Briefly: It’s not often that I get to pick up a game at retail. Working (over) full time leaves me little time for gaming, and I’ve all but replaced my habit of buying games that I’ll never play with buying Amiibo that I’ll never use. It’s (arguably) more expensive, but at least they’re holding their value at this point instead of depreciating faster than a new car.

Yep, that's my wall.
Yep, that’s my wall.

Today, I picked up CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3. Somehow, the game (series) has slipped under my radar for all these years; It wasn’t until reading the universal praise of the latest game (including Gamespot awarding it the 9th perfect score that the publication has ever given), that I finally started looking into it. The game looks incredible, and though I’m unsure just when I’ll have an opportunity to really delve into it, I simply had to support the company.

When I unwrapped The Witcher 3‘s physical package (the standard edition by the way), I was greeted with a more comprehensive amount of content than most special editions include. It was so noteworthy, in fact, that I had to write about it.

See, most games today come with nothing. Reversible covers are cool but rare, physical manuals are all but nonexistent, and if you’re lucky you’ll get a single piece of paper advertising some inevitable map pack or DLC. The lack of manuals or any additional content has made the switch to digital more and more attractive over the years, but the fact that I often play my games once and then trade them in has been the only thing keeping me buying physical copies. I’m so, so happy that I purchased The Witcher 3 physically however, as this is what it came with:

IMG_1771

IMG_1772

That’s a lot of extra content, for a game that takes 100+ hours to complete, for the exact same price as every other new game that releases.

The first thing you’ll notice when you open the package? The heartfelt ‘Thank you’ note that makes you want to give these guys all of your money:

Thanks

In case it’s tough to see from the photos above, The Witcher 3 also includes a map of the Northern Realms, a cardboard sleeve, a soundtrack CD, and The Witcher Universe Compendium (containing a ton of useful info on the characters and previous events, AKA a physical manual). Inside the compendium you’ll also find a download code for the first issue of Dark Horse Comics’ The Witcher: House of Glass comic book, and a code for a new hero in The Witcher Battle Arena mobile game.

Again, this was all from the regular edition of the game. I’m still having a hard time believing it.

Have you picked up The Witcher 3 yet? What do you think of the game so far?

Briefly: I’m still crying myself to sleep every night over Konami’s cancellation of Silent Hills, and today the fine folks over at Mega64 took to ridiculing the publisher over the decision (and their other weird choices as of late), and at the same time remind me just how phenomenal P.T. was.

The skit is pretty hilarious, and at the same time, it mostly just made me sad. If you were looking forward to Silent Hills as much as I was, you may want to have a box of tissues handy, as this one may make you laugh so hard that you cry, but will definitely remember at just how sad a time it is to be a gamer.

P.T., we hardly knew ye.

Briefly: Following the season’s first trailer from earlier this month, FX has revealed just when we’ll be able to jump back into the world of The Strain.

Season two will debut on Sunday, July 12 (which also happens to be the final day of this year’s SDCC). I was a big fan of last year’s The Strain, once the first few (kind of boring) episodes passed and the series really began to ramp up. That being said, I’m more than excited for the second season to finally premiere.

As the second season unfolds, the transformation has begun. It can no longer be denied — New York City is rapidly falling to an evil epidemic, and no one is coming to its rescue. Its citizens must fight or die. Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and his unlikely allies tried to take down the embodiment of this evil — the Master — and failed. Now Eph and Dr. Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) concentrate on creating a biological weapon to wipe out the creatures, while Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) searches for an ancient book he hopes will reveal the strigoi’s entire history…and possibly a way to kill them. Meanwhile, the Master is out for revenge, unleashing new and even more terrifying breeds of bloodthirsty creatures after our team. Our team must find a way to defeat him before the infection spreads too far and becomes irreparable … before they become monsters themselves.

Briefly: A new trailer is set to debut tomorrow, but Legendary pictures has just debuted a fantastic new motion poster for Crimson Peak.

We’ll never get to see Del Toro’s touch on Silent Hills, but Crimson Peak looks freaking incredible. I had the fantastic opportunity to meet with Del Toro at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, as well as see a few props and pieces of the set. It’s safe to say that Crimson Peak has been one of my most anticipated films since that day.

You can take a look at the motion poster below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Crimson Peak hits theatres on October 16th, 2015!

Check out the new motion poster for #CrimsonPeak, and look for the new trailer tomorrow!

Briefly: Following the actually-kinda-cool trailer from a few weeks back, Paramount has just debuted five new character posters for Alan Taylor’s Terminator Genisys.

The images feature Sarah Conner, John Connor (in all his spoiler-filled glory), Kyle Reese, and the T-800 and T-1000.

It can’t be worse than Terminator: Salvation, can it? It looks really heavy on the homage, but it could still be fun, right? I don’t dig the whole John Connor is a Terminator thing, and Sarah Connor looks entirely too smiley in her poster, but I do have to say that I’m still looking forward to seeing what the full feature has to offer.

Take a look at the posters below, and let us know what you think! Terminator Genisys hits theatres on July 1st!

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

Briefly: AMC’s The Walking Dead spinoff, Fear The Walking Dead is now in production (and it better be, as it’s set to debut this Summer), and AMC has officially shared the series’ first behind-the-scenes video.

The video features creator Robert Kirkman and producers Greg Nicotero and Gale Anne Hurd talking about the completely different nature of this series, and how they envisioned it being completely standalone while fitting in the universe that we already know and love.

It’s short and sweet, but in any case, it’s pretty interesting. Take a look at the video below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the premiere!

Briefly: I wasn’t overly sold on the idea of a Minority Report television series, but Fox has just debuted the first trailer for the show, and it actually looks cooler than I’d expect.

Based on the international blockbuster film by executive producer Steven Spielberg and the first of his films to be adapted for television, Minority Report follows the unlikely partnership between a man haunted by the future and a cop haunted by her past, as they race to stop the worst crimes of the year 2065 before they happen.

Set in Washington, D.C., it is 10 years after the demise of Precrime, a law enforcement agency tasked with identifying and eliminating criminals…before their crimes were committed. To carry out this brand of justice, the agency used three precogs – “precognitives” Dash, Arthur and Agatha – who were able to see the future. Now, in 2065, crime-solving is different, and justice leans more on sophisticated and trusted technology than on the instincts of the precogs.

Precog DASH (Stark Sands, “Inside Llewyn Davis”) – driven by his terrifying, but fragmented visions – now has returned in secret to help a brash, but shrewd, police detective, Lara Vega (Meagan Good, “Think Like A Man” franchise, “Californication”), attempt to stop the murders that he predicts.

As they navigate this future America, they will search for Dash’s missing twin brother, ARTHUR, and elude others who will stop at nothing to exploit their precog abilities. Also complicating matters is Dash and Arthur’s ingenious, but reclusive, foster sister, AGATHA (Laura Regan, “Mad Men,” “Unbreakable”), who just wants Dash to return home.

A drama of crime and conspiracy, this is a timeless story of connection: two lost souls, Dash and vega, who find friendship, purpose and redemption in each other.

I’m a big fan of DC’s Digital Firsts lineup of comics. Instead of having to wait a month to grab a new issue of some of my favourite books, I get a bite-sized chunk of each on my iPad each and every week. The way that the publisher staggers the content (new books in different series each day of the week) is also awesome; I have a beyond-busy schedule, but I can likely spare a few minutes for reading each day.

One of my favourite titles in the Digital Firsts line (aside from the always great Injustice: Gods Among Us) is Vertigo’s Fables: The Wolf Among Us. Last year’s Telltale Games title The Wolf Among Us actually introduced me to the world of Fables (somehow I missed out until that point) and I’ve been hooked ever since. The comic version of Fables: The Wolf Among Us acts as an official adaptation and expansion of the events that we saw in season one of the fabulous game (which is available on everything, so you should definitely play it).

As much as I love the Digital Firsts line, I also love collecting physical comics. DC seems to understand this pretty well, as they thankfully do publish hard copies of their Digital Firsts titles once enough digital issues have been released. This Wednesday (5/13), the publisher will release Fables: The Wolf Among Us #5 in comic book stores everywhere, and I couldn’t be more excited to pick up my copy.

We’ve got a batch of preview pages for the upcoming issue, so definitely take a gander at those below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see in season two of the game, and next in the comic!

Briefly: We’re just over a month away from the holy-crap-I-can’t-wait-for-it return of HBO’s True Detective, and following the second season’s first trailer from a few weeks back, the network has debuted new character posters for the upcoming episodes.

They all share the tagline “We get the world we deserve”, and fit in with the theme of the season, which series creator Nic Pizzolatto stated was about “hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system.”

This season, “A bizarre murder brings together three law-enforcement officers and a career criminal, each of whom must navigate a web of conspiracy and betrayal in the scorched landscapes of California. Colin Farrell is Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective in the all-industrial City of Vinci, LA County. Vince Vaughn plays Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his life’s work, while his wife and closest ally (Kelly Reilly), struggles with his choices and her own. Rachel McAdams is Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff’s detective often at odds with the system she serves, while Taylor Kitsch plays Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle cop for the California Highway Patrol who discovers a crime scene which triggers an investigation involving three law enforcement groups, multiple criminal collusions, and billions of dollars.”

Briefly: It’s pretty clear if you’ve seen our co-produced Doc of the Dead that here at Geekscape we’re pretty big fans of the undead. Saying that, we were more than excited to learn that this Double Take is expanding their Night of the Living Dead universe with a batch of new books.

The first three series in the universe were announced back in March, and today the publisher has announced seven new titles, along with a pretty cool Kickstarter campaign.

The first issue if all ten series will launch on September 16th, at the cool cost of $3.50 a piece (or $20-$25 for the super-pack containing each book), but backing the Kickstarter will get you the super-pack for just $10. It’s really a n0-brainer… get it?

Superpack

As Double Take notes, “Our first 10 stories start in the world established by the 1968 cult classic Night of the Living Dead, then we let our imaginations…and our zombies…run wild. ” The cover art for each book (as well as a description) have been revealed, and all of them sound pretty cool. You can take a look at the previously announced books here, and head below for a look at the newly announced titles.

Briefly: Those of you at this year’s Wizard World Philadelphia, you’re in for a treat. First of all, the official Wizard World after party is also the Zenescope 10th anniversary party, and in addition, the first 100 people to come to the Zenescope booth (#501) will receive a FREE limited edition Aliens vs. Zombies art print with artist David Seidman (Charmed) on hand to sign.

Aliens vs. Zombies is an all-new five issue miniseries that’s set to launch this July. The book was created and written by company co-founders Joe Brusha & Ralph Tedesco, and is a blend of science fiction, horror, and action with moments of levity and tongue-in-cheek humor, the action-packed genre mashup features art from Vincenzo Riccardi (Wonderland).

The official series synopsis reads that “When a meteor carrying the Zombie virus hits Earth it triggers the potential end of mankind. The last chance for humanity is a spacecraft full of Alien scientists tasked with tracking and eliminating the interstellar virus; one that has wiped out many other planets and lifeforms. What will happen when humans must team with aliens to survive the zombie apocalypse? Find out in Aliens Versus Zombies!”

You can take a look at the key art for the series below, and be sure to grab that print if you’re lucky enough to be at Wizard World!

Briefly: Now that I’ve finished The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Daredevil (and listened to Jonathan and Ian Kerner go in-depth on the series), I’m about ready for another Netflix original.

We knew it was coming, but the Wachowski’s Sense8 has been officially revealed with a neat first trailer. In the series, “One moment links 8 minds in disparate parts of the world, putting 8 strangers in each other’s lives, each other’s secrets, and in terrible danger.”

Sense8 features a rather expansive cast consisting of Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Jamie Clayton, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Tina Desai, Doona Bae, Aml Ameen and Max Riemelt. Also, Daryl Hannah, Naveen Andrews, Terrence Mann, Freema Agyeman, Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, Adam Shapiro, Ness Bautista and Joe Pantoliano, among others.

All 12 episodes will launch on June 12, and I can’t wait to see what the series has to offer. Take a look at the first trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Following the long-rumoured addition of Dominic Cooper just a few weeks back, the cast of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldber’s Preacher adaptation has grown yet again.

This time, The Killing‘s Jamie Anne Allmand and Rectify‘s Derek Wilson have boarded the project in recurring roles.

Allman will portray Betsy Schenck, “a meek wife who appears to suffer beatings by the hand of her husband, Donny. When the Preacher checks up on her, though, she tells a different story.” Wilson will play her husband Donny Schenck, “a Civil War re-enactor and abusive thug who gets into altercations with Jesse Custer (the Preacher) but nevertheless shows up to church on Sundays.”

Preacher was one of the first comic book series that I read through in its entirety, and as such, I’m more than looking forward to the adaptation. Allmand and Wilson join Elizabeth Perkins as Vyla QuinncannonDominic Cooper as Jesse CusterRuth Negga as Tulip O’hareLucy Griffiths as a new character named Emily Woodrow, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy and Ian Colette as Arseface.

Briefly: We’re still without a premiere date, but the first trailer for The Strain’s highly anticipated second season has just hit the web, along with a brand new poster via Entertainment Weekly.

Briefly: What a way to kick off May 4th.

Vanity Fair‘s Annie Leibovitz has just debuted a series of exclusive photos of the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Among the images are our first looks at Adam Driver‘s evil Kylo Ren, and Lupita Nyong’o’s motion-tracking gear for her character, Maz Kanata.

Chewie himself, Peter Mayhew has also taken to Twitter to reveal the identity of Game of Thrones‘ star Gwendolyn Christie’s character. She’ll be portraying Captian Phasma in the film. You know, that bad-ass chrome Stormtrooper we saw way back when.

You can take a look at the images below. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments below, and don’t forget to re-watch the phenomenal trailer from a few weeks back.

I know I don’t even need to ask if you’re excited. This looks so freaking good.

Briefly: I just arrived home from my Avengers: Age of Ultron screening, and what better way to wrap up that busy and action-packed flick than to listen to one of it’s heroes sing about all of the powers he has.

You don’t get to see all of Hawkeyes abilities onscreen (and it’s clear from the tune that he has a lot of them), but he does get the best line in the film (in my opinion).

This one’s set to the tune of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, and it’s freaking wonderful.

https://youtu.be/aQ27iS1mkuo

Have you already caught Age of Ultron? What did you think?

Briefly: I’m still not overly familiar with the Mad Max series, but this insanely cool final trailer for the upcoming Fury Road is making me rethink my entire life.

The film features an entirely new cast, and though the last Mad Max film came five years before I was born in 1985, Fury Road will not act as a complete reboot, and will instead be set following the events of 1981’s Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.

In the film, “Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.”

This trailer is gorgeous, action packed, and it instantly excited even a Mad Max virgin like myself. Take a look at the video below, and be sure to let us know if you’re excited for this one. Mad Max: Fury Road hits theatres on May 15th!

Briefly: This sounds completely ridiculous, but it also looks a little bit bad-ass. I didn’t know that The Last Witch Hunter existed until today, but it’s definitely on my radar now.

In the film, “The modern world holds many secrets, but the most astounding secret of all is that witches still live amongst us; vicious supernatural creatures intent on unleashing the Black Death upon the world. Armies of witch hunters battled the unnatural enemy across the globe for centuries, including KAULDER, a valiant warrior who managed to slay the all-powerful QUEEN WITCH, decimating her followers in the process. In the moments right before her death, the QUEEN curses KAULDER with her own immortality, forever separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Today KAULDER is the only one of his kind remaining, and has spent centuries hunting down rogue witches, all the while yearning for his long-lost loved ones. However, unbeknownst to KAULDER, the QUEEN WITCH is resurrected and seeks revenge on her killer causing an epic battle that will determine the survival of the human race.”

Yeah it sounds silly, but Vin looks so damned cool. Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Last Witch Hunter hits theatres on October 23rd!

Briefly: I was a huge fan of Oren Peli’s Paranormal Activity. I saw it as an extremely original film in a sea of (at the time) terrible horror, and though it spawned a few less-than-stellar sequels (and a couple of great ones), it’s still a franchise that I’m very interested in.

Shortly after completing Paranormal Activity, Peli directed another found footage film titled Area 51. Production of the film officially began in 2009, there were reshoots in 2013, and we’ve heard almost nothing of the picture since.

Now, six years later, Oren Peli’s Paranormal Activity follow-up is just a few weeks away. The film will hit Alamo Drafthouse theatres from May 15-17, and finally be available for our viewing pleasure on May 15th.

You can check out the trailer for the film below, and be sure to let us know if you’re as excited for this one as I am!

Briefly: We’ve known for months now that Rush star Daniel Bruhl would be featured in next year’s Captain America: Civil War, and Bruhl has finally confirmed just who he’ll be playing in the anticipated sequel.

Bruhl was asked about his role in a lengthy interview with The Independent. He revealed that he is indeed portraying Baron Zemo, stating that “I think I can tell you that without being thrown into Marvel prison. For the first few days I’ll walk around like a little boy, just amazed by the megalomania of it. It’s such a huge project. We could do 20 films with the budget.”

Along with Zemo, Frank Grillo’s Crossbones is set to return as a villain in the film, and after his fantastic role in The Winter Soldier, I really can’t wait to see Grillo back in action?

Are you looking forward to seeing Zemo in Civil War? Do you think that Bruhl is right for the role? Sound out below!

Bruhl

Briefly: Last month we learned that Stephen Amell would mask up as Casey Jones in next year’s fast-tracked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, and today a new cast member was revealed for the project.

Variety has learned that The Wolverine‘s Brian Tee has joined the project as Shredder. The character was played by Tohoru Masamune in the 2014 reimagining. We had Brian on the show back in 2013, and we’re definitely excited to see what he can do for the beloved villain.

Details on the film are still few (it was first announced back in August), but both Megan Fox and Will Arnett are set to return, while Earth to Echo director Dave Green will take the reigns from Jonathan Liebesman.

I have to say that, while I was definitely not looking forward to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles last year, the film turned out to be a fun, yet forgettable time. It was almost, almost worth it for the cowabunga alone, don’t you agree?

Are you looking forward to the sequel? What did you think of the first film? Sound out below! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 hits theatres on June 3rd, 2016!

Briefly: Now that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro’s Silent Hills has been cancelled, I don’t really want to be a gamer any more.

Sure, I’m slightly exaggerating, but if I wasn’t, I would at least wait for Batman: Arkham Knight to finally hit the PS4 and Xbox One before throwing my consoles up on eBay. Seriously, this game looks magical.

A new trailer for the game has just hit the web, reminding us (again) just how freaking gorgeous Arkham Knight looks, and also showing off the title’s “new “Dual Play” feature in action, which will allow players to seamlessly switch between The Dark Knight and his allies including Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman in FreeFlow Combat.”

We’ve been waiting for this one for what seems like forever now, and really, June 23rd can’t come soon enough. The M-rated Batman: Arkham Knight is set to launch for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Let us know what you’re most looking forward to in the title!

Briefly: Dang.

Two films that I was really looking forward to have just received delays. Sure, they’re small delays, but delays nonetheless.

Warcraft, which was initially slated for March 2016, has received a new date of June 10th 2016. This puts it into the busy Summer movie season (showing confidence for the film, right?), and also pushes it away from the sure-to-be-a-blockbuster Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Pacific Rim 2 was originally set to release in April of 2017, and will also get a push to the Summer, hitting theatres on August 4th, 2017.

At least each push is only a few months, right? Are one are you most looking forward to? Sound out below!

Briefly: Following the final trailer from just a few days back, Universal has just debuted a new clip for June’s Jurassic World.

The clip shows our sexy hero (Chris Pratt of course) running from an extremely CG dinosaur. The clip is fairly cool, but really makes me miss the animatronic days of the first two films.

You can take a look at the clip below, and let us know what you’ve thought of the film’s marketing thus far! Jurassic World hits theatres on June 12th!

Briefly: Well this is cool. It seems like California gets all of the best Comic Conventions.

This one is put together by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and his pal Stan Lee helped him announce it:

The convention aims to “celebrates the Age of the Geek by bringing together America’s two greatest superheroes: pop culture and technology.”

Here’s the announcement message from Woz:

Hi Everyone,

I’m excited to be launching Silicon Valley Comic Con today! I’m traveling and speaking so I can’t take lots of calls, so I wanted to post this memo for you.

I’m teaming up with friends to make this happen because I want to give Silicon Valley it’s very own kind of Comic Con where everyone can have fun enjoying what they love. Today we’re lucky to have so many kinds of entertainment, from movies, TV shows, web series, music, video games, social media and more, and the lines between entertainment and the technology we love so much in Silicon Valley are getting blurrier every day. We’re going to create a place where all these different kinds of interests can come together, and we can come together too.

There are lots of fans like me in San Francisco and the Valley, and I’m excited that now we’ll have a Comic Con with our very own flavor. When I was growing up, it was hard to be a geek. It definitely wasn’t cool, and that wasn’t easy. I’m happy things have changed because now people are able to be proud of being geeks and being different. Silicon Valley Comic Con will be an event where fans of all kinds can celebrate the Age of the Geek.

I’m going to be working with lots of great people to make this happen. I hope you watch the video my friend Stan Lee and I had fun making together, and I’ll be making more along the way. I’ve also got entertainment industry veteran John Alcantar on board to help us create our very own kind of Comic Con for Silicon Valley in 2016. John will help us pull the team together, and we’ll even be looking for help from volunteers to help create an event we can all be proud of. Stay tuned for more!

I hope I’ll see you in San Jose next year March 19-20. It’s going to be amazing!

Will you be attending?

Briefly: This looks so freaking good.

Somehow (despite being a huge fan of 28 Days Later, Sunshine, AND Dredd) Alex Garland’s directorial debut, Ex Machina somehow slipped under my radar until I saw a few post-SXSW reviews. A new trailer for the film has just hit the web, and wow, wow, wow, does this look good.

Did it slip you by too? Here’s the synopsis:

Caleb Smith (Domhnall Gleeson), a programmer at an internet-search giant, wins a competition to spend a week at the private mountain estate of the company’s brilliant and reclusive CEO, Nathan Bateman (Oscar Isaac). Upon his arrival, Caleb learns that Nathan has chosen him to be the human component in a Turing Test—charging him with evaluating the capabilities, and ultimately the consciousness, of Nathan’s latest experiment in artificial intelligence. That experiment is Ava (Alicia Vikander), a breathtaking A.I. whose emotional intelligence proves more sophisticated––and more deceptive––than the two men could have imagined.

Sounds pretty neat, right? Now check out the new trailer.

I cannot wait for Ex Machina to hit Canadian theatres. Already see it? What were your thoughts?

Briefly: A few days back we saw a nice, early look at the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer. The trailer detailed the controversy regarding the Man of Steel’s existence, and… well, and unhappy Batman with a bad-ass suit asking Supes if he bleeds.

Today, Honest Trailers took on the teaser, and it was too good not to share.

So, where do you stand on Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice?

Weeds

Briefly: All the way back in January of 2013, we featured a very intriguing Kickstarter project by our pal Jon Schnepp.

If you were a comic book fan, and more than a few years old in the mid-to-late 1990′s, you probably remember hearing about a little film called Superman Lives. The feature was set to be directed by (then arguably at his most popular) Tim Burton, written by Kevin Smith, and star Nicolas Cage.

Production got to the point where filming was about to begin… and then it was gone. There have been plenty of different stories as to why, but in all honesty, nobody really knows.

Sure, it would have been weird (have you seen the leaked costume test), but that’s not to say it wouldn’t have been good. So what happened?

That’s what Jon Schnepp wanted to find out. The Kickstarter was an absolute sensation, and would eventually earn $115,110 of its $98,000 goal.

It’s been a long journey (and more than a lot of work for Schnepp and crew), but the film is finally almost here. The Death Of “Superman Lives”; What Happened? will screen at the Egyptian theatre in Los Angeles on May 1st and 2nd (grab tickets from Fandango).

The final poster for the film hit the web just a few days back, and Schnepp has just debuted the final trailer for the intriguing-as-hell documentary. I really, really can’t wait to see it.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited for the feature!
