Briefly: We still don’t know a lot about the feature, but following the incredible first set photo last month, director Matt Reeves has taken to Twitter to reveal the official logo for the Summer 2017 sequel, and also let fans know that a special announcement is incoming (during television’s most popular show, no less) this Sunday!

As a huge fan of Rupert Wyatt’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Reeves’ own Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, I’m seriously excited to see what’s in store for us with this next film.

Hopefully this Sunday’s announcement will offer up the first footage from the feature, but with the release date still so far away (July 14th, 2017), I could certainly see a trailer taking substantially more time to release.

Are you looking forward to the film? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: Just a few days after Telltale’s Game of Thrones concluded its celebrated first season, the company has officially revealed that, you guessed it, the game will be getting another season.

The news comes from a THR interview with Telltale CEO and Co-Founder Kevin Brunner, who noted that “When we initially announced the series in 2013, we let everyone know this would be a multi-title, multiyear partnership with HBO. After this week’s finale, I’m pleased to officially confirm that there will be a second season of Telltale’s Game of Thrones series and that it’s currently in development.”

Brunner continues, explaining that the development cycle of Telltale’s titles is actually quite similar to television production:

While we cannot divulge any of the specific details, we can say that Telltale’s approach to game development is much more like television than most other game developers. Across all of our series — The Walking DeadMinecraft: Story Mode and more — the development process at Telltale spends a significant amount of time upfront in the writer’s rooms not just with writers, but designers, directors and creative input from all across the studio. It’s not unusual for our games to exist longer on whiteboards and sticky notes and in scripts than they do in traditional game production. It’s incredibly similar to how TV often spends so much time in preproduction and planning before moving into actually shooting. It’s from then on that we take the live development aspect into play, observing the audience and their feedback as we adjust and build upon the experience along the way.

The interview contains several spoilers for the just-concluded first season of the title, so if you still haven’t completed Game of Thrones’ first season, I’d probably avoid it.

Otherwise, you can head here to read the rest of the interesting conversation.

What did you think of the game’s finale? Are you looking forward to the second season? Sound out below!

Briefly: We’re finally just a few weeks away from Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated The Hateful Eight, and The Weinstein Company has just debuted a beautiful final poster for the upcoming feature.

In The Hateful Eight, set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as “The Hangman,” will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all…

The film obviously looks to bear the same incredible style and slick dialogue as all of Tarantino’s other work, and as such, we can’t freaking wait.

Take a look at the gorgeous image below, and be sure to let us know what you think! The Hateful Eight hits theatres on December 25th!

Hateful

Briefly: I can’t believe that it’s now just hours away.

Following a ton of new marketing the past week, including two clips, a Daredevil teaser, the final trailer, and more, Netflix has just debuted the series gorgeous opening sequence.

After hearing nothing but positive buzz for Jessica Jones after its NYCC premiere last month, the long, long wait for the Netflix series to finally debut has been pretty excruciating, and now it’s here!

Taking place after a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, the new series follows Jessica Jones as she rebuilds her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.

Take a look at the opening sequence below, and be sure to let us know just how many episodes you plan to watch tonight.

As with the majority of geeks all over the world, my relationship with Star Wars has been a long and tumultuous one. I went from absolute love and adoration, being a comic-reading, Shadows of the Empire and Rogue Squadron-obsessed child, to utter confusion and heartbreak as Episodes I and II slowly chipped away at the franchise that I once held so close to my heart.

It wasn’t all bad, of course. Scores of novels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars,  Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and way too much Episode I Racer (not to mention Battlefront) made the franchise feel like an ex-lover that you still kind of had feelings for; you get constant reminders of why you had those positive feelings in the first place, but then you remember just why things didn’t work out. Maybe I’m just being dramatic.

Now it’s the end of 2015, Disney has owned Lucasfilm for just over three years, and I’m again in adoration of the brand. Every frame that we’ve seen from next month’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been beyond solid, the new comics, novels, and television shows have all been fantastic, and we’re slated to get a new proper or spinoff film every. single. year. And don’t even get me started on that Sphero BB-8.

To quote Ted Danson (or at least his Curb Your Enthusiasm character), it’s “simply heaven.”

I’m a grown-ass man these days (at least physically, mentally it depends on who you ask), and a gamer at heart. Right now, today, I’d say that it’s never, ever been a better time to be a Star Wars fan or a gamer (just look at some of the AAA releases this year), but it’s really never been a better time to be a Star Wars fan and a gamer. Shortly after Disney made the Lucasfilm purchase, it extended its partnership with one of gaming’s biggest publishers, EA, for another (staggering) 10 years.

This week saw the launch of possibly the most anticipated Star Wars game of the last decade; the company’s reboot of Star Wars: Battlefront, but that certainly isn’t all that EA has in store for the license (and gamers) as we roll up to the film’s release.

I’ve found myself obsessing over Star Wars for the first time in as long as I can remember, trying to eat up as much lore and content as I possibly can before The Force Awakens finally hits, and what better way to lean more even more about such a vast and complex franchise than playing video games?

We’ve got a hotly anticipated shooter, a gorgeous mobile RPG, and a huge new expansion for one of today’s hottest MMORPG’s. Unfamiliar? Or looking for some great holiday gift ideas (hint, hint, mom), here’s a little more information about each

Star Wars: Battlefront

This one probably doesn’t even need an introduction; it’s EA’s reboot of the beloved and addicting series first developed by Pandemic Studios back in 2004. Fans had been clamoring for a new title in the series for nearly a decade when EA finally gave us a brief (yet exciting) teaser trailer for the title back in 2013. Now, it’s two years later, and after some incredible trailers, some memorable hands-on time, and a lot of excitement and hype, the game has just launched.

It’s arguably the very best looking game on the PS4 and Xbox One, and critics have noted just how accessible the game is for players who may not be used to, or may not have the time to keep up with an online-focused title. This is freaking perfect for me, as I’m lucky to get a few hours of gaming in per week. To be able to jump back into a title and not instantly be at a disadvantage because I can’t play all the time made me infinitely more excited for the title.

If you’ve been listening to the Geekscape Games Podcast, you’ll know just how much fun the hosts have been having with the incredibly well produced title, and with a lot more Battlefront content in the pipeline (like 16 more maps, among other things), you can be certain that fans will be playing this one for a long, long time (but probably not on December 18th).

Take a look at the gorgeous gameplay launch trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront below, and let us know if you’re already playing!

Star Wars: Galaxy Of Heroes

Galaxy of Heroes hasn’t actually launched here in the great white North just yet (that’s Canada, if you weren’t aware), but as I’ve been desperate for another mobile Star Wars RPG ever since I played through Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic far too many years after I should have.

This one is ‘a collectible RPG experience giving players the ability to create powerful teams made up of 60 iconic Star Wars characters, and take them into battle.’

Galaxy of Heroes mixes the biggest Star Wars characters from every era, including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader, and many more. Each character has (naturally) different abilities, so you’ll mix and match different complimentary heroes (or villains) in order to create teams to fight through missions on the likes of Hoth, Bespin, Tatooine, Coruscant, and even more.

According to the game’s description, you’ll also ‘unlock special leader abilities to buff your team and unleash moves like Darth Sidious’s Force Lightning, Chewbacca’s Wookiee Rage, and more.’

I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on this one. As a big mobile gamer, I’m always on the lookout for made-for-mobile experiences that I can quickly jump in and out of when I have a few minutes to play, and from the looks of it, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes will fit the bill perfectly.

So far, the game is only available in Australia, but it’s headed elsewhere this holiday season, and with its current 4.5 star rating on the iOS App Store, it’s definitely a title that you’ll want to be on the lookout for! Take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know what your ideal Star Wars team would be!

Knights of the Fallen Empire

This one looks damned cool. I’ve been interested in Star Wars: The Old Rebublic since long before it even launched, though without a dedicated gaming PC, I’ve never actually been able to play it. Sure, the game had a bit of a troubled launch, but consistent improvements, and awesome added content have made The Old Republic one of the very best MMORPG’s online today.

The game’s newest expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire launched at the end of October, which ‘marks a renewed focus on cinematic storytelling by introducing a new personal story arc where player choice will shape the journey.’

I’ve heard a ton of feedback from current players of the game that this new expansion has them more hooked than they’ve ever been, and it’s also brought a lot of my pals who had left the game for one reason or another right back in.

With Knights of the Fallen Empire, you’ll ‘step into an epic story-driven adventure as your character becomes The Outlander, a veteran of the Great Galactic War. A third faction threatens the galaxy as we know it, and your choices will determine the fate of both the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic. Knights of the Fallen Empire includes the first nine chapters, fueled by BioWare-style cinematic storytelling, that kicks off a new player-driven story arc that puts you at the center of a conflict where your choices have impact on outcomes including unexpected twists and betrayals. Choose your path…join or betray companions, old and new…and shape the future of the entire galaxy as well as your own. Best of all, this is only the beginning…’

The new expansion is FREE to all subscribers, and includes a myriad of new enhancements, including eight class stories to offer a deeper, more accessible experience, the ability to assemble a ‘team of hand-picked allies to join your alliance’, and it also marks the beginning of a consistently evolving story, as new chapers will be released on a regular basis, among other things.

Hmm. Maybe it’s time to build that gaming PC after all.

With just a month to go until The Force Awakens finally (finally) releases, Star Wars fans, I don’t know about you, but for me, it’s time to get gaming!

How many hours have you put into Battlefront so far? Does Knights of the Fallen Empire pique your MMO interest? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: I remember being so excited for the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies adaptation when it was first announced back in 2009 (the same year that the book was first published). Since then, the film has shifted stars, directors, studios, and more. At last year’s New York Comic-Con we saw the film’s first image , and this year we were treated to the bloody awesome first footage.

really enjoyed the novel, turning something that was nearly impossible for me to get through into something funny, original, and incredibly intriguing. I really can’t wait to see how the film adaptation turns out.

A ‘bloody lovely’ new poster has just hit the web, featuring a dapper looking Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy atop a mountain of zombie bodies.

Pride

Pretty cool, huh?

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies hits theatres on February 5th!

Briefly: I cannot wait to play through these again.

As divisive as gamers seem to be over the titles crafted by Quantic Dream (Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls), the deep (and occasionally convoluted) plots, cinematic-as-hell gameplay (well, if you can call it that), and incredible production values always keep me coming back for more.

Beyond: Two Souls was a late PS3 highlight for me, and I’m beyond excited to finally know just when I’ll be able to give it another go. The PS4 re-releases of both Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain were announced back in June, and Sony today revealed the release dates for both games.

Beyond: Two Souls will launch next week on November 24th for a cool $29.99, with a variety of enhancements to the original game, including:

-Enhanced 1080p graphics including motion blur, bloom and depth of field effects, as well as improved lighting and shadows. The game also makes use of the DualShock 4 speaker to improve immersion when playing as the Entity
-Decisions are highlighted at the end of each scene and compared with those made by other players
You can now play the game in chronological order right from the start – a much requested feature in the PS3 version!
-Increased difficulty in a number of fight scenes, combined with improved controls for action sequence
-Includes the “Enhanced Experiments” DLC in the base game

We’ll be waiting a little longer for Heavy Rain however (giving you a good amount of time to catch up on that backlog), as Heavy Rain will launch on PSN on March 1st. Sony hasn’t detailed just what enhancements that release will see (or just how much it’ll cost), but you can bet I’ll be Pressing X to Jason all over again when it hits!

Will you be playing these games again? Or was once enough? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: I’ve been a huge fan of Telltale Games’ star-studded Minecraft: Story Mode thus far (keep up with my ongoing thoughts about the title here), and I was ecstatic when the publisher surprised us with the game’s second episode just a few weeks after releasing its premiere worldwide.

Today, Telltale revealed that the games third episode, titled ‘The Last Place You Look’ is also set to release rather quickly, and will hit worldwide on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, Mac, iOS and Android. This continues the simultaneous worldwide release schedule that the company began with their Game of Thrones finale, which just launched a couple of days back.

In Episode 3, trapped and running out of time, Jesse and crew must discover a means to locate Soren, the final member of the Order of the Stone. They’ll see sights and wonders beyond belief, including the horrors lurking beneath the starless sky of The End. Only Soren’s knowledge can help push back the all-consuming Witherstorm, but will it be enough to save the world?

The game features a pretty incredible voice cast, starring Patton Oswalt as male Jesse, Catherine Taber as female Jesse, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy (who I just realized was Lee in The Walking Dead), Corey Feldman, Billy West, John Hodgman, and Paul Reubens.

Take a look at the trailer for next week’s episode below, and be sure to let us know if you’ve enjoyed the game thus far!

Briefly: Anyone feel like the marketing for next year’s too-short ‘The X-Files’ run has been pretty phenomenal so far?

Yeah, me too. From the first teasers, to the full trailerstylish posters, and beyond, Fox knows that they have a hit on their hands (and a good one, based on the impressions that we heard from NYCC last month), and are doing all that they can to drum up excitement from fans of the original series.

That trend continues with three just-released promo posters for the upcoming episodes. They may just be my favourite images of the upcoming series yet.

Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES will be a thrilling, six-episode event series helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history. Production on THE X-FILES event series is set to begin in summer 2015.

THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny), as they investigate unexplained cases – “X-Files” – for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

In any case, trust no one, take a look at the new images below, and let us know what you hope to see in the January 24th premiere!

Briefly: Less than a week after releasing the show’s final trailer, and just two days from the series’ launch on Netflix (it’s about damned time), Marvel has just debuted two clips from Jessica Jones.

The clips seem dedicated to displaying just how powerful (and freaky) David Tennant’s Kilgrave is, and after seeing just what he’s capable of with such little effort, I’m very excited to see just how intense things get once he actually starts trying.

I almost wish that I didn’t watch these clips, as I’m not overly familiar with the character and would love to be as surprised as possible once the 20th rolls around. In any case, it’s a pretty cool look at Netflix’ newest bad-ass bad guy.

I can’t wait. Do you think Jessica Jones will be able to match the quality of first season of ‘Daredevil’? Are you going to find out November 20th by binge watching the whole season? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: The long troubled Ant-Man gave Marvel fans everywhere a pleasant surprise when an admirable film filled with fantastic humour debuted last Summer.

Now, the Blu-Ray release is fast approaching its December 8th launch date, and today a gag-reel from the release made its way online that shows off just how much fun the cast had making the feature.

It’s fairly short, ringing in at just over 30 seconds… and it’s basically just the cast dancing the entire time.

In any case, it’s damned hilarious.

Take a look at the clip below, and be sure to let us know what you thought of Ant-Man!

I didn’t know that these guys could move like that!

Briefly: Pretty much every time a huge game release gets delayed (which I believe is more often than not at this point), I ask myself why games even have release dates these days.

I sure hope that Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst’s delay wasn’t intended to get it out of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided‘s way, as the highly anticipated title (with the controversial pre-order campaign) has just been pushed back further into 2016.

Eidos-Montreal Head of Studio David Anfossi announced the ‘no compromise on quality’ delay today. Here’s the full statement:

As you may have already seen by reading and watching the many previews for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, our aim is for it to be a worthy successor to Human Revolution, and to improve upon that game in every way possible. I know that expectations are extremely high, and we not only want to meet those expectations, but exceed them.

We’re confident and proud of the game so far. However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations, and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to achieve this, we need to move the release of the game to August 23rd, 2016.

We are sorry to disappoint you with this news, and also thank you for all of your support and comments. This game is a huge part of our lives, and we don’t want to compromise on its quality.

So please be patient with us a little longer, and thanks as always for your passion and support – through thick and thin. It’s a huge responsibility to work on Deus Ex Mankind Divided – we know, but also a huge privilege. We’re determined to deliver the best game we can.

The game was originally set to release along with Ubisoft’s Far Cry: Primal on February 23rd. This marks an entire half-year push, which should give the team plenty of time to polish the game, as well as another E3 to build even more astronomical hype for it.

I’m a huge Deus Ex fan, and I just want the game to be as good as it can be. If that means playing it six months later, so be it (though again, it feels like these release dates are never hit).

Briefly: We’re all shaking uncontrollably at the fact that Marvel / Netflix’ Jessica Jones is finally just a couple of days away, and now Netflix has gone and debuted a new, barely-there teaser for next year’s second season of Daredevil.

It doesn’t feature any real footage (unlike the NYCC trailer), but instead looks to teaser all of our new favourite characters’ connections to Hell’s Kitchen.

It’s called ‘Pick Your Poison’, and simply shows off Foggy, Karen, and Matt’s favourite watering hole, Josies, before panning over to Luke’s, bar of choice for our new, damaged heroine Jessica Jones.

You can take a look at the teaser below, and be sure to let us know just how many episodes of Jessica Jones you’ll be watching this Friday!

Briefly: With less than two months to go until Agent Carter‘s second season premiere on January 5th, ABC has just debuted our very first teaser for the upcoming episodes.

The upcoming second season stars Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable secret agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home–and perhaps even a new love–she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

The second season will consist of 10 episodes, up from the fantastic 8 that we saw in season one.

You can take a look at the teaser below, and be sure to let us know what you’d like to see when Agent Carter returns next year!

Briefly: First revealed all the way back in August, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of High Moon Studios’ Deadpool are finally available!

The game first released on last-gen consoles all the way back in 2013, and while the game received fairly mixed critical reception, our very own Jonathan London is adamant that it’s actually a lot of fun.

I haven’t actually had an opportunity to play the game, but his love for the title, plus everyone’s newly found interest in the character due to next year’s fantastic-looking film release certainly has me itching to see some of that fourth-wall breaking content.

The release also includes all of the DLC that was available for the original game, and just like last time, the extraordinary Nolan North voices the merc with a mouth.

Take a look at the Deadpool launch trailer below, and let us know if you plan to pick up the $50 re-release!

There are a few important things I need to say before you crack into my insanely sweet game. (Oof. Here we go again.) I’m a mercenary with an accelerated healing factor. I’ve been described as unstable, which is just plain coo-coo. (Wait, do sane people say coo-coo?) I’m gonna battle for the safety of humans and mutants. (And even mumans.) Be prepared for just about anything. (Holla!).

Briefly: I have a feeling that a bunch of Doctor Who fans are running out to pick up some Black Ops III right about now.

I have absolutely no clue how people discover Easter Eggs like this, but apparently the Nuketown 2065 map in Call of Duty: Black Ops III features a pretty neat Who themed secret.

Basically, all that you have to do is shoot the arms off of every one of the maps creepy mannequins in less than two minutes, and you’ll enter a Weeping Angels-esque battle in which the mannequins begin to attack you, but of course, only move when you’re not looking at them.

Creepy.

You can take a look at YouTuber TheHiddenBlade101’s look at the Easter Egg below, and if you’ve tried it yourself, be sure to let us know just how creeped out you are!

Again, I have no clue how people discover random stuff like this, but it any case, it’s a pretty damned clever secret.

Briefly: We’ve been hearing pretty constant rumours about the long in development Tomb Raider film reboot for a number of years now, and we finally have our first bit of real, actual news about the project.

Nope, after all these years, it’s not our Laura Croft, a side character, or even a plot synopsis (though the film is said to take place over Lara’s first adventure), but instead Warner Bros. has revealed just who will helm the film, and it’s The Wave director Roar Uthaug.

I haven’t yet had an opportunity to see the Norwegian disaster flick, but I have heard some very positive things about it. We’re still waiting to officially find out who will write the film, but THR notes that Transformers 5 screenwriter Geneva Robertson-Dworet is in talks to write the script.

I’m actually really excited to see the potential for this film. Square-Enix’ recent reboot and just released Rise of the Tomb Raider have taken the series to heights that I couldn’t have even imagined (I’m seriously debating picking up another Xbox One just to play the game), and if some of that re-invigoration could trickle down into this reboot, we’d be in for a real treat.

Then again, it is a video game movie, so I wouldn’t hold you breath!

Are you down for a Tomb Raider reboot? Who would you like to see play the new Lara Croft? Sound out below!

Briefly: I still don’t know a lot about the Chloe Grace-Moretz starring The 5th Wave, but I do know that the film’s first trailer was intense as hell, and that I can’t wait for more footage to be released.

Sure, it’s not new footage, but a cool new one-sheet for the film has just made its way online. The image features Chloe shielding her character’s brother, while a massive District 9-esque ship hovers in the background.

The 5th Wave is based on a young adult novel by Rick Yancey, and in the movie “four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, Cassie (Chloë Grace Moretz) is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal 5th wave, Cassie teams up with a young man who may become her final hope – if she can only trust him.”

Take a look at the image below, and be sure to let us know what you think! The 5th Wave hits theatres on January 15th, 2016!

5th

Briefly: It’s about damned time.

Following last week’s weird-as-hell live-action trailer, EA has finally (on the eve of the game’s release, no less) detailed just what Star Wars: Battlefront‘s pricey season pass will contain.

The pass will run you $50, and will, first of all, give you a two-week head start on each of the game’s four upcoming expansions. It also includes:

-Over 20 new pieces of galactic tech including weapons, vehicles, and Star Cards for both Rebels and Imperials (what the heck is a Star Card)
-4 more heroes and villains for you to fight as or against
-16 additional multiplayer maps featuring new locations
-4 exciting new game modes
-Exclusive “Shoot First” emote

Seeing as the core Battlefront experience features just 13 maps (and only one large map for each planet), it seems like a fairly substantial expansion. That being said, is Battlefront just coming out of the gates light with content?

In any case, it’s still going to sell like crazy, and seeing as EA hinted at Battlefront sequels today, it’s pretty clear that the franchise is (this time) here to stay.

Take a look at the game’s launch trailer below, and let us know if you’re going to be picking up the season pass!

Briefly: This is fantastic.

Telltale Games is quite possibly my favourite video game developers (it’s a toss-up between them and Nintendo).

The company uses such amazing properties to tell intense, resonating stories that are virtually unparalleled in the video game world. As hyped up as I can get about certain video game releases, absolutely nothing excites me more than a trip through the latest episode of a Telltale Games series.

I’ve always wondered just what goes into crafting some of their amazing titles, and apparently, so did Complex, as they’ve just released a 30-minute Telltale-focused documentary entitled Telltale Games: Story Mode.

Telltale is “not entirely sure how they did it, but they managed to condense over 10 years worth of history and over 100 episodes into a brisk 30 minute documentary that examines what it’s been like to work on these episodic games under one roof from San Rafael, California since 2004.”

It’s really an intriguing watch, so put down whatever you’re doing (yep, even Fallout 4, those settlements can wait), take a look at the documentary below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: It’s been quite some time since we’ve been blessed with a new episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones, but as Telltale revealed following the launch of the second episode of Minecraft: Story Mode (read our review here), the first season of its intense Game Of Thrones adaptation is now just one day away from its conclusion. To mark the occasion, the developer has just release a sweet, sweet new trailer for the adventure.

The final episode, ‘The Ice Dragon’ will release on consoles, mobile, and PC worldwide tomorrow, November 17th. This universal release marks a first for a Telltale title, so hopefully that’s a trend that continues. I’d love to play these games on my mobile devices, but gravitate towards consoles instead because of their earlier release dates.

Earlier this month, Kevin Bruner, CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games said that “The epic conclusion to the season is the most ambitious and diversely presented episode we’ve ever produced. The fate of House Forrester has been in the hands of players all season long, and the finale will be tailored to provide a uniquely harrowing conclusion for each and every player based on the decisions they’ve made in the game thus far.”

If you haven’t played the series yet, Telltale’s Game of Thrones is particularly interesting as it’s “played from five different points of view. Each is either a direct Forrester family member, or a person in service to the House. Scattered across Westeros and Essos, each will play their part in seeking to save House Forrester from destruction.”

In case you’re unsure of the series, or have just missed out thus far, the first episode of the season, ‘Iron From Ice’ is also free on PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, iOS, and Android devices.

Take a look at the finale’s trailer below, and be sure to let us know which part of Game of Thrones you’ve enjoyed the most so far!

Briefly: It’s about time.

Breaking Bad fans everywhere have been hankering for more of Bob Odenkirk’s fantastic Saul Goodman performance ever since the pre/side/se-quel series, Better Call Saul  concluded its first season back in April.

Today, AMC let us know just when we can see more.

Season two of Better Call Saul will premiere on Monday, February 15th.

Showrunner Peter Gould let fans know that “Jimmy McGill’s journey takes surprising, left-handed turns in Season 2 He goes to places we’d never, ever expected. As for Mike Ehrmantraut (played by Emmy nominee Jonathan Banks), he’s pulled deeper into a world he was sure he’d left forever. We can’t wait to share the next chapter of Better Call Saul with the fans who have embraced the show.”

And we can’t wait to see it. The incredible writing and production value of Breaking Bad certainly made it to the spinoff in full force, and I’ve been dying to learn more about Jimmy McGill’s world since that fantastic finale earlier in the year.

You can take a look at the first still from season two below, and let us know if you’re excited!

Briefly: It’s almost that time of the year again!

2015 is coming to a close, and with that, game awards season is upon us. Last year’s The Game Awards was a grand departure from the VGAs that it replaced, and following after a year full of incredible releases across all platforms in 2015, it’s going to be beyond interesting to see which titles take home the gold.

Last year’s The Game Awards were well produced and enjoyable as hell, and I certainly hope that this year can match. Today, The Game Awards announced their nominees for all categories, and while there are some surprises across the board, it’s great to see some barely-known titles like Her Story and Life is Strange get some well deserved recognition.

The Game Awards go live at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, Dec. 3 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles! I missed last year’s live broadcast, so you better believe I’m excited to watch it this year!

Without further ado, here are your nominations! Be sure to let us know what you think of the list, and let us know your favourite games of 2015 in the comments below!

Briefly: Back in September, Nintendo fans everywhere were disappointed to learn that the company’s upcoming Star Fox Zero would not be making its 2015 release window. In the delay announcement, an apologetic Miyamoto noted that “the game will not be delayed for a very long time – we’re aiming to launch the game in Q1 2016.”

As revealed at yesterday’s Nintendo Direct presentation, it looks like that game won’t quite make that Q1 release, but will instead hit the Wii U on April 22nd, 2016.

So, fans, we’ve got just five more months of waiting. At least we’ll have that Falco Amiibo to pick up on November 20th, right?

Are you looking forward to Star Fox Zero? Since you won’t be playing it this holiday season, what will draw your gaming attention instead? Sound out below!

Briefly: Took them long enough!

We’re reeling over Nintendo’s just-concluded Direct presentation, and while we’re all gasping for air over the announcement that Cloud Strife is joining the Super Smash Bros. roster (and hopefully getting an Amiibo), I’m just as excited about this announcement.

The big N has revealed that the original journey’s, Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow are headed to the 3DS eShop, and with one huge, much appreciated change: you’ll be able to trade characters using the 3DS’ wireless capabilities, instead of relying on a pesky link cable.

I haven’t touched these classics since I was just eight years old, so you better believe I’m looking forward to picking them up again.

All three games hit the eShop on February 27th, and I’ll be headed down nostalgia lane that very day. Take a look at the trailer for the re-release below, and be sure to let us know if you’re excited!

Briefly: Based on what I’ve heard about the sales performance of this year’s incredible adventure, Life Is Strange, this announcement (and the heavy rumours that the episodic franchise will be receiving a second season) is actually quite surprising to me.

It’s also beyond exciting.

See, if you’re a Geekscape (or Geekscape Games) regular, you know full well just how much I loved the first (and so far only confirmed) season of DONTNOD’s Life is Strange.

2015 has been a year filled with incredible game releases (with a few more still on the way). yet every time I think about the best, most resonating titled that I’ve played so far this year, my mind always wanders back to Max and Chloe’s incredible time-jumping adventure.

Now, I can celebrate my love for DONTNOD’s unique and epic tale by picking up a limited edition physical version of the game this coming January. The release was revealed this morning on the official Square-Enix blog, and the Xbox One, PS4, or PC collection is set to hit Europe on January 22nd (and it better be coming to North America too).

In the collection, you’ll find (of course) all five episodes of the game on disc, a 32 page artbook (including unreleased concept art), the full Life is Strange soundtrack, plus the original score by Jonathan Morali, and director’s commentary!

Life is Strange producer Luc Baghadoust noted that “The response to Life is Strange really has blown us away! To be able to share that experience with our fans in a traditional boxed format is something we’re really excited about and the decision to include the extra items for the Limited Edition is a direct response to fan requests.”

The fact that it comes with the game’s soundtrack is a fantastic bonus, since, as memorable as the game is on its own, the soundtrack really brings it to another level. Here’s the tracklisting:

Life is Strange track list:

1. Syd Matters – ‘To All Of You’

2. Jose Gonzales – ‘Crosses’

3. Angus & Julia Stone – ‘Santa Monica Dream’

4. Sparklehorse – ‘Piano Fire’

5. Alt J – ‘Something Good’

6. Local Natives – ‘Mt. Washington’

7. Bright Eyes ‘Lua’

8. Mogwai – ‘Kids Will Be Skeletons’

9. Amanda Palmer – ‘In My Mind’ (feat. Brian Viglione)

10. Message To Bears ‘Mountains’

11. Breton – ‘Got Well Soon’

12. Mud Flow – ‘The Sense of Me’

13. Foals – ‘Spanish Sahara’

14. Syd Matters – ‘Obstacles’

Original Score by Jonathan Morali

15. Jonathan Morali ‘Golden Hour’

16. Jonathan Morali ‘The Storm’

17. Jonathan Morali ‘Blackwell Academy’

18. Jonathan Morali ‘Kate’

19. Jonathan Morali ‘Timeless’

20. Jonathan Morali ‘Timelines’

21. Jonathan Morali ‘Night Walk’

22.  Jonathan Morali – ‘Max & Chloe’

Hmm. One to open, and one to keep sealed. Seems reasonable, right?

If you haven’t yet played Life is Strange… what the heck are you waiting for? All five episodes are currently available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC!

Will you be picking up the collector’s edition? Let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: Just hours before we get another new look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens on ABC tonight, Disney has debuted the official, officially gorgeous IMAX poster for the film online.

It’s a simple image, featuring Rey, our new favourite droid BB-8, and a massive Jakku sun (that I imagine would look stunning on that giant IMAX screen), and it’s yet another piece of The Force Awakens art that I would absolutely love to have on my wall.

Take a look at the poster below, and be sure to let us know what you’re most excited to see in the film! Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theatres on December 14th!

Freaking beautiful, isn’t it?

Briefly: So Fallout 4 is pretty great. You probably already know that, but I finally had an opportunity to briefly play the game last night, and I’m already in love. I really can’t wait to see what wonders the Commonwealth has in store for me, as well as the myriad of interesting locations and unique, crazy bits of lore that I’m bound to discover during my 100 year playthrough.

One very cool aspect of the game is your loyal robot butler, Codsworth. Bethesda did some pretty insane work here, as Codsworth’s voice actor Stephen Russell recorded over one thousand character names for Codsworth to call you in game. You’ll find everything from Neo to Morpheus, Katniss to Mulder and Scully.

Even some silly bad words made it in there.

Sadly, he won’t call you Derek.

In any case, it’s a pretty expansive list, and it’s definitely worth a read as there are a peculiar number of interesting entries (Indiana Jones, anyone).

Take a look at the expansive list below, and let us know how you’re enjoying Fallout 4 so far!

Whoah.

Briefly: All the way back at this year’s E3 in June, Telltale Games revealed that while we wait (forever, apparently) for their amazing The Walking Dead to get a third season, we’d be getting a three-episode mini-series that’s focused entirely on one of the series’ fan-favourite characters, Michonne.

They revealed that the game “stars the iconic character from the comic book series haunted by her past and coping with unimaginable loss and regret. The story explores her untold journey during the time between issues #126 and #139. Through this Telltale Games mini-series of 3 episodes, players will discover what took Michonne away from Rick, Ezekiel, and the rest of her trusted group… and what brought her back.”

It sounded like a welcome addition to the lore of Robert Kirkman’s comic book, as there isn’t a The Walking Dead reader alive who wasn’t curious about Michonne’s journey during those issues, but following the announcement, the developer went silent about the title.

Until today, when Head of Creative Communications for Telltale Games Job Stauffer took to Twitter with an exciting revelation:

Telltale often likes to do surprise launches of their games (or new episodes, like Minecraft: Story Mode‘s second episode last month), so the fact that Job said this via Twitter has me firmly believe that we’ll be seeing a lot more of The Walking Dead: Michonne, and soon! He also noted that we won’t be hearing about the third season of the main The Walking Dead series for quite some time! I’m actually totally okay with that, as Telltale is on fire right now, and I don’t think I have the time to add another one of the developer’s titles to my already-full Telltale queue.

Are you looking forward to The Walking Dead: Michonne? Be sure to let us know!

Briefly: When the ‘final’ trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuted back in October, fans everywhere (me included), expected Lucasfilm and Disney to go dark, and, well, to stop releasing new footage for the film.

Since then, we’ve seen a few TV spots and a spoilery new international trailer (which I still haven’t seen), and today Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes took to Twitter to let us know that Disney is still not done with us yet.

How there will be any new footage left when the movie actually releases I have no idea.

I’ve stopped watching the marketing for the film, as I’d like to be as surprised as possible when The Force Awakens finally hits on December 17th. That said, I’ve heard nothing but good things about the footage released thus far, and it’s beyond tempting to take a look.

Are you down for yet another look at the film? Would you prefer to be left in the dark at this point? Be sure to let us know!
