Briefly: Netflix has just renewed J Michael Straczynski and the Wachowski’s divisive Sense8 for another season!

The renewal was revealed this morning via the following video on the official Netflix twitter page:

In speaking to Variety about a potential renewal last month, series creator J Michael Straczynski noted that “The way that the Wachowskis and I tend to work — we created the show together and we are running the show together — we are long-thinking people. We look down the road and we say to ourselves, ‘Where is this going to go?’ … Season one is like an origin story and season two has some particular arc, and we figure it out from there. But to spoil that here would not be the best interest of the surprise at the end.”

Sense8 features a rather expansive cast consisting of Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Jamie Clayton, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Tina Desai, Doona Bae, Aml Ameen and Max Riemelt. Also, Daryl Hannah, Naveen Andrews, Terrence Mann, Freema Agyeman, Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, Adam Shapiro, Ness Bautista and Joe Pantoliano, among others.

All 12 episodes launched back in June, and while I haven’t had an opportunity to watch the series just yet, I’m looking forward to checking out the divisive original.

Briefly: Now that I’ve finished The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Daredevil (and listened to Jonathan and Ian Kerner go in-depth on the series), I’m about ready for another Netflix original.

We knew it was coming, but the Wachowski’s Sense8 has been officially revealed with a neat first trailer. In the series, “One moment links 8 minds in disparate parts of the world, putting 8 strangers in each other’s lives, each other’s secrets, and in terrible danger.”
