As far as red band trailers go (or really, trailers in general), Evil Dead may have won the week, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have room for another restricted romp, this time through old time Germany!

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters hits theatres in just a few weeks, and to show off just how ‘mature’ the film can be, Paramount has released a new red band trailer for the flick. Now, there’s nothing overly red band about this trailer aside from a bit of course language, so there’s no need to warn you like we did before yesterday’s gory, gruesome preview. Watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Fifteen years after they were nearly killed by a witch with a gingerbread house, Hansel and Gretel have become bounty hunters who hunt witches.

I can’t wait to see John Dies at the End. If the trailers that we’ve seen so far (here and here) weren’t enough, the film also made up 1/10th of Jonathan’s venerable ‘Most Enjoyable Movies Of 2012‘ list.

Of course, you’ve seen the movie right? John Dies at the End came out on VOD almost a week ago for those of you that reside in the United States. Sadly, I’m all the way up in the snowy wasteland of Canada, and I was unpleasantly surprised when I learned that I’d have to wait to see the film.

Midnight Alliance has just released a new red band clip for the movie, and it’s not making the wait any easier. The clip features Paul Giamatti and a LOT of swearing. Check it out below!

Those of you that can should check out John Dies at the End as soon as possible (though DON’T pirate it). You wouldn’t want someone to spoil the ending!

After a fantastic first teaser and a gorgeous longer look just a week later, I didn’t think I could be more excited for Star Trek Into Darkness.

A few weeks have passed since the last exciting trailer, and today Paramount has treated us to a few stills. Each still looks absolutely wonderful, and every second that I look at them makes me more and more giddy to finally get to see this movie.

What do you think? Again, Star Trek Into Darkness flies into theatres on May 17th.

In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes ‘Star Trek Into Darkness.’ When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

AMC has just released a new preview for the February return of The Walking Dead. As if the wait hasn’t been long enough already, this preview is exciting and revealing; these next 39 days are going to be tough.

Season 3, Episode 9 is called The Suicide King, and will air on February 10th. Excited?

Some gameplay footage from the upcoming Activision FPS has also appeared online! Check it out below, but be warned… at this point it looks kind of terrible.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is set to release sometime this year for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Just keep that shit off my Wii U please.

Summit Entertainment has just revealed a new trailer for upcoming action-thriller Snitch. This trailer is actually the first I’ve heard of the film, but it’s definitely on my radar now. Sure it looks formulaic, but the performances look great, and it raises the important question: how far would you go for your kids?

What do you think? Snitch hits theatres on February 22nd.

In the fast-paced action thriller SNITCH, Dwayne Johnson stars as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug distribution crime and is looking at a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years.  Desperate and determined to rescue his son at all costs, he makes a deal with the U.S. attorney to work as an undercover informant and infiltrate a drug cartel on a dangerous mission — risking everything, including his family and his own life.

Did you know that there’s a new Bill and Ted movie in the works?

It doesn’t have an official title, but a script is done, and stars are attached (including both Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves). No plot details have been revealed at this time.

The official website for the film (without much content at this time, but check it out here) has just launched, and a most excellent image headlined the site: a teaser poster for the third film!

Check it out below! Are you excited about this one? Or is it bogus that a third film is happening?

UPDATE: Bill and Ted 3 is still in the works, but sadly this poster is simply bogus. A clever redditor by the name of imdwalrus discovered that this image originated over three years ago on DeviantArt.

Sorry to crush your dreams!

Jason Trost is a name we use a lot here at Geekscape. Whether we’re featuring the admirable artist on the most alcohol fueled episode of the podcast EVER, or simply showing off his anticipated next project, Jason’s is a name we keep an eye on around these parts.

It all started earlier this year with The FP. We name-drop this one pretty consistently too, so if you still haven’t seen it… what the hell is wrong with you!? Watch the trailer below, and you’ll see why The FP is something special:

I’ve shown the film to countless individuals, who have each reacted in the exact same manner; 10 minutes in they’ll beg me to turn it off, but by the end, everyone begs for more. Sadly, there isn’t any more (yet), but on the bright side, JTRO’s All Superheroes Must Die hits VOD in just a few days!

Last week I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with Jason and talk about the new movie (along with a few other topics)! Check out the transcript below, and when you get a chance to see All Superheroes Must Die, make sure to let us know what you think of it!

For those who don’t know, in your own words, describe All Superheroes Must Die.

Jason: Saw meets The Running Man. Everyone else is comparing it to Battle Royale, The Hunger Games, or this, that and the other thing. For me it always started with Running Man because that’s what I loved when I was a kid so it was definitely a huge influence.

It’s like a superhero movie with a little bit of a Verhoeven take which I wanted to do. Basically James Remar, the bad guy for me just plays a Paul Verhoeven villain. He’s just classic Robocop.

Essentially the movie is about these four superheroes who get tossed into an abandoned town, are stripped of all their superpowers, and are forced by their arch-nemesis who is supposed to be dead to play games and compete against each other to try and survive the night.

It’s really that classic 1980’s, 80 minute romp against the clock. It’s like The Warriors in that we’re not going to spend an hour setting up these superheroes, it’s more like you’re dropped right in the middle of this superhero series, and this is episode 250. You’ll find out who these characters are through the actions they take throughout the movie, rather than bogging it down with an hour of origin story, which is really driving me nuts with all the superhero movies today.

Where did the concept come from? Was it another high-school/college short like The FP was, or did you come up with it later?

Jason: I came up with this one later. I think I was about 23 when I thought of the idea. We had finished The FP, the editing was done and we were just waiting in limbo while nobody wanted to buy it. I had nothing to do and was just sitting there one boring spring afternoon. I was doing a music video and thought “you know what would be cool? Running Man with superheroes.” It was really just as stupid as that. When you’re on set for twelve hours and have nothing to do and are just staring at the walls, that’s just what happens.

That’s where it started out and we just ran with it. Then we had a little bit of money and a really short time window before Lucas went off to do X-Men and we were really sick of not doing anything so we thought “how do we make this work?” We just went on back to the FP and shot a movie in different parts of it, and some similar ones too, you’ll recognize some locations from the last film for sure.

The movie was originally titled Vs. Why the name change?

Jason: That got changed because Image (the distributor) believed, which I agree with, that it would be more marketable with a title like All Superheroes Must Die.

Vs. is kind of a vague title; if you’re going to sell a movie like this you need to think “what are you going to watch when you’re stoned on Netflix in the middle of the night? Are you going to watch something called Vs. or something like Surf Nazis?” I think that’s the case with this one: if it’s three in the morning and you’re drunk or something, you’d watch All Superheroes Must Die over Vs. any day.

We touched on this a little bit already, but to me, All Superheroes Must Die looks like one part Saw, one part Battle Royale, and a whole lot of Jason Trost. Have you heard any other interesting comparisons?

Jason: There’s a lot of Kick-Ass going around, and I get it. When you see the movie though you’ll realize that it’s really nothing like Kick-Ass at all. Kick-Ass is about a bunch of people that don’t have powers but just want to be superheroes. These people really did have powers, and it’s more about what you do when you’re trained to do and think a certain way for your entire life, and what you do when that’s no longer possible. It’s a ‘what makes a superhero super’ kind of conflict; is it just powers, or is it something more than that?

The movie started filming back in 2010. What was the development process like?

Jason: I pretty much got the idea, wrote the script a week later, and then found out we had about $20,000 and a very short time frame to do anything with it. This was all in April, and we knew we would have to shoot in June before Luke left a week later for X-Men.

It was a spur of the moment idea that just kind of happened. The development process was really short. With The FP, I had been working on a script since I was about 16 and we finally made it when I was 21. This one was a very short turnaround, with the final cut hitting less than a year after the idea came up, which is nuts!

I’m seeing a lot more publicity for All Superheroes Must Die than I did for The FP. As you’re becoming more of a household face (at least in the houses I frequent), do you find more people recognizing you on the street?

Jason: Yeah I’ve been getting a little bit of that if I’m in the right circle. When I went to Comic-Con it was insane, and I didn’t really expect it to happen at all. There was even someone dressed as JTRO walking around, and I thought that was quite the commitment. Someone even asked my if I was “dressed like the guy from The FP,” and I just said “yes I am.” It’s been a blast!

A lot of your family members were involved with The FP. Is this also the case this time around?

Jason: Yeah it was definitely the case. We used the barn that was The Foundation in The FP. We used it basically as a stage for different sets in this movie.

My dad did some effects for us, and my sister did the costumes right before she went on to do Project Runway. We literally had to finish all the costumes for the movie in two weeks; she was basically getting a bag put over her head and being driven out to New York to be on that show with no contact for six weeks.

How’s working with James Remar? Rickshaw sure seems a lot different from the Harry Morgan that I’m used to seeing.

Jason: He’s awesome. I love James. I’ve been friends with him since I was ten years old because my dad was doing effects of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. We were over in London and Thailand for four months when I was in fifth grade. I was on set doing nothing, and I had a Game Boy and we bonded over playing Tetris and now here he is in my movie all these years later.

What were some of the challenges you faced while making the film?

Jason: It was definitely the money factor. We had to figure out how to make this movie for what the budget of food is on most independent movies. Constantly trying to create things out of nothing, taking things out of the script or condensing them because they were impossible to do due to time or money constraints. It was a constant struggle of trying to keep the movie cohesive and not a total piece of shit. I think we achieved that in the end, but it was definitely very hard.

Conversely, what was the most exciting aspect of being a part of this project?

Jason: I loved being in a superhero costume. I’ve been dreaming of it since I was a kid. I’ve been Batman probably ten times for Halloween. It was just awesome going to work and putting on a superhero costume and holding a gun and getting makeup scars across my face. It’s everything you want to do when you’re six years old, and I just got to do it. It was awesome.

This one’s right from Jonathan: Has Luke sold out? Are you happy for him, or would you like to kill him in his sleep?

Jason: (Laughter). I don’t think he’s necessarily sold out. If he has, thank God, because it’s what’s selling our movie. I’m definitely happy for him, and I hope they don’t just give him the shaft on the next X-Men.

How is All Superheroes Must Die different from other superhero films?

Jason: I’m not really sure that it is totally different. It’s a lot of what you’ve seen a million times, just told in a very different way. It’s shot as though it’s a dark indie movie instead of a typical blockbuster comic book film. Really it should have come out in the 1980’s, and it’s kind of weird that it didn’t.

I can’t wait to see it. When will we be able to check the movie out?

Jason: It comes out on VOD on January 1st, and then will hit theatres a few days later on the 4th. On the 29th it’ll hit Blu-Ray, DVD, and iTunes. It’s all coming out very quickly.

How about an update on Hatchet 3?

Jason: That was so much fun. I went to New Orleans and shot that which was great. I didn’t know it was possible for there to be so many bugs in one place. Of course we were shooting in actual swamps, and I had to have bug spray on three layers of clothing just to avoid being eaten alive.

It was awesome though. I get to fire a gun, I get to be a stupid southern cop, and I had no idea I was going to have an accent until the first take. I just looked around, and everyone else was doing one, and I didn’t want to seem out of place, so I just went for a mix of Shane from The Walking Dead mixed with Tommy Lee Jones, and there it was.

That’s all folks! All Superheroes Must Die hits VOD this Monday! When you’re hungover on New Years Day, make sure to check it out!

Amazing news, and also a disappointing realization.

John Dies At The End looks freaking wonderful, and it’s available TODAY on iTunes and VOD. I’ve heard nothing but praise for the film from the big man on Geekscape’s campus (Jonathan, duh), and countless others that had the pleasure of seeing it early. I can’t wait until my shift ends tonight so I can go home and PAY to see it!

John Dies At The End is an independent film. They need your dough to make more independent films happen. If everyone pirated everything (which unfortunately seems to be the way the world is going), independent films will cease to exist, and the world will have less chance of seeing another masterpiece like John Dies At The End (among many, many others).

We know you would never do it, but just in case, here’s a warning:

“Before pirating JOHN DIES AT THE END be sure to watch the video below as stealing the film could result in severe health issues. Those with an erection lasting over 4 hours after viewing JOHN DIES AT THE END please consult a physician. Support independent films. Support something different…all without leaving your home, heck your bed. It’s so simple even a meat monster could do it.”

So it’s REALLY important you don’t pirate this one. When you inevitably do watch it however, make sure to let us know what you thought!

Anyone who has ever worked retail (or has ever dealt with people) knows Clerks, and knows it well. The 1994 comedy (which was a little too close to real life for some) became an instant cult hit, and is still something I think of consistently when dealing with certain people.

Earlier this month Clerks creator (and Silent Bob himself) revealed via twitter that a third film would eventually happen, and fans went wild.

Today, Smith appeared on Good Day LA, and reiterated his plans to make Clerks III his final film. He talks of Clerks III (and how he’d like to make it for the same dollar amount that the first film cost), of his film-turned-miniseries Hit Somebody, and even more! It’s extremely interesting for Smith and Clerks fans alike, so check it out by clicking the link below (Clerks talk at 4:50)!

Good Day LA Interview

So Clerks III in 2014; are you looking forward to another trip to the Quick Stop?

Though the savings only extend to three games, Nintendo’s holiday sale could be the start of something beautiful: over the entire course of the Wii lifecycle, I can’t recall the occurrence of a single digital sale EVER. To have one so soon after the release of the Wii U can only mean good things for the future.

It’s no Steam sale, but Nintendo is offering some neat savings on three eShop titles:

Chasing Aurora is a 2D areal action game about the dream of flight. The title is available for a limited time for just $7.49! Though I haven’t played it, the game looks quite beautiful, and I’m sure I’ll pick it up before the sale is over!

Trine was absolutely wonderful, and somehow in the nine months since Trine 2 released, I still haven’t played it! Trine 2 is a gorgeous platformer, with plenty of neat physics based puzzles to perplex you on your journey. Based on the first game alone, I’d recommend this to anyone, and it’s on sale for just $15.99.

Little Inferno is one of the most interesting, oddly beautiful games I’ve had the pleasure of playing this year. All you really do is burn things in a virtual fire, but the game gives everything such a unique style and sense of purpose, that it’s very hard to put down. It’s a short but sweet adventure, and I implore you to give it a shot. It’s morbid, it’s disturbing, it’s beautiful, and right now, it’s just $9.99!

Seriously Wii U owners, check these games out!

Summit Entertainment has just given us a late Christmas present: the first four minutes of upcoming ZomRomDramCom (Zombie Romantic Drama Comedy) Warm Bodies.

The film hits theatres on February 1st, and if this clip is any indication, it’ll be well worth the price of admission!

Check it out below, and let us know what you think!

A tormented zombie (Nicholas Hoult) experiences a profound transformation after entering into an unusual relationship with the daughter (Teresa Palmer) of a military leader charged with eradicating the walking dead. As the unlikely pair build a tenuous bridge between the living and the dead, those on both sides of the battle begin to sense that nothing in their world will ever be the same again. Warm Bodies is based on the novel by Isaac Marion.

First of all, what did everyone think of that Christmas special? Those snowmen looked pretty freaking creepy!

Doctor Who is over for 2012, but fear not! In just a few short months (April to be exact), the good doctor will return for more adventures.

BBC has already released a trailer for next year’s offering, and it looks (from a non-watchers perspective), pretty damn awesome. Watch it below, and let us know what you think!

Steam, the App Store, Good Old Games: it seems as though every digital game store currently has titles on sale. Playstation owners aren’t left out of course, and the PSN deals this week are particularly awesome!

Sony has branded it as the Holiday Essentials Sale, and it’s bound to make both new owners (who may not even be owners until tomorrow) and current owners alike ecstatic; there are some great games here, for some unbelievably low prices.

Duke Nukem Forever (Sale: $13.99, PS Plus: $9.80, Regular: $19.99)
Galaga Legions DX (Sale: $6.99, PS Plus: $4.90, Regular: $9.99)
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational Vita (Sale: $12.49, PS Plus: $8.74, Regular: $17.99)
Journey (Sale: $10.49, PS Plus: $7.35, Regular: $14.99)
Killzone 3 Multiplayer (Sale: $10.49, PS Plus: $7.35, Regular: $14.99)
Mafia II (Sale: $13.99, PS Plus: $9.80, Regular: $19.99)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater – HD Edition PS3 (Sale: $10.49, PS Plus: $7.35, Regular: $14.99)
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection PS Vita (Sale: $24.49, PS Plus: $17.14, Regular: $34.99)

Papo & Yo (Sale: $10.49, PS Plus: $7.35, Regular: $14.99)
Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty (Sale: $10.49, PS Plus: $7.35, Regular: $14.99)
Retro City Rampage (Sale: $10.49, PS Plus: Free, Regular: $14.99)
Retro City Rampage PS Vita (Sale: $10.49, PS Plus: Free, Regular: $14.99)
Simpsons The Arcade Game (Sale: $6.99, PS Plus: $4.90, Regular: $9.99)

Unit 13 (Sale: $18.49, PS Plus: $12.94, Regular: $26.99)

Journey (which was just nominated for a Grammy),  Papo & Yo, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater are my must-haves. There are also a few Vita titles on there, which remind me of the terrible, terrible time that I owned a Vita.

Have fun, happy holidays, and hopefully you at least pick up Journey (seriously, it’s amazing).

Starz has just released a new trailer for Spartacus: War of the Damned; the third and final season of the popular Roman epic.

In my opinion, the first season of Spartacus was wonderful, and the story of Andy Whitfield’s passing is one that everyone in Hollywood (and everywhere else) will remember for a long time. There is a wonderful looking documentary in production about the actor titled Be Here Nowand I absolutely can’t wait to see it.

That being said, I haven’t found the time to watch beyond the first season of the show. From everything I’ve heard however, the quality hasn’t let up, so this third season should be no different.

Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Spartacus: War of the Damned premieres on January 25th.

“Spartacus: War of the Damned,” currently in production in New Zealand, takes place following the defeat of Roman commander Gaius Claudius Glaber. Spartacus and his men have amassed major victories against the Romans after the Battle of Vesuvius.  These victories have not only forged the legend of Spartacus, but have greatly increased the ranks of the rebellion slaves to more than 30,000. Rome is indeed beginning to tremble at the threat Spartacus now represents.

Back in November we showed you a fantastic trailer for Grand Theft Auto V. That trailer was phenomenal, and showed off just how varied and fresh GTA can still be after so many iterations. The game looks great, and I can’t wait to pick it up!

It must be the holidays; Rockstar has just released five new screenshots for the game, and they look awesome. Check them out below, and let us know what you think!

Also, is that a submarine?

Grand Theft Auto V is set to hit shelves in Spring 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360. I’m still hoping for a Wii U announcement!

Do you remember 2007’s Epic Movie? How about Superhero Movie  or Disaster Movie in 2008? The only reason I’m mentioning those abysmal ‘films’ is because they look like award winners in comparison to the upcoming Scary Movie 5.

Watch the trailer below, if you dare (I warned you):

“The plot involves Three dancers — one veteran performer and two upstarts who are also best friends — vie for the lead in a new production from a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed director.” The “reboot” will spoof Black Swan, Paranormal Activity, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and 127 Hours.

Scary Movie 5 will find itself in theatres on April 19th, 2013.

No big news here, just Stan Lee being Stan Lee: the venerable character creator has just uploaded a wonderful version of The Twelve Days of Christmas featuring who else, but him!

The video comes care of Stan’s World of Heroes YouTube channel, which is chock-full of other hilariously entertaining goodies.

Check out the song below, and enjoy! Happy holidays!

Well, December 21st is half over, and it appears as though we’re all still here. I guess it’s time to get back to work (sorry Roland Emmerich).

It’s been a good 24 hours for comedy trailers; Last night we showed you the incredibly funny first teaser for This is the End, and now Warner Bros. has treated us to this magical preview.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone stars Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi, Jim Carrey, Alan Arkin, Olivia Wilde, Jame Gandolfini, and more. That sounds like a pretty incredible cast to me. It’s also about magicians, and one of them (Carrey), plays the Chris Angel douchbag type. I can’t wait to see more of that!

Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think! The Incredible Burt Wonderstone will hit theatres on March 15th, 2012!

Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt’s growing ego. But lately the duo’s greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they’ve grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there’s still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act—both onstage and off—if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.

Just one day before the world is yet again set to end (yeah right), Sony Pictures has released a teaser for another movie about the apocalypse.

This is no Roland Emmerich disaster film however, This is the End looks absolutely hilarious. The film stars James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Michael Cera, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Danny McBride, Aziz Ansari, and Craig Robinson, and Emma Watson. What a cast!

Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think! This is the End hits theatres on June 14, 2013 (if we make it that far).

You’ll want to jump on this one quickly, who knows how long it’ll last!

Marvel’s popular mobile title Avengers Initiative released back in September to much fanfare. At its core, the title is an Infinity Blade clone with most of the depth removed. It does however, feature some great graphics, a decent storyline, and the tried and true, fun as hell Infinity Blade gameplay.

The game launched at the worthy price of $6.99, but now for a limited time, Avengers Initiative is on the App Store for FREE! The game just received a major update featuring Captain America, and is set to get even more characters and updates as time goes on.

It can’t get any cheaper than this folks. The game may have its issues, but it’s still a great time! While you’re at it, episode one of Telltale’s The Walking Dead is free too! Android users, the game is also on sale for you, but for $4.99.

Read our review here, download the game here, and let us know what you think!

Tonight Paramount Pictures revealed the official release date for Anchorman: The Legend Continues (AKA, the Will Ferrell sequel that fans have been waiting for FOREVER). Just 366 days from now, on December 20th, 2013, you’ll get another taste of Ron Burgundy and the rest of the crew.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy director Adam McKay returns for the sequel, as do all of the main cast members of the first film! Plotwise, nothing yet is known about the picture, but I’d bet it to be just as ridiculous as the first one. In any case, San Diego’s Channel 4 News Team is BACK!

Back in June a teaser trailer was released for the movie. Watch it again below, and be excited (or as excited as you can be for a film that’s still a year away)!

Mark Wahlberg & Dwayne Johnson, both extra buff and without shirts? This one’s going to break records.

Paramount Pictures has just released the trailer for Michael Bay’s upcoming Pain And Gain. The film follows Daniel Lugo (Wahlberg) and Paul Doyle (Johnson), two bodybuilders who act out a kidnapping before things go terribly wrong.

As mediocre as Michael Bay films can sometimes be, this one actually looks pretty decent. Check out the trailer below and decide for yourself!

Pain And Gain hits theatres on April 26th, 2013!

Well this is both unexpected and exciting.

Deadline has just reported that a reboot of The Twilight Zone is in the early stages of development. Popular director Bryan Singer has signed on to develop the project and possibly direct the pilot.

Nothing else is known about the project at this point. The reboot has not yet been pitched to networks, and a writer is not yet attached.

In any case, this is great! I still remember watching old reruns of the original series when I was younger, and making a new Twilight Zone for a new generation can (hopefully) only be a good thing! Well, it could also be terrible. It’s not all golden in the land of Singer (looking at you, Superman Returns).

What do you think of the news? Excited? What was your favourite episode of the original series?

Irrational Games’ latest Bioshock may have been delayed time and time again, but that doesn’t mean I’m any less excited for it. The company has just released a video detailing the first five minutes of the game, and it’s just as beautiful and Bioshocking as you’d expect!

Watch the opening scene below, and share your thoughts! Bioshock Infinite is currently slated to hit shelves on March 26th of next year!

Though it doesn’t sound like it will be fully functioning, North America will be getting a taste of Nintendo’s TVii service TOMORROW!

Announced back in January, TVii intends to make the WiiU not just a game system, but the entertainment hub of your living room. Rather than having to search through cable, PVR, and Subscription options for your favourite movies and shows, TVii looks to use a beautiful interface to amalgamate everything into one! Check out the trailer below and see what it’s all about!

According to today’s press release, tomorrow the service will support cable and satellite providers, as well as Amazon Instant and Hulu plus. Netflix and TiVo integration are set to come in early 2013.

The TVii experience looks pretty phenomenal, and at no extra monthly cost I could definitely see the WiiU becoming the media centre of choice for many people. Remember when you bought a PS3 and justified the fact that even if you didn’t play it, you had one of the best Blu-Ray players around? This is the same thing!

Too bad I live in Canada, where we have neither Amazon Instant or Hulu. I’m still looking forward to checking it out!

By now, each and every one of you will have played Telltale’s incredible rendition of The Walking Dead. Here at Geekscape, we’ve been swooning over the title since the release of its first chapter all the way back in April. How could you have ignored us for that long?

Oh, you haven’t played it? Really? Even after it won Game of the Year at the VGA‘s and received universal praise from every single person who touched it? Okay then…

If you own an iPhone, iPad, iPad mini, or iPod touch, you now have no excuse. The kind souls over at Telltale Games has put the first episode of the game on sale, for nothing. Zilch. Zero. Like it’s free. This won’t last forever though, so get on it. IT’S FREE!

I already thought the game was too cheap. The $20 I paid for it has given me more breathtaking moments than any full priced title in a very, very long time.

Of course, after you finish this first episode, you simply won’t be able to stop!

Download the app here! The rest of the episodes can be unlocked from within the game. Telltale has also put the rest of there iOS lineup on sale for next to nothing, so if you like adventure, take a look!

As always, let us know what you think!

Back in October we showed you a green band trailer for Magnet Releasing’s upcoming John Dies at the End. The film immediately jumped to the top of my radar, and I’ve been counting down the days until I could see it ever since. That day is fast approaching. John Dies at the End hits VOD in just 9 days (December 27th), and will make its way into theatres on January 25th.

A new red band trailer has just been released for the film, and it’s even better than the last preview! Check it out below, get excited, and start counting down!

Are you a festival goer who’s already seen the film? Let us know what you think! Just don’t spoil the ending.

In JOHN DIES AT THE END, it’s all about the Soy Sauce, a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. Users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John (Rob Mayes) and David (Chase Williamson), a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No.No, they can’t.

Kojak is headed the silver screen!

After a popular 1970’s television series, a failed 2005 reimagining, and plenty of TV movies in between, the iconic police officer is again coming back to life thanks to Universal. The already bald Vin Diesel will portray Lt. Theo Kojak, who was originally played by Telly Savalas, and later by Ving Rhames.

The film will be scripted by Skyfall scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who also wrote the previous four Bond films. They also wrote Skyfall’s third act… so there’s that too.

I’ve never seen Kojak, but I could imagine that fans would be pretty excited about this! What do you think? Does Diesel look the part?

On an October Geekscapepod, Jonathan mentioned a little documentary called The American Scream. Produced and directed by Michael Stephenson (Best Worst Movie), the film follows three Halloween obsessed families on a journey to create a wonderful haunted house experience.

Jonathan was a fan of the film, and now you can be too! Magic Stone productions has just announced that The American Scream is now available on Blu-Ray/DVD, exclusively here!

The Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack is available for just $17.99, and would make a wonderful gift for any Halloween fan on your list! Check out the trailer below, and if you’re a fan of the film, let us know what you thought of it!

The wait is finally over.

All the way back in October (doesn’t that seem like ages ago?) we told you all about the upcoming release of the limited edition NEOGEO X GOLD. That release is now upon us, as the sought after console is set to launch this week.

My bank account won’t allow it this close to Christmas, but I will definitely be picking one of these up at some point. How about you?
