Briefly: I’m still having fun driving Tim Burton’s Batmobile around in Batman: Arkham Knight, and now Rocksteady has gone and dropped a ton of new DLC on us, just in time for the holidays!

The game’s latest expansion, ‘Season of Infamy: Most Wanted’ is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (yes, the PC version is available again), Season Pass holders right now, and it’s also available to purchase separately. The expansion actually sounds fairly substantial (especially in comparison to some of Arkham Knight‘s other DLC), so if you’re at or nearing full completion with the title, this latest update should definitely give you a reason to pick the title up again.

In the expansion, you’ll fight back against The Dark Knight’s biggest foes in four separate missions, with all new story arcs featuring DC Comics characters The Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, Ra’s Al Ghul and Mr. Freeze. Here are a few details on each mission:

-Wonderland: The Mad Hatter makes things personal as the Super-Villain lures Batman into a demented, hallucinatory battle of wits across Gotham City and within the pages of a twisted story book.

-Beneath The Surface: The World’s Greatest Detective and Nightwing venture out to investigate Iron Heights, a flying airship prison that housed Killer Croc, after it crashed in the waters surrounding Gotham City.

-Shadow War: Picking up after the events of Batman: Arkham City, Batman’s devout moral code is pushed to its limits as Ra’s Al Ghul’s health rebounds with the help of the League of Assassins.

-In From The Cold: Mr. Freeze returns to Gotham City, where he is immediately entrapped in Arkham Knight’s Militia and Scarecrow’s plan to destroy Batman. Arkham Knight’s Militia has kidnapped Nora and will return her to Mr. Freeze in exchange for Batman’s capture.

A myriad of other content and skins are also available now (including some free updates)! Here’s the rest of Arkham Knight‘s December content:

-Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #5: Combat and invisible predator maps featuring Batman, the Batmobile, Nightwing, Azrael,

-2008 Movie Batman Skin: Patrol the streets of Gotham City with this Batsuit inspired by the 2008 movie “The Dark Knight”.

-Original Arkham Batmobile: Seize control from Gotham City’s most notorious villains with the original Arkham Asylum Batmobile.

-Rocksteady Themed Batmobile Skin: Customize the legendary Batmobile with this unique Rocksteady themed skin.

-Batman: Noel Skin: Face your foes with this reinforced leather suit from the Batman: Noel comic (previously a DC Comics exclusive).

Free Updates:

-Batsuit v8.05 – Prestige Edition: Players can access this suit after reaching 240% game completion.

-Classic Harley Quinn Skin: Players who own the Harley Quinn Story Pack or Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #5 can select this Harley Skin, which can be used in the Harley Story Pack or in AR Challenges, from the character showcase.

-Arkham Knight Skin: Players who own the Red Hood Story Pack can select this skin from the character showcase for Red Hood, allowing them to look like the Arkham Knight in the Red Hood Story Pack and AR Challenges.

Of course, reading all of that isn’t nearly as fun as watching it all in action, so take a look at the trailer below! Again, all of this content is available right now!

Are you planning to pick up ‘Season of Infamy: Most Wanted’? As negative as my Geekscape Games coworkers have been about Arkham Knight throughout the year, I’ve been having an absolute blast with what I’ve played from the title! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

According to internal emails from EB Games Australia, Warner Bros. doesn’t plan on putting the PC edition of Batman: Arkham Knight back on sale until the fall. This also coincides with any perceived hot fixes from Warner.

As previously advised,we have stopped sales of Batman: Arkham Knight PC while Warner and Rocksteady work on addressing performance issues with the game. The latest information from Warner is that the updates won’t be available until Spring. Due to this we have made the difficult decision to recall all PC stock from stores to return to the vendor until an acceptable solution is released.

Spring refers to Australian Spring, so don’t get overly excited that the game isn’t going to be seen again until 2016. According to Kotaku, the timeframe for a re-release is so far out that EB Games has felt the need to return all stock of the PC edition to Warner.

This whole debacle has been very out of character for both Warner and Rocksteady. It really shows that this game was created for the consoles, most likely the PS4, and hastily ported to the PC.

The problems don’t affect every installation of the game, in fact the numbers of affected users are fairly low.

We will be sure to update you as more information is released.

Briefly: Batman: Arkham Knight just got even cooler.

At Sony’s just-concluded E3 press conference, the company showed off some PS4 exclusive gameplay for next month’s anticipated title.

The footage has you playing as Commissioner Gordon, and it’s decidedly creepier than we’ve seen in past Arkham games. Take a look at the footage below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: This game seriously can’t come soon enough.

Rocksteady has just released seven minutes of gameplay footage from next month’s Batman: Arkham Knight, captured directly from the PS4 version of the game.

If you haven’t realized it from the numerous other trailers and previews, this game is insanely gorgeous, and incredibly smooth looking. Watching Bats fly around in this video is some of the most exciting open world travel I’ve seen in some time.

The video shows Batman meeting up with a familiar face before doing some destruction in the Batmobile. From all of the footage we’ve seen thus far, it looks like we’ll be spending quite a bit of time traversing terrain in the vehicle, and I couldn’t be more excited to try it out.

Take a look at the footage below, and let us know what you’re most excited to see in Batman: Arkham Knight.

Briefly: Now that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro’s Silent Hills has been cancelled, I don’t really want to be a gamer any more.

Sure, I’m slightly exaggerating, but if I wasn’t, I would at least wait for Batman: Arkham Knight to finally hit the PS4 and Xbox One before throwing my consoles up on eBay. Seriously, this game looks magical.

A new live action trailer titled ‘Be the Batman’ has just hit the web, encouraging all of us to show off many of the qualities that Bats does. We’ve been waiting for this one for what seems like forever now, and really, June 23rd can’t come soon enough. The M-rated Batman: Arkham Knight is set to launch for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you’re most looking forward to in the title!

Barbara Gordon!

Since last week, news about the $40 Batman: Arkham Knight season pass has been making the rounds. First, the initial reveal sparked internet outrage when the high price tag came only with the promise of six months worth of content, without any details of what the content would be. When you consider how barebones the DLC has been in previous Arkham titles, it’s no wonder why gamers were expecting nothing but skins, half hearted challenge maps, and expanded story missions that clock in at an hour or two apiece out of that hefty price tag.

Before the controversy could reach a fevor pitch, WB Games outlined their DLC plans, which included most of what was mentioned above, (in addition to bonus Batmobile versions and tracks,) but the detail that caught most of our eyes was a prequel expansion starring Batgirl, who has been completely absent throught the series of games. Taking place in a brand new environment, knowing that it takes place prior to the games got our imaginations running. Aside from the vague nature of the announcement, it was made worse by the fact that the concept art used made Batgirl look brunette, making some believe that Cassandra Cain  would be the one to don the mask.

But if that was the case, why make it a prequel? Barbara Gordon, the character most synonymous with the Batgirl moniker, has been the wheelchair bound Oracle since the series started, so learning about how she became paralyzed in this universe is worth diving into.

Apparently, WB Games agrees.

Putting the question to rest, it was confirmed that Batgirl will indeed be Barbara Gordon. However, this reveal creates its own set of questions. Will it take place during The Killing Joke storyline? Will the story be any different in the game’s universe? And will The Joker, who is said will NOT make an appearance in the main game, play a role in this expansion?

We surely won’t have the answers for a few more months, but the idea of playing through one of the Bat family’s darkest moments as a new character is exciting. Is that enough of a reason to pick up the Season Pass for you? Sound off below!

original-1024x1024

Briefly: Now that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro’s Silent Hills has been cancelled, I don’t really want to be a gamer any more.

Sure, I’m slightly exaggerating, but if I wasn’t, I would at least wait for Batman: Arkham Knight to finally hit the PS4 and Xbox One before throwing my consoles up on eBay. Seriously, this game looks magical.

A new trailer for the game has just hit the web, reminding us (again) just how freaking gorgeous Arkham Knight looks, and also showing off the title’s “new “Dual Play” feature in action, which will allow players to seamlessly switch between The Dark Knight and his allies including Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman in FreeFlow Combat.”

We’ve been waiting for this one for what seems like forever now, and really, June 23rd can’t come soon enough. The M-rated Batman: Arkham Knight is set to launch for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Let us know what you’re most looking forward to in the title!

Here’s a way to start your Monday morning at your desk: The social media team behind Arkham Knight just dropped eight awesome minutes of an entire mission from Batman: Arkham Knight, to distract you from its new release date of June 23, 2015. Yup, it’s delayed.

But look! Batmobile! You like that, right?

Hey, small question: Who’s voicing Commissioner Gordon? It vaguely sounds like Lance Henriksen, but it’s not him. IMDB lists David Kaye as “rumored.”

Otherwise, holy crap. The combat system. It has never looked better. Every punch, smash, they ripple with impact.

Also, what a look at the Batmobile. This definitely debunks my presumption that the Batmobile was something you could summon at a moment’s notice. While that idea leaves an obvious design flaw, it’s good to now see it in action so my expectations aren’t unmet.

I also have to admit some comically absurd moments, like in the interrogation segment when a grunt tried to actually inject Batman with Scarecrow’s serum. Good luck with that, buddy.

Batman: Arkham Knight comes out June 23, 2015 and will basically be the only reason I buy a current-gen console.

Briefly: Just one day after the game received a surprising ‘M’ rating from the ESRB, Rocksteady has debuted a gorgeous new trailer for this Summer’s Batman: Arkham Knight.

The trailer “features a closer look at some of the story’s most infamous super-villains. As Scarecrow unites the Rogues Gallery, including Two-Face, The Penguin, the Riddler, the Arkham Knight, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, they bring all-out war as they try to take down The Dark Knight, and claim Gotham City as their own.”

Despite the game having the Arkham Knight in the title, this trailer sure shows off quite a lot of Scarecrow. It’ll be interesting to see how Arkham Knight presents himself as the true villain of the title (if that’s even the case).

In any case, take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know how excited you are for Batman: Arkham Knight to release on June 2nd! Remember that this one is current-gen only, so you’ll need a PS4 or Xbox One to experience it!

Briefly: With just a few months to go until Batman: Arkham Knight finally releases, the game has officially received its ESRB rating, and its one that may surprise you.

While Rocksteady’s Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Warner Bros. Interactive’s Arkham Origins all received T ratings, the upcoming Arkham Knight has officially received an M rating from the ratings board.

Arkham Knight game director Sefton Hill touched on the rating in a conversation with IGN, stating that  “From our point of view, we never wrote it or made it with a rating in mind. We never did that in the previous two games… We just felt that this is the story that we really wanted to tell.”

With all of the broken promises we’ve seen in video games over the past year (see Watch Dogs and The Order: 1886 for example), I love the fact that Rocksteady is unwilling to compromise the experience that they’re trying to deliver, from the game’s delay last year, and now this.

Hill continued, “I’m not blind to the fact that [the M rating] does mean some fans will miss out… I don’t want to be oblivious to that fact. It would have been wrong to water down the game and deliver a story we didn’t believe in to keep the game ‘mass market’ or enable it for more people. We feel that’s the wrong way to go about it. We said we love the story and we don’t want to jepoardize that.”

June 2nd can’t come soon enough. Batman: Arkham Knight is one of the few titles that I’ve felt confident enough to pre-order, which these days is sure saying something. Are you looking forward to this one?

I won’t argue with you the necessity of Batman utilizing heavy firepower in his vehicles to combat tanks and aircrafts. I get it, and it’s not like Batman hasn’t used guns before. But with the way most Batman fans rally behind the Dark Knight’s anti-firepower philosophy, it’s really off-putting seeing a version of Batman unleash more lead than a dozen Expendables movies all directed by John Woo.

But enough of that! You came to see Part 2 of the new “Ace Chemicals Infiltration” trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight, because even video game trailers get The Hobbit treatment!

Despite the snark (I can’t help it), this looks like a ton of fun. It’s a gameplay trailer and not pre-rendered, as in this is what the actual game looks like, sans all the fancy camera angles, slo-mo and editing. I still haven’t gotten any of the new-generation consoles, but when Batman: Arkham Knight is released next summer that will be rectified.

In this trailer Batman is going up against the Arkham Knight’s heavily armed militia and drone tanks. That’s a great wave-off to cause destruction, but don’t you think Batman’s foes would have figured out his unwillingness to kill can be used to their advantage?

Oh my God, I sound like a villain. Don’t tell the bat!

Briefly: Well this is a kick-ass trailer, and as disappointed as we were when Batman: Arkham Knight was pushed far into 2015, we’re more than happy with the way it looks to be turning out.

Today’s trailer is called the “Ace Chemicals Infiltration Trailer: Part 1”, and shows Bats saving workers from an infiltrated chemical plant. We also see some amazingly bad-ass usage of the Batmobile, as well as… You know what, just watch the trailer, but only if you feel like immediately pre-ordering the title.

Take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think! Batman: Arkham Knight hits PS4 and Xbox One on June 2nd, 2015!

The next installment of the popular Batman: Arkham series has just announced the release date of Batman: Arkham Knight: June 2, 2015! So, you’ve got awhile.

The release date is not the only announcement, however. As one would expect in the landscape of the modern gaming industry, there will be two — yes, TWO! — collector’s editions: The Limited Edition and the Batmobile Edition. Being one of the newest and shiniest features in Arkham Knight, of course there would be merchandise tie-ins.

So, not a lot of difference between the two packs except said Batmobile figure. And the $100 difference. So expect a few artsy and not-so-artsy pictures of the thing on your Instagram feed next year. I think the Hefe or Willow will work best. I still have yet to purchase any of the new-generation consoles, but Arkham Knight might change my tune. We have until June. We can all relax for a little bit.

The press release:

Briefly: It’s a bittersweet day for those of us looking forward to Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Knight, as today the developer launched a new teaser showcasing the game’s Batmobile in an awesome looking battle mode… but we also learned that the game has been delayed to 2015.

AAA delays seem like a weekly occurrence these days; just last week, both The Order: 1886 and The Evil Within saw similar moves.

Take a look at the trailer below, and look for more Batman: Arkham Knight at next week’s E3. Batman: Arkham Knight will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime next year.

Briefly: It’s been some time since we’ve seen or heard anything from the Batman: Arkham Knight camp, but Warner Bros. Interactive has just debuted a new trailer for the game, featuring the first clips of gameplay, as well as letting us know just what’s going on in Gotham.

In Arkham Knight, Scarecrow returns to Gotham City with a scheme to unite the Rogues Gallery and destroy the Batman once and for all. As the citizens of Gotham flee and criminal gangs take control of the city, Batman evens the odds taking to the streets in the legendary Batmobile to ignite the fight that will decide the future of the city that he is sworn to protect.

You can take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Batman: Arkham Knight will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this October!

Briefly: Arkham Knight may just be my most anticipated not-yet-released game of 2014.

Following its awesome announcement trailer from the start of the month, plus a myriad of new images just a few days later, Warner Bros. has just debuted seven new screenshots from the anticipated title. The screenshots showcase Batman and the Batmobile, as well as the new villain, Arkham Knight.

The plot synopsis for the game states that “In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City.”

With Rocksteady back behind the wheel, Arkham Knight should be glorious. The game is set to launch this October for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Take a look at the screenshots below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: The game was only announced two days ago (with a very impressive CGI trailer), but thanks to Game Informer we know have more information on the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight.

First up, it looks like the game’s subtitle, Arkham Knight, isn’t referring to Batman, but a new character altogether:

“We hadn’t in the previous games introduced someone new to the universe. We wanted to introduce someone who could really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways. We’re not talking about those ways just yet but this guy is definitely a formidable foe for Batman.” said game director Sefton Hill.

On that note, ConsoleLife has published the following image, which doesn’t look like our Bats, and is totally, probably the Arkham Knight:

ArkhamKnightThe game’s environment will take place over three distinct islands, which will end up about five times larger than the map in Arkham City. As always, Rocksteady doesn’t want to make it big, just so they can say it’s big:

As we’ve said before with Arkham City, it’s not about scale as much as detail. We want to make sure the world is rich and full of interesting things to do. We’re not trying to create the biggest open-world game ever. We are trying to create a really rich, vibrant, dense open world.”

Last update. As we learned a few days back, the Batmobile will definitely be drivable. That’s cool news, but Rocksteady doesn’t just want it to be any old car:

“We wanted to make the best car in any game ever. That was our mission statement right from the start.”

A ton of new images from the magazine have also made their way online, including our first looks at Oracle, the Penguin, the Riddler, and more. Take a look at the images below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the game! Batman: Arkham Knight will launch on October 14th, and if you pre-order the title, it looks as though you’ll get the opportunity to play as Harley Quinn.

ArkhamKnight

Briefly: So it looks like Rocksteady was working on an Arkham title after all, and it’s the first game in the series that will hit the still-new Xbox One and PS4 (and won’t be hitting PS3 or Xbox 360).

The game is called Batman: Arkham Knight, and while all that we’ve seen from the game so far is a four-minute CGI (excellent) trailer, with Rocksteady back behind the series, we know that this game is going to be heaven for Batman fans.

According to Warner Bros., Arkham Knight will act as the conclusion to the Arkham series, and that in the game “Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect.

You read that right, you get to drive the Batmobile.

Sefton Hill, Game Director at Rocksteady Studios states that “The team at Rocksteady Studios is putting a tremendous amount of work into delivering the final chapter of our Batman: Arkham trilogy so that fans can feel what it’s like to be the Batman. We’re excited to be developing the game for next-gen platforms, which has allowed us to bring to life the design elements that we envisioned from the beginning such as the Batmobile and how it augments Batman’s abilities, to the fully detailed and realized Gotham City.”

Yep, as I mentioned above, the game is only coming to next-gen (well, now current-gen) consoles (and PC), meaning that as pretty as the previous Arkham games were, Arkham Knight should look absolutely gorgeous.

Take a look at the CGI trailer below, and let us know how excited you are!
