nepotism”, AFTER EARTH; Sandler’s latest summer-vacation-masquerading-as-a-movie, GROWN UPS #2; A shockingly star-studded cast in a major dud that came off as an X-rated rip-off of Love American Style, MOVIE 43; Tyler Perry’s 37th Man-in-a-Dress Drag-Fest A MADEA CHRISTMAS; and The Year’s Biggest B.O. Bust, Dizz-Knee’s flat-footed remake of THE LONE RANGER. Links to all nominees are in the right column of this page.

For 8 of this year’s 9 RAZZIE® categories, contenders were determined by seeking online votes from some 750 G.R.A.F. Members in 47 U.S. states and 13 foreign countries. Nominations for the 9th category, Worst Screen Combo, were determined by votes from nearly 62,000 users at the popular movie review website Rotten Tomatoes.com. “Winners” in all categories will be announced on the now traditional date of “Oscar Eve”, Saturday, March 1.

Be sure to let us know your thoughts below!

Briefly: Back in December Telltale revealed that the second episode of The Wolf Among Us, subtitles Smoke and Mirrors would launch in 2014. The developer has just released an update giving players a better idea of when we’ll be able to continue the fantastic tale based on Bill Willingham’s Fables series.

Here’s what Telltale cofounder Kevin Bruner had to say regarding the release:

Hey everyone!

We were planning the announcement of the ep2 release date just today, and I really wanted to respond to the reddit thread, since the info was imminent anyways. But, we also wanted to make sure that everyone here was the first to know, so here it is!

First week of Feburary!

It’s been a struggle to get this episode out, for a variety of reasons, but it’s finally ready to go, and you heard it here first!

Here’s what I’ll be posting to reddit in a few minutes…

“Hey guys,

Kevin from Telltale here! Funny that this came up today, as we were planning the announcement of Ep 2, but… no time like the present!

Ep 2 should be available the first week of February. We are working hard with all of our partners (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Apple) to coordinate everything, but we’re confident enough to announce that here. The episode is looking really good (as is the rest of the season!). We are very concerned about the long delay for this episode, but this is one of those occasions where several things conspired against us (not to mention the additional delays due to the holidays). I won’t dive into the details, but it’s been an unusual and specific set of circumstances and we do not anticipate it happening again as we go forward with the rest of the season.

So there you have it. First week of February! “

So there you have it. It’s been a long wait (episode one premiered all the way back in October), but it won’t be too much longer.

Are you looking forward to your return to Fabletown?

Briefly: I can’t wait for Bates Motel to return.

The creepy, intriguing-as-hell first season was one of my favourite TV offerings of 2013, and as such, March’s premiere of Bates Motel is one of my most anticipated.

A&E today launched two excellent, short teasers for the upcoming episodes, each of which really shows us just how creeping things are about to get. Take a look at the videos below (sorry for the poor quality, I can’t even watch the higher quality versions from A&E due to living in Canada), and let us know if you’re looking forward to the series’ return.

Briefly: Back in December it was revealed that Square-Enix’s critically acclaimed Tomb Raider reboot would be making the jump to PS4 and Xbox One.

As one of the first big-ticket last gen ports/upgrades, we’ve all been eager to see just what the difference between versions could be, and whether or not the added power of the PS4 or Xbox One would be well-utilized. Today, IGN debuted a comparison video between the PS3 and PS4 versions of the title, and Crystal Dynamics’ Scott Amos was there to describe everything.

I’m happy to say that the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition looks to be a huge step up from the last-gen version, and that new players shouldn’t feel like they’re playing a last-gen title. Tomb Raider was an incredible reboot, and one of last year’s best gaming experiences, so if you haven’t yet had an opportunity to try it, this new edition launches on January 28th.

Take a look at the comparison video below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Magic: The Gathering is getting a film adaption.

Yep, you read that right.

20th Century Fox has acquired the rights to the property, with which they plan to launch a “massive franchise on the scale of Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.” Simon Kinberg is set to produce, develop, and oversee the series alongside Magic: The Gathering owner Hasbro.

As a big Magic: The Gathering fan and collector (and sometimes, but not lately, player), here’s how I see things going: MtG has a cool (and huge) overarching story that will all but be ignored in the film (aside from Planeswalkers, and well, the magic part). Current MtG fans end up disliking it, but they will love the influx of new players that the insanely popular film turns onto the game.

Or maybe (hopefully) I’m wrong, and it’ll be awesome.

No other information has been revealed at this time, but we’ll be sure to share any further developments. Are you a Magic: The Gathering player? What do you think of the announcement? Sound out below!

Briefly: Just one day after winning the Golden Globe for his performance in Behind the Candelabra, Michael Douglas has been cast in a big role in an upcoming Marvel film.

The actor will portray Hank Pym in Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige stated that “With Hank Pym’s rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves. We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn’t be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life.”

This means that we also know just which Ant-Man Paul Rudd will be playing in the film, Scott Lang.

What do you think of Douglas in the role? Is there another actor you’d have preferred? Sound out below!

Briefly: No release date on this one yet (damn), but IGN today debuted a new look at The Last of Us: Left Behind, the first single-player DLC for seemingly everyone’s favourite title of 2013.

The video shows a clearly younger Ellie, who seems substantially more innocent and fun than the Ellie that we came to know in the main campaign. It reveals little about the DLC itself, but I’m pretty confident in saying that it’s probably going to break all of our hearts… all over again.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to The Last of Us: Left Behind. The DLC still doesn’t have a release date, but it’ll cost $14.99 whenever it hits PSN.

Briefly: We cannot wait for this to come out.

All the way back in April of 2013, we hosted a ‘Roger Corman’s Fantastic Four Reunion‘, which featured some of the film’s prominent cast and crew, as well as documentary producer Mark Sikes. The group was just about to start production on the Doomed: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s ‘The Fantastic Four’, and today, the first trailer for that documentary was released.

I still haven’t had an opportunity to watch Corman’s version of The Fantastic Four, but have read up on its troubled production extensively, and am very excited for the documentary to release. You can take a look at the trailer below, which features some excellent interview clips with Corman himself, as well as a multitude of cast and crew members.

Be sure to let us know what you think, and if you’re excited to see the full feature!

Back in 1994, legendary B-Movie filmmaker Roger Corman produced one of Marvel’s first movies. It was a feature film adaptation of The Fantastic Four, which at the time never saw the light of day. It has since been bootlegged and leaked, and has gained a cult following over the years. Director Marty Langford has created a documentary called DOOMED!: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s “The Fantastic Four,”  which gives us the full behind the scenes story of the film’s troubled production and release.

Briefly: Machinima has just announced that the entire first episode of Starz highly anticipated high-seas drama, Black Sails, will debut on Machinima Prime a full week before its television premiere.

The pilot will hit YouTube on January 18th, and from everything we’ve seen from Black Sails so far, it should be awesome.

Allen DeBevoise, Co-Founder and CEO at Machinima sure sounds excited, stating that “Black Sails is a truly outstanding production that features a storyline that our audience will gravitate towards. Michael Bay and the entire cast and crew have created a surefire hit for Starz and we are thrilled to be a part of it. This content partnership with our vast network will introduce the series to millions of loyal Machinima viewers and will help pave the way for future opportunities to partner with Starz.”

Nancy McGee, EVP of Marketing for Starz continues, “Starz is very pleased to work with Machinima as a one of its key digital sampling distributors and custom content partners. Robust sampling maximizes potential exposure for a series, such as ‘Black Sails,’ that is a rich, yet widely accessible viewing experience. Machinima offers Starz and ‘Black Sails’ a great online platform to engage new audiences in a challenging digital space and introduce content that is truly premium to a valuable audience and ultimately assist us driving subscription growth.”

Plenty of new Black Sails content is set to hit the channel before the January 18th episode, so take a look at the series’ trailer below, and head to Machinima Prime for even more!

Tonight, thousands of pretty and talented Hollywood bigwigs gathered to give recognition to the best performances, films, shorts, and television series’ of 2013. Briefly: EW has just debuted the first (short) trailer for the El Ray Network’s upcoming From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.

It’s been years (and years) since I’ve seen From Dusk Till Dawn, so I don’t remember much of it. The film does boasts a huge cult following however, so I’m sure that From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series will be a huge hit for the network when it premieres later this year. The series stars Wilmer Valderrama as enigmatic crime lord Carlos; D.J. Cotrona, who plays Seth Gecko; Zane Holtz as Richie Gecko; Jesse Garcia who plays Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez, a new character created for the series; Don Johnson who joins in a recurring role as Sheriff Earl McGraw; Robert Patrick as Jacob Fuller; Madison Davenport as Kate Fuller; Brandon Soo Hoo as Scott Fuller and Eiza González as Santánico.

Briefly: We knew that it wouldn’t last forever, but it’s ending sooner than I’d hoped. Dan Slott’s excellent Superior Spider-Man is set to end this March, and an all-new The Amazing Spider-Man will launch in April.

Just as most others seemed to be, I was skeptical when Superior was first announced, but quickly fell in love with the vastly different series. Now, just when Superior Spider-Man is at its best, its set to end all too soon. The numerous changes to Peter’s life, however, will not be ending with it, as Slott told Yahoo today, “Everyone’s expecting that it’s going to be a nightmare, a landscape of broken friends and crushed dreams, but there’s another side to it, too. When Peter went out, Doc Ock crashed course through college and got him a doctorate, got him a girlfriend and got him his own company.”

He even made a child cry, stating that “To do that for a solid year of my life, that’s the hardest thing I’ve had to do — to look small children in the eye at a convention and lie to them. One of them with an honest-to-God Little League uniform and a quivering lip. Inside, part of me was dying.”

In any case, as a long-time reader, I’m excited to see what happens next. Take a look at the cover art for the first issue below, and let us know what your thoughts are on Superior Spider-Man, and the fact that it’s ending!

Briefly: Following a small batch of Vine teasers earlier this week, HBO has just released the first trailer for the next season of Game of Thrones.

I haven’t yet finished season three, so I’m not too sure what I’ve missed, but I’m sure glad to know that Joffrey is still alive. I love that guy (not).

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you hope to see in the upcoming episodes! Game of Thrones premieres on April 6th! We’ll be sure to keep you up-to-date with further marketing from the season!

Now, I really need to catch up.

Compulsion Games’ Contrast was one of the most original, unique titles that I had the pleasure of playing last year. The game hit Windows, Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4 back in November, and I didn’t even touch another PS4 title (PSN or retail) until I had explored every nook and cranny of the game.

If you haven’t had a chance to check the game out, I’d wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s one of the most memorable titles I’ve experienced in recent memory, and I’d love to see it get even more well deserved exposure. For now, read on for my interview with Compulsion Games’ Sam Abbot, and if you’ve played the game, be sure to let us know your thoughts!

DK: First of all, congrats on the launch! What’s been your favourite gamer reaction to ‘Contrast’ now that it’s available?

SA: Hard to say, because there have been so many awesome responses! But I think my favourite (excellent use of Canadian English there by the way) is a Youtube clip of a guy swearing for about 2 minutes trying to do the Gap jump (the bit just before the cinema). I’m pretty sure that means I’m a terrible person.

Seriously though, my favourite thing is hearing the diverse things that people liked (or didn’t) about the game. It’s a fascinating insight into the variation of humanity.

DK: ‘Contrast’ is an extremely original game in a sea of sequels and remakes. When was the idea for the game originally conceived, and where did that idea come from?

SA: The original shadow shifting idea was inspired by Portal – our creative director had previously been able to watch Valve ship the Orange Box. He wanted to make something that was as freeform and interesting as that and, as a graphics programmer, shadows seemed like a good fit. There were other mechanics once, too, but we put them by the wayside to focus on the shadow mechanic. We also focused more on the story as time went on, to help set it apart from the crowd.

DK: The title also features a compellingly unique art style. What made the team go with this gorgeous 1920’s Paris, and where did the design and idea for Dawn’s persona originate?

SA: Thank you! The art style in many ways was based on the mechanic – we wanted something that would work with the dreamscape setting, and would be a natural fit for a game about shadows. For example, the warped, towering nature of the landscape was inspired by German expressionism, which was about abstracting architecture (and was in vogue in movies made in the time period Contrast was set).

Dawn took quite some time to develop. Her being an imaginary friend was introduced and abandoned a few times over the project, but we settled on it in the end, because it helped her abilities make sense in the world we created. Her final visual design took a couple of years (she used to be blonde, wearing modern clothing), and it is loosely based on Didi’s impression of who she wants to be (athletic, adult, stylish, but also not sexualised).

DK: What was the biggest challenge of crafting a title like ‘Contrast’ with only a six-person team? Were there any benefits to developing with such a small group?

SA: So, a small caveat – we’re 6 people now, but we were 8 people up until 3 months before launch, and we had a number of partners helping us out from time to time (our friends PixelNAUTs did our environmental art, and WaveGeneration Audio did our audio work). The benefits of a small group are that everyone has a lot of creative freedom, but at the same time having a bigger team means you can create more content.

DK: ‘Contrast’ was featured as a last-minute addition to the Playstation+ ‘Instant Game Collection’ for PS4. How did Sony approach Compulsion Games for this opportunity? What has been the biggest benefit of being featured?

SA: They approached us around the time of Indiecade about joining their PS+ launch promotion. Things all happened very quickly once they decided they wanted Contrast at launch. The biggest benefit has undoubtedly been the exposure – we have had a huge number of people try out the game, most of which probably would not have without the PS+ promotion.

Thank you, by the way, to everyone who tried us out!

DK: If you could describe the game in just a few sentences to someone who had never heard of it, how would you sell the title?

SA: Contrast is a film noir adventure/story/puzzle/platforming gaming (little hard to explain) about a little girl, her imaginary friend, and the ability to become your shadow. Set in a vaudeville inspired 1920s, you need to shift between 3D (you) and 2D (your shadow) constantly to progress the story. But really, you kind of have to see/play it to understand it. Or, just think of Bioshock crossed with Limbo and Pan’s Labyrinth.

DK: Is any add-on content being planned for the game? I know a lot of people who would love to jump back into this world (myself included)!

SA: We have ideas, but we’re not sure about add-on content yet.

DK: After ‘Contrast’, what’s next for Compulsion Games? Is there anything currently in the pipeline or being discussed?

SA: Well, we’re not just sitting on our thumbs 🙂 But we’re not ready to make any announcements.

DK: What other games is the team playing? What unreleased games are you looking forward to?

SA: Great question! Right now, we’ve got a few people on the team playing the alpha of Rust, and of course the ubiquitous Dota 2. But, as one might expect, we tend to cycle through games pretty quickly! As for unreleased games, Secret Ponchos coming out for PS4 soon should be fun, and I’m interested in The Witness.

DK: Coming from another Canadian (I live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia), what’s the best part about Canada? (We don’t get asked this nearly enough)!

SA: Well, it’s hard to go past Montreal. But, the best part about Canada is the weather – while all the US people complaining about the polar storm, that’s just a regular winter day for us. Snowmen and ice-related-injuries for everyone!

That’s it! Again, I’d certainly recommend checking the game out, and be sure to keep your eyes out for more Compulsion news! You can follow the developer on Twitter here.

Briefly: It seems like just yesterday that the premiere date of Game of Thrones fourth season was revealed (it was), and now we have a few tiny, tiny teasers for the upcoming episodes.

The videos all come from the official Game of Thrones Vine account (meaning that each teaser is less than six seconds long), and all end with the announcement of when we’ll be able to see a full trailer, which is this Sunday, January 12th, at 8:58PM Eastern.

Take a look at the teasers below, and let us know what you’re hoping to see on Sunday!

Briefly: It’s been a few months since we’ve seen anything new from Rambo: The Video Game (the last trailer debuted back in November), but Reef Entertainment has just debuted a new preview, and it’s just as awesome as you’d expect.

Our previous thoughts about the game being on-rails appear to be true, as the video’s description states that “RAMBO ® THE VIDEO GAME will be a fixed-perspective, first-person shooter & action game allowing players to fill the combat boots of John Rambo on a violent journey through iconic action sequences from the original three legendary Rambo movies.”

Alright, Rambo: The Video Game looks pretty bad. But could it maybe, just maybe, be so bad, that it’s excellent? Only time will tell! Rambo: The Video Game hits PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 later in 2014. Take a look at the newest trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: I’ve never been much of a proponent of the Playstation Vita. I purchased one at launch, only to sell it a few months later (there really weren’t any games at the time), and picked up yet another unit last February, which subsequently sat and collected dust (I expected it to solely become a Remote Play machine), until Media Molecule’s glorious Tearaway debuted in November.

Soon, I’ll have a new Vita game to play, and I feel like it’s one that I’ll be putting many, many hours into. Take a look at the trailer for OlliOlli below, and you’ll see what I mean.

It’s been a long, long time since a good skating game was released (Skate 2 was great, and the last great Tony Hawk title was probably the first in the Underground series), and OlliOlli definitely looks like it will breathe some much-needed life into the genre. It also looks excitingly different from anything we’ve played before, and is a perfect example of a game that fits perfectly on mobile, but likely wouldn’t translate well to a mobile phone, as you need buttons and precision for a game like this.

I can’t wait to get my hands on OlliOlli. It’s a Vita exclusive, and it hits PSN on January 21st.

You may want to pick up a Trigger Grip for this one.

Briefly: In the wake of Paul Walker’s tragic death just over a month ago, the Fast & Furious series lost its Brian O’Connor (who will be retired in the upcoming film), and Agent 47 lost its… well, Agent 47.

20th Century Fox today announced Walker’s replacement in the film, which had not yet entered production at the time of the actor’s death. Agent 47 will now be played by Rupert Friend, who is best known for portraying Peter Quinn in AMC’s Homeland.

No plot details or other stars have been announced, nor has a release date been set at this time. Were you looking forward to seeing a bald Paul Walker in the film? What do you think of Friend? Sound out below!

Briefly: I never thought that I would say (type) these words, but we are now just a few weeks away from the release of Knights of Badassdom.

We saw the first trailer for the film all the way back in 2011, and for some reason… the movienever came out. As far as I’m aware, nobody really knows why it was shelved for so long. Seeing as many of the film’s stars have absolutely exploded in popularity since the movie was shot, there has never been a better time to release it than right now. The film stars Peter Dinklage, Summer Glau, Ryan Kwanten, Steve Zahn, Danny Pudi, and plenty of others.

Last month, Entertainment One released a short new trailer for the film, and today IGN has debuted the film’s latest poster. Take a look at the sweet new image below, and let us know if you’re excited! Knights of Badassdom hits VOD (hopefully not only in the US) on February 11th!

Anyone else feel like they’ve been waiting for this forever?

Briefly: It’s been a long, cold Winter since the third season of Game of Thrones concluded all the way back in June. You had plenty of time to catch up on George R.R. Martin’s series of novels (but you didn’t, did you), and now we know just when TV’s most epic drama will return for a fourth season.

It’s a little later than we’d hoped (seeing as, well, we want it right now), and even a little later than last year’s premiere at the end of March. We can all return to Westeros on April 6th at 9PM.

What do you hope to see in season four? Some of the slow-burn events that have been building since the pilot, maybe? Have you recovered from the red wedding yet? Sound out and speculate below!

Briefly: With just a few months to go until X-Men: Days Of Future Past hits theatres, Fox has finally given us our first look at Even Peters’ Quicksilver in the film.

It’s a single image, and it’s pretty low resolution (we’ll be sure to update once a high-res version hits the web), but it at least gives us a decent look at a character that we’re all very excited about.

Take a look at the image below, and let us know what you think! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Quicksilver

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

Briefly: Following the first brief teaser from early last month, FX has debuted the first two teaser images for their television adaptation of Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s The Strain.

The stills reveal little about the series (and certainly don’t give us at look at anything really exciting), but it’s certainly nice to see something out of FX regarding the show.

Take a look at the stills below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the series! The Strain premieres on FX this July!

Briefly: The red-band trailer for the Jason Bateman directed Bad Words hit theatres a few weeks back (check it out here), and the film instantly became one of my most anticipated comedies of the year.

The chemistry and antics of Bateman’s Guy and 8th grader Chaitanya are fantastic, and is something that I could easily watch for the length of a feature film. A family-friendly(ish, unlike the movie itself) green-band trailer for the film has just hit the web; it’s got a bunch of new footage in tow, and it’s just as hilarious as the last preview.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be checking out Bad Words when it releases on March 28th!

Jason Bateman makes his directorial debut with the subversive comedy, BAD WORDS.

Bateman stars as Guy Trilby, a 40-year old who finds a loophole in the rules of the National Quill Spelling Bee and decides to cause trouble by hijacking the competition. Contest officials, outraged parents, and overly ambitious 8th graders are no match for Guy, as he ruthlessly crushes their dreams of victory and fame.

As a reporter attempts to discover his true motivation, Guy finds himself forging an unlikely alliance with a competitor: awkward 10-year old Chaitanya (Rohan Chand of ‘Homeland’), who is completely unfazed by Guy’s take-no-prisoners approach to life.

The movie also stars Alison Janney, Kathryn Hahn and Phillip Baker Hall.

Briefly: I’m actually really looking forward to Need For Speed. Aside from featuring Aaron Paul (which means that I’m going to watch it), it definitely looks like the best racing / car / action flick this side of Fast & Furious.

Take a look at the cool theatrical trailer here if you haven’t, and then take a look at a neat featurette below, in which Aaron goes to driving school… and tries not to hit the cones.

Need for Speed stars Aaron Paul, Dakota Johnson, Michael Keaton, Dominic Cooper, and plenty of others, and hits theatres on March 14th.

Based on the most successful racing video game franchise ever with over 140 million copies sold, DreamWorks Pictures’ “Need for Speed” captures the thrills of the game in a real-world setting. An exciting return to the great car-culture films of the 1960s and ’70s, when authenticity brought a new level of intensity to the action, “Need for Speed” taps into what makes the American myth of the open road so enticing.

The story chronicles a near-impossible cross-country race against time—one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. In a last attempt to save his struggling garage, blue-collar mechanic Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul)—who with his team skillfully builds and races muscle cars on the side—reluctantly partners with wealthy, arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper). Just as a major sale to car broker Julia Bonet (Imogen Poots) looks like it will save the business, a disastrous, unsanctioned race results in Dino framing Tobey for manslaughter.

Two years later and fresh out of prison, Tobey is set on revenge with plans to take down Dino in the high-stakes De Leon race—the Super Bowl of underground racing. To get there in time, Tobey must run a high-octane, action-packed gauntlet, dodging cops coast-to-coast and dealing with fallout from a dangerous bounty Dino put on his car. With his loyal crew and the surprisingly resourceful Julia as allies, Tobey defies odds at every turn and proves that even in the flashy world of exotic supercars, the underdog can still finish first.

Briefly: HitRecord on TV is finally here! And nearly two weeks before its premiere on regular ol’ television.

HitRecord creator Joseph Gordon-Levitt has taken to YouTube to premiere the pilot episode, which you can view in its entirety below. The pilot features content from more than 426 contributors, which is absolutely incredible for a 23 minute episode. Here’s what Gordon-Levitt had to say about the release:

Ladies and gentlemen, I am beside myself with joy and anticipation :oD It is my sincere pleasure to present the very first episode of HITRECORD ON TV! Watch the entire first episode here before it premieres on television.

Everything you’re gonna see on this show was made collaboratively on our site — hitRECord.org — and the work of 426 Contributing Artists is featured in this particular episode. There’s gonna be 8 episodes this season, each revolving around a different theme, like RE: Space, RE: The Other Side, and RE: Money. And since this is our first ever episode, I figured the theme of this one would be RE: The Number One. HITRECORD ON TV will be coming out on January 18th on a new cable channel called Pivot.

I’m deeply proud of this show, and I think you’re realllllly gonna like it. Honestly, making this thing together with all the artists from around the world in our hitRECord community has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life so far. So, without any further ado, enjoy the show!

Check out the episode below, and let us know if you’re excited to see the rest of the season! Hitrecord on TV premieres on Pivot on January 18th! While we’re on the topic of JGL, how about his Sandman adaptation?
