Fire Emblem Echoes has arrived for the 3DS! So as expected, Nintendo’s latest turn based strategy epic launched with a limited edition that left fans of the game mashing their refresh buttons for a chance to get their hands on the special release. Packaged with a soundtrack, a hardcover artbook and three pixel pins featuring Alm, Celica, and series poster boy Marth, we were able to snag one of the boxes to share with all you wonderful people. So if you were unable to get one yourself, or just wanted to see what the big deal was, take a look at our unboxing gallery below and check out all the goodies.

The unboxing begins.

The art book is loaded with detailed notes and concept art for many of the game’s cast.

The design of the CD has to be the nicest looking part of the package.

To think Celica could look any cuter.

The pin backings hid some cool erm… emblems.

While the CD may look gorgeous and I’m always a sucker for pins, the art book goes above and beyond the meager offerings I’ve come to expect from limited editions I’ve bought in the past, making it the highlight of the package for me. Its solid cover highlights its contents, which are filled with a decent amount of insight to accompany the evolution of the character designs. For an extra $20, it’s hard to walk away as anything but satisfied.

Check out our full review of Echoes here. Are you on the fence about picking up the amiibo for the game? Find out if they’re worth it before you go on the hunt. Let us know what your favorite items in the limited edition were in the comments!

Do you love Neptunia as much as we do? Do you love waifus? Do you love pillows!? Idea Factory has us covered with the SuperDimension Neptune vs. Sega Hard Girls limited edition, which is available for pre order now!

Ahead of the game’s October 18 release date, Vita owners are going to find plenty of ways to show off their IF love. Aside from the game, the package comes with the soundtrack on two CDs, a full color 28 page art book complete with character bios, a reversible cover, and an awesome collectors box featuring Hatsumi Sega. Most importantly, the double sided pillow case will let you snuggle up with whichever version of IF you want! So whether or not you want to cuddle with regular waifu, or make your dreams come true with the Dream Fusiom form, all it takes to fit your preference is a flip to the cold side of the pillow.

The limited edition is making us even more excited for a game that was a highlight of our E3 experience this year. With new protagonists, firms, and the ability to change classes, the last month is going to be the hardest to wait for. Pre-orders are open here for those who need a cuddle buddy, so let us know if you’re planning on picking this up!

Fans of 2D hack and slash games were thrilled to learn that Odin Sphiere Leifthrasir, a remake of the late PS2 classic that put Vanillaware on the map, would be coming to Playstation platforms in 2016. Courtesy of Atlas, now we know when we’ll be able to play it!

Launching on June 7th for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita, Leifthrasir puts us in control of five different characters in a Norse inspired setting as their stories intertwine to reveal an ancient conflict. Featuring gorgeous 2D visuals, challenging combat, and a memorable soundtrack, it’s great to see this gem get a second look.

With every first print copy of the game, Leifthrasir will come packaged with a 64 page softcover art book, showing off those fancy character designs we were just talking about. If you’re a PS4 owner who adores the game as much as I do, then a special “Storybook Edition” will launch exclusively for that platform, coming with the game and a hardcover version of the art book, alongside a potion recipe t-shirt, a mystery art print, and a metal slipcase and premium packaging for the game.

Show of hands: who had one or both of the original Gameboy games, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue (Green never made it to the U.S.)? I remember choosing Blue back in the day.

Even those who didn’t have a chance to play those old cartridges should be psyched for the upcoming New Nintendo 3DS bundle. This commemorative edition will come packed with a New Nintendo 3DS (not an XL), two cover plates, copies of Red and Blue pre-installed along with a code for an exclusive HOME menu theme.

You will be able to purchase this bundle from video game retailers on February 27. Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, as well as Pokémon Yellow will also be available as eShop digital downloads on February 27.

Excited? Which classic title do you plan on re-playing first?

If you’re a fan of the Hyperdimension Neputnia franchise like I am, but you’re not following them on their Facebook or Twitter accounts, then you’ve missed the team slowly rolling out the contents of the upcoming Megadimension Neptunia VII limited edition for the PS4. Never ones to hold back on special content, the final count ends up with seven different items for the hardcore Gamindustri faithful, all for an extra $25. Not bad, right?

First, is this PS4 skin featuring the NEXT version of Purple Heart, with the various Gamipics of the cast surrounding the edges. Adding a way to put a personal touch on your Sony console, the color scheme and set up goes really well with the console’s standard layout in my opinion. Check it out for yourself!

Megadimension Neptunia Limited Edition 4

Being able to display your Neptunia love on your console is all well and good, but what about the rest of your room? That’s where the poster comes in, showing Neptune in battle against the latest CPU to join the cast.

Megadimension Neptunia Limited Edition 8

Next is a slipcover and special box for the game, with each of the CPU’s prominently featured on the outside. From past favorites like Noire, Vert and Blanc, to the debuting Uzume, the special design might just be too adorable to handle.

Megadimension Neptunia Limited Edition 2

It wouldn’t be a proper limited edition without a soundtrack or art book, right? Luckily, in addition to the goodies listed above, we’re getting both! The art book shows off character designs and shares brief profiles of each of the featured characters, while the two disc soundtrack features Mr. Badd’s “daughters” from Victory and Re;Birth III on the cover.

But most importantly, we have to have our mascots represented, and what better way to do that than to bring one of them out in plush form? After weeks of reveals, the final item in this packed special edition is… Umio! This fish with a human face might give us uneasy memories of Sega’s creepy, sarcastic monstrosity, Seaman, but Umio is much easier to cuddle. Don’t believe me? See for yourself!

Megadimension Neptunia Limited Edition 5

As you might know, fans have been waiting on pins and needles to find out what will be included, especially considering previous sets have quickly sold out, only to be flipped for insane prices through second hand markets. If you don’t want to be left out in the cold, make sure to have your refresh buttons ready on January 7th at 10 PM PST! Retailing at $84.99, which is only $25 more than the standard game with so much more included, and this one’s feeling like a no brainer for someone like me who needs everything Neptune.

Has the limited edition convinced you to pick the game up? Share your Gamindustri love with us in the comments below, and be sure to check back with us as more news on Megadimension Neptunia becomes available.

Today, Nintendo unveiled a limited edition for the highly anticipated Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. Retailing at $49.99, this special edition will include a copy of the 3DS title and a special Skull Kid figurine to give you the creeps at night.

Releasing day and date with the standard release at select retailers, (neither of which have been announced as of yet,) this is an easy purchase for hardcore Zelda fans.

While I’m not sure if anyone saw this coming, let me just say that it’s a relief knowing that we’re getting this. With Nintendo, it seems like for every limited edition we do get, (like Wind Waker HD,) we miss out on two more, (Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, and Hyrule Warriors spring to mind.) Be ready to jump on those pre orders, I have a feeling this one might go fast.

Majora’s Mask 3D is set for a 2015 release.

As an extra bonus to the Kingdom Hearts faithful who reserve the upcoming 2.5 HD Remix, Square Enix announced that pre ordered copies will come with an exclusive Disney pin, featuring Sora and Mickey with a hanging keyblade chain.

Marketing the pin as a free upgrade to the limited edition, (while essentially just being a pre order bonus), the game itself will include Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep: Final Mix, both of which will mark their debut outside of Japan. In addition, a non-playable retelling of Kingdom Hearts: ReCoded, the cell phone game turned handheld title will get the bonus treatment in the same way 358/2 Days got in the first HD collection. Then again, we’d probably be better off ignoring it.
Throw in the pin on top of that, and you’ve got what sounds like a pretty sweet deal. These often end up being hot collectors items, and those who are into collecting them are REALLY into it. Have you seen how much these things go for on eBay?

While our limited edition still isn’t as awesome as the Japanese collectors edition, the pin is pretty sweet. Has this announcement affected your decision to pick up 2.5 when it releases on December 5th?

The Pikachu-themed 3DS XL disappeared from store shelves in a day. The Animal Crossing: New Leaf-themed 3DS XL system sold out before stores opened their doors. At this rate, Nintendo’s latest limited-edition 3DS XL may be gone by the time I finish this sentence.

3DSXLPokemon

On September 27, only a few weeks before Pokemon X  and Pokemon Y are released world-wide, fans will have the opportunity to pick up a limited-edition 3DS XL system, either red or blue, featuring the new Legendary Pokémon–Xerneas and Yveltal. As one can see, the design does not differ from either system, so it just comes down to one’s preference of color. Pokemon fans, if you haven’t placed a pre-order on one of these bad boys by now, you may want to do so over the weekend. As the recently sold out Wii U Wind Waker HD Deluxe bundle has shown, collector items like these sell out extremely fast. The Pokemon X & Y-themed 3DS XL systems will come with a $199.99 price tag (game not included).

The wait is finally over.

All the way back in October (doesn’t that seem like ages ago?) we told you all about the upcoming release of the limited edition NEOGEO X GOLD. That release is now upon us, as the sought after console is set to launch this week.

Tommo has just released a launch trailer for the console, and as much as I wanted the console before,  I now feel as though I need it. This thing looks incredible:

-The NEOGEO X Station – Houses NEOGEO X Handheld for charging and audio/video output capabilities via HDMI and composite cables (for a true “classic” experience) – A system within a system!
-One NEOGEO X Arcade Stick – Authentic arcade experience, for use with the NEOGEO X Station

20 Pre-Loaded Classic NEOGEO® AES games:

That is quite the list of games. Though I was only two years old when the NEOGEO AES released, I picked one up years later and had an absolute blast with it. I still own a NEOGEO Pocket Color and play it on a semi-regular basis.

My bank account won’t allow it this close to Christmas, but I will definitely be picking one of these up at some point. How about you?

The greatest super hero of all time is celebrating 50 years of being on film. With the incredible Blu-Ray Collection coming out on Tuesday the 25th, MGM and AMC are teaming up to give us a special treat on the day before.

Monday September 24th, 50 select AMC theaters across the country will be showing a special screening of the first James Bond film “Dr. NO”. From the press release:

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, AMC Theatres, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Park Circus are bringing the original James Bond film, DR. NO, to 50 theaters nationwide on Monday, September 24 at 7PM. Tickets for the event are just $7.

You read that? $7! SEVEN US DOLLARS! For the price of a Venti Java Chip Frappuccino you can see one of the BEST Bond films, IN A THEATER! Not only that, you get a little extra for showing your devotion to Bond. All attendees of the screening will get a special limited edition 50 years of James Bond print. I’m guessing they will be the same ones they had at Comic Con, and those were pretty cool. Additionally each theater will be giving away one copy of the ENTIRE collection of Bond films on Blu-Ray! That is the most $7 has gotten anyone EVER!

Fore info and to find a theater showing it, check out the AMC PAGE HERE.

I am severely pissed that I live in Alaska, as they are not doing the screening up here! Probably the only chance I could ever see my all time favorite James Bond film in theaters and I get screwed by geography. So all you people in America, don’t waste this opportunity!

Dr. No hits theaters September 24th. Bond 50 Year Collection hit stores September 25th and Skyfall is out November 9th.
