Briefly: In just one more week you’ll finally be able to pick up Grand Theft Auto V… again.

Sure, you may have already played the game on your Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, but after checking out the just-released launch trailer, you’re very likely going to want need to head back to Los Santos.

Rockstar says that “Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North’s epic reimagining of Southern California.”

It’ll include all the content that’s been released for the game so far, as Rockstar notes that “gameplay created since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online, including an extensive array of new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations will also be available for the PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One and PC with much more to come. In addition, the current community of players will have the ability to transfer their Grand Theft Auto Online characters and progression to their choice of PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC.”

We can’t wait. I never actually finished the PS3 version of the title, so it’ll be as good a reason as any for me to jump right back into it. Take a look at the launch trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be picking this one up.

Video games that incorporate stealth as the core mechanic usually fall into one of two camps. Either you will fail for alerting someone immediately or the option to fight off enemies with ease makes stealth out of place. A few games can find the right balance between the two extremes. Styx: Master of Shadows tends to teeter in finding its balance but never falls over.

The story in Styx: Master of Shadows won’t get many invested to learn too much past the intro. Styx wakes up with no memory other than he needs to steal the heart of the World Tree, which is the source of the magical goo, Amber. Since the World Tree is deep within the Tower of Akenash, you’ll have to traverse your way through the tower to achieve your goal. With the story a little shallow, Styx himself was my focus of interest. I fell in love with the little goblin as a character. The personality alongside the voice acting pushed me towards the next cutscene. I enjoyed the take-no-shit attitude Styx carried himself with while being able to show a little compassion. Some of the crass language was fitting for a goblin. A couple of times I felt the writers leaned a little heavy on the crassness which soured the wonderful character they built up in Styx.

When I wasn’t enamored with learning more about Styx, I was putting his assassin and thief skills to the test. Sand balls for extinguishing torches, throwing daggers, health, amber, and acid vials.  Sure seems like all the tools are here for striking fear from the shadows. You can upgrade Styx’s abilities with five sets of skill trees that each include four upgrades. The more objectives you complete in each mission, the more points you will have to spend on skills. I went for upgrading the stealth, equipment, and combat trees first due to some of the issues when leaving the safety of the shadows. Creating clones with amber is a unique feature that I rarely used outside of when it was mandatory. Switching between your clone and back felt clunky and unintuitive. It would have been better if instead of taking direct control over your clones, you could issue orders to them.

Styx: Master of Shadows gives you the opportunity to escape or fight back when cornered. The problem with fighting back is the combat is horrendous. Attacking is nothing more than tapping a button to parry the blow before killing the attacker. The fact that Styx ends up locked in combat and cannot run away only makes me dislike the combat more. When many foes are targeting you at once, you might as well load your last save. While playing the rhythm game when parrying one attack, the others will throw daggers until you die. Dying may seem terrible with unforgiving checkpoints, but you can make your own checkpoints by saving at any time. This negates having to sit through pot shots from guards you cannot dodge.

Sticking to the shadows or high above all the action would be smart to avoid the messy combat in Styx: Master of Shadows. Unfortunately, there are issues when it comes to traversal throughout the game. You can never be sure if the ledge within range is a place Styx can grapple or not. Many deaths involved falling to my doom or landing in the middle of a group of guards. All because a ledge I jumped for was not something my stubby fingers could grab. Even with the surfaces you can grip tight, Styx will come down with a case of the butterfingers as you watch his face hit the floor. This didn’t happen all too often, but it was enough to stress me out every time I made a jump from high above to reach the safety of a ledge. A little more distinction on what surfaces you can interact with would have saved countless deaths and lots of stress.

When not running into issues with butterfingers or poor combat, the huge scope of the areas in Styx: Master of Shadows made me giddy. With the many tools at Styx’s disposal finite until all four parts of each mission were complete, my inner strategist lit up. Knowing when and where to use them is vital to your survival. Using invisibility to pass a guard might seem worth it at first. As time goes on, you might find it more useful to save it for escaping. These limitations lead to me discovering that the environment itself was the best tool in Styx’s arsenal. Chairs, vases, brooms, and buckets make for perfect diversions when exploring the many paths in the tower.

Being little in stature helps by offering up places that are not sought after when looking for a safe hiding spot. Tables, vases, and small crawl spaces are viable options for safety among the usual closets and chests to hide in. Although these monster closets are perfect for Styx to pounce his enemies, peeking to see when the coast is clear is the only option.

Styx: Master of Shadows does a fantastic job making Styx interesting enough to endure glaring issues. Poor combat, buggy traversal, and a shallow story might be too much to spend more than 17 hours to see the end. I was proud that I walked in Styx’s shadow and was worth the suffering if only to hang with the goblin a little while longer.

Briefly: Let the raiding begin.

While I’m not even close to being high enough level to give this a shot, Bungie has announced that Destiny’s first raid, the Vault of Glass, will open at 2AM Pacific time tonight. It sure sounds like a freaking blast. Here’s what the developer had to say about the event:

“Beneath Venus, evil stirs.”

 

The Director is light on details for the Raid in Destiny. This is by design. The most elaborate mission ever created by Bungie is a mystery as much as it is a challenge – a puzzle and a gauntlet. The race to see who can be first to solve it – with their cunning and their skill – is about to begin.

 

At 2:00 AM Pacific on Tuesday, September 16th, the Raid will accept challengers in Destiny. That’s 9:00 AM GMT.

 

Become Legend.
Not everyone will qualify. Among those who do, not everyone will succeed. To even approach this trial of teamwork and combat, the Guardians in your Fireteam will need to be Level 26.

 

Gear up. Team up.
Bring with you a team that has made the commitment to work together. Configure your loadouts so that you are powerful together in a variety of ways. Communicate with each other. The Raid will demand that you operate as a team. Cooperation is the key to your success.

 

Follow the Leader.
It’s very likely that you will not finish the Raid in one sitting. Your Fireteam leader is crucial to your eventual potential success. Your progress will be saved for one week. To resume your mission where you left off, you’ll need to follow the same Fireteam leader back into battle.

 

Enjoy the View.
There are those among you who are certain that they will be first. They have accepted our dare with a pledge to broadcast their first attempt. If you’re not yet prepared to undertake this rite of passage, you’re welcome to watch as they venture into the hostile unknown.

Briefly: Destiny is now available worldwide, and though I haven’t yet had the opportunity to spend much time in the world of Bungie’s latest space epic, I really can’t wait to fully explore and experience the vast world(s) that the game has to offer. I spent a ton of time with Destiny‘s alpha way back in the day, and I’ve been nothing but happy with the retail release thus far.

One of Destiny‘s best features is its phenomenal soundtrack. The game was composed by Marty O’Donnell, Mike Salvatori, and Paul McCartney, the latter actually creating a single specifically for the game’s release.

I hadn’t yet heard the track in my brief time in Old Russia, but YouTuber Kilo Juliett has been kind enough to put the track online. You can give it a listen for yourself below, and don’t forget to watch the game’s live-action trailer if you haven’t yet, and be sure to let us know what you’re thinking of Destiny so far!

The next installment of the popular Batman: Arkham series has just announced the release date of Batman: Arkham Knight: June 2, 2015! So, you’ve got awhile.

The release date is not the only announcement, however. We can all relax for a little bit.

Briefly: Early last month Capcom surprised us all with the announcement of a new HD version of its horror classicResident Evil.

The initial screens were very pretty, but now there’s a gorgeous trailer, complete with terrible voice acting, for you to feast those hungry eyes on.

As Andy noted in the original announcement, “the Xbox One and PS4 will benefit the most from this HD version of Resident Evil with things like 1080p resolution and fully remastered sound to support 5.1 surround sound. There will also be options to change the aspect ratio between 4:3 and 16:9. Not sure I would want to go back to the dark days of 4:3 though having that option will please someone out there. If you hated the tank controls of Resident Evil, you’re in luck. There will be an alternative control scheme for those of us who never want to go back to those frustrating controls ever again.”

It’s so close, in fact, that Bungie and Activision have debuted the impressive launch trailer for the game… which is going to make the next 18 days and even longer wait.

As the first full WWE game to be developed under the 2K name AND to hit current gen consoles, fans have high hopes for the upcoming WWE 2K15. While we’ve only had roster reveals up to this point, (including the surreal addition of WCW icon, Sting), we have yet to see what the game will look like, until now.

While these shots are from a game that’s still in progress, word is that these were taken through the in-game engine, which would be beyond impressive if they are. The definition and detail coming off of Cena and Orton looks like they’re in the middle of their latest televised showdown on the WWE Network, (which is only $9.99 a month), so much so that the baby oil and tanner is almost oozing off of the screen.

Then again, game companies have a history of presenting images that don’t come close to representing the end product that actually ends up in our hands, (Watch Dogs and Killzone 2, anyone?) Yet, I’m optimistic about the next outing in the WWE series of games, especially since it’s being promised that the screens are in engine footage. With the official announcement of the My Career and WWE Rivalries modes, (the former being current gen exclusive), it’s safe to say that we’ll have plenty of time to oggle the models. That is, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Who else is ready to step back into the squared circle? WWE 2K15 is set for an October release date on the Playstation and Xbox family of consoles in both the standard and Hulkamania edition, with all sorts of goodies that will make you take your vitamins and say your prayers. Whatchu gonna do!?

Gamescom 2014 is now over but the folks over at CD Projekt RED still have one more thing to show everyone. Check out this 35 minute gameplay trailer for The Witcher 3.

After watching that, I am even more disappointed that we have to wait until February 24, 2015 to actually play The Witcher 3. At least it gives everyone time to consider what platform they want to play on. I am still teetering between PC and PS4.

If you’re in the middle of a game on the Xbox One and have a idea for a Reddit post, you no longer have to reach for that tablet/phone/laptop to create said post. With the announcement of ReddX, everyone’s favorite place to have discussions and share media is now an app for the Xbox One.

You might think ReddX would limit you to only browsing r/gaming since. You will be happy to know that the entirety of Reddit will be available to peruse. Of course posting, commenting and upvoting will be possible whether you choose to use the Xbox One controller or actually reach for that SmartGlass device if you prefer to type with your fingers.

ReddX wouldn’t be complete if it didn’t have achievements like all the other Xbox One apps tend to have. Microsoft community manager Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb decided to have a little fun with the achievement images with posing as popular internet memes like Scumbag Steve, All The Things, and Futurama Fry. Briefly: We’re now less than a month away from Destiny‘s anticipated launch (I’ve already taken the day off work), and today Bungie took us to Venus with the game’s newest trailer.

Bungie says that “Venus was once the site of a great discovery – a paradise. Now, it is a monument to all that we have lost.”

I was enthralled with the alpha, and had a blast with the beta for the day that I was able to play it (I had to leave for SDCC of course) and I cannot wait to get back inside this world. Take a look at the Venus trailer below (and the Mars trailer is embedded below if you missed it).

Will you become legend when Destiny hits on September 9th?

With Xbox One sales not quite what Microsoft wants, maybe offering enticing bundles will help. Announced at Gamescom 2014, three new bundles will be released this year for the Xbox One. First up is for all our European friends. The Fifa 15 bundle arrives Sept. 25 and will include the Xbox One, a controller, and a digital copy of the game for £349.99/€399.99.

Next, we have the Sunset Overdrive bundle releasing Oct. 28 for $399.99. This bundle is special in that the famed white version of the Xbox One will be offered in this bundle. Alongside the white Xbox One, a matching white controller as well as a digital version of the game with “day one” items included.

Lastly, Call of Duty, not surprisingly, gets the Xbox One bundle treatment. If you want a little more color with your Xbox One, this is the bundle for you. Sporting the black and gunmetal gray colors with logos stamped on the casing, the Call of Duty: Advance Warfare bundle also includes a custom Xbox One controller to match said console, a 1 TB hard drive (500 GB standard on normal Xbox One), and a digital copy of the “Day Zero Edition” of the game. The bundle will $499.99 when it comes out on Nov. 3.

Does any of these Xbox One bundles look enticing enough to make the plunge if you haven’t already? If I didn’t buy one at launch, the Sunset Overdrive white Xbox One bundle would be very hard to resist.

As with the previous iterations of the Skylanders series, the upcoming fourth game in the series, Trap Team, is bringing a brand new type of character in the form of Trap Masters. While not as big as giants, yet still dwarfing the Swap Force and regular Skylanders, the Trap Masters do increased damage to bosses, as well as using their translucent, Traptanium weapons to break through obstacles that only they can open. Since we played the game at E3, even more playable figures have been put on display. Naturally, that meant we had to give them a spin at Comic Con, bringing a few surprises along the way.

Snap Shot

Everyone should get well acquainted with Snap Shot, since he will be the default Trap Master to come with every copy of Trap Team. This water Skylander uses his giant bow to shoot water arrows at enemies from afar, dealing big damage in the process. When up close, he uses his brute strength to knock back enemies with the bow, becoming effective at both long and short distances. You didn’t think the weapon was just for show, did you?

Wildfire

The fire lion that proves a flame shield can be used for more than just fending off Internet hate. Coming packaged with the Dark Edition, and having what is easily my favorite Skylander design thus far, Wildfire imposes his will by rushing down foes by charging through them with his shield at the ready. Otherwise, he dominates with his powerful punches, making the villains wish for the safety of a trap.

Wallop

Wallop seems like the typical Earth Skylander, using a pair of Traptanium hammers to pound away at enemies and the environment alike. Somewhat resembling a more humanoid Tree Rex, Wallop was the first one to look a little more friendly, and not deathly serious like the previous two. While powerful in his own right, he didn’t show off too much in the demo that hasn’t been done numerous times with other characters. Between other Earth characters like Rubble Rouser and Granite, I think we’ve pretty good in the hammer wielder department. Still, the figure itself looks pretty sweet!

Gearshift

If you’ve been anywhere near a Skylanders section in your favorite electronics store, you’ve surely heard of Gearshift, with a pre-order drive that’s nearly as aggressive as the one for the game itself. After playing with her, it’s more than worth the deposit. She’s easily the most fun I’ve had with an individual Skylander, and I’ve played them all! This Tech Trap Master uses her giant gear for attacks, but it can transform into three different forms. The standard one is like a hula hoop, attacking enemies in her immediate radius. From there, the gear can break off into twin blades, inflicting damage to enemies in front of her, or transform into a whip, giving her mid range attacks. With such versatility, it’s no surprise why she’s the most exciting Skylander to arrive in a long time.

The rotund genie of the Air Element brings a level of strength not typically seen with characters of this element. His oversized boomerang works in multiple situations during battle, allowing him to either swing or throw the weapon, (obviously, since, you know… Boomerang). These options more than make up for his slow speed, and his charming design will surely make him a favorite when he’s released.

With a name like Krypt King, was there any doubt that he would be the Undead Trap Master? Looking like Chop-Chop on steroids, Krypt King battles with his giant sword to subdue the villains, which makes since considering he’s a giant suit of armor. While his design is all kinds of awesome, his slow speed and the secondary haze ability that seemed all but useless made him my least favorite of the set on display. Upgrades in the later game will surely alleviate this, but so far, I’m not ready to bow down to the king just yet.

That’s it for the Trap Masters, but that doesn’t mean that there weren’t more standard characters on display to collect. Figures like Chopper, (a tiny T-Rex with propellers attached to his back), Funny Bone, (a skeleton dog that resembles a dead Hot Dog), and Food Fight, (living lettuce with a tomato bazooka who will be included with starter packs), will continue to add so many more game play options… As well as figures to buy. And that doesn’t even include the villains to trap, like Sheep Creep, a heinous foe who is literally a sheep with rockets strapped to his back. But of course, they need trap figures to capture. Oh, our poor, poor bank accounts.

Capcom has just announced that the original Resident Evil will be coming to Xbox One and PS4, as well as the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC sometime in early 2015. If you remember back in 2002, Resident Evil was remade with better visuals with some new gameplay elements thrown in. This is the version of Resident Evil that will get the HD treatment to make it presentable for the people that might play the game for the first time.

Of course, the Xbox One and PS4 will benefit the most from this HD version of Resident Evil with things like 1080p resolution and fully remastered sound to support 5.1 surround sound. There will also be options to change the aspect ratio between 4:3 and 16:9. Not sure I would want to go back to the dark days of 4:3 though having that option will please someone out there. If you hated the tank controls of Resident Evil, you’re in luck. There will be an alternative control scheme for those of us who never want to go back to those frustrating controls ever again.

Although no trailer was release to announce this Resident Evil HD remake, there are plenty of screenshots for you to gawk at below.

 

Evolve is a game that doesn’t come around too often. It’s a game that requires team-based tactics, and, well, the desire to be an actual monster. The premise is simple: a team of four vs. one giant monster.

Each member of the team has their own unique tactical abilities that aid the team in either battle or locating the monster. Before each round, the player who takes the role of monster has a slight head start in order to feed on other wild animals that roam the map. The size of these wild animals vary, each presenting percentage needed for the monster to “evolve.” Once evolved, the monster will be able to level up abilities and change appearance. The only catch is, once you start evolution, you become extremely vulnerable.

To start, players who choose to be hunters will have to choose one class out of the four available options. The first, Assault, is exactly what it sounds like. Armed with weapons that deal out heavy damage, the Assault class should be the ones to deal out the most damage. No matter what variation of Assault class you choose, each comes equipped with two weapons, two explosives, a personal shield.

The second class comes in the form of a Trapper. In the round I played, the Trapper had a pet that would continually track the monster. This pet was more of a beast and would also participate in battle, at one time even reviving a downed teammate. The Trapper is armed with Harpoon Traps that will stick out of the ground and hook onto monsters until they destroy them. This weapon is extremely useful for slowing a monster down or even escaping a lost battle. More on that later.

Next, we have the Medic. This class is perhaps the most important of all as they will be the key to your team’s survival. Because of this, don’t be surprised if the monster should target the Medic first. Of course, being the Medic requires that you take on the responsibility of reviving a downed teammate as fast as you can. Your efficiency is key to your team’s success. Because of this, it is important that you get a grasp on what the Medic’s abilities are, otherwise you’ll find yourself pressing every button the controller trying to revive someone in a moment of panic.

Finally, we have the Support class. In the demo, I immediately went straight for this class only because I wanted to be Bucket, a drone that is usually tasked with piloting his human comrades. Bucket was armed with sentry guns and a UAV device that allows the player to track the monster so that it will appear on all teammates HUDs. By no means should the Support class be the first one into battle. If anything, this member should hang back and help set up a perimeter using their sentry bots. Doing so effectively will, in a way, overwhelm the monster and perhaps shift its focus onto your bots, rather than your team.

In my first round as a Kraken, I had an amazingly fun time. At the start of the round, I was able to level up a couple of abilities to start with. Of course, I went after a health upgrade and the Vortex, which was more akin to force-push for you Star Wars fans out there. I began my time as a Kraken hunting prey so that I could consume them in an effort to evolve quickly. Even as a monster, you must be wary of what prey you choose. Should you choose a bigger beast to fight, it may be more than you can handle.

Being a Kraken is just as fun as it sounds. Fighting a Kraken is just as difficult it sounds, too. I’m sure after the round I played, opponents of mine might have used a word other than “difficult.” During the match, I quickly found out that I had much more fun engaging the enemies in short bouts, rather than head one. This created a sense of unpredictability and forced the hunters to come to me on my terms. I was able to set traps, lay mines, and even lead an Assault-class hunter straight to a larger AI beast roaming the map.

After killing all but one member of the hunters, I had about a minute and a half to kill the last remaining opponent. Should the timer run out, the entire team would respawn. Unsurprisingly, the last hunter left the battle and decided to engage in a game of hide ‘n seek. With only ten seconds remaining, I decided to feed on one last prey so that I could evolve and be ready for the next wave. Unfortunately for the hunters, their last teammember was killed by another beast roaming the map, with only seven seconds left on the clock.

Evolve is shaping up to be a game to get on launch day. If I were you, I’d start getting a group of friends together in preparation. Evolve hits store shelves October 21!

From the start of the presentation, Sunset Overdrive was a game steered toward a direction where players could be who they wanted to be in a post-apocalyptic world where rules didn’t exist.

After a new energy drink infects all who attend said energy drink’s release party thrown by the fictional company Fizzco, the protagonist goes from being a garbage man to, well, you know:

The world is inhabited by different variations of monsters, each with their own tactical advantage and yearn for your death. The only thing they desire more than killing you is more of Overcharge Delirium XT, the Fizzco energy drink that started this whole mess. Players will be able to set traps using this energy drink to distract enemies and string together awesome combos. The game plays like a cross between your fun arcade shooter and Jet Set Radio. It would seem that players who stay on the move, and have proficient acrobatic skills, will have an easier time staying alive.

Aside from the monsters, Sunset Overdrive’s world is also inhabited by “Scabs.” These are the guys who, rather than band together with other survivors, would rather steal from other groups. Speaking of other groups, players will also run into other bands of survivors, each with their own comedic origin story as to how they survived the initial outbreak.

First, we have the Fargarths, who at the time of the outbreak, were role-playing in their own little world. Second, we have the Troop Bushido. These guys are composed of boy scouts who fled to a Japanese samurai museum you see below.

Online play will feature 8-player cooperative modes that will allow you to gain XP that can be used for both multiplayer and single player abilities. With each mission, the mode culminates into a “Night Defense” gametype in which you and your peers protect an objective from hordes of enemies.

Sunset Overdrive is due for an October 28th release date in North America, and October 30th everywhere else on the Xbox One!

It’s been over a decade since the first Halo title released onto the original Xbox entertainment system. Since then, gamers have enjoyed multiple Halo titles and multiplayer experiences. Perhaps the most popular experience was, and has always been, Halo 2.  So when 343i announced there would be an anniversary edition of Halo 2, the hearts of gamers were filled. However, 343i wasn’t done. Halo: The Master Chief Collection will feature Halo’s 1-4, in HD, and each with their own respective multiplayer experiences.

So, four games, one disc, one experience. Where do you even start? Well, from the beginning, it has been 343i’s goal to create a unified Halo experience. This will include a new user interface menu system in which gamers new and old will have little trouble accessing their favorite title and mission. From the start, each Halo will have all story missions unlocked, allowing gamers to go straight to their favorite mission in any game.

Furthermore, gamers will be able to launch playlists that deal with campaign missions, as well as the standard multiplayer gametype. This means that you and I will be able to enter a playlist that includes missions that deal with heavy vehicles and weapons that span across all four titles. Maybe you want to just play the Arbiter’s missions straight through the end of the game. There’s a playlist for that. Speaking of the Arbiter, 343i has also put terminals into Halo 2′s campaign. The terminals will feature a side story from the Arbiter’s point of view.

As far as multiplayer goes, gamers will be able to vote on which Halo map they want to play on, each representing their respective experiences. If you should just want to play Halo 2 multiplayer matches, a playlist will be there. The collection will feature over 100 maps, and even include all PC maps that console gamers never saw. All mutliplayer matches will also be hosted on dedicated servers.

Perhaps the most stunning piece of news coming out of this collection are the new cutscenes designed by Blur studios. Blur, the same studio who was behind the Halo Wars cutscenes, has done an excellent job at recreating cutscenes from Halo 2.

Last, but not least, the collection will also feature Halo: Nightfall, a new series from Executive Producer Ridley Scott.

The Xbox One is steadily increasing its gaming library. One of the most stellar games to come out of E3 2014 and SDCC 14 is Forza Horizon 2. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Froza? Stellar? Didn’t they have a release last year?” Let me be the first to tell you that Forza Horizon 2 is the racing game for you and I.

Stemming from concepts and attributes from the first iteration, Forza Horizon 2 sets itself apart from competitors, and even the standard Forza series, by focusing on car culture rather than racing. For starters, Forza Horizon 2 seems to want to appeal to both sides of the car-lovers’ spectrum. For me, someone who only has a slight interest in cars, was dazzled by the amount of customization, freedom, beauty, and connection Forza Horizon 2 provides.

The game’s environment is inspired by European towns and villas, which is yours to explore. The accessible map in the game is three times larger than the original Forza Horizon. Players will be able to take their cars and participate in races, community events, and car showcases. There will also be up to 200 cars in the game, each coming from different makes and models. You can expect everything from off-roading vehicles to classic American muscle cars. The game will also feature 700 events that total to around 100 hours of playtime, and trust me, there’ll be lots of playtime.

Graphically, Forza Horizon 2 has decided to focus on light and the way light interacts with the environment and cars that fill the world. Presented in 1080p, Forza Horizon 2 looked stunning. This iteration is also the first to feature rain and dynamic skies that will change as you play. It only adds to an experience that seems to be soon filled with life. Gamers will be able to create 1000-member car clubs, host car meets, and compete against other clubs. Players will also be able to level up by driving skillfully. This means near-misses, drifting, etc. From there, drivers will be able to spend skill points on whatever they see fit.

Drivatars make a comeback and will function in a very similar fashion as they did in last year’s Forza iteration.

Disney has just released a new video for Disney Infinity 2.0 showcasing the  Gravity Falls power discs in action. As previously reported by Josh Jackson, Disney seems to be going all out with new characters and even more customization.

If a recently leaked ad from GameStop is to be believed, then it looks like crowbar boy himself, Red Hood, is coming to Batman: Arkham Knight by the way of pre-order DLC.

In the past, bonus characters like Deathstroke and Nightwing have been contained to side modes, never getting a real chance to explore Gotham in the same way that Batman could. But as mentioned with the Harley Quinn DLC that every retailer will give out when pre-ordering the bat’s next game, Red Hood’s content will be a side story, giving him his own time stage to shine on once the highly anticipated final chapter of the Arkham series is finally released.

With this announcement, part of me is hoping that this isn’t where the extra story content comes to a close. Who wouldn’t love to play as Nightwing, Robin, or so many other members of the Bat Family in a full fledged Gotham City? Normally, I’m a staunch opponent of absurd amounts of DLC, but the Arkham games have earned the reputation of being full, rewarding experiences without extra content, so I would trust Rocksteady on this one. One thing is for sure though, the chances of me finally getting my Huntress DLC are looking slim.

Today, Harmonix has announced that Dance Central: Spotlight, the fourth game in the only series of Kinect games that actually work, will make its Xbox One debut on September 7th, along with a $9.99 price tag. In addition, the last five of the ten song playlist has also been unvieled, bringing a mix of club bangers and top 40 hits to the dance floor.

When Harmonix officially unvieled Dance Central: Spotlight back at E3, details were scarce. Aside from learning that it would be released digitally for Xbox One with half of the ten song playlist being revealed, there was little to go on as far as whether or not it would be worthy of our precious hard drive space. But now, at only $10 for ten songs, that sounds like an incredible deal to me!

As far as I’m concerned, the Dance Central series is the best motion controlled title on any platform, and will finally give us a reason to want to use our shiny new Kinects when Spotlight arrives this fall. I’m just confused as to how I’m supposed to dance to Royals…

In a move that will likely surprise absolutely no one, Activision has announced that the upcoming Skylanders: Trap Team, the fourth game in the title that started the “toys come to life”, craze, will receive its very own limited edition.

Titled the “Dark Edition”, Trap Team seems to be following very closely in the footsteps of its predecessor, Swap Force. Each package contains Raider colored versions of the standard pack ins, which include Snap Shot and Food Fight in addition to a Life and Water trap. Coming exclusively to this version however, is this badass looking fire lion, (appropriately named Wildfire), and a black Kaos trap, designed to capture the longtime series antagonist. The package will retail for $99.99.

Collectors are sure to eat this up, and I know plenty of people who wouldn’t mind dropping the extra cash for the alternate colors and bonus figures. Having said that, I REALLY hope this trap isn’t the only way to capture Kaos. The ability to do so has been a big selling point after all. And it’s too bad that they didn’t decide on some other gimmick, since we already got Dark Spyro and Dark Eruptor from the 3DS versions and a Dark Edition of Swap Force. I mean, aren’t there any other ideas other than painting them black? I sense a Rolling Stones song in the distance…

There’s no word as to whether or not this version is a Toys R’ Us exclusive in the same manner the last limited edition was a GameStop exclusive, or if we’ll be able to purchase this from any retailer that we please. But with Disney Infinity brining in Marvel and Nintendo tying their Amiibos to Smash Bros, Skylanders will have more competition than ever when it comes to your toy buying dollar. Let’s hope the game continues to build on its much improved prequel to stay strong in the public eye. See, folks? Competition at its finest!

For the first time in his long, storied career, Sting, the icon of WCW, (and TNA I guess…), will step foot in a WWE ring! Only in this case, it will be in the video game realm of WWE 2K15 in the form of pre order DLC.

Featuring both the early 90’s “surfer” Sting as well as the “Crow” Sting that would become his trademark look, the wrestling legend will join a roster featuring many of today’s biggest talent, such as cover boy, John Cena, Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt. Nearly any dream match you’ll ever want to put together can now be possible, even the long clamored for showdown between Sting and The Undertaker. Considering recent events, that might be the closest we’ll ever get to actually seeing the match play out!

But what makes this announcement more interesting is that after years of staunchly avoiding the WWE, this is the first official appearence he’s made for the company since becoming a free agent last year. Aside from an unannounced ten second clip about the Ultimate Warrior after his passing, (RIP), seeing new Sting content in anything related to Vince McMahon’s company is sure to excite wrestling fans both new and old. Besides, everyone who’s appeared before signing a contract in the past, (Brock Lesnar, Ultimate Warrior), have returned within that year. Can the same be said for Sting? Only time will tell, but I’m crossing my fingers.

Disney Interactive has released a new Disney Infinity 2.0 trailer, showing off their two newest character reveals, (which means two more figures we’ll have to throw money at). After teasing Stitch last week, the adorably destructive alien is joined by Peter Pan‘s Tinkerbell, both of which will be able to work their magic in the Toy Box mode of the game.

While two new Disney based additions to the roster are definitely welcomed, the bigger news might be the new vehicles and environments hinted at in the trailer. A Gravity Falls theme? Darkwing Duck’s Ratcatcher motorcycle complete with side car? It begs the question… What else will 2.0 have in store for us when it releases? Either way, it looks like the game is looking to include properties spanning generations to reach the young and the young at heart.

Considering that many people were concerned over a potential lack of Disney with the obvious focus on Marvel, these additions on top of the previously revealed Maleficent and Merida figures ease those concerns a little bit. Even still, we’re yet to see any Disney themed Play Sets, so we won’t know if we’ll be able to take these new characters into their own campaigns until later. With that said, these figures and items are seemingly great additions, especially when you consider Stitch’s blasters and Stitch’s surfboard, (complete with Stitch on the nose), were in the first game, making his inclusion overdue. What if Stitch rides the surfboard though? Stitchception!?
