Ouch, my wallet.

This morning’s pre-E3 Super Smash Bros. focussed direct confirmed yesterday’s Roy and Ryu rumours, and surprisingly enough, those characters, along with the previously-announce returning fighter Lucas, are available right now (more on that in another post).

Also revealed, more of my favourite and most hated items in the entire universe, Amiibo.

During the stream, the big N revealed that every Super Smash Bros. character will receive and Amiibo figure. This includes Roy, Ryu and the other DLC characters, and… I’m going to go freaking broke.

The next wave of Amiibo figures was also revealed, and include R.O.B., Mr. Game and Watch, Duck Hunt, and Falco. They’ll join the previously announced Bowser Jr., Dr. Mario, Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, and Olimar this September. This is terrifying. Wave 4 was hard enough to acquire, and Nintendo doesn’t seem to be getting any better at stocking these things, so with an even bigger wave on its way, I really don’t know what I’m going to do. As you can see from the video, the Mr. Game and Watch Amiibo has various poses, which is a cool distinction that we haven’t seen in the other figures.

Are you still on the Amiibo hunt? Who are you missing so far? Are you planning to collect the entire Smash series? Sound out below!

Briefly: Just days after the Matt Damon headliner The Martian (watch the first trailer here) was pulled forward to October 2nd, Olympus Has Fallen follow-up London Has Fallen has been pushed from that date… all the way to 2016.

Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman all return for the sequel, which will now hit theatres on January 22nd, 2016.

Olympus Has Fallen was an absolute blast, and really came out of nowhere for me. I’m not quite sure how I feel about this follow-up, but I’m more than willing to give it a chance. Are you looking forward to the film? Sound out in the comments below!

Briefly: It’s finally here!

Yep, Jurassic World was a damned fun movie, but we’re almost more excited for Lego Jurassic World. The game is now available for PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360. Xbox One, Wii U, 3DS, and Steam, and it looks like an absolute blast.

Following the epic storylines of Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III, as well as the newly-released Jurassic World, LEGO Jurassic World is the first video game in which players will be able to relive and experience all four “Jurassic” films. Reimagined in LEGO form and told in TT Games’ signature classic LEGO humor, the thrilling adventure recreates unforgettable scenes and action sequences from the films, allowing fans to play through key moments and giving them the opportunity to fully explore the expansive grounds of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna.

In the game, players will be able to collect precious amber, which contains dinosaur DNA to create and customize species. And, for the first time in a LEGO game, players will be able to play as LEGO dinosaurs, including dinosaurs from the “Jurassic Park” series and from the upcoming Jurassic World film. Populate and explore Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna by putting your unique dinosaur creations in to paddocks as you complete special Free Play missions.

Hopefully playing through The Lost World and Jurassic Park III is a better experience than watching them was! Take a look at the launch trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Back in December of last year, Capcom unveiled the highly anticipated Street Fighter V… as a PC and PS4 exclusive.

Now, fans (and non-PS4 owners) everywhere have simply assumed that this was a timed exclusive, and that Xbox players would surely see the game on their console of choice soon after launch.

Apparently, this is not the case. Speaking with Gamespot, a Capcom representative confirmed that Street Fighter 5 is never leaving the Playstation console:

One comment we see a lot is that something like a Super Street Fighter 5 is going to come out on Xbox, but the reality is that this is a real partnership. We are console exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run.

We’re not talking about how we’re handling post-launch content, but I can say the relationship with Sony does open doors for things we haven’t been able to do in the past.

The relationship serves a gameplay and development purpose, and not just a marketing value.

Fighting fans, does this news make you more likely to pick up a PS4? Or skip out on SFV entirely? Me? I’m still bummed out that Rise of the Tomb Raider is only headed to Xbox One.

Saruman, Count Dooku, Dracula, and more, prolific actor Sir Christopher Lee has passed away at 93, after being hospitalized on Sunday for respiratory issues and heart failure.

Lee appeared in over 250 films over his lifetime, and was most known for his villainous roles in Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings.

Many however, aren’t aware that Lee was also a musician and a lover of heavy metal music. He even released his own heavy metal Christmas album, and it’s freaking awesome.

Christopher Lee, you will be missed. What was your favourite of the actor’s many, many roles?

Briefly: Production on AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead is currently underway (which is great, because it’s set to premiere this Summer), and the network has just debuted the first poster for the upcoming series.

The first season will consist of six episodes, and a second season has already been confirmed.

I’m certainly interested to see how the series will turn out, especially as it explores the ‘early’ days of the infection, which is an avenue not explored in any medium that The Walking Dead has taken thus far.

In any case, take a look at the poster below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the series. Again, Fear the Walking Dead will premiere on AMC in late Summer!

Briefly: The first trailer for 505 Games next title, Adr1ft has hit the web a little earlier than its E3 debut.

The game “is an immersive First Person Experience (FPX) that tells the story of an astronaut in peril. Floating silently amongst the wreckage of a destroyed space station with no memory and a severely damaged EVA suit slowly leaking oxygen, the only survivor struggles to determine the cause of the catastrophic event that took the lives of everyone on board. The player fights to stay alive by exploring the wreckage for precious resources, and overcomes the challenges of an unforgiving environment to repair the damaged EEV and safely return home.”

It basically sounds like Gravity: The Game, and that’s so awesome. This seriously looks like it could be an incredible experience.

The title is slated for September on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and the PC version even includes freaking Oculus support. I can’t even imagine trying that (though if I had a computer capable I would totally love to).

Take a look at the first trailer below, and let us know what you think! If you’re looking for more from 505 Games, we had Brandon Cox on the show late last year!

Another year has passed, and another E3 fast approaches. What an interesting and frustrating year it’s been. Sure, we saw some phenomenal titles released over the last 12 months (The Witcher 3 has already become one of my favourite games of all time), but we also saw some titles that looked so promising release without much content (Destiny), more delays than we can count (Zelda, Batman, everything else), and nearly two years into their life-cycles, both the PS4 and Xbox One are plagued with remastered versions of last-gen titles instead of all new experiences.

But E3 is where everything (hopefully) changes. We’ll see a myriad of new announcements, promising titles from indie devs and AAA studios alike, a ton of VR, and hopefully some things that we haven’t even imagined to this point. With one of our most anticipated titles being announced the week before the expo, it’s going to take some big reveals to top Bethesda showing off Fallout 4.

It’s been awhile since we’ve done a roundtable piece here at Geekscape, and with most of our writers being gamers as well, what better way to bring the roundtable back than by asking everyone what they’re most looking forward to at E3 (or what they predict we’ll see).

Check back with Geekscape for E3 news as it happens, and be sure to listen to the Geekscape Games podcast, where Shane, Juan, Josh, and Derek chat video games and more each and every week.

For the first time in years, I’m not attending E3. Repeatedly, while Xbox and Sony beat each other up in a race to announce the next exclusive or HD next-gen remake of a last-gen game, the excitement on the floor has centered on the indie marketplace games coming to Steam, PSN, Xbox Live and Nintendo’s eShop. It’s where I find the most exciting and risk driven titles each year. Or maybe just the most hilarious like last year’s Bro Force and Cloudberry Kingdom from two years ago. As I get busier, the number of giant Triple-A titles I can consume each year shrinks and I find myself able to play more titles like Guacamelee or Pokémon Shuffle for 15 minutes at a time than anything else. Not to say I’m not looking forward to Arkham Knight, but the urgency is no longer there.

That is, unless we’re talking about Zelda for the Wii U. If the rumors are true, this E3 will be all about Star Fox for Nintendo, and for sure I’m looking forward to it. But as one of my top 3 franchises in all of gaming, and after that long gameplay trailer we saw a few months ago, I couldn’t be more excited for Zelda’s arrival to the world of HD (I’m not counting Windwaker HD!). Zelda Skyrim, as many of us are calling it, shows all the promise of the best Zelda game yet and hopefully we don’t end up with another fetch-quest based game like Skyward Sword. Still, I’m getting my hopes up. As much as I’d love some more news on Zelda Wii U, I’ll be patient and realistic. The game has been delayed in order to implement more ideas and will probably barely get a mention from our friend Reggie. I’ll let Starfox tie me over this year and look forward for a big return to Hyrule in 2016. I just hope it’s not buried by the coming of the NX, or whatever Nintendo’s next mystery console ends up being.

Megan Haley

I’m really excited to see all the new HD remastered versions of games that I played last year. I mean, who wouldn’t be excited for Knack: Remastered! Hopefully they would remake it into a something that resembles entertainment this time around.

Seriously though, I’m excited to see what Vicarious Visions is doing with the latest Skylanders game. I always felt that the series had more potential as a game than what Activision has ran with so far. The original Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure for 3DS was amazing gameplay-wise, and I’m hoping that with VV back at the helm that they can bring back some of the same stellar gameplay from the first DS incarnation.

I’m also looking forward to what new tech they’ll show for VR hardware. I’ve had a few hands-on with Oculus Rift before and the future of VR technology is super exciting.

Eric Francisco

I’m absolutely conflicted about E3 this year. On one hand, I’m jaded. The current console generation in its entirety hasn’t captivated me enough to want to stay plugged in. Believe it or not, I’m still playing on my Xbox 360 taking care of unfinished business — achievements I could still go after and games I hadn’t completed.

Neither the Xbox One or the PS4 have too many incentives to pick one or the other. The only reason I have an Xbox One is because I took advantage of a retail promotion. If it weren’t for that I wouldn’t have one at all.

On the other hand, this might be the year the generation finally matters to me. Arkham Knight is out in just a few short weeks, Halo 5 is on the horizon, and Final Fantasy XV is somewhere around the corner.

I could bother to mention more games that might make me glad I’ve joined the current gen, but there is only one, and ONLY one game that will make or break E3 for me: Mass Effect 4. I want to know as much about that game as possible, and if they happen to announce a 2016 release date I may immediately suffer a heart attack.

Jake Lopez

A Summer hallmark among my circle, E3 continually provides cheers, empty promises, and, if we’re being honest, sadness. If there’s one thing I’ve noticed about E3 2015 is the lack of major leaks before the show kicks off. Anyone who’s really in tune with leaks will be able to find them through a few minutes of google searches, but I believe presenters have a few tricks left up their sleeves. Hopefully we can actually be surprised this year.

One thing that worries me is the potential for remastered collections of past video games. Up until now, gamers were treated to upgraded versions of GTA: V, Halo, Last of Us, and Tomb Raider. It won’t stop there. In fact, I’m sure we can expect a couple of remasters on both the Microsoft and Sony platforms. I’m all for remasters, but lets just hope they’re not the center of attention in this year’s keynotes.

Now, for some wild predictions:

  • Nintendo announces a new console
  • An announcement from Activision/Bungie for a new Destiny title
  • Microsoft announces a few cross-platform titles that will group console gamers with PC gamers
  • Rockstar announces a new Red Dead title

It should come as no surprise that Nintendo’s E3 presentation is the one I’m looking most forward to.

With the announcement of Zelda Wii U being pushed back to 2016, I’m curious what Nintendo plans to release this holiday season–especially when they are going up against Halo 5 and Star Wars: Battlefront. Star Fox Wii U is still on track to be out this year, but I don’t know if Nintendo would place the weight of their holiday sales hopes on the shoulders of Fox McCloud and company. Unless Star Fox Wii U ends up blowing us all away at E3 with incredible game mechanics and multiplayer modes which made StarFox 64 a commercial success, Nintendo needs to show off a new Metroid or Super Mario Galaxy game. Devil’s Thirds, Mario Maker, and DLC for Smash Bros. and Splatoon will undoubtedly get Nintendo fans hyped up for the remainder of 2015, but what will attract those who have yet to purchase a Wii U?

Of course, this wouldn’t be E3 without some Smash Bros. talk, so let’s get right to it. With Mewtwo making his long-overdue return and Lucas arriving June 14, I’m willing to be Sakurai makes an announcement concerning the addition of at least two more DLC characters. Will it actually be Ryu and Roy as rumored back in April, or will it be two new fighters from the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot? (Shovel Knight, please). Hopefully we also get an update on the online tournament mode. That feature alone would keep the online community satiated for years.

And while we won’t get to purchase a new Zelda game this year, I’m sure we will get an update on what Aonuma and his team have developed thus far with the extra time alloted. Another teaser trailer wouldn’t be too much to ask, right?

My mind is just flooding with possibilities and wild hopes, and I know Nintendo will have a slew of titles that will keep many Nintendo fans like myself happy, but one thing is for sure—I won’t be hoping for any news of The Last Guardian. I’m done waiting in that pumpkin patch.

E3 2015. I am so incredibly torn on this years conference. Last year my favorite developer, Ubisoft, really lost my faith. The entire AC: Unity debacle (and their dubious decisions with Tetris) made me question their sanity.

That being said, like a domestic abuse victim, I couldn’t be more hype for their press conference. Rainbow Six Siege, The Division, the new Assassins Creed and any new original IPs they come out with (thought I honestly think this year won’t be the year of anything brand new from the Frenchies) will get me going.

I pray that there will be more Battlefront info, maybe a playable demo or beta invites?

I have a feeling that this year may be the year Sony announces a new handheld to compete with the New 3DS, at the least they’re going to announce and even SLIMMER Vita!

I expect the DOOM reboot to have some serious in game content at the Bethesda conference.

My biggest wish would be some new, first party games from Valve. A huge expansion to Global Offensive? More info on Source 2? Half Life 3? Half Life 2 HD Remake?

Derek Kraneveldt

Whatever happens at this year’s expo, I’m already a happy camper: one of the games that I’ve been waiting for for years was announced last week (instead of stealing the freaking show). Fallout 3 is one of my favourite games ever, and I didn’t love New Vegas, which means I’m more than ready to see Bethesda Softworks at the helm of this one. Seriously, it looks so good.

Really, the stuff that I want to see announced, well, never gets announced. So maybe this year, if I don’t think about The Last Guardian or Half Life 3, they’ll actually happen? A watched pot never boils, right? Right.

Some of the games I’m most looking forward to seeing this year are new iterations of games I played when I was younger. I put countless hours into Need for Speed Underground and Need For Speed Underground 2, and EA’s newly announced title (so far) looks like a spiritual successor. Awesome. Plus, Tony Hawk is coming back, and if it’s even a little better than the last seven or eight Tony Hawk titles, it should be pretty alright.

Had things gone a little differently, I’d probably go off about how freaking excited I am to see more from Konami and Silent Hills. The clever announcement of that game coming from Hideo Kojima, Guillermo Del Toro, and Norman Reedus, may have been the most excited I’ve ever been for a game. Silent Hill is my favourite game series, and it’s a series that fell from greatness, became absolute trash, and apparently can’t get back up. Damn. On the horror front, I hope that The Deep End Games is on the floor with Perception, because that game looks insane, as does Frictional Games’ Amnesia follow-up, SOMA.

One last thought. Please, Nintendo, hold back on the Amiibo announcements. You’re already making me broke, and I’m living in constant fear that I’ll miss a pre-order because your company has no freaking idea how to keep stores even semi-adequately stocked.

There’s just a week until showtime, so be sure to let us know what you’re hoping to see at this year’s E3!

Briefly: If you’ve listened to the last couple of episodes of Geekscape Games (here and here, it’s good, we promise… maybe), you’ll know just how enamoured I’ve become with The Witcher 3 over the past couple of weeks. The game comes in a noteworthy physical package that surprised the hell out of me, and it’s held my interest more than any other RPG in as long as I can remember (even more than Ni No Kuni did). In the short time that the game has been out, the developer has released numerous patches improving performance, adding content, and even creating a colourblind mode than I am so f

It seems as though a ton of other people have fallen in love with the game as well, as CD Projekt Red has revealed that The Witcher 3 has sold over 4 million copies in just two weeks.

CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwiński released the following message today on the company’s official blog:

May 19th was a crucial date for all of us here at CD PROJEKT RED — we released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, our open world role-playing game that we had been hard at work on for over 3 years. Since day one, you have given us tons of positive feedback and support — the sheer volume of emails we’ve gotten since launch simply congratulating us for our efforts is both epic and heartwarming, and I wish every developer comes to have such a fantastic community. In terms of media reception, we’re really humbled by the scores the game has received all around the world. With an average of 90+ on every platform, Wild Hunt is our dream coming true.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the four million gamers worldwide who bought The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the first two weeks from launch. Four million RPG fans spending their hard-earned money on our game is a sign that we did something right, and you can be sure that we’ll harness all that positive energy and make the upcoming expansions worthy of the grand adventure that you’re telling us Wild Hunt already is! Until then, keep on enjoying Wild Hunt, do not forget to grab your weekly set of free DLCs, and stay tuned for constant updates and enhancement to the game we are continuously working on.

Dandelion once said to Geralt that the world is changing, the sun is setting, and vodka’s running out — go, play, and have fun!

The Witcher 3 is an incredible experience, and I’m extremely glad to see the company finding success. Pick it up if you haven’t yet, and if you have, be sure to let us know how you’re liking it so far!

Briefly: Yep, a Scream TV series is incoming, and it launches on June 30th. The show looks cheesy-as-hell in classic Scream fashion, which could be exactly what television needs right now, amidst all of the gritty, dark, depressing series that are so prominent today.

The official tagline for the series is “Everyone has secrets. Everyone tells lies. Everyone is fair game,” and I have to say that, even though I don’t really remember Scream (I was a young boy when the first film released), I’m intrigued by the self-aware musings of the series.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be watching when Scream releases on June 30th!

What starts as a YouTube video going viral, soon leads to problems for the teenagers of Lakewood and serves as the catalyst for a murder that opens up a window to the town’s troubled past.

Briefly: Well this came out of nowhere.

Marvel has just announced that The Walking Dead and Fury actor Jon Bernthal has been cast as Frank Castle, and that he’ll first appear in next year’s second season of Daredevil.

Marvel states that “He is a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results.” The first season of Daredevil marked some of the most graphic TV that I can recall watching, and I can’t wait to see just how far they can turn things up with Punisher.

Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television stated that “Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

I knew that Punisher rights reverted back to Marvel recently, but I certainly didn’t expect them to jump on the character like this. What do you think of Bernthal for role? Is there anyone else you’d rather have seen as Frank Castle?

Daredevil‘s second season hits Netflix in 2016.

Bernthal

Briefly: Following the first poster from a few weeks back, Lionsgate has finally released the first trailer for this November’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. The video features a decidedly angry Katniss giving a monologue agains Snow, rallying the people agains the Capitol, and plenty of other rebellion-esque activities.

As disappointed as I was in the first film in the series, I loved every second of Catching Fire, and though I enjoyed what I saw in Mockingjay‘s first chapter, the film felt (understandably) like an incomplete story.  As such, I can’t wait to see where things go, as I haven’t read a single word of the series of novels.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 hits theatres on November 20th!

Briefly: It’s finally here!

Preceding the release of the Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett produced Justice League: Gods and Monsters on July 28th, Machinima, Blue Ribbon Content, and DC Entertainment have teamed up for Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles. The series turns the DC Universe upside-down. In this dark, alternate world, telling the good guys from the bad guys is never easy: Superman is not the son of Jor-El, he’s the son of General Zod; Wonder Woman is not from peaceful Themyscira, but rather the warring nation of Ares; and Batman is more vampire-bat than man…and he’s not Bruce Wayne. It is unclear if our greatest heroes are here to protect us…or to rule us.

Sounds freaking awesome, right? Well you can watch the first episode right here, right now. Episode two will follow on Wednesday, June 10, and the third and final episode of the first season on Friday, June 12. Then, we’ll see a second season next year!

Take a look at the first episode below, and let us know what you think! Are you looking forward to Justice League: Gods and Monsters next month?

Briefly: After binging Marvel’s Daredevil back in April, we’ve all been beyond ready for AKA Jessica Jones to hit the streets ever since.

The show is still slated to release this year, but with a slight change in title, according to ComicBook.com.

The title has been shortened from AKA Jessica Jones, to simply Jessica Jones. For simplicity’s sake (and to keep up with the naming conventions of other Marvel/Netflix titles), I think that it’s a damn good move.

The new title was discovered via the following screen cap, which Marvel later confirmed.

Briefly: When Resident Evil HD Remaster became Capcom’s fastest selling digital title in history, and also broke the record for the biggest selling day one digital title on the PlayStation Network, we were pretty certain it wouldn’t be the last Resident Evil remaster we’d see.

We were (thankfully) right. A few weeks back, Capcom officially unveiled a remastered edition of Resident Evil 0, which is slated to hit PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in early 2016.

Being a survival horror fan who missed out Resident Evil up to this point (and also a gamer who thoroughly enjoyed the remaster of Resident Evil), I’m pretty excited to see where the series chronologically began.

The first trailer for the title has just been released, and it looks fantastic. You can take a look below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: We’re just a few weeks away from the holy-crap-I-can’t-wait-for-it return of HBO’s True Detective, and following the second season’s first trailer from a few weeks back, and the recent character posters, the network has debuted two new trailers for the upcoming episodes

This season’s tagline is “We get the world we deserve”, and creator Nic Pizzolatto stated this year was all about “hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system.”

This season, “A bizarre murder brings together three law-enforcement officers and a career criminal, each of whom must navigate a web of conspiracy and betrayal in the scorched landscapes of California. Colin Farrell is Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective in the all-industrial City of Vinci, LA County. Vince Vaughn plays Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his life’s work, while his wife and closest ally (Kelly Reilly), struggles with his choices and her own. Rachel McAdams is Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff’s detective often at odds with the system she serves, while Taylor Kitsch plays Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle cop for the California Highway Patrol who discovers a crime scene which triggers an investigation involving three law enforcement groups, multiple criminal collusions, and billions of dollars.”

Take a look at the trailers below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to True Detective‘s return.

Briefly: The park is finally almost open.

We’ve got less that one week of waiting until the highly anticipated Jurassic World hits theatres (it’s about time), and Universal has debuted the final trailer for the feature.

It shows off a ton of footage that we haven’t seen yet, and a ton of Indominus Rex, so you may want to stay away from the video if you’re hoping to head in spoiler free. For everyone else, the trailer takes a far more serious tone than we’ve seen thus far, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Jurassic World hits theatres on June 12th! Let us know how excited you are in the comments below.

Briefly: Yesterday, an ominous countdown appeared on Bethesda’s official Fallout website. We weren’t entirely sure if, when the countdown expired, we’d see the announcement of a new Fallout game, or if the publisher would simply tease us until E3 in a couple of weeks.

Well, Bethesda just saved us a ton of frustration, and essentially made us cream out pants in excitement, by revealing Fallout 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One today.

Bethesda notes that you can tune into their E3 Showcase on Sunday, June 14th at 7:00pm PT to see the world premiere of the game.

The cinematic trailer confirms that Fallout 4 takes place in the Commonwealth that we’ve heard so much about in previous games. This is, of course, the game’s version of Massachusetts.

Now, Fallout 3 is one of the few open world games that I’ve ever truly enjoyed (and I couldn’t put it down), and as such, I really, really, couldn’t be more excited for this. Judging from everything we’ve heard since the countdown went live yesterday, it sounds like most of you feel the same way.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you’d like to see in Fallout 4.

Briefly: Marvel’s Ant-Man is less than two months away from theatres at this point, and the studio has began to turn its marketing machine up to 11. Following the new poster from just a few days back, a new, one minute-long TV spot has just hit the web.

The spot features a ton of footage that we haven’t seen yet, and definitely looks to expand on the laughs that we first saw in the previous trailer.

In the film, “Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world”

Take a look at the preview below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see from the feature! Ant-Man hits theatres on July 17th!

Briefly: After countless rumours and an elaborate hoax over the past year, it appears that Bethesda is finally, actually about to announce Fallout 4, or at least something Fallout related.

The previous Fallout game was New Vegas all the way back in 2010, so it’s about freaking time they gave us something. Sure, Skyrim is cool, but it was never able to hold my attention the way that Fallout 3 did (New Vegas wasn’t really my thing).

Today, Bethesda’s official Fallout website was updated to a simple countdown that is slowly descending to tomorrow at 7AM.

We don’t know exactly what’s going to happen (do they flat out announce a game or tease us all the way to E3), but we’re pretty excited. Head to the countdown here, and let us know how excited you are.

Villager

Briefly: I was pretty freaking excited for David Sandberg’s Kung Fury when the Kickstarter campaign launched back in 2013, and two years later I’m just as enthusiastic.

While I haven’t had an opportunity to watch the 30 minute film yet (it’s been a busy day at work), I can’t wait to get home and turn it on. I just couldn’t wait to share, as I feel as though I’ve been waiting for this one forever.

Kung Fury is an over-the-top 80’s action comedy that was crowd funded through Kickstarter. It features Kung Fury, a Kung Fu renegade cop who travels back in time to kill his Nemesis, Hitler. The film features nazis, dinosaurs, vikings and cheesy one-liners.

Over 17000 people helped make this project come to life, and I’m extremely happy that they did. It looks freaking incredible.

Watch Kung Fury in full below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: This game seriously can’t come soon enough.

Rocksteady has just released seven minutes of gameplay footage from next month’s Batman: Arkham Knight, captured directly from the PS4 version of the game.

If you haven’t realized it from the numerous other trailers and previews, this game is insanely gorgeous, and incredibly smooth looking. Watching Bats fly around in this video is some of the most exciting open world travel I’ve seen in some time.

The video shows Batman meeting up with a familiar face before doing some destruction in the Batmobile. From all of the footage we’ve seen thus far, it looks like we’ll be spending quite a bit of time traversing terrain in the vehicle, and I couldn’t be more excited to try it out.

Take a look at the footage below, and let us know what you’re most excited to see in Batman: Arkham Knight.

Briefly: Following the much better second trailer from last month, and a cool poster from just a few weeks back, Marvel has just debuted another one sheet for July’s Ant-Man.

This one features our shrunken hero atop one of his insect pals dodging a series of bullets. I wonder how many times we’ll see that in the feature.

Take a look at the poster below, and let us know what you hope to see when Ant-Man hits theatres on July 17th!

Antman

Briefly: I know what I’m getting Shane O’Hare for Christmas.

Zenescope Entertainment’s Grimm Fairy Tales is one of the industry’s longest running indie comics series. The universe spans five realms with over 200 characters and encompasses numerous spin-off series such as Van Helsing, Wonderland, Neverland, Inferno, OZ, and Robyn Hood – each featuring a mix of iconic heroines and villians.

Now, through Zenescope’s partnership with renowned action figure manufacturer Phicen Ltd., GFT’s legions of fans will be able bring home collectible versions of their favorite characters in the most realistic and lifelike way imaginable. Each 1:6 scale figure will be made with Phicen’s seamless body and stainless steel skeleton and will be hand-crafted in the character’s signature outfit as well as packaged with an armament of her signature weapons. Each standout piece is being produced by Executive Replicas, marking the first releases in the collaboration between the three companies.

This July, the first action figure will be released under the deal – Liesel Van Helsing. The daughter of the famed vampire slayer has never looked so good or lifelike as she comes dressed in her signature outfit of fishnets and trenchcoat with steampunk accents for optimum hunting. Ready to drive a stake into every black vampire heart, the figure offers a multitude of poses and comes packaged with her signature weapons.

The figures will retail for a cool $159.99US, and are currently available for pre-order here! You can take a look at the first images of the figure below!

Briefly: I have never been so excited to replay an old game, but I’m even more excited to play its 20-year-old-but-never-released-until-now sequel.

Yep, just as we mentioned extensively on Geekscape Games last month (you are listening to Geekscape’s all gaming sister podcast, aren’t you?), Chip’s Challenge and Chip’s Challenge 2 are about to hit Steam.

Both titles will launch this Thursday, and Chip’s Challenge 2 will even feature a level editor as DLC.

I haven’t touched Chip’s Challenge since I was a child, but I’m really excited to give the game another go and see if I’m any better at hard-as-hell puzzle titles now that I’m an adult. Seriously, from what I remember, the game quickly becomes an infuriatingly tough experience, and as I’ve played more than a few puzzle games since my Chip‘s days, I think I may be able to do it (but I’m probably terribly, terribly wrong).

In any case, take a look at a Chip’s Challenge 2 trailer below, and let us know what you’ll be playing on Thursday.

Capcom today officially unveiled a remastered edition of Resident Evil 0, which is slated to hit PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in early 2016.

Being a survival horror fan who missed out Resident Evil up to this point (and also a gamer who thoroughly enjoyed the remaster of Resident Evil), I’m pretty excited to see where the series chronologically began.

Details on the game are pretty scarce at this point, but it is known that original Resident Evil 0 Director Koji Oda and additional staff are returning for the development of this new remastered version. Capcom will be sharing more information on the title in the coming weeks.

You can watch the announcement video below (make sure you turn on subtitles), and be sure to let us know if you’re looking forward to playing this one!

Briefly: This looks incredibly original, and I sure hope that it receives the funding that it’s looking for.

We’ve seen some pretty incredible gaming successes on Kickstarter over the past month. Yooka-Laylee surpassed each and every one of its stretch goals in under 24 hours, and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night flew beyond its goal in just a day.

Perception, an insanely original premise by a new studio (which contains a ton of ex-Irrational Games devs) called The Deep End Games just hit Kickstarter, and while it hasn’t yet received the same success as the previously mentioned titles, in less than a day its reached over $30,000 of its $150,000 goal.

Perception is a first-person narrative horror adventure that tells the story of Cassie, a blind heroine who uses her extraordinary hearing and razor-sharp wits to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned estate that haunts her dreams. The gameplay has Cassie using echolocation to see, which amounts to some extremely original mechanics, and potential for some absolutely gut-wrenching scares.

As always, there are some incredible rewards available for backers, but I’m mostly excited for the potential of this insanely ambitious looking game. Plus, it’s a horror title, and we all know that I’m a sucker for those.

Take a look at the campaign trailer for Perception below, and let us know if you’ll be backing the project. Be sure to visit the campaign page for all the info about the title.

Briefly: Gamers everywhere have been pretty upset (understatement) at Konami over the what-are-they-thinking cancellation of the Hideo Kojima, Guillermo Del Toro, and Norman Reedus collaboration, Silent Hills.

The Silent Hill series has been my absolutely favourite franchise since 1998, when 8 year-old me didn’t sleep for nearly a week after playing the first game. I watched the series grow to become the award winning undisputed king of survival horror, and then fall to mediocrity before finally becoming laughable.

Then, last Summer with the launch of P.T., fans of the series once again had hope. This was going to be the resurrection that the series, and genre, needed. Then Konami took it away.

YouTuber Super Bunnyhop has just released a detailed eulogy for the property, which does a great job of lamenting just what was special about P.T., and what it could have done for the series. Whether you were a fan of the game or are just now wondering what all of this P.T. chatter is all about, it’s well, well worth the watch.

Briefly: Now that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro’s Silent Hills has been cancelled, I don’t really want to be a gamer any more.

Sure, I’m slightly exaggerating, but if I wasn’t, I would at least wait for Batman: Arkham Knight to finally hit the PS4 and Xbox One before throwing my consoles up on eBay. Seriously, this game looks magical.

A new live action trailer titled ‘Be the Batman’ has just hit the web, encouraging all of us to show off many of the qualities that Bats does. We’ve been waiting for this one for what seems like forever now, and really, June 23rd can’t come soon enough. The M-rated Batman: Arkham Knight is set to launch for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you’re most looking forward to in the title!

Briefly: If you’re playing Telltale’s adaptation of Game of Thrones (and if you’re a fan of the series or books, you definitely should be), you’ll be happy to know that the developer has just released a new for the game’s next episode, and that you’ll be able to play it VERY soon.

The episode is titled “Sons of Winter”, and it will debut on PC, Mac, PS3, and PS4 on May 26th, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on May 27th, and iOS and Android devices on May 28th.

The game “tells the story of House Forrester. Caught up in the events of The War of the Five Kings, they are placed in a precarious position where members of the household must do everything they can to prevent the house from meeting its doom.”

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know if you’re enjoying the game so far!
