Guillermo Del Toro’s highly anticipated Pacific Rim is now just two weeks away, and Warner Bros. has just released a new featurette for the film.

Titled Under Attack, the featurette shows off plenty of new footage from the movie, and features Guillermo Del Toro, Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, and Charlie Day speaking about their roles in the groundbreaking project.

Pacific Rim looks incredible, and we couldn’t be more excited for it. Watch the featurette below, and let us know what you think! Looking for more Pacific Rim? Screenwriter Travis Beacham was just a guest on the show!

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Man of Steel released two weeks ago today, and Warner Bros. is by no means finished marketing it.

An awesome new featurette for the film has just been released. Dan Lemmon and Joe Letteri of Weta Digital are interviewed, and describe the process of crafting the ‘liquid-geo’ effect featured in the film. This of course is the very organic and tactile look of the Kryptonian display technology, which is used to tell a brief history of Krypton in the movie.

It’s a great watch for any Man of Steel fan, and especially those who’d like to learn a little more about Weta’s involvement with the film. Watch the new featurette below, and let us know what you think!

Following our first looks at BumblebeeHound, an unnamed Lamborghini, a Pagani HuayraOptimus Prime, and two other vehicles, Michael Bay has unveiled yet another truck from the upcoming Transformers 4.

No character info has been released about the latest vehicle, but the description that accompanies the photo states that “The adventure continues to transform with a very different offering from Daimler Trucks North America . . . the imposing 2014 Argosy cab-over truck by Freightliner.”

This one certainly looks like it could be a Decepticon: being that this rig features a very contrasted look from that of Optimus Prime, could the classic baddie Motormaster be appearing in Transformers 4? Bay seems eager to reveal all of the new vehicles, but hasn’t yet shared just who is actually in the movie. That has to be frustrating for fans.

Take a look at the new image below, and let us know what you think! Transformers 4 hits theatres on June 27th, 2014.

James Wan’s The Conjuring has to be one of my most anticipated horror films of 2013. 2010’s Insidious (or at least the first 2/3 of it) was an instant classic for me, and was one of the few horror films that stayed with me long after it ended. Plus, I’m a sucker for both Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga (boy, does she play a great Norma Bates), so I’ll definitely be lining up for this one.

Warner Bros has just released a creepy new trailer for the film, this time around focussing heavily on the fact that The Conjuring is based on a true story. The preview features footage from the film intercut with interviews of the real Perron family, who describe they events they witnessed while inside the house. The Conjuring looks like a great, classically styled horror film, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Conjuring hits theatres on July 19th!

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville.  Based on a true story, The Conjuring tells the horrifying tale of how world renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse.  Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

This looks amazing.

Professor Layton / Ni No Kuni developer Level-5 has just launched a new iOS title. Layton Brothers Mystery Room is a new crime-solving mystery game starring none other than Professor Layton’s son, Alfendi Layton.

The game looks to mix elements of the Professor Layton series with those of Capcom’s Phoenix Wright franchise. I haven’t had an opportunity to play the game yet, but I’m genuinely looking forward to it: Layton Brothers Mystery Room was developed from the ground-up for iOS devices (well, after first being cancelled on the DS), and looks to be an absolute blast.

The game is free to download (here), and the Universal App covers iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The first two cases are included with the download, and further episodes can be unlocked via in-app purchases. Watch the trailer for Layton Brothers Mystery Room below, and let us know what you think of the game!

There is no fate but what we make for ourselves: the Terminator franchise is about to change immensely.

Skydance Productions, Annapurna Pictures and Paramount Pictures have just announced that a rebooted Terminator will launch on June 26th, 2015. Set to be the first film in a stand-alone trilogy, the reboot will not be connected to the already established timeline that started with 1984’s The Terminator.

The reboot is yet to sign a director, but Laeta Kalorgridis (Avatar, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) are currently writing the script.

Interestingly enough, even though Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed earlier this month that he was attached to the project, his role is not mentioned in the press release. Also, being that this is a different timeline and trilogy altogether, it’s unlikely that the rumoured 1940’s/1950’s origin story will actually make it onscreen.

Take a look at the full press release below, and let us know what you think of the news!

x_Terminator_Spas10

Skydance Productions, Annapurna Pictures and Paramount Pictures have jointly announced they will partner on a rebooted “TERMINATOR” movie, to be released by Paramount Pictures on June 26, 2015.

The first in a stand-alone trilogy, “TERMINATOR” will be produced by Megan Ellison of Annapurna and David Ellison of Skydance. Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake of Skydance will serve as executive producers. Laeta Kalorgridis (“Avatar,” “Shutter Island”) and Patrick Lussier (“Drive Angry”) are attached to write the screenplay.

Launched in 1984 with star Arnold Schwarzenegger as the title character, “TERMINATOR” spanned 3 subsequent films, which have earned over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

David Ellison most recently executive produced, along with his partners at Paramount, “World War Z,” “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”. A 5th installment of in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise is in active development, along with a 3rd film in the “G.I. Joe” franchise, among other films.

Megan Ellison most recently produced the Academy Award®-nominated “Zero Dark Thirty,” “The Master” and executive produced “Spring Breakers” via her Annapurna Pictures banner and has David O. Russell’s “American Hustle,” Spike Jonze’s “Her,” and Bennett Miller’s “Foxcatcher” set for release later this year.

The creators of Reno 911 are back. This time around, they’re taking on a whole new genre.

Hell Baby is a new horror-comedy that follows an expectant couple’s moves into the most haunted fixer-upper in New Orleans — a house with a deadly demonic curse. Obviously, weird things start happening, including the possession of the couple’s female member… and the unborn baby inside her.

It sounds silly, but it looks hilarious. If Reno 911 is any indication, the team behind Hell Baby knows exactly what they’re doing. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Hell Baby hits iTunes on July 25th!

“Hell Baby,” a comedy scripted by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant (Night at The Museum, Reno 911!: Miami) marks their co-directing debut. Jack (Rob Corddry) and Vanessa (Leslie Bibb) are an expectant couple that moves into the most haunted fixer-upper in New Orleans — a house with a deadly demonic curse. Things soon spiral out of control for Jack and Vanessa, as well as their-not-so-helpful neighbor F’Resnel (Keegan-Michael Key), Vanessa’s friendly psychiatrist (Michael Ian Black), Vanessa’s Wiccan sister Marjorie (Riki Lindhome) and the detectives assigned to look into the rising body count (Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer). Only the Vatican’s elite exorcism team (Garant and Lennon) san save them — or can they?

Briefly: The second film in the Hunger Games franchise is still months away from release, but Summit Entertainment is already hard at work securing talent for the next chapter.

Deadline reports that Lionsgate is courting Julianne Moore to join Mockingjay in the role of President Alma Coin. The role would cover both Mockingjay films, as Coin is a rather prominent character.

I haven’t read The Hunger Games series, so I have no idea how well Moore would fit in the role. She’s not yet signed either, so we’ll update you as soon as we get confirmation. Fans of the novels, would the casting fit? Is there anyone else you’d prefer to see play the president? Sound out below!

Earlier this month, Summit Entertainment released the first poster for their upcoming jailbreak film, Escape Plan. Today, IGN debuted the first trailer for the movie.

As expected, the movie looks pretty ridiculous. That being said, Escape Plan stars both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. It definitely looks to have the 80’s / early 90’s action movie feel, and should be a blast for anyone who’s a fan of the genre.

Escape Plan hits theatres on October 18th. Check out the first trailer below, and let us know what you think!

One of the world’s foremost authorities on structural security agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called “The Tomb.” Deceived and wrongly imprisoned, Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built. Escape Plan is the first pairing of action legends Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in leading roles, and co-stars Jim Caviezel, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D’Onofrio and Amy Ryan.

Briefly: Just weeks after Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time got an official release date, that release has been postponed.

The game’s official twitter account revealed the news earlier today. There’s no explanation of the delay, but the launch is now set for later in the Summer.

Plants Vs. Zombies remains one of the most addicting Tower Defense games that I’ve ever played. Like most, I’m excited for the sequel, but am wary that it’s taken on the free-to-play model. How do you feel about the upcoming sequel?

Every time that I see a new preview for Red 2, I get more and more excited for it. I’ve been meaning to watch the first film for some time now, and with just a few weeks to go until Red 2‘s release, I better get on it!

Summit Entertainment has just released two new TV spots for the film, which help solidify the fact that it should be a lot of fun. Much of the cast from the first Red return, including Bruce Willis, Hellen Mirren, John Malkovich, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and plenty of others! Take a look at the new spots below, and let us know what you think!

In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.

Briefly: First releasing on the Xbox 360 all the way back in 2010, Limbo is finally set to hit your mobile devices.

Developer Playdead today announced that Limbo will release on iOS devices on July 3rd for a cool $4.99. The app will be universal, meaning that one purchase will cover both the iPad and iPhone/iPod version of the game. I sure hope cloud save support also makes it into the title.

If you haven’t yet experienced Limbo, the game is a fantastic experience for any platformer fan. I’m interested to see how it made the transition to touchscreen, but I’d expect the title to play just as smoothly as its console/pc counterpart.

Watch the trailer for Limbo below, and let us know if you’ll be picking up the mobile edition!

Lionsgate has just released the first trailer for their upcoming drama/comedy, Thanks For Sharing.

The film looks to take a pretty original take on the standard rom-com formula, in that the story revolves around three sex-addicts attempting to live normal lives. The trailer is a fairly standard affair, but Thanks For Sharing looks to have a pretty fantastic cast, so it may be a film to watch out for.

Take a look at the first trailer below, and let us know what you think! Thanks For Sharing stars our main man Mark Ruffalo, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow, Josh Gad, Pink, Tim Robbins, and others. The film is set to hit theatres on September 20th.

A comic and moving look at a new kind of modern family, as a group of friends in recovery learns to face life together with heart, humor and humility.

Briefly: It looks like Kick-Ass 2‘s viral marketing campaign has started off with a bang.

A new website, wearejusticeforever.com has just launched, featuring the following introduction video:

http://youtu.be/pWeUjhp_J2A

The campaign urges you to campaign your friends to join Justice Forever, and actually has a lot of cool prizes up for grabs. From posters to clothing, all the way to cash and a two-night trip to SDCC. Sounds like this campaign may just be worth sharing.

Let us know what you think of the site, and if you’ll be entering the contests! Kick-Ass 2 hits theatres on August 16th!

Just yesterday, Fox released a beautiful sumi-e The Wolverine poster featuring Jean Grey. Today, three more characters got the sumi-e treatment. The latest posters feature Harada, Mariko, and Shingen, and just as before, I’d love to get every single one of these up on my wall.

If the film turns out half as good as these posters, we’re in for a treat with The Wolverine. Check out the new images below, and be sure to let us know what you think!

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality. Directed By James Mangold, The Wolverine hits theaters in 2D & 3D on July 26, 2013.

I’ll be damned. This game looks to be coming together very nicely.

Viacom has unveiled a new character trailer for the upcoming downloadable title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. The game is set to release for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in August, and is based on the original Turtles comics, rather than any of the recent television adaptations.

The game looks much darker than any of the mediocre Turtles’ games from the past few years, and the gameplay looks very solid. Arguably, we haven’t had a great TMNT game since the Super Nintendo days, so Out of the Shadows could be a welcome change to that trend.

Take a look at Leondardo’s trailer below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the game!

Summit Entertainment’s anticipated adaptation of Veronica Roth’s Divergent is less than a year away, and the studio has just revealed 10 awesome new stills from the film.

Divergent is set in a post-apocalyptic Chicago, and has an absolutely star-studded cast: Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Tony Goldwyn, Ray Stevenson, and plenty of others are featured in starring roles. It’s still unknown whether the all-but-guaranteed success of Divergent has anything to do with Woodley’s alleged recasting in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on the situation.

Take a look at the new stills below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the film. Are you a fan of the source material, or will you be checking it out before the movie hits theatres?

SHAILENE WOODLEY stars in DIVERGENT

DIVERGENT is a thrilling adventure set in a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities. Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it’s too late.

Following our first looks at BumblebeeHound, an unnamed Lamborghini,  Optimus Prime, and two other vehicles, Michael Bay has unveiled one more car for the upcoming Transformers 4.

No character info has been revealed about the latest vehicle. The description that accompanies the image states: “Considered a masterpiece of design and engineering, this fierce, 2013 blood red Pagani Huayra, is named after an ancient Andean God of Wind.”

Like all of the other vehicles revealed, this one looks insanely fast, incredible expensive, and is likely a poor ‘disguise’ for any robot trying to hide inside. Take a look at the Pagani Huayra below, and let us know who you’d like to see it transform into!

This may be Pacific Rim‘s best preview yet.

Idris Elba’s fantastic ‘cancel the apocalypse’ speech overlays some incredible Kaiju/Jaeger action, and really sets a phenomenal tone for the upcoming film. The action looks amazing, the cinematography and sound are beyond impressive, and the plot sounds solid. I hope that Pacific Rim does well for Legendary, as I already feel as though this world needs to be expanded.

Watch the new spot below, and let us know what you think! Pacific Rim hits theatres on July 12th!

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

I’d love to frame and mount every single poster for The Wolverine. The incredible sumi-e art style has impressed me since the very first teaser image, and today’s Jean Grey is just as awesome.

It’s unknown just how prominent Famke Janssen’s role in the film will be, but it has been confirmed that she will appear in a flashback sequence. The actress was a great choice for the Jean Grey character, and I can’t wait to see some new scenes with her.

Take a look at the new poster below, and let us know what you think of it! The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th!

Damnit. I wish I wasn’t hours away from my nearest IMAX.

The FanFix poster series continues with this Summer’s release of Pacific Rim, and this poster may just be the best yet. The LA Times Hero Complex premiered the poster today, which was created by artist Sergio Grisanti. Pacific Rim director Guillermo Del Toro had this to say about the beautifully crafted image:

“I am thrilled to introduce Sergio Grisanti to the world. For years he has been a highly respected commercial artist. When I was first exposed to his art for ‘Pacific Rim,’ I knew instantly that he was a powerhouse of talent. He created the Jaeger posters/card art we used at WonderCon. Without any hesitation I asked him to create this new Imax Fanfix art. Look at it closely — with a magnifying glass! So much going on! Such power! Such beauty! Sergio loves his Kaijus and his Mecha, and it shows. The poster, like my film, is a tribute to well-loved things. I wish all the fans the best time at the first Imax screenings of ‘Pacific Rim.’ Enjoy!”

The poster will be given to attendees of Pacific Rim‘s first IMAX screenings. Head here to see if your local theatre is participating! Take a look at Sergio’s poster below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Less than one day after Jim Carrey renounced support for Kick-Ass 2, Universal has debuted a new poster for it.

Coincidentally enough, 25% of the image is filled with Carrey’s character, Colonel Stars and Stripes.

If the first film was any indication, Kick-Ass 2 should be an absolute blast. Take a look at the new poster below, and let us know what you think! Kick-Ass 2 hits theatres on August 16th!

KickAss

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2.  After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol.  When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.

When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.

Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets,  the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.

Can you believe that it’s been five years since a Hayao Miyazaki directed film has been released? How much more exciting does that make this movie?

The Wind Rises is just a few weeks away from Japanese theatres, and Studio Ghibli has just debuted the first teaser for the film. The movie is an adaptation of a novel about the life of Tatsuo Hori, the individual who designed the Zero Fighter plane used by the Japanese in World War II.

The teaser is, of course, in Japanese, so I don’t really know what’s going on. In any case, it looks absolutely gorgeous, and I can’t wait until The Wind Rises hits North America. Watch the teaser below, and let us know what you think!

Speaking of Studio Ghibli, is anyone playing Ni No Kuni?

Deadpool’s new game is almost here!

Fittingly titled, Deadpool hits stores tomorrow, and it surprisingly looks fantastic. The game was first announced at SDCC last year and has been garnering plenty of excitement ever since.

Deadpool comes from High Moon Studios, developers of Darkwatch, The Bourne Conspiracy, and a plethora (well, 3) of well reviewed Transformers titles. I’m a big fan of their previous work, so Deadpool should be right up my alley. Plus, the game was written by Deadpool regular Daniel Way, and the character is voiced by Deadpool’s regular voice actor, Nathan North.

The studio has just released a launch trailer for the game, which gives you a great idea of what to expect of the full package. Watch the trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be picking it up!

Jim Carrey is no longer a fan of Kick-Ass.

The actor, who plays Colonel Stars and Stripes in Kick-Ass 2, has renounced support for the film after current events like the Sandy Hook shooting caused him to have a change of heart. Carrey took to twitter to share his thoughts:

Of course, Kick-Ass 2 won’t be changing because of this realization, but it likely means that Carrey won’t be doing any press for the film.

Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar later took to his blog and responded to Carrey’s remarks. Here’s the text in full:

First off, I love Jim Carrey. When producer Matthew Vaughn and director Jeff Wadlow called me up and suggested we do a conference call with him to talk about the sequel to the 2010 original I was genuinely excited. Like you, I love Eternal Sunshine, Man on the Moon and The Truman Show. Carrey is an actor like no other, an unpredictable force of nature who brings a layered warmth and humanity to his work as well as that unstoppable energy he’s always been renowned for. He had lunch with Matthew around the time of the first movie and dug it so much he appeared that night on Conan O’Brien DRESSED as Kick-Ass, singing a duet with Conan dressed as Superman. Vaughn and I made a mental note to work with this guy as soon as possible as we’re both huge admirers.

Cut to almost three years later and I’m sitting in a screening room in London watching what I think is one of Carrey’s best-ever performances. I’d seen Kick-Ass 2 in many forms, but this was the absolute final cut complete with opening titles, music and a terrific post-credit sequence you’re all going to love. I couldn’t be happier with this picture. It’s as good as the original and in many ways BIGGER as it expands upon the universe and really takes things to the next level. There are a lot of stand-outs in the sequel, every actor really firing on full cylinders and an amazing script that moves like a rocket. But Carrey in particular is magnificent. He’s never done anything like this before and even from the trailer, with his masked dog sidekick specially trained to munch criminal balls, you can see that something really fun and special is happening here. Colonel Stars and Stripes is so charismatic and all his scenes are up there with Nic Cage’s amazing turn as Big Daddy in the original… which made it all the more surprising when Jim announced tonight that the gun-violence in Kick-Ass 2 has made him withdraw his support from the picture.

As you may know, Jim is a passionate advocate of gun-control and I respect both his politics and his opinion, but I’m baffled by this sudden announcement as nothing seen in this picture wasn’t in the screenplay eighteen months ago. Yes, the body-count is very high, but a movie called Kick-Ass 2 really has to do what it says on the tin. A sequel to the picture that gave us HIT-GIRL was always going to have some blood on the floor and this should have been no shock to a guy who enjoyed the first movie so much. My books are very hardcore, but the movies are adapted for a more mainstream audience and if you loved the tone of the first picture you’re going to eat this up with a big, giant spoon. Like Jim, I’m horrified by real-life violence (even though I’m Scottish), but Kick-Ass 2 isn’t a documentary. No actors were harmed in the making of this production! This is fiction and like Tarantino and Peckinpah, Scorcese and Eastwood, John Boorman, Oliver Stone and Chan-Wook Park, Kick-Ass avoids the usual bloodless body-count of most big summer pictures and focuses instead of the CONSEQUENCES of violence, whether it’s the ramifications for friends and family or, as we saw in the first movie, Kick-Ass spending six months in hospital after his first street altercation. Ironically, Jim’s character in Kick-Ass 2 is a Born-Again Christian and the big deal we made of the fact that he refuses to fire a gun is something he told us attracted him to the role in the first place.

Ultimately, this is his decision, but I’ve never quite bought the notion that violence in fiction leads to violence in real-life any more than Harry Potter casting a spell creates more Boy Wizards in real-life. Our job as storytellers is to entertain and our toolbox can’t be sabotaged by curtailing the use of guns in an action-movie. Imagine a John Wayne picture where he wasn’t packing or a Rocky movie where Stallone wasn’t punching someone repeatedly in the face. Our audience is smart enough to know they’re all pretending and we should instead just sit back and enjoy the serotonin release of seeing bad guys meeting bad ends as much as we enjoyed seeing the Death Star exploding. The action in Kick-Ass 2 is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The humour, the characters, the heart and the set-pieces are all things we’re very proud of and the only warning I’d really include is that it’s almost TOO EXCITING. Kick-Ass 2 is fictional fun so let’s focus our ire instead of the real-life violence going on in the world like the war in Afghanistan, the alarming tension in Syria right now and the fact that Superman just snapped a guy’s fucking neck.

Jim, I love ya and I hope you reconsider for all the above points. You’re amazing in this insanely fun picture and I’m very proud of what Jeff, Matthew and all the team have done here.

Love and Peace,

Mark Millar

What do you think of the situation? What about Millar’s response? Will this change how you watch Kick-Ass 2?

Just yesterday, Sound Works Collection debuted a fantastic Man of Steel featurette focussed entirely on the film’s amazing sound design. Today, they’ve done the same thing with June 14th’s other majour release, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us.

The game is selling like hot cakes, and for good reason: this is possibly one of the most intense, frightening, and beautiful gaming experiences ever crafted. From graphics, to gameplay, and of course, sound, The Last of Us is a masterpiece by all counts.

The video features Game Director Bruce Straley, Creative Director Neil Druckmann, Senior Sound Designer Derrick Espino, Audio Lead Phillip Kovats, Senior Audio Programmer Jonathan Lanier, and Music Manager, Jonathan Mayer, and is a must-watch for anyone that’s interested in the game.

Watch the featurette below, and be sure to let us know what you think of the game!

Summit Entertainment has just released the first clip from Red 2, and it’s very, very fun.

The clip, titled Show Me Something, features Byung Hun Lee and Helen Mirren in the midst of a shootout… while driving a ridiculous car. It certainly looks like an absolute blast, and is likely a great representation movie’s tone.

Take a look at the clip below, and let us know what you think! Red 2 hits theatres on July 19th!

Briefly: Back in May, William Fichtner joined the Michael Bay produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in an unspecified, yet ‘iconic’ role. Seeing as the turtles had already been cast, and Fichtner doesn’t really fit the Master Splinter look, it was assumed that the actor would be playing Shredder in the film.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Fichtner has confirmed our speculation:

I play Shredder. It is cool. It’s one of those things that came along where I thought, “Really? Let me think about this for a minute.” [Laughs] Then I was like, “Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey.” I’m very glad that it worked out, I’m really glad that I’m doing it.

Fichtner is a pretty phenomenal actor, and I’m really looking forward to seeing his Shredder portrayal. What do you think of the casting choice? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is set to hit theatres on June 6th, 2014.

Just one week after Man of Steel’s worldwide release (and one day after we talked about it with Ian Kerner), Warner Bros. has unveiled an awesome new featurette for the film.

This one is very cool, and well worth the 11-minute runtime. The video takes us behind the scenes of the movie’s sound design, and it’s incredible to be able to see how they came up with the fantastic audio for this film.

I won’t spoil things, so watch the featurette below and let us know what you think! Don’t forget to tell us what you thought of the movie!

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Bah. This game can’t release soon enough.

Warner Bros. Interactive has debuted the first TV spot for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins. The preview is short, sweet, and to the point, featuring an extremely quick duel between Batman and Deathstroke.

Of course, the purpose of the spot is to advertise the fact that you can play as Deathstroke if you preorder the title. Sounds like a pretty good incentive, huh?

Watch the first spot below, and let us know what you think! Batman: Arkham Origins hits stores on October 25th!

Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline occurring several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, witness identities being formed and key relationships being forged.
